DNF. This book probably isn't bad BUT it's just not the one for me. It keeps talking about animals and I'm honestly bored 😭😭😭 like I don't want to read about that tbh

After being dragged through the mud once again, Shepherd Foster- billionaire CEO of Home Shepherd, needs help rebuilding his image, so reminding the world and his board members of his generosity through humanitarianism, was the way to go.
When Destiny Lancaster is selected for the Young Influencers Program offered by Home Shepherd, it's a whirlwind of photo ops and interviews. But she has yet to meet the man in charge. She knows of Shepherd's reputation, which has been getting lots of press lately, but Destiny is just excited for the opportunity and a chance to help a cause that is near and dear to her heart. Besides, she's been around billionaires all her life, what's one more? Well, this particular billionaire has no time in his life for entanglements. His backstory, though private, is very scandalous. Destiny and Shepherd have met before and he's come to like her fighting spirit and her ability to take no prisoners, especially when it comes to him. She's wearing him down. It doesn't take much though, he's already interested more than he should be. Destiny is a breath of fresh air, air that Shepherd desperately needs. He likes her and that's going to be a problem. Destiny may just be more temptation than he can handle.

WOW! This book is amazing!!! Lots and lots of action, and twists you won't see coming...and it is SMOKING HOT💥🔥😏 Grumpy, alpha Cole's little girl Destiny is all grown up and ready to take on the world. Destiny is smart, funny and Shepherd's new obsession. He just needs to get over the older man/younger woman thing.
I highly recommend this fantastic read!!!

This book was tantalizingly cute, sinfully sassy and wonderfully funny. Quite simply I thought that this book was plain delightful. Incandescent with fiery sparks and sharp with witty banter, this read was the perfect way for me to unwind and brighten my not-so-great day.

Shepherd is described as jet black hair with steely blue eyes with a slight scar in his early 40s. Not getting that vibe from the cover model. He actually resembles the book model on Destiny's dad's book. She is the daughter of Cole Lancaster (One Bossy Dare, book #2 in series). She wins an contest at Shepherd's company & it's a 17 yr age gap between them that goes from enemies to lovers. This story wasn't as good as the others in the series. Too much environmental stuff and his backstory kind of dragged on. The book could've been about 200 pages shorter and done without the usual angst of "oh we can't be together because I'm not good enough". It takes a near tragedy to bring them full circle.

Shepherd and Destiny. CEO and influence. Destiny wins an internship at Shepherds company. She is avid about saving extinct species. Her idea is to use stones to track animals. But another influencer tries to ruin her.
Stars deducted for the overuse of drama. Pages of it. Freak out by Destiny and rage by Shepherd. The book could have been 75 pages shorter and much better. Also, the overuse of "the best______ of my life." Of course, that phrase seems to appear in all new romance novels.

I loved it

This story has everything I’ve come to expect and love from Nicole Snow. It was fun and funny and sad and sweet. It was extra fun for me when I realized why parts of Destiny’s background seemed so familiar. It was great to revisit the Lancasters

Another scrumptious, grumptious romantic comedy done in the Snow way
If you liked “One Bossy Dare” and wanted to meet teen Destiny as an adult, this is a must-read. If you like Nicole Snow’s romantic comedies, this is a must-read. If you like books that are so well written that you cannot stop reading, this is a must-read! This time we get to meet 25yo Destiny in her own uncompromising way tame the grumpalicious 42yo Shepherd Foster. Best. Book. Ever! But then again, I say that after reading every Snow book. Ms. Snow excels at delicious snarky, clever and witty banter. There are so many OMG moments it is hard to recount. A few of note are when Shepherd sees Dess in a wet suit or how about on the beach in chapter 9 or in the forest in chapter 10 or the conversation in chapter 11? There are many more descriptive intimate moments if you need steam. Also, by chapter 18 this book becomes a thrilling page-turner.
As always, people and events conspire against them but they have both had tragedies in their past which has only made them persevere. Love the play on one villain’s name: Dumas. Say it as it looks…hmmm…Perfect reflection of how I felt about this character! Love Ms. Cho and Molly. I’ll be remembering this book for quite a while. I volunteered to review an ARC of it.

