I literally just started this one this morning, but I should have looked into the reviews more prior to doing so. The FMC has a sex scene with her "arranged fiance" (NOT the MMC btw) who she doesn't even like! Why the hell is that even necessary?! It made no sense. DNF'ing because authors who make this kind of stupid move, especially this early in the text, do not lead me to believe that they have any kind of story worth reading and my free time is precious.

Why waste space and sex scene on someone the FMC barely tolerates and was basically arranged to be with by her brother. Fiancé or not this definitely ruined the book for me. Was looking so good too!

2 stars - DNFd at 39% p107
First I will preference this by saying that the FMC does have a sex scene with her fiance who is not the MMC in the beginning of the book and she does not enjoy or even like her fiance. I know some people don't like that in their reading so that's just a little bit of a warning.
So I ended up dnf in this book at 39%. This book really needs an editor. There are multiple points in the book where it gets really repetitive and then says basically the same thing one right after the other. There are also not clear-cut starting and ending points in a lot of scenes they just like end and then you don't know what happens or they start and you don't know what's happening. It almost feels like this is more of like an outline to a story than an actual cohesive story. There's also situations that are discussed like her putting in an offer for the bake shop and then him buying the location out from under her where she doesn't even bring that up to him after it happens and she sees him. Also the FMC is TSTL in multiple scenarios in this book and none of them really makes sense.

This book was well written but i just could not deal with the FMC. She was a whinny twit. Her immediate outrage at the MMC was unbelievable and made her come off as an immature, spoiled brat. It's not actually bad, but it definitely needs polishing.
It started strong for me, then went gradually downhill, unfortunately. The plot is not tight. Their motives and feelings need justifications and accuracy.
Was he 12 or 17? What was the mom's motive? His phone password! Is he in the mafia or simply a guy with connections? How did he build his empire?

I enjoyed reading this book by a new to me author. The steam and revenge plot made for a good storyline. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

This book was not my cup of mafia romance. The grudge Dario holds is almost baseless. I get that he's mad with what happened and Lorenzo's "betrayal". However, they were kids! Lorenzo sided with his mother by force. He completely ruined Lorenzo's life over a lie. I didn't feel the spark between Ginny and Dario either. Ginny came off as a spoiled brat at times and the constant back and forth between the two of them got old really quick.

Dnf at 27% - it's like 10 year old polly pocket tried to write mafia erotica
I'm slightly under 100 pages in and questioning what I did in a past life to be subjected to such poor writing. This is a good example of bad writers making other indie and self published authors look bad.
The FMC is terrible. Whiney, greedy, idiotic, and completely self-deluding. She is convinced that she's going to be some self sufficient business person but relies on her brother to supply everything for her. She basically allows him to sell her off (no money technically exchanges hands but let's be honest with ourselves that it's not a love match) to a potential future politician who is a raging d-bag in the few pages we see of him.
Speaking of the brother - also a terribly written d-bag so far.
The MMC is oddly not the worst despite having solid antagonist vibes so far.
The storyline is basic at best, a rip off of other better novels at worst. It's just a mess of shallow subplots that aren't really interesting.
The writing itself is terrible. The author has terrible vocabulary skills, utilizing condensation instead of condescension. Her ability to track her own details is nil. At one point she's talking about someone named taylor and changes his name to mark in the next sentence. She has a terrible grasp on criminal entities in general, naming all of her characters with Italian names and then referring to their group as the cartel. She might as well call them the bratva. It's a mess of forced ideas without real coherent planning, like she tossed a bunch of ideas into a hat and wrote the book based on the first 10 that she pulled out.

One word Beautiful!
From page one I have love this story and I couldn't put it down and I even read it nice and slow so I could savior it more.Dario and Ginny's brother were best friends growing up till they were,so now they are bitter enemies, worst now that Ginny is in the middle of it.Dario wants revenge and he is there when her brother's world collapses to bring him down,but while this is going on Ginny almost gets blown up,kidnapped and her boyfriend at the time is useless and she breaks up from him.So when Ginny almost gets blown up,Dario is there to pick up the pieces so to speak,he gets Riza to sign agreement that he will marry Ginny and they will have to stay together for ten years,also Dario will fix the debts and the company that belongs to Ginny and her brother.But when Ginny fines out she is livid,she feels like a chess piece, like she isn't giving a decision! But she agrees to Dario's terms and she moves.This story is thrilling, lots of energy and a few surprises and happy ending for all three people!

