I adored this book! I love a good friends to lovers storyline and this one was amazing. Luke and McKenzie's relationship is one of the most heart-warming and genuine romances I have read. I loved that there wasn't any lame drama or silly misunderstandings. I just really enjoyed these characters and loved how their relationship developed and how they dealt with the situations they faced. I really enjoyed the flashbacks of their friendship throughout childhood. I really loved this book and look forward to reading more by this author. Highly recommend!!!

Did we read the SAME book?

Cause this was like.... this book was.....

It was sweet when they fell in love.

Then it got weird with their inner monologue.

And then it got EVEN weirder when the sister came to know they are dating.

And Idk why? Why did she get weird? What's wrong with that? Everybody knows that the h is sweet girl, Olivia KNOWS that . Then why was she so against it?

Plot-wise I gotta say that this was 5/10.

Chemistry wise this book surpassed many great reads of 2023 of mine.

But sadly, I was not THAT into it to fully understand WHY the book was written in this way?

This is a story of friendship, family and love. I enjoyed this story; the characters are lovable and kind. McKenzie, Luke and Olivia are inseparable friends that started forming this bond since the age of five. But what happens when you are growing up and your feelings begin to change. Can their undeniable bonds stand the test of time and love?
McKenzie has always felt a different kind of bond to Luke, but until the past few years didn’t understand. She didn’t want to act on her changes feelings, in fear of losing the lifelong friendship that she has with not only Luke but also Olivia. McKenzie has overcome extremely hard issues of abuse growing up and Luke (& Olivia) has been there to help her survive and move past.
Luke is a person that has always been told what his plan in life was going to be and he didn’t have a say in it. He struggled with coming to terms not only with his future and how to gain control from his father, but also how to handle his feelings for McKenzie.
Throughout this story both Luke and McKenzie share flashbacks that add great insight to the years of bonding between the three of the kids. The flashbacks helped to demonstrate how the friendship between Luke and McKenzie was evolving and changing throughout the years as they were growing older.
This book is about fate, destiny, true love and growing up. The story of McKenzie and Luke is amazing to read, it pulls at the heartstrings. It takes you through happy times and sad, and shows you that true friendship can stand the test of time. McKenzie, Luke and Olivia find that with the love and support of family and friends anything is possible. As long as you believe in yourself, have faith in your love for one another you can accomplish and overcome anything you set your mind to.

This has a slow start were you find out about mackenzie and Luke's life. After the first few pages you will not be able to put this book down because you don't know if these two are going to realize that they were always meant to be together. With everything against Mackenzie and Luke it is there love for each other that makes them get through the hard parts of life. I would recommend this book who wants a great love story

I received a copy of this book an exchange for an honest review.
Luke and Mckenzie always knew they had something special. Growing up they
were always together, along with Luke's twin Olivia. They were always there
for each other, especially for Kenzie whose father was abusive. Throughout
the years Luke and Kenzie shared special moments. Knowing Olivia wouldn't
approve of them being together they kept their moments a secret. Luke
convinces himself that he isn't in love with Kenzie and shuts away his
feelings. In high school boys are starting to notice both Kenzie and Olivia.
When Kenzie starts to consider dating another guy, Luke realizes he must
confess his true feelings for her or risk losing Kenzie to another guy.
Little does Luke know that Kenzie feels the same way. Will their confessions
bring them together or is it too late for their love?

This was such a cute story and not what I expected. I finished it in one
sitting! It is not your typical high school/true love type of story. It has
some plot twists and the emotions that the characters were feeling had me in
tears, which in this case was a good thing. The love connection between Luke
and Kenzie was amazing. This is a heartfelt story and a truly enjoyable
read. I give this book 5 stars

A sweet, true-to-life, YA novel....

Hearts Attached is a sweet story of best friends growing up to be each other's first and only love.

Scarlet Wolfe does not shy away from what teens face in our world today. Everything from peer pressure, rumors, to first love and the consequences of that young love.

This story brought back memories of that first love. How often times young people let true friendships fall to the side because of love. I was happy to see Mackenzie and Olivia work out differences to maintain their life long friendship. I loved the emotions Luke allowed us to see during his point of view. I felt like Mackenzie held back in her emotions during the end of the story.

Overall, it was a good read, and reinforced my love of the author.

I received an Arc copy in exchange for a honest review. I love Scalet and her true life writing. This was YA in every sense about young love from childhood to young adult hood. Where best friend turn into more. I love Luke and Mckenzie story. At first I thought a I need where this way going but it took twist that I didn't see coming. It did have some coming to adult hood and grown up scenes but is shared a few tears at there struggles. Another great work from Scalet and great for any young person or older story for anyone to read.

Ok totally in love with this story and McKenzie and Luke and Liz. They are young but they have grown up together and this is a true love story. It wrecked my heart in a few places and I was in tears but lovely to the very end. Kenzie and Luke were destined to be together once they decided his twin sister could handle the news. Then they are hit with a couple of big surprises. I love that Luke protected Kenzie from her dad, it broke my heart. I am deeply touched by this book definitely recommend this read to any romantic readers. Great work Scarlet

Love reading Scarlets books. They never disappoint, and this latest book was no exception. Characters are facing real life situations, and having teen agers , it is easy to relate to the story lines. Luke, Liv, and Kenzie are lifelong friends and love the bond they share. Great book, highly recommend.