We're back in The Bossy books and this time, it's Destiny & Shepherd's story.
Destiny is an animal loving blogger/influencer who comes from money but is determined not to just live of her dad which I found admirable and is just a nice person.

And then we have Shepherd, the grumpy billionaire owner of Home Shepherd, who finds himself at the center of a relationship scandal - which is all nonsense!

These two are thrown together when she wins a temporary placement in his company and although they're opposites, they're still very much the same!

This opposites-attract / grumpy-sunshine / age-gap suspenseful and fun romance is definitely a good read. 3.5stars.

This is another amazing story from author Nicole Snow. She brings awesome characters to life that delight and wow her readers. This story is a billionaire romance with age gap between the two characters. Sheppard is a handsome and grumpy billionaire with a woman problem. Destiny is the daughter of a billionaire who is looking to start a wildlife reserve. The two provide great dialogue of rapier wit. They also have steamy scenes as they build up their relationship. They also face danger as someone is out to kill them. Readers will thoroughly enjoy reading this page turning story to the last exciting page.

I loved Destiny in "One Bossy Dare", her father's love story and am so happy she got her own book. Destiny is one tough woman who doesn't give up. She definitely needs that attire with Shepherd, who is closed off and prickly. These two send sparks flying from the start and can't help getting their hearts involved in the heat between them even while being plotted against from within Shepherd's business. Loved this book. I freely reviewed this book.

