Ruin is a dark high school, bully romance in the Crawford Brothers series. Lots of angst and drama, very emotional so, watch those triggers, unpredictable suspense with a HEA. This is Declan and Trixie's story and both MCs have dark sides that come from trauma but once they are together then some healing takes place.

TW: Self-Harm • Bully • Rape (off page) • Suicidal Thoughts • Knife Play • Physical Abuse (off page) • Child Porn • Child Abuse (off page)

Trixie has started a new school and has drawn the attention from a Crawford with being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She isolates herself because of her unbearable home life which makes her want to end her own. Trixie hides her beauty behind piercings and tattoos and has lost all will to talk.

Declan blames her for his car getting set on fire since she's part of the Goth clique. He sets his sights on her for revenge and will make her pay but he has to survive the summer first. He starts by leaving a flower on her car everyday, a deep blue flower which was the same color as his baby.

Trixie uses her art to take her out of uncomfortable situations but Declan makes her life miserable and is determined that she will pay her debt off to him by marking certain sexual items off of a list.

They both have heartbreaking trauma but Declan can't stay away from her and when his past threatens both of their lives, he will Ruin everyone who had a hand in trying to destroy their relationship.

i can't keep reading about an MMC who sexually assaults a girl who is already being raped at home, and thinks he's a hero for not raping her because apparently forcing her to do sexual things while she's crying and remembering her assaults at home is not sexual assault because it doesn't include penetration. she literally said what her step brother does to her is the same thing the mmc does to her, so why exactly is the mmc a hero and not a rapist villain like the step brother?

This is Declan and Trixie’s story.
Trixie has an unbearable life at home, which leaves her having lost the will to live, and starting a new school, she finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time and finds herself firmly in Declan’s sights when he blames her for his car getting burnt and is determined to make her pay.
This is a well written easy to read, action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family dynamics, friendships, intrigue, danger, suspense, angst, bullying, drama, hate, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, haunting, twisted, and unpredictable, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Wow! I haven’t read anything by this author before and very nearly swiped past this book but something pulled me back to it, and so I read it without knowing quite what to expect, all I can say was it was gripping from start to finish!

This is a story about a girl called Trixie who unknowingly drew the attention and ire of the schools resident bad boy Declan. You can’t really look at this book thinking of either Trixie or Declan as the teenagers they are (older/adult) as the trauma and abuse that they have suffered (independently of one another and very different kinds of abuse) throughout their early teens is not only unimaginable and painful (physically and mentally) but it also has a way of maturing them as they continue to suffer more than most adults would in their lifetime.

Trixie having long since discovered that her words had no impact has become entirely mute speaking only using ASL and notes and even then very rarely, preferring the anonymity that often goes hand in hand with silence. Ironically the only person who attempts to and is able to communicate with her is Declan, who decides to make her pay, for a prank committed against his beloved car.

Declan’s payment/punishments do not have the desired impact, instead he begins to see the person inside that Trixie is hiding and so begins their story, and what a story it is! It is filled with heartache and pain and tragedy and trauma but within the dark side of their story blooms a love so strong that if they are both able to overcome their history, find themselves within the darkness and lean towards each other they will both be stronger for it.

It does cover some pretty dark topics and on page trauma so absolutely check your triggers first, but I can honestly say that after devouring it in one sitting and immediately downloading another book from this author it was worth it.

This book is so crazy and fvcked up in another level but because I’m bored and need a dramatic crazy love story, i read it 😬
Wasn’t a great option? I think so. Wasn’t a great book to read? Nope, it wasn’t great. But it was a good one if you want to read very dramatic dark love story about two couple still in high school who are doing stupid things. And both never been in a serious relationship before. Being young in love and stuff but also there’s pain, hurt in the beginning of the story. Which makes me more curious to read until the end… Not only i wanna know about the pain behind the story, but i wanna know if the couple got the happy ending or not…
and if they don’t get the happy ending they deserve, i can write my frustrations about it 😂
They did have their happy ending but it wasn’t even a great one. No married and have kids like that, it’s literally only a month later. Which is not helping at all…
THIS STORY START WITH A HEAVY DARK PAIN. When i read the first words from the heroine’s POV I’m like okay this is very heavy and it is! and it’s getting more heavier than ever… Don’t expect this story to be rainbows and bubbles, it’s a dark romance for sure 🥶😶

The level of toxicity in this story is so different than Ava Selwyn books called Forever His Favorite. I mean that book had unsettling things in so many levels but this book right here is more toxic and dark. And not in a good way either 😑

