In book three, Amelia is faced with a potential prison sentence for a crime she didn’t commit. With a death warrant looming over her head, her security clearance is lowered and her assets are frozen. She's pinned against a wall as the IA debates her future.
Numb from an unforeseen departure, Amelia sinks into a depression as her world crumbles. Stuck in the past, she feels like she’s suffocating in a figurative jail cell with no escape.
As fate would cruelly have it, her state of mind is about to become a reality. Confined behind the bars of an abandoned prison, Amelia is isolated and alone. Dr. Estian Knauss has plans for his prisoner, and he won't take no for an answer. Before more innocent people die, she needs to determine where Estian’s loyalties lie and unveil the truth about an old friend and her mother.
The situation takes an unexpected turn when Amelia’s surroundings reveal a premonition about the future. Four people learn that someone among them is the answer to a critical question. In reality, what each of them thinks is the solution couldn’t be further from the truth, and it’s only the beginning.

Sarah Jayne Carr is a novelist who can be found most evenings with a cup of tea in-hand and her imagination racing from plot to plot. When away from her work, part of her mind is constantly brainstorming her next story and she always has writing paraphernalia within reach.

She wrote stories as a child, but became more serious about her passion during her twenties. In her spare time, she likes to read, splash in mud puddles, smell bookstores and eat Honeycrisp apples. Yearly, she participates in NaNoWriMo and has mentored others through the program. Due to her dedication to National Novel Writing Month, she is part of an amazing writing group.

Born and raised in Washington State, Sarah still resides in the area. Her life is richly filled with her supportive, yet swashbuckling husband and their golden Nugget.

Reading order of the JackRabbit7 series:
The ones with an asterisk are the short stories I wrote. They're backstories on the supporting characters and how their lives intertwine with Amelia's and/or JackRabbit7.

Villains come out of the woodwork

It’s hard to know if I’m reading this series in the correct order, because who is Regan?

The villians come out of the woodwork in this story, letting us know that there are much more players in the game. Grandfather takes a backseat until he reappears again at the end. Although he didn’t mention anything about feeling the pain when she was sliced and diced whilst held prisoner.

Love triangle with Donovan and Nick can get a bit predictable but I’m glad she FINALLY gets makes up her mind about Nick. Because I’m in love with him too.

Again the dreams gives the story a supernatural feel.

Amelia’s in trouble; IA’s HQ has been bombed, Levi’s missing, her death warrant is still hanging over her head, and she’s constantly being called to IA’s court to explain (and re-explain) everything that happened.
And to make everything worse; Nick walked out of the house, leaving Amelia all alone. Well, she isn’t ALL alone, she has Molls, Dane and Orion, but Amelia is devastated that Nick left – without a single word, not even a goodbye. *bastard*
But this is only the beginning of Amelia’s trouble. Remember the end of Embracing Hamilton? She was given a very special card by someone? Well, that card just got Amelia into trouble with Gladys, THE most senior judge in the IA court. And when Gladys says “jump”, you don’t argue, you ask “how high”.
Amelia is being taken to jail, but something happens under the transport, leaving her into the hands of someone else entirely…. And the mercy of someone completely and totally insane. Will Amelia be able to survive her imprisonment? And is she truly alone in there?
Amelia will discover truths, old friends, new ones and the strength of survival.
I was so lucky to receive Hunting Hamilton as a beta read. I was jumping with joy; I loved Embracing Hamilton and could barely wait for Hunting Hamilton. When handing over the book, Sarah told me; “You'll get lust, regrets, death, mayhem, miscommunications, plot twists. All of the usual."
HA! It doesn’t even BEGIN to cover Hunting Hamilton. Hunting Hamilton is a merry-go-round of pain, insanity, lies, secrets, truths, heart aches, despair, survival, JR7, consequences, all sprinkled with more surprises and plot twists than you’ll EVER have encountered in Sarah’s books.
Even though I was giving chapter by chapter feedback to Sarah, I devoured Hunting Hamilton, to the point I forgot dinner, kids and laundry. I was deep into the story, hand shaking, heart beating, jaw dropping, scrunching my nose, losing my appetite (due a very special dinner *yuk!!*), and I couldn’t let go. More than one time I messaged Sarah, used swear words, asked a million questions, and wondered if it was my sanity, or hers that was slipping. *still not sure today*
Hands down, cross my heart… I thought pRevealing Hamilton was a great introduction to JackRabbit7, Revealing Hamilton was heartbreaking and surprising. Embracing Hamilton topped that with new twists and plots I didn’t see coming a mile away, and Engaging Kennewick was amazing. Hunting Hamilton BEATS them all. Seriously, I had BEFORE starting HH read… 6 works written by Sarah. Somehow, I should’ve been able to suspect what she is capable of…. Nuhu. I wasn’t even CLOSE. At all. And just when I thought I had been through the worst – Sarah decides to throw in some extra. Just for fun. To confuse you, and make you even MORE giddy and anxious for the next book. And I haven’t even MENTIONED who Amelia gets cozy with in Hunting Hamilton!!! *grins* Not telling, it would be a spoiler, but damn!!!
If you haven’t picked up this series, you’re SERIOUSLY missing out on a freaking awesome story. I love it when an author to the very end STILL can deliver surprises to you, uses your entire emotional spectrum, and when you message and yell at her – she just chuckles evilly. With a cup tea in her hand. And then she tells you that it’s just the beginning. And it was.