Nicole Snow
3.5 stars
Nicole Snow has made a successful career out of writing enemies to lovers romances with grumpy male protagonists (often the boss.). I’ve enjoyed many of her books which is a bit ironic because as a straight male I find annal retentive and emotionally closed off male protagonists annoying. And in this age of the “Me Too” movement and the “Cancel Culture” I’m a bit surprised at the lasting popularity of romances involving male bosses and their female subordinates. That said I found this book to be fun, sexy and entertaining. But I thought the main premise of the story and a few other plot points made absolutely no sense. And that’s saying something for a story in a genre where things making sense is not a prerequisite as long as in the end the main protagonist live happily ever after.
Shepard Foster is a handsome 42-year-old billionaire C.E.O. of Homes Sheppard based in Seattle. He also has the social skills and disposition of an ogre with the temper of a two-year-old. Because he is rich, single and good looking a lot of women think he’d make for good husband material and throw themselves at him. Foster engages a beautiful if modestly successful actress to pretend to be his girlfriend to help cut down on those pesky female predators. The agreement is she’ll accompany him to public functions posing as his girlfriend and in return he’ll help raise her public profile and give her an in with people who can help her career. It’s supposed to be a platonic business arrangement of mutual benefit. But then the actress goes off script and attempts to seduce Shepard. He rejects her advances. She goes public with a totally made up story about how she thought they were in love, had a lot of sex, he proposed to her and then just dumped her. None of which was true. Of course Foster can’t tell his side of the story because telling people he used a woman as a shield to deflect the attention of other women really isn’t going to play much better in the court of public opinion. The paparazzi eats the B.S. story up. This creates a public relations nightmare for Foster that threatens his company’s stock and his position as the C.E.O. of the company he founded. So far that’s pretty standard contemporary romance fare. But here’s where IMHO the story goes completely off the believability rails because it just didn’t make any sense to me.
Shepard’s extremely efficient, brilliant and willing to tolerate him E.A. Hannah Cho suggests they hold a contest for some lucky internet social influencer to come shadow Foster for a few months to learn the ins and outs of being a C.E.O. Just in case they want to start their own company I guess. There’s also a $2 million prize to be donated to the charity of the influencer’s choice. Although the logic completely escapes me how somehow mentoring this influencer and the big charity prize is supposed to improve Foster’s public image and make people forget about the fiasco with the pretend girlfriend. In a way the millions of dollars Foster already donates to multiple charities around the world hasn’t.
The contest is won by one 25-year-old Destiny Lancaster. Destiny is beyond beautiful, and brilliant. She’s also sophisticated and confident as only a 25-year-old who grew up the daughter of a billionaire would be, Destiny is a fierce advocate for the environment, wildlife in particular, which she uses her social platforms to promote. Before the contest she and Foster had a brief run in when she saw him getting ready to go out on Puget Sound in his kayak despite the Coast Guards posted warnings against it. She tries to warn Foster whom in his tack less way tells her to mind her own business. How dare this young woman worry about his safety? Weeks later when Destiny officially meets Foster for the first time after winning the contest things do not go well. He wants her removed on the spot. She rightfully thinks he’s another rich, arrogant if handsome ass. He thinks the last thing he needs is to be seen with another beautiful woman in his life to further degrade his public image. And this particular woman has already annoyed him by refusing to be cowed by him. It takes Cho to talk him down and walk back his decision to dump Destiny and find someone else. Yet despite his apparent dislike of Destiny he agrees to go on an overnight trip by kayak to an island off the coast of a national forest bordering the Sound to use some of his company’s prototype equipment to help locate elusive sea otters. Because telling someone who has never kayaked before that they’re going out on the ocean in kayaks on a trip that will take them all day to arrive at their destination is a perfectly sensible idea. If hiring a social influencer to raise his public image wasn’t strange enough. Agreeing to go on an overnight camping trip alone with a beautiful young woman who is his intern, when he’s trying to avoid bad publicity over his dating life really makes no sense at all to me. But that’s the story and Ms. Snow is sticking to it.
If you’ve already read the blurb for this book you know what happens when Sheppard and Destiny spend a couple of days alone together on the isolated island. And even though they tell each other things will go back to normal when they return to work on Monday, because the last thing Foster needs is another public scandal about banging his much younger intern, neither of them can keep their hands off of each other for very long. And if you like your romances steamy, there’s plenty of steamy scenes in this one. I know this is an opposites attract trope and Sheppard would make Chris Hemsworth envious of Foster’s handsome face and huge muscled body and Destiny would make Margo Robbie feel insecure about her looks, Sheppard to this point with few exceptions has hardly done anything that would make me believe Destiny would want to have sex with him, forget about actually falling in love with him. But again, that’s the story. Hey, it is a contemporary romance fantasy after all.
Other than the sexy stuff I thought the best parts of this story may have been the scenes full of who done it suspense and life threatening drama, which I’m not going to give away here and spoil the book for you. And I can’t believe I’m saying this because the H.E.A. is the biggest reason I read contemporary romance, but I felt like Snow may have dragged this one out a bit too long even for me. Nah, you can never have to much Happily Ever After. Which I proved by downloading the fast forward additional epilogue to get a little more of Sheppard and Destiny’s H.E.A.

Wow! Shepherd & Destiny’s Romance Has It All – Steamy Enemies-To-Lovers Chemistry, A Darling Husky, A PR Crisis, Behind-The-Scenes Influencer Drama, & Danger. Their Story Is A Great Ending To The Series, Providing A Bit Of Closure Since We Get To See Destiny Go From Troubled Teen In Book 2 To Thriving Adult In This Book. Don’t Forget To Download The Free Flash-Forward Via The Link At The Back Of The Book!

This is the fifth and final book in the Bossy Seattle Suits series. It is Shepherd Foster and Destiny Lancaster’s story.

This is a series of interconnected standalones, so you can read out of order. However, note that this book is a follow-up to One Bossy Dare - book two - which is Cole Lancaster and Eliza Angelo’s story. This is a second-generation story. Destiny is the daughter of the billionaire CEO of Wired Cup, Cole Lancaster. He got a second chance at love with Eliza, who is eleven years his junior. Coincidentally, eleven years have passed since Cole and Eliza’s story began. They are now living their happily ever after while raising their own two children, Elijah and Nicole.