At first, I really enjoyed reading this 🥺 it was definitely wild. I thought the relationship between them was making progress and hoped there would be more romance. I expected the couple to treat each other better and for things to improve (Especially with the hero). But sadly, that didn’t happen.
The couple only had a few small romantic moments toward the end, which wasn’t enough!!! Unfortunately, the story actually got worse as it went on. It felt like the author was allergic to giving the couple any real happiness. Because of that, I can only give this story 2 stars. My first attention was giving this book a 4 stars, because the lack of epilogue 🙄 BUT then when i read the r*pist, i give it 3 stars. BUT THEN I’M LIKE, wait… The lack of romance and throughout the course of the relationship is really complicated, 2 seems more reasonable and more better! 😑

It’s so rare for me to write reviews like this that is full of negativity. But this book needs to be a warning and needed to be fix! It’s just too wrong in so many levels 😑

AND ALSO THE ALMOST ENDING OF THE STORY REALLY PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. The amount of anger that i feel when I’m reading this book is super wild 💀
Let me explain, like the whole story there’s so many like sooo many amount of craziness and fcked up things happened here, THE AUTHOR decided to add in the almost ending story is very super fvcked up scenes 💀 NOT ONLY it is toxic and it just sooooo super UGLY. Read that again, super ugly.
Like author is disgusting with happy ending or something cause how the storyline goes is really so much negativity. I mean i did enjoyed the dramatics, the mystery and the whole loving bully romance sh*t, but why the almost ending of the story has to be like that tho?! Why? Haven’t you already put so many negativity already author 🤨
One thing i disgusted the most in this book that made me give this a 3 stars because i at first for the romance i want to give it 4 starts, is when the author include the rap*st POV. LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCK?! 😑😑
I have never ever read pov like that before and never i want to read it again in my entire life. It’s the most disgusting and disturbing POV ever. Like what are you thinking author to put something like that? Don’t you have empathy?!!!! AND IT WAS FVCKING DETAILED!!!! IT SHOULDN’T BE IN THERE!!! It pisses me off so much to where I don’t want to read from this author ever again. This is the last time i will be reading from this author!!!
Just that pov really ruins everything. So disappointing.
Note for the author: DON’T DO THIS AGAIN. This is very disgusting and a very bad idea. Don’t be stupid!!!!!! (Yelling) 😑 make sure the toxicity part of a rap*st stay out of the POV here, don’t add it and don’t ever put it here. you lucky author that I didn’t add this disgusting part in the first lines of my review cause trust me if i did, it won’t be pretty for you… my readers loves it when i review something bad in the first lines, go see it for yourself 💀
One of the reasons I didn’t is that i love the relationship in this story, not loving it for not 100% but i just love it only for 50%. I’m trying to give you a fair warning 🤨
And don’t give me the b*llshit “there’s first time for everything” BTCH SHUT UP. There’s a big difference when it comes with first time in life of anything. And that was not a great one. It was super ugly and super disgusting, SUPER!!

I almost really enjoy to the fullest with this story, cause in the almost ending story the couple (hero and heroine) looks so happy together finally and really healing after everything going on. AND THEN BOOM. The author really ruins it 💀 the author messed the whole thing up by adding rap*st pov and also more than that 🤮🤮
It’s like reading a scene where puff daddy is talking about those type of sh*t because the similarities is so spotted on! 🙄

