What can I say...I am still all up in my feeling about this book and the previous book as well.
Amelia is someone who has survived a childhood that no one should even have to survive. Then walks in Barnette, who brings her into a world that she refused to join but over time grows and becomes the women she so deserves to be. Having the love of Barnette is one thing but the love of Dean is a whole different beast. Having two men that love you in different ways makes for a trio any girl would be jealous of.
After Andrea, Amelia's daughter - the product of an assault when Amelia was a child, is kidnapped by her sperm doner, this is when events start to happen. At the same time, Amelia's sperm doner comes into the picture and all hell breaks. When this happens, Andrea is found, Andrea's her sperm doner disappears, and Amelia's sperm doner wants to make a truce. That goes just as good as you would expect...NOT!!!
While, trying to get revenge on Andrea's sperm doner, a member of the trio is lost. Amelia and Barnette are heartbroken, but Barnette takes it harder then one would expect from a broody and bad ass that he is. Disappearing to The Office, Barnette disappears into himself but Amelia is not having this. She shows up and with the help of her partner in crime, Derrick, she give Barnette a show he will never forget and this brings him back to life.
Amelia and Barnette locate Andrea's sperm doner and what Amelia does to him make my dark heart melt. Knowing that Dean would want them to be happy, Barnette and Amelia get married and just as they are in the process of looking for revenge against Amelia's sperm doner, someone they lost returns with a late wedding present.
While I wish this story never ended, I am happy it ended the way they did. I am longing for the story of Dean from the time he went down to the time he returned from the dead. Sierra has become one of my favorite authors and her writing hits you in the soul you didn't know you needed.
Please remember that some content in this book is not for everyone so make sure to read all the trigger warnings (heavy on child SA). Your mental health matters and it is ok not to finish a book if the subject matter becomes too heavy.