C'est mon 1er livre de cette autrice.
J'ai bien aimé sa façon d'écrire. Le style est fluide, il ne s'attarde pas sur des détails insignifiant. Néanmoins, il y a certaines répétitions de phrase ou d'incohérences qui sont dommages.
Le titre nous laisse penser que l'histoire se passe sous fond de mafia, ce qui n'est absolument pas le cas. Ni Dario, Lorenzo ou Rinaldo ne font partie de la mafia. On peut les qualifier de "criminels" tout au plus.
Je n'ai pas ressenti d'alchimie entre les personnages de Ginebra et Dario. Les scènes de disputes sont longues, tournent en rond et on a l'impression de voir des enfants se disputer.
Malgré les quelques rebondissements, je me suis ennuyée. J'ai tout de même voulu aller au bout du livre. J'espérais voir l'histoire d'amour entre Ginny et Dario se développer.
Je m'attendais à une grande révélation concernant le conflit entre Lorenzo, le frère de Ginny, et Dario. Mais même-là, j'ai eut le sentiment qu'il y avait beaucoup plus de bruit pour rien

DNF at about 60%
I hated DNFing a book over halfway done, but I just had to do it. I felt very little connection to the characters, we were told the characters had strong emotions but I didn't feel them. Also, big events (a bombed car? the FMC being captured?) were talked about in almost a nonchalant, "oh yea this happened but we aren't going to address it really" kind of way. To me, those are major plot points and they were treated as if it's just another day for these characters.
After the FMC and MMC got together, it turned into a constant stream of smut and it just lost me. That, coupled with some very glaring typos, an entirely repeated paragraph, and just the repetitive explanations made this unreadable.

This is a most read book. The storyline and characters are terrific.

I finished this out of pure will. FMC was nothing but a walking tantrum. Everything she put her foot down it was more like a child throwing a fit. I'm not really arguing, just "f you tough guy, I'll make you regret it"
at one point, she goes to confront him about what happened between him and her brother and just doesn't ask at all just shouts at him about backing off. this guy that she thinks tried to kill her? common. at least ask questions.
then, at some point, her wanting to own a bakery justbdrops off the table, she doesn't even try to push for it. Just sulks. idk not for me. Found myself more annoyed than enjoying anything. spicy scenes seemed repetitive.

Ginevra finds herself getting married to a man she wants no part of but thanks to an agreement she has to honor it for her family's sake. Dario learns that she is no push over and gives as good as she gets. She is feisty and Dario loves her attitude. Will Ginevra and Dario's relationship turn into one that leads them to happiness. I found this story to be thrilling and filled with action-packed drama that drew me into it.

Quite the story
This to me was a different enemies to lovers with an arranged mafia marriage than others that I’ve read. Dario, our MMC, has it out for Lorenzo, the brother to our FMC Ginny. Ginny is ultimately the one that is arranged to marry Dario but she not the submissive little woman to go along with this. There’s a story around all the arranged marriage drama along with a story of what happened between Dario and Lorenzo. Quite a bit, but it does end without a cliffhanger and told with dual POVs.

Dario is a shrewd business man with Mafia ties. When an opportunity presents itself to exact revenge on an old childhood friend who betrayed him he takes it. Little does he know that his plan will backfire on him. This is an intriguing story full of twists, lust, violence and making peace with a past while falling in love. A page turner from start to finish. I received a copy from BookSprout and voluntarily give my review.

New to me author . I'm not disappointed. The story was really good. The plot, n the characters flowed really well. My only issue was it needed a bit more editing. It was irritating with sentences like ( they were chest to chest yet he was kidding between her shoulder blades ). Or ( he was tired to a chair yet was standing face to face ). Otherwise a good book. Definitely mafia type romance. HEA

It didn't keep my interest
I have never read anything by this author before and I bought all of the books in the series since they were only 99¢ each.I am stuck at 65% and rarely never finish a book.The female lead was massively unlikeable,ungrateful and screams alot.The writing was stilted,repetitive and flat-out boring.I skimmed the bedroom scenes.I just couldn't get into this book.I hope books #2 and 3 are better.

This was steamy, dark, spicy, and suspenseful - the perfect palate cleanser for a romance fan just looking for spice and a morally grey MMC. I loved the tension and the family drama. The author didn't do a lot of world building or character development so that was lacking, but it was still fun. Dario was the touch her and die MMC and Ginny was a sweet baker FMC that just wants to find family outside of her brother Enzo.

I absolutely loved this book! Dario is a big bad mafia guy and Ginevra is clueless as to what drove Dario and her brother Lorenzo apart all those years ago. She finally finds out closer to the end of the book. So much happens towards the end of the book and it turned out to be a great ending to a great love story!

WOW what a CAPTIVATING right from the very start of this mafia romance book this is. I am very impressed with how Kayla wrote this story, and the characters are HOT even though they were forced together. This book is packed with a whirlwind romance full of suspense, secrets and desires that make this one HOT, HOT read.

When revenge is on the menu,there's nothing to do but to eat every bite of whatever life throws at you. Dario is bent on making his former best friend and his sister for what their family has put him through. Like most well laid plans, things don't go as he wants. Love has a way of making even a strong Mafia man go soft. This is such a great story. Enjoy.