THE STORY STARTS WITH the hero saw the heroine for the first time in a crime scene which it involves the hero’s car that the heroine’s friends did damage to. I love that it starts straight like that😂 And in that moment the hero have this interest on the heroine cause she was there and she didn’t do anything. It gives him the slight first interest about her… The heroine saw him too but they didn’t have this pull or eye touching moment. Nope 😶‍🌫️
Since then the hero made the heroine a target to become his toy for as long as he wants to. He literally made a list and immediately the next day went to action about it. He saw the heroine at the Cafeteria and spit on her mouth with her mouth open (he told her to open her mouth tho) and told her that she needs to repay everything for the damage and he got her a list to do things for him 😳
It also starts with the hero (sorry I’m going straight with this) with his family have this insane business that involves fighting and killing bad people. And it starts with the heroine really really have a bad life going on, like literally fvcked up thing is still going on in her life at the moment. So prepare yourself to see that because it’s a lot of that (idk why the author makes it a lot where it really is unnecessary for me).
SPOILER SORRY. One of the reasons why the hero also do this to the heroine (this is how i see it) because he lust for her big time and she is mysterious at school like Wednesday adam’s family mysterious, so he wants to break her 😓
He admitted to that as well. And also when the hero see parts of the heroine’s body, that really made him want her even more. Weird but anyhow…
The heroine want the hero too like slowly but surely like that 🤭is because the hero worships and adores her body. Just like what she needed him to be at this crucial moment in her life.
SO because the hero got the heroine like that and the heroine is also scare as sh*t with the hero, she agrees to do anything he wants her to do. And also in the end we get to see one of the reasons why the hero is like that with the heroine in the first place (SPOILER) is because the hero went through something very bad in the summer before school, and that made him changed a lot. It made him more depressed, empty and sad too.
Yeah i got it, i have sympathy for what he went through. But it doesn’t mean you have to treat the heroine like that tho.
This isn’t dating, it’s literally clear as a crystal that what the hero did in the beginning with heroine is a punishment, then turn into dating and real relationship.
Since that whole thing, they began this enemy-turn-into-romance-dating in real life thing. It was fun in the beginning and then it turn into a nightmare of a romance 🙄💀
During the course of the relationship, from the beginning and the end of the story it wasn’t pretty. Not pretty at all…
To be honest, the course of their relationship there are so many wrong things going on. The good things or the romance things are only a few which is so unfortunate! There’s more bad in it. Which disappointed me a lot 😥
The way they’re getting to know each other, the way it develops into a relationship and the way both of them with each other before and after the relationship it’s sooooo complicated. Like more complicated than quantum physics 😓
And for me personally, the roller coaster in this story is so incredibly insane.

I lost count on how many times the hero is so disrespectful to the heroine and treat her like sh*t all the time. He was also verbal abusing her too in the beginning which is super ugly. Even when she first give him a bl*w job, he just immediately throws her away and kicked her out from his house. Like what?! 😳
Many times he saw the heroine’s bruises and when the heroine lies about it, he believes her and okay with it. So blind!!! 🙄 The hero is also stupid for always saying “I’ve been with a lot of women, but not one of them felt this soft, nor did they smell this intoxicating.” 💀 Shut up. That is not unnecessary especially he always say that to himself and to the heroine for couple of times 🥴
THE MOST INAPPROPRIATE moment is also when the hero told his brothers that him and the heroine have s3x and how many times they did it. He said so casual! In front of the heroine as well! LIKE WHAT IS GOING ON 🤨 He didn’t say it on detail but still 😓
AND DON’T GET ME STARTS WITH the hero also saying so many times about he doesn’t want the heroine, the heroine is just a toy nothing more, then he wants the heroine. Like dude make up your mind 💀
THE HERO DID SAY the heroine is his obsession, favorite, like there’s many sweet romantic things and hot things he said about her. He did that say that tho…
THE MOMENT WHERE THE HERO REALLY START BE SERIOUS WITH THE HEROINE, is when he finally have s3x with her. After that, he takes things more serious about them and about her.
But the most fvcked up thing is that before he have s3x with the heroine, he was giving her silent treatment for days because he starts to feel for her… And then after the fight he have in the family business, his family invited him to go to a club with a lot of hook3rs. He saw the dancers, he didn’t touch them tho. Suddenly the heroine texted him that she needs his help, they meet and after that they have s3x. It was insane that the story goes like that 🥴 Where’s the romance there 🥴
The hero is very possessive tho but i don’t take that seriously at first before they got serious. Cause even tho he was like that, so possessive, he still treats her like garbage and they’re so complicated!!! So for me, i take the possessiveness more serious after they got serious (after the s3x). Before that, nope.
Did they’re in a relationship before or during this fvcked up game? No for the heroine. Kind of yes for the hero, he have a fvck up buddy that everyone knows in school knows about. She touch him one time, there’s a scene. But that touching is before the hero and heroine got serious.
This story have so many arguments, pain, hurt and very dark things that is not even good tho.

I read this book until the end because I was interested in seeing if it would have a happy ending. The plot twist was good, though not exceptional, but it was enough to keep me curious and engaged 😆
I expected the couple's relationship to improve significantly by the conclusion, but that did not happen 😬 While the situation did get somewhat better and the hero treated her slightly better, it was not sufficient. Additionally, I was mentally prepared for this type of story, which motivated me to continue reading. My mindset and emotions were aligned with continuing through the narrative. The gradual development of romance between the characters was enjoyable to follow. Overall, the story is quite intense, with many negative events occurring throughout 😓

‼️‼️‼️TRIGGERS: Strip club only one time tho, killing, many violence of fighting and and hurting people, rap* scenes and it is a lot about that too which is crazy, abuse, death, PTSD, knives especially the hero likes to play with the heroine with knives too, many suicidal thoughts and emotions and actions that the heroine did and kidnapping.

