The book of Jude is a powerful letter that aims to display the glory and divinity of Jesus while combatting the false teaching that often emerges in every culture. If you're looking for a daily devotional that gives ample background information on the text combined with deeper-level study and practical application that is all centered on Christ and His gospel, we think you'll enjoy this series.
Unlike some of the recent Christian books, I did finish this one. From a biblical viewpoint it's good. It won't hurt anyone to read it and may benefit many readers.
The reason I only gave it three stars is that it was just a casual read. Not once did I experience the proverbial slap in the head that says "pay attention, I'm talking to you." When I read devotional articles and books I want more than just something to read. I want something that gets personal; something that points out shortcomings and challenges me to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to live more conformed to his image. This book came short of that.
The commentary helped to bring the Book of Nude to life for me. I don't think I have ever heard a pastor preach from Jude and I have learned much from this insightful writing. Thank you for the teaching.
Well written, thought provoking book. Jude is one of those books of the Bible that tends to get overlooked. It should be studied more often & this is a good companion for your study.
Clear, accessible read. Used lots of Scripture and stayed practical. Editing could be a bit tighter, several typos but it was free. Recommended. Enjoyed a deeper look at a book mostly skimmed over.