This is not my review but a snippet of a Facebook posting I just HAD to do. I was at 97% when I posted this.
"Sarah Jayne Carr. You are killing me!!! I have NEVER read a series this freaking good! Anger, frustration, fear for my fictional BFF, praying that the good guys will prevail, wishing death and torture upon their enemies, trying to get the answers but can't because it's anything but predictable. One moment I'm asking how could you do this to them. The next minute I'm virtually hugging you because of something that seems slightly insignificant but means everything to the characters. Yeah, I can see I'm going to need book therapy at the end of this. Lol!"

Review of Hunting Hamilton
Damn, OMGosh, What the…., *sniffles*, grab tissue, heart breaks, redemption (kind of sorta maybe?)
Sarah Jayne Carr has done an amazing job developing this series. There are so many little pieces that required such intricate care to weave into each story. I am just astounded at the mastery in which she built her characters, the organizations of IA and PC, and the storyline altogether. The Jackrabbit7 series is not only in my top favorite series, it is my favorite series. With the cast of villains, good guys, and those caught in the middle nothing is as it seems, leaving this reader on the edge of my seat and never knowing what would happen next. It is unpredictable, exciting, and a must read!

HH takes place immediately after Embracing Hamilton. Amelia is in some deep shit. Being pegged a double agent. Levi is missing. Vegas has been blown up. She cant seem to catch a break. Oh and Nick just took off and left for Ca. I blame Carr and her evil ways.

For reasons I wont explain (the books already written ) Amelia ends up in jail. But not the IA's jail nope this one is about a million times creeper. She happens to be on the same block as some people from her past. People she loves and people she hates. Hunting Hamilton gave us so much more insight to what has REALLY gone on in the last 2 books. We've always seen everything from her perspective and now Carr gave her other characters a chance to explain themselves and their back story. Carr also creeped me the feck out and ill never look at eggs the same way again and you know that evil genius is proud of herself. How do I know because I told her the consequences im facing as a result of reading HH and she laughed!! Yeah im sure on her end it was a true EVIL laugh.

Hunting Hamilton is another one out of the park for Sarah Jayne Carr. Fast pace and thrilling. My heart pumped faster than normal and my hands were clamy often. Carr has mastered suspense and the fine art of plot twists. I cant recommend this series enough

Hunting Hamilton is the third, full length novel in the JackRabbit7 series, and I cannot express how much I loved it enough! I couldn't put it down, and as I told the author (the fabulous Sarah Jayne Carr) that I felt like she had injected her book with the drug. In a word I was addicted.

Picking up where Embracing Hamilton left off, Amelia is an emotional mess. With a potential prison sentence hanging over her, and experiencing crazy psychotic dreams, things take a turn for the worse when Amelia lands in the back of a police car, and is transported into hell. And things will not get smooth. But that's what made the book such an exhilarating read - we never know what is going to happen. Questions are still to be answered, and it gets the brain ticking.

Amelia is amazing. How she continues, I don't know. I would have given up long ago... The characters are brilliant - Estian is a villain I love to hate. And I really want a parakeet/bird tattoo on my hip... Some of the characteristics of certain characters *cough* Donovan *cough* hits a little close to home with me, but he's still an enjoyable character. And Nick... The feels, gosh woman!

Just read the book Goodreads browsers. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't, and I can't wait for more of Amelia's adventures! But not in wonderland...

I like how the story starts off and we get to pick up where the last book left off like we never really left!!! The story and the characters come rushing back to you with open arms it's an amazing feeling! It's like coming home to great friends!
What I enjoyed most when I read this book is the ease of it and how well you can jump right back in and the fluidity. The story moves with such smoothness before you even realize it your almost through (So if you want to make it last longer read it really slow and savor it up! lol)
I like that it doesn't drone on with unnecessary details everything you read is important and connects to a bigger picture waiting to be discovered!
In this book we're taken on a roller coaster of a ride...twists, turns, and chills await you at every turn as Amelia once again is a the heart of danger.
You never really know what to expect next! I like that once you think you might have it figured out the story and the character's changes direction and your jaw is dropping like "OMG..did that really just happen!!!"
Don't miss out on this awesome book!!!!!

Better and better yet. Amelia's story is one hell of a wild ride. Let me tell you. Lost in a prison for what she thought was 2 weeks of living hell. Being held captive by the psycho Estian who tortured and tormented not only her but her friends too. One by one they were all being tortured and for what? Information about her? Why? What does Estian want and how do all these people fit into his psychotic plan? Learning about her mom and actually saying her feelings out loud is what keeps Amelia going. She's strong but she can only handle so much and it just keeps getting worse.
Wih everything her and the IA have been through I'm surprised everything is still standing. There's so much more to know, so much I need to find out. What does Dane have to do with all this? What is her grandfather going to do to her now? Will nick stick around this time around? So much.
Yup, I'm hooked all right. I'm stuck in this crazy world of the IA and the coalition and hopefully soon I'll get my answers.
Sarah, you amaze me. How you were able to blow my mind with this story! I want to reach in and grab them all and scream at them. Seriously, I have no idea what's coming next and I hope to hell I find out soon.