⚡️⚡️⚡️THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING MY REVIEW. Even if you hate my review i still say thank you so much cause you spend your time reading this one👻 I’m not a professional reviewer or professional reader. I’m just someone who likes to read novels that is safe and no cheating whatsoever. And many more that i like lol😆 I DID NOT GET PAID TO DO THIS. This is just basically me writing my review based on my personal opinion about the book if it’s safe or what I will write it all down just the way i like it 😏 I realize that my review might come across as pretty direct, and I don't claim to be a professional writer since I'm just sharing my own thoughts. If you find any negativity in what I've said about the book, just remember that we all have different perspectives. What I think doesn't have to align with your views. We all have our own preferences when it comes to books, just like we each have our unique perspectives. You can’t dictate what I should say in my review, and I shouldn’t tell you what to think either… I WILL NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT AND I WON’T EVER REPLIED TO IT. If you still don’t like what i write and my disclaimer here, IT’S A YOU PROBLEM. NOT MINE😙 HAVE A GREAT DAY❤️❤️❤️

If you read my reviews, you'll see they're pretty straightforward because I like to share a lot of details. When I really enjoy a book and write an extensive review, it means I truly love it 😍 that's just how I express my passion for things I care about. Just so you know, I'm not getting paid for any of this.

Types of book that I’m looking for: SAFE, safe all the way from the beginning till the end🥵 No cheating, no unnecessary childish drama. Not too much OW DRAMA cause they are loud and annoying lol. NO to still having feelings about a ex especially wants go get back together tf no. NO to friends with benefits and still seeing other people type of sh*t. NO to hero or heroine who said i love you and have been obsessed but still likes to fvck around yeah big NO to that sh*t. NOOO to still married or still in a relationship with someone else while liking the main character, yeah they have to be single since the beginning. NOOO to a long separation and have someone else they have s3x with during the separation. NOO to too many times of separation and breaking up sh*t. NOO to toxic narcissistic characters.
I preferred the characters are loyal to the core, over the top possessive heroes since the beginning and never stops, main characters have unique jobs or talents, the hero adores and obsessed with the heroine so much, the hero fell harder for the heroine and don’t want let her go and fight for her. And most importantly EPILOGUE AND ESPECIALLY THE DECADES LATER SCENE…. HAPPY ENDING IS A MUST. Chemistry is a must too 🙏🏼

I think this is one of the worst books I’ve read. From what I read from the blurb and reviews I was intrigued and excited to read this book, expect I was proved wrong! First of all the author hardly provides any details about the main characters even the side characters. Like who the hell is Declan’s brothers ?? What the hell does his family do and what the hell is the pit ??? Why can’t tixie speak ? And for some reason Declan can understand sign language - which the reason why is not even mentioned ?? Like hello there is no background info or anything to actually understand the characters !!

Second of all I can’t keep reading how the mmc sexually assaults the fmc who btw is getting r*** at home and some how the author thinks he’s the hero when he is practically doing the same thing that her step brother is doing - and I have read ALOT of dark romances to know when to draw the line between cnc/nc and just pure assault. All the interactions I’ve read between them is him just forcing himself onto her 👎🏽

so this will be a no from me xx

What an emotional rollercoaster ride this one was!! If you love them, dark and full of twists, then you definitely need Declan & Trixie's story!!

This might be my favorite book from the Crawford brothers series so far. I mean, Declan was an unexpected character who has the ability to be both dark and sweet at times, so he was so much fun to read. I mean, yes he is all about seeking revenge on Trixie, but even his revenge becomes a bit more complicated when their traumas start to heal one another and feelings develop. He may have started as her tormentor, but along the way, he unexpectedly becomes her savior in the most unlikely of ways.

Let me just say Trixie is a heartbreaking character to read at times, with everything she experiences from a young age to the present day, but the author handled her situation with such understanding and care that it's made her character's growth feel more realistic at times. I really loved that Trixie gives her all, no matter the circumstances she is put in. She may have felt alone and lost her voice, but Declan, in an unexpected way, breathes life back into her once again, giving her a hope she hasn't had in a very long time.

