“Why would a duke want a woman who was jilted by his brother?”
Pressured to marry for her sister’s sake, Lady Marina must accept the loveless match chosen for her. Only… the groom jilts her at the altar.
Beast. Monster. Abomination. After witnessing the ladies of the Ton fainting at the sight of him, the Duke of Harper knows he would not find a bride willing to marry him even if she walked into his study in her wedding gown.
So when Marina steps into his study demanding compensation for being jilted by the duke’s brother, he decides that she will do. His terms are no kissing, no lights, and no pets.

“To me, the Regency Era is more than just a historical setting. It is a place in time in which I can finally be myself.
A time of true romance that makes my heart skip a beat…”
This is your average run of the mill BATB story but I still enjoyed it very much because I'm such a sucker for the genre. The chemistry between the MCs was great, though I admit the male lead vexed me at times by giving the heroine lady blue balls countless of times....you'd think for once I wouldn't mind if the guy would just jump his wife's bones already!
Otherwise, the plot wasn't anything new. I was here mostly to enjoy the budding romance between beauty and a scarred Duke. Had the author given more thought to this story, perhaps it would have been truly worth a 4 star read.
Another thought provoking story by Ms. Levine. It tell of what wounds a parent can have on his children! The former Duke pitted his sons against each other, the loser received a beating, Aaron’s back bore the scars, and trying to save his brother at war scars on his right side of his face, a Beast to society. Marina after being left at the alter, storms into the Duke study demanding compensation, so he marries her instead!she agrees to protect her mother and sister Bromley vile uncle who inherited her father’s title and estate!Life will never be the same for either!
I absolutely loved My Beastly Duke. It’s one of the best historical romances I’ve ever read. The marriage-of-convenience trope was so well done, and the characters felt so real and emotionally complex. The brooding duke had just the right mix of vulnerability and strength, and the heroine was fierce and relatable. Their chemistry was electric, and I couldn’t stop rooting for them. The regency-era setting added so much charm, making it feel like I was transported back in time. If you’re a fan of heartfelt historical romances, this is a must-read. I do recommend reading it.
A captivating blend of Gothic romance and fairy tale magic, "My Beastly Duke" is Loretta Levine at her best. The brooding duke and spirited heroine share undeniable chemistry, and the atmospheric setting draws you into a world of secrets and passion. This is a must-read for fans of dramatic, sweeping historical romance.
The freaking typos were killing me! The story was a tad on the victim posture side. She tells him that his scars didn't matter and he just keeps wallowing in them. I think I would've eventually thought, "ok so you're telling me you think I'm a liar? If your scars haunt you I get it, but don't deflect your insecurities on me.*
It's been a while since I read an historical romance, but one that has vibes of Beauty and the Beast made me put aside my norm and go back. Aaron and Marina's relationship is turbulent and passionate. Both have yearnings for more and neither seem willing to surrender. Until that is, ... I will defintely look up the two previous stories in this series.
Well, all the elements (a brooding hero, a strong heroine, arranged marriage, love developing, a terrible past, sex, tears, suspense, villains, ....) are there, but it is becoming a bit monotonous. Even the sex scenes. Same same but different. As a stand-alone it is a three star, but as part of a series it is just too repetitive this book only gets two stars.
A wedding in place of another & slowly a trust begins to form- with the new bride & an awakening with the Duke’s younger brother. Lost in the war the Duke thinks love can never be for him but- the scarred Duke & Jilted Bride have a lot to learn about each other. Even Love!
I really enjoyed the plot line of this book but the writing left a lot to be desired in some parts. The mistakes were just too much to ignore which is frustrating because I love the way Levine usually writes.
Loretta Levine does it again. Great story and Great characters. Story doesn't drag on, makes you wanting to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. Can't wait for her to write more stories.
Deciding to marry the rejected bride of his brother was a spontaneous reaction for the lonely duke. He needed a heir but his extensive scars were a turn off for potential brides. His choice was wise and love prevailed.
Aaron the scarred Duke couldn’t believe he was good enough for Marina his beautiful wife and kept on pushing her away. A beautiful double love story full of emotions and passion not to be missed. I highly recommend.
Working Things Out. There was always something unexpected happening in this story that kept me reading on. The troubled situations Marina and Aaron find themselves in continue to expand and become more complicated. I really enjoyed the relative and relationship clashes as well as the reflective soul searching that helped make several HEA’s happen. Even the touches humour and fun banter made the story and characters much more realistic and relatable. The bonus extended epilogue was a treat that saw the promise made to each other realized.
I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging tale. The chemistry between the main characters was outstanding. They perfectly compliment each other despite their pasts and flaws. With not so subtle shades of Beauty and the Beast, the story unfolds almost like a fairy tale.