Destiny’s story opens in early summer.

Destiny Lancaster, twenty-five, is making her own way in life. She has a trust fund she barely touches and an old VW Bug she affectionately named Ladybug. She was raised in privilege, but she never became terribly attached to status or material things. She has no interest in the family business, either. Instead, she is creating a career centered around her love of wildlife. After going to college in Hawaii and grad school at UC Davis, she launched her career as a social media influencer, bringing awareness to endangered animals. She posts about animals, conservation, nature, and a small dose of her personal life. She is careful to guard her privacy as much as is practical. Her new husky is a fan favorite. Eventually, she hopes to run her own marine nonprofit. She knows that requires good business sense, and to that effect, she has learned a lot from her father, but she cannot count on his objectivity when it comes to her. Nor will she ask him for a handout to fund her dream. She plans to put in all the hard work herself.

Shepherd Foster, forty-two, might be devastatingly handsome, but he is also cold and intimidating. He had a string of bad luck earlier in life, and he learned some hard lessons as a result. A short stint in the Irish mafia, working for his Uncle Aidan, led to a year in witness protection followed by enlisting in the Marines. He translated the discipline he learned in the service to success in business, and eventually, he started Home Shepherd, a global security company. He doesn’t see marriage in his future; he tried that once. He happily centers his life around work. As a billionaire CEO, however, he is now the most eligible bachelor in Seattle. Women clamor over him, but he is tired of the attention. They all want something from him. The fake relationship with Vanessa Dumas seemed like the ideal solution to quell the interest, but despite the contract and the NDA, Miss Dumas tried to turn their mutually beneficial arrangement into something real. Scorned by his rejection, she took to a very public campaign of lies about him. He doesn’t want the situation to damage his company, but unfortunately, there is no good way to defend his name against her smears.

Shepherd’s brilliant assistant, Hannah Cho, comes up with the perfect solution to their PR crisis: distract the media and squash the fires with the creation of a new Young Influencers program, sponsored by Home Shepherd. One chosen influencer will earn the privilege of shadowing the CEO for several months. Since the company is already involved with many charitable activities, the influencer will have the opportunity to learn the business skills necessary for running a nonprofit. At the end of the apprenticeship, Home Shepherd will then make a donation of two million dollars to the influencer’s chosen charity. The positive buzz the program garners will hopefully help move the smears against Shepherd out of the headlines.

When Destiny is chosen for the Young Influencer program at Home Shepherd, she never anticipates that the CEO will be the grouchy and callous man she exchanged words with weeks earlier. People like him infuriate her. Yet as she begins to get to know him better, she realizes that there is much more to him than she had realized. They both share of love of wildlife, and Shepherd turns out to be more humble than arrogant, to her surprise. But just as they begin to realize how much they have in common, she gets dragged into a horrible scandal that threatens the squeaky-clean image that her followers have come to expect from her. Shepherd and Destiny must battle the media as they attempt to identify who is behind the scandal, but things get more serious when danger surfaces. The couple faces many personal and professional challenges, but they eventually find a happy ending.

Don’t forget to download the free fast-forward bonus scene via the link at the back of the book!

Wow! Shepherd and Destiny’s story is a great ending to the series. There is a little bit of closure since we get to see Destiny go from troubled teen in book two to thriving adult in this book. Shepherd is the quintessential grouchy CEO. He has big-time trust issues. He is a bit older – they have a seventeen-year age gap – but it works perfectly since they have so much in common. Because Destiny comes from money, and because she is not materialistic, he has no reason to be suspicious of financial motives with her. The couple has excellent chemistry. Initially enemies, they are both surprised when their heat turns steamy.