So if you are ready for some dark emotional moments with a fighting chance of a HEA, this is your book. Expect dark themes, bullying, SA, heartbreaking moments, trauma bonding, spice, and HEA. This is definitely a read responsibly book, so check TW beforehand if you need it. Highly recommend this one to those who love the darker side of romance.

Overall: 5/☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

Tropes: bully romance, touch her & die, HEA

Make sure to read trigger warnings. There are heavy descriptions of rape and physical abuse of a minor (from age of 10 written as flashbacks to current time in book as a sophomore in high school).

I don't usually like bully romances but I couldn't help but cheer for Declan and Trixie. They each have had incredibly hard struggles and through each other find the strength to push forward. The way Declan takes care of Trixie's problem, the way Trixie gives Declan perspective... chef's kiss.

I'm looking forward to getting stories about the rest of the Crawford boys, and getting an update on Ash's problem and whether Declan takes care of that too. A prequel of Cain and The Pit would be great!

DISCLAIMER: I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you’re looking for a story with an emotional roller coaster, then this is the one.

Declan is an MMC you don’t want to cross, after an incident with his car, which is set alight, he sets his sights on Trixie, blaming her, and he is determined to make her pay.

Trixie, having started at a new school, is determined to finish her senior year under the radar. She uses school as an escape from the unbearable life that she is living at home.

But Declan has other things on his mind, in the form of a list, a list that Trixie must follow to work off her debt to him.

What Declan doesn’t realise is that he is giving Trixie a reprieve from the nightmare that she is living, because for Trixie these stolen moments are all she has to make her feel alive.

Declan’s focus on Trixie manifests feelings that has taken a hold of him in a way that he never expected, and it is a feeling that he can’t, won’t shake off, because Declan has come to the realisation that she calms him in a way no other person has and now he has claimed her as his.

Just as everything seems to be looking up for Trixie, a jealous classmate exposes her deepest darkest secret, which causes her to react. However when Declan learns the whole truth, from Trixie as to why she stopped talking and what she had been enduring at home, Declan’s blood boils beneath the surface. But in the face of Trixie’s trauma he must remain calm and support her.

With his brothers by his side do they remove Trixie from the toxic environment that is her family home. Trixie’s father learns the harrowing truth of the pain she endured under his roof at the hands of his wife and her son Robert, at this point in time his help has come a little too late.

As Trixie is beginning to feel safe in the arms of Declan and the comfort of his home and family, a threat to Declan draws him and his brothers away from home, only do they not realise that it was a ruse, and when it costs Declan of a man that he considered family, and with Trixie’s life in danger, he’s all but holding on by a string.

But they say revenge is a dish best served cold, because Declan gives Trixie the justice she deserves, with the toxicity out of her life and having severed all ties with her father, Trixie is finally able to breathe, living her life in comfort and happiness with Declan.

Declan and Trixie’s story evoked a lot of thoughts, feelings and emotions. The author wrote such sensitive topics respectfully which supported the characters growth and development. Through pain and trauma they found not only love with each other, they healed each other in a way they didn’t expect, both finding the peace they deserve.

I loved how Declan breathed life back into Trixie. He loved and cherished her making her feel beautiful, that she is the only woman he sees, that is worthy of everything he has to give. Because those spicy scenes were a spicing, not only that they were primal, carnal, pure unadulterated pleasure and passion, they have both knew how to give as good as they got, Declan meeting his match with his girl who loves it hard, rough and dirty, just like him

Highly recommend both the author and the book. Looking forward to reading what this author writes next.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

I found you through Rich Boy, and I love that story. Now, I find this story of Trixie and Declan, and it's just as good. I don't know how Ruby does it, but she has me falling in love with each couple and their very tumultuous journey. This one is very dark and not for the faint of heart. Enjoy.

Thank you to Ruby Wolff and Literally Yours PR for my copy of Ruin to read and review!

I do want to start this review off by acknowledging that this is a very dark book. While there is a trigger page that lists certain aspects of the book (rape and physical abuse) as off-page, they are very detailed and prevalent in the book, especially during the first half. If you choose to read this one, please be mindful of your triggers and limits as you go about reading with this one.

Ruin follows Trixie as she starts a new school and quickly gets on the bad side of Declan Crawford, as her group of friends sets his car on fire as revenge. With her in his sight and a traumatic summer under his belt, Declan offers a way for Trixie to repay him for his prized possession, knowing she won’t like it, but to his surprise, she doesn’t put up a fight. However, what he doesn’t know is there’s a sinister reason why.