I absolutely loved Luke and Kenzie's story. It is real and raw emotion coming from two teens who most would think don't know anything about love. But they did. I laughed, cried, and felt everything they felt and that's how I think a story should be. I recommend this book to everyone who believes in HEA

"Childhood love to Lifetime love"

Blurb:

I don't often read YA (Young Adult) books because a lot of times I'm left with more holes in the story and not enough "story" if that makes sense. They often have an emptiness to them but in HA; this is not that case. This story defines true "old fashion love" and shows us the emphasis on what's truly in important in life. Life isn't always about what you have when it comes to materialistic things... it's about love and compassion; devotion and understanding; communication. Don't get me wrong.. there is something about a hot steamy sexy romance that just sets a person on fire but a true love story isn't always about this. Hearts Attached shows us this very clearly with Mackenzie and Luke. Everything is against Mackenzie and Luke's relationship but their love outshines and helps them get through the most difficult and challenging parts of their lives. It's a true testament of how devoted they are to each other. HA is refreshing. It gives us a side of a love story we don't often see where love is deep. Where vulnerability comes out in everyone because of the camaraderie amongst them. The devotion between both Mackenzie and Luke is powerful even when Luke's twin sister Olivia objects. He stands up to her and confronts her in a way he never has before.

I will be honest this story grabbed me by the heart strings in many places and I even shed a few tears along the way for these three and the heartache they each went through. The incident that brings these three closer than ever before truly broke me. The connection and love they have for each other>>>>> INCREDIBLE!!!

Scarlet you are an incredible writer and the way you write stories gives us new light to many of life's everyday challenges. This story was my first by you and I am officially a new fan. I definitely will be reading your others.

A 5 STAR READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion!!!

After readingThe One Urge Trilogy and The Trust Game, both by Scarlet Wolfe,I saw this NA read and couldn't pass it up! This was a very sweet book! Wonderfully written, and it had me wanting a HEA ending.
Scarlet tells us about Luke and Mckenzie, friends and soul mates growing up together(along with Luke's twin Olivia). The 3 amigos! Something changes between Luke and McKenzie along the way, they fall in love! But,there are many twists and turns along the way! Some unforeseen occurrences and events take place! Like in life, it's not always rainbows and butterflies!
Will they find their HEA? Or will circumstances and events lead them down separate paths?
The author,Scarlet Wolfe, does a great job telling Luke and McKenzie's whole story, includes flashbacks of Luke,Kenzie And Olivia. She gives us details without being redundant, this story flows. As mentioned this is a NA/YA story. It is recommended to17 and older to enjoy.I think you'll LOVE this book as much as I did!
This Book is on SALE ON AMAZON FOR .99 cents at the time of this post!

From the first page I was hooked. I felt like you could feel the emotions between the characters. McKenzie has feelings for Luke, he has feelings for McKenzie as well. They have been worried about hurting Olivia who is Luke's Twin. When Olivia found out she wasn't happy about it, she started treating McKenzie very poorly and Like has finally had enough he stood up to his sister. Luke has had his whole life planned out for him, he plays sports and he will be going to Dartmouth. Kenzie has had her fair share of problems as well. Scarlet Wolfe really knows how to write a great story. This story really tugged at my heart strings! I know that this is a story that I will be able to pick up and reread again. Scarlet you are an amazing author! I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone! If I could give this book more then 5 stars I would!!!

McKenzie, Olivia, and Luke grow up together, separated only by a house between them. They are each other's best friends but McKenzie and Luke have always felt more than friendship for each other. But not willing to sacrifice their friendship and not willing to make Olivia angry, they fight their feelings for each other. Until........until other boys show interest in McKenzie, other boys who are willing to go against Luke telling them not to ask her out, not to touch her. Finally Luke makes his move and McKenzie becomes his. But just because they're together now doesn't make their lives wonderful and perfect.

Scarlet has a unique talent. She can take a story of young adults and make it relevant for more mature adults. So this would be a good book to share with your daughter or son. Grab your copy now.

Sweet walk down a tough road

This sweet story is complete and well told. The young couple is just joining together, dealing with the peer pressure and personal emotions when life throws and unwanted pregnancy into the mix. Their parents become involved. One is undemanding and supportive. The other set is overbearing and demanding that the couple give up their children. The choices and consequences are laid bare over the course of the narrative. The author shows a deft touch leading the reader along with the young couple as the wrestle with each hurdle and each decision. Well done.

Was a nice sweet read about childhood friends transitioning to lovers. Enjoyed flashbacks of their childhood friendship. Although this was a typical high school story/romance it was still enjoyable to read. I loved that even though Luke was a really popular guy he stayed true to his heart and didn't screw his way through the female population. That was different! A lot of sweet moments and the ending was beautiful.

Love!

Love!

Love, love, love this book! There are skeptics out there who don't believe in true love or that our hearts have a match out there somewhere. Well, I do! There is not one thing I would have changed about this book. Loving every bit only left me wanting more. More, more, more! McKenzie and Luke were amazing together. My favorite? The flashbacks! Looking forward to more from this author. Great job!!

Really sweet

This is a pg book. There is a ton of emotion so the physical stuff was ok to skimp on. They have a truly sweet story. The story flashes back but not to the point you lose the story. I did feel every emotion they felt up until the moment they made a decision that would impact the hea.

The love between a brother and sister which are twins holds the greatest bond. The love the family has is so sweet. And the friendship with McKenzie, Luke and Olivia is unbreakable since they we're young. Definitely a great love story!