Shepherd and Destiny’s romance has it all – steamy enemies-to-lovers chemistry, a darling Husky, a PR crisis, behind-the-scenes influencer drama, and danger. The story is well-written. There are a couple of facts that don’t quite mesh, but overall this is very tight. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are wonderfully written. They are three-dimensional and relatable. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Shepherd and Destiny. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Embracing His Destiny

Destiny—Dess—Lancaster, is a beautiful, wealthy, young woman who has suffered through dark moments in her childhood that still have left fears and traumas—fears of water and storms—and the trauma that any child feels from the unexpected death of her mother.

Her family—her dad, Cole Lancaster, CEO of Wired Cup Incorporated, a generationally owned coffee company out of Seattle, and step-mom Eliza Angelo, who is the brilliant coffee wizard who has had helped craft many of Wired Cup’s beloved brews, have worked to help Destiny to confront fears of the ocean the creatures that live in its waters that were closely linked in her mind as a child. And, with coffee bean estates in Hawaii, where the family has a home, 25-year-old Des has worked to manage the terrors of her childhood, especially now that she has young half-siblings whom she adores.

Now, as a 25-year-old adult, Des is making her own professional pathway. She has turned her water-phobia and her fear of the creatures which live in the depths into a launching pad for her passions—her career dreams. With the help of step-mom Eliza, Destiny has learned to deal with the drowning death of her mom in the nearby waters. And, with the patient, loving support of dad and step-mom Eliza, Destiny has been able to turn her fear into a life passion. Now, the young woman with sparkling turquoise eyes and long blonde hair works to bring peace and protection to the natural world where she found such peace and comfort in her distress of loss.

As the young beauty has pursued her passion for animal protection, Dess has gained the knowledge and skills needed through academic training at undergraduate and graduate level to support her goal of promoting animal conservation. And with her powerful role as an influencer and media presence, providing images and information, introducing and informing her followers of the need to protect and preserve the creatures of the earth, she is now seeking opportunities for funding and seeking tools to better promote her passion of protection and conservation. And now, a perfect opportunity to gain funding, to access to technology and to polish her skills for promoting her animal conservation cause is available.

So, when Shepherd Foster, CEO of Home Shepherd, a security firm with an innovative technology lab which has developed drones and other surveillance devices, invites applications from young influencers, experienced in public engagement, to submit applications for the opportunity to gain an internship with the security firm, Destiny submits her application.

But the opportunity to offer internships at Home Shepherd is not without a purpose—a purpose that is to help improve the reputation of the company’s CEO—to create a diversion from a simmering scandal. Shepherd, Foster, the handsome, 42-year-old former Marine with jet black hair and unique ice-blue eyes mixing touches of grey, yellow and brown, lives a public life, but masks some darker, more private parts, of his past. And now once again, he needs a diversion to move attention from a recent unpleasant scandal.

He has been accused by Vanessa Dumas, a woman—Vanessa Dumas—whom he had sought to help him present a diversionary story suggesting that they were dating. But unfortunately, Shepherd has foolishly fallen into her devious and grasping hold as she ignores the original agreement of creating a false, but believable narrative. Vanessa wants the contrived relationship to become reality—with a happily ever after ending to which Shep’s message is “Never!”

So, Shep creates his own diversion. He has announced a competition offering influencers the opportunity to gain the inside professional experience of a large corporation. The bonus is that once the internship ends, the influencer, with the gained knowledge of marketing and promotion, will also bank 2-million-dollar prize for their own future promotions.

And for the network of influencers, all eager to gain funding, the announcement is comparable to throwing fresh chum into a shark tank. The influencers are excited and eager to enter the competition offered by wealthy Shepherd Foster, the powerful CEO, as well as having face-to-face access to the handsome CEO.

And for Destiny, the lure of the Home Shepherd internship competition is an amazing opportunity, but she’s not the only influencer who wants the opportunity and the 2 million start-up money supporting the winner’s project. But, in the small group of local influencers, the competition is fierce. And, as the applications come in, Shep, as he often does, turns to his PA and wonder woman, Hannah Chung, to make the selection for the internship.