Overall, this was a good dark romance. Definitely not for someone being introduced to the subgenre or still fairly new to it. Even as a seasoned veteran, it was a bit much for me at times, but that’s why we’re mindful of our limits and take breaks when we need to!

I feel kind of bad saying I liked the story, because it was so dark and twisted, but I did. It was nicely paced and kept my attention from start to finish. Truthfully, I liked Declan’s chapters more, but I think that’s because of how much trauma is packed into Trixie’s, some of which really resonated with me. I liked the mystery elements surrounding the Pit and who was coming after Declan.

I am looking forward to reading Lethal whenever it comes out!

Declan is a little menace and Trixie doesn’t have time for it. Our girl Trixie is being harmed at home and it’s not right. Question I have already, Trixie doesn’t speak but she signs, why? Trixie’s stepmother is a horrible woman and that son of hers needs a stay in The Pit. Heck her daddy ain’t much better. Declan is messing with Trixie for having a hand in blow up his car but at the same time someone is messing with his head and wants him dead. Declan is putting Trixie through it and not only that poor girl is going through it at home as well. Her idiot of stepbrother doesn’t know to keep his hands to himself. Declan is bullying Trixie and she hates him and thinks he’s got to be just like her stepbrother. Declan enjoys pushing Trixie’s buttons. He makes her do some things that aren’t the nicest but he has line that he will not cross. At a party Declan catches Trixie smoking green( her coping mechanism to deal with her home life) he goes ballistic, he decides to stay away from her. This is exactly what she wanted wrong the starts to miss him( vice versa). Trixie reaches out to Declan for help when she has car problems. After this moment they decide we together. Y’all a whole slew of things happen once they get together. If it’s not one thing it’s another. I mean crazy mafia families, death, fights, ladynapping, ears in boxes. You name it happens. In the end these two are finally together and are happy and healing together. I love how once a Crawford man finds their forever the family is right there with open arms and will protect them at all cost. The was definitely an unconventional love story but it is a love story nonetheless.

There's dark romance and there is torture porn - this falls in the second category. Maybe the romance part came later but there was no way I was going to waste time finding out...

Also, for the record - the rape and physical abuse are not off page as advertised by the author!!!!

****Possibly Spoilers Ahead****

Characters - super stereotypical! There's Trixie - the goth girl who can't talk (or something), is super creative and is abused (physically and/or mentally) by all male characters around her. It must be that sweet smell that attracts all these predators ... Everything bad that can happen to a character has literally happened to this poor girl already in the beginning of the book. Then we have the underground fighting, panty melting, infinitely rich, mechanically adept jock Declan who unfortunately has zero emotional intelligence. For a bad boy/sex god this dolt sounded somewhat too vanilla when panting over Trixie's piercings.... Oh, and for some undisclosed reason, golden boy is the only one who can communicate with the poor girl through sign language. Match made in heaven that starts strong with degrading and abuse! 👍🤢

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Declan and Trixie. Your heart is going to break for Trixie. Her home life is horrible. I don't even know that I have the words to say how horrible it is. She has a stepbrother that you are going to absolutely hate. She really has lost the will to live. However, she is starting a new school but soon learns that school might be just as bad as home in some ways. When she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, she ends up in Declan's sights since he is convinced that she has set his car on fire. If it's the last thing he does he is going to make her pay. Declans is a great character who at times will give you whiplash as he can be a total psycho one second and a really sweet guy the next.. I loved seeing the growth in these characters and they do really bring out things in the other that they didn't know they were missing. I loved how he seems to bring the best out in her. He sees her and listens to her and gave a voiceless girl her voice back. This is a dark romance too, but also super emotional. You do not want to miss this book.

This is a very dark romance that pulls at your heart strings. Trixie has a horrific home life. She's mute & there's a reason for that. Once Declan sets his sights on her, there is no stopping him. He really is hard to like at the beginning. Lots of drama to unpack & a lot happening throughout the storyline.

Believe it or not what starts as enemies to lovers, soon turns into Declan burning down the world for her. He accepts her for who she is, black clothes, lots of makeup, tattoos & piercings. Trixie also comes to need his touch & loves that she feels safe with him. She accepts what he's capable of & what he does for his family, speaking of, the Crawford brothers are always a hoot & all unhinged. But the family is always there for each other. The best found family that Trixie could ask for.

Trixie gets what she needs, a new life & Declan finds the love of his.

Check those triggers!!!!

OMG !! To say that I was literally just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away does not even start to describe how truly fantastic this story was and is !! All the intrigue and suspense, the dark raw and gritty moments, the secrets, the danger , the love , the passion, the pain , the twists and turns, the heartbreak the drama , the obstacles, the layers and complexities of not only the story but each character as well . I have to say I really was not prepared for the degree to which I was going to end up falling for Declan and Trixie . The things they went through apart and together, the way said things literally pulled on on all my heartstrings, had me devouring every single word , made me feel like I was on the craziest ride at the amusement park ,anticipating what was going to happen from one second to the next truth be told no words can even start to describe all the reasons you simply need to and should read Ruin!’

Bully to lovers. Found family. Touch her and die. Trauma. This is a dark romance. New school. New girl. Why not seek revenge on the new girl? She may have not physically did the deed, but she was still with the group who destroyed Declan's property. All Trixie wanted was to keep her head down and finish the school year. Declan has other ideas for Trixie, and eventually realizes he only wants her. His family can see he's falling for her. Trixie eventually realizes that Declan is safe, compared to her home life. Declan has to deal with the family business at the same time. Declan tries to stay away from Trixie because he's not good for her. When Trixie's car breaks down, who does she count on to come rescue her? That's when they both realize they need each other and they begin helping each other deal with their problems, and get their eventual HEA.

Mind the trigger warnings.

High School Bully
Past Trauma
Dark Romance
Crime Family
Grumpy/Grumpy
Enemies to Lover

Main Characters
Trixie
Declan

The angst and trauma of this story will trigger some people. Pay close attention to the author’s list. For those who like very dark reads, this is a wild ride.

Both characters are damaged. Trixie is the one that you hits your soul. Her situation is treacherous. I was so angry and hurt for her.

Declan made it hard for her. However, you know he is going to eventually come through. He had to fight his own demons. The getting there was a tough wait.

Danger, fear, angst make this twisted story an entertaining read. It’s very dark and emotional.

4.5/5⭐️

This book is dark and deals with some heavy issues so please check triggers before going in!

Trixie deals with a lot and the poor girl keeps pushing forward, she has her ways of dealing with the pain that are not a light topic either.

From all her trauma she doesn’t talk anymore until Declan makes her feel safe enough and she starts saying a few things which he loves.

When Declan sees her with people that lite his car on fire he makes her guilty by association!

He starts off being a total bully towards her but ends up falling HARD and becomes super protective.

Someone is messing with Declan also so you go through that journey of them trying to figure out who it is.

Thank goodness Robert got what he deserved and that’s all I’m gonna say………..

“I love her Hayden, I can’t lose her.”

Ruin is raw, dark, and emotionally gripping in the best possible way. Ruby Wolff doesn’t just tell a story she pulls you straight into the broken inner worlds of Declan and Trixie and refuses to let you look away. From the very first lines, the tension is sharp, unsettling, and impossible to ignore. The dual perspectives give the story real weight, allowing readers to understand the pain, anger, and fear driving both characters.

What stood out most for me was the emotional honesty. Trixie’s struggle with despair feels heartbreakingly real, and Declan’s haunted past adds layers that make him far more than a typical antagonist. The story balances darkness with vulnerability in a way that feels brave and intentional. Ruin isn’t just a book you read it’s one you feel long after you close it.

Trixie is the new girl at school and because of her new friends she's already gained an enemy with the popular guy. Declan, knowing it wasn't Trixie who pulled the stunt has set her as his main target. While he may be bullying her she eventually starts to feel safe with him. Trixie hides her home life and what she endures behind closed doors. Declan becomes her safe space and protector once he finds out. I will say based on what Trixie goes through to please read the trigger warnings because it is a huge part of her story. Trixie and Declan's story in Ruin was really good and so worth the read.

Ruin by Ruby Wolff is not a love story in the traditional sense—it’s a descent into the darkest parts of trauma, obsession, and survival. The heroine, Trixie, is a selectively mute girl bearing invisible and visible scars from her home life. At school, she becomes entangled with Declan Crawford, a dangerous, unpredictable force who decides she’ll pay for something she didn’t do—with her body and her will.

What unfolds is a vicious game of control, intimidation, and raw attraction between two deeply broken people. Declan isn’t just a school bully—he’s trained to destroy, and Trixie is already surviving a private war of her own. The emotional weight of this story is heavy, the pacing relentless, and the atmosphere claustrophobic.

OMG! This book was awesome!! It's Declan & Trixie's story & they had one to tell! Her homelife is truly horrific & she doesn't speak. She starts a new school & her friends end up doing something awful to Declan's property; that was a mistake, he's not someone you mess with. He sets his sights on her & it doesn't start off good. This is a very dark book, the things she goes through isn't for the faint at heart. Declan's family has its own secrets & she eventually finds it all out. But he ends up being the best thing to happen to her & the found family for her was fantastic. I highly recommend this book & author!!

Buckle up because Declan and Trixie are about to take you on a wild ride!!! Make sure you read those trigger warnings.

I absolutely loved this book. Declan was such a surprise because he could be so cruel yet he had these moments where his goodness would shine through. I adored Trixie and my heart hurt for all she went through, especially at home.

Ruin put me through an emotional rollercoaster. I love this series and Declan's story did not disappoint. There's love and hate, twists and turns, drama and suspense. A page turner that I couldn't put down. Can't wait to see whose story is next!

“I’m going to ruin you for everyone.” I stand back up, looking down at her…”

I have one word to describe this book… WOW! I was not expecting ANY of the things that happened in this story and I was on the edge of my seat the entire book! I couldn’t put it down!! It is DARKKKKK and there’s a LONG list of trigger warnings to read before you dive in, but if your list of triggers is super short this is a book for you!! I absolutely loved Declan and Trixie’s story. I wanted to hold her, hug her and take her away from everything going on and that’s exactly what Declan and his family does for her!! Loved the mute representation and all the sign language!! Cannot wait to see what brother is next!!

Absolutely incredible!
🖤 enemies to lovers
🖤 mute FMC
🖤 slightly unhinged MMC
🖤 found family
Ruin, an all-new enemies to lovers, dark bully romance and the second book in the highly anticipated Crawford Brothers World from bestselling author Ruby Wolff.

What an emotional ride! This book was very intense and had my heart in a chokehold. As much as Declan's manipulation and blackmail of Trixie often had me not liking him (like not at all), as the story progressed, he grew on my, and his vulnerabilities made him so likeable.
This book is loaded with emotions, plot twists, relationships, heartbreak, pain and trauma. Hang in there, it's a ride!

🖤Please read CW/TW prior to reading as there are dark themes that may be upsetting or triggering for some. Please take care.

Declan is my favorite by far from any of Ruby Wolff's characters. He was charming, flirty and downright filthy. There was nothing in this world that he wanted and couldn't get. But one day the wrong person crossed him and it was game on.

Trixie was trying her hardest to not fit in and trying to keep to herself. The last thing she wanted or needed was attention, but one day an unexpected event happened and she happened to be there at the wrong time and Declan blames her and now she's going to pay for what he thinks she did.

Trixie has lived a pretty horrific life living with her dad, stepmom and stepbrother. One day something happened and when she went to her dad about it he didn't believe her so she decided that she wasn't going to speak ever again. She used sign language for everything and lucky for her Declan knew sign language too.

He used Trixie to his advantage and made her do unspeakbable things and although Trixie was very different from the typical normal girl, Declan was still fascinated with her. She started growing on him.

Little by little he was falling for her but then danger lurks in and Declan needs to watch himself, but in order to get to Declan they Trixie was the one who ended in danger's hands.

And the danger begins!

I absolutely loved Ruin and it's the best book I've read so far (besides Rich Boy).

It has been a long time since I've read a story by Ms. Wolff.

Let me tell you, I have to read every book in this series!

If "Ruin" is an indicator, I'm going to be immersed in this world for many satisfying hours!

Enemies-to-lovers, bully romance is a favorite of mine.
I just love the angst that comes with these tropes!

And Trixie, my gosh was her life a challenge. MAN!

Declan targets her. But...
Well, you just have to read to find out what happens with these two.

Will tragic become beautiful!?

I believe Trixie 100% deserves all the attention for this book. She is one of the strongest characters I have ever read. Ruby Wolff tore my heart apart with this one.

I know I normally say a lot about a book in a review, but honestly I'm still reeling from this one. I'm so happy that Trixie found someone to stand up for her and give her the love she needs.

The Crawfords provides sass, laughter, and a good dose of violence. I fall more in love with this family after every book. I'm excited to see where the series goes.

PLEASE check the trigger warnings for this one.