Hannah’s review of applications focuses on one in particular—the submission from Destiny Lancaster. With an impressive vita and a clear focus on an environment issue and conservation, Destiny’s application is unique among the applications, and with a proposed focus on locating and tracking threatened animal populations, the proposal is a perfect partner for the technology company whose focus is often seen as more militaristic in it protection and surveillance equipment.

So, when his PA—Shep’s secret weapon—determines that Destiny’s application is the best match for the company’s purpose for redirecting its image. By focusing on the use of the technology to save and preserve the endangered animal population as opposed to the more traditional use of guarding humans from human threats and violence.

Nicole Snow crafts an engaging story of individuals doing their utmost to support their families while honoring their own dreams. She crafts a wonderful supporting cast for the primary characters, creating a colorful and dynamic backdrop with delightful connections to other “Grumpy” connected romances. I look forward to exploring other titles by the author.

I received the review copy from Booksprout but also enjoyed reading it with Kindle on different platforms.

shepherd was caught in a scandal when his stand in woman (vanessa) starts to sell lies and make-up stories about them. you see, he's so over and done with women throwing themselves at him so he decided to hire this woman to pretend to be his girlfriend for the media only. they never do anything because it was all for appearance. she's a willing participant in this ruse 'cause she wants to get famous, and to be associated with a billionaire would definitely give her the attention she wants. but then after six months of this charade, vanessa told him she wants more, like for them to be a real couple, and that's when shepherd ended their arrangement. and of course, she didn't like the rejection so she spread out lies in the media basking the attention she's getting for slandering his reputation.

shepherd and his assistant need to divert the negative attention he's getting, so his assistant made this young influencers program. the goal is to hire an influencer that could use his company to further improve the cause of this chosen influencer. and put the company back in the good graces of the media. and destiny was the lucky participant who won the program.

i think the story is hate to love. shep has trust issues with women and he's unsure with this influencer scheme. so he's annoyed at dess immediately even though he doesn't know her yet. he's a dick when they met and this interaction made them annoyed with each other. weeks passed without them seeing each other in the company. but when dess needed someone to accompany her to look for some sea otters, shep volunteered to go with her (business and personal reason). and something snapped between them in this trip and that's how their relationship starts.

i like the character development, relationship progress, and the story flow. though tbh this could've been a 100 pages less imo. there's a push and pull between them and it was mainly because of shep's hang ups. he thinks he's not good enough for her and that he would only ruin her life and reputation because he's a scandal magnet. but thank god, there's no third act breakup in this one (he ended things with them while they were on a yacht but they got caught in a storm, and this made him realize he can't live without her so he apologized and told her he loves her)

while there's a constant war in shep's head, dess is determined to see things through. between them she was the strong one holding on to what they have. she didn't give up, she only followed shep's lead even if it's not something she wanted. even though she was way too young for him, she was not an immature and bratty character. she was understanding, patient, caring, and selfless overall. her love and passion for wildlife conservation is so endearing to read. you can really see the hard work and dedication she put in her social media account to inform people about the current state of endangered animals and how they could help save those creatures. she's a lovable character entirely.

there is a little bit of suspense involved here, and i got nervous reading those scenes. but i'm glad that at the end of the day everything worked for the best and no one got harmed in the process. as for the resolution with vanessa's issue, tbh i got secondhand embarrassment that they did it on live tv (they were sickeningly sweet and some lines were cringey for being too cheesy), but i guess there's no better way to expose a liar than to do it in front a wide audience.

overall, this was a good and enjoyable read, too long though with 500+ pages but i never got bored with anything. this is worth reading and recommending imo.

OH MY! What a ride! ONE BOSSY DISASTER is a smoldering, slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, age gap, forbidden office romance. This book is so unbelievably sweet, infectious, fun and flirty, witty, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and yet sexy and emotional that it is unputdownable. This book will have you hanging on to every word because it is the perfect catalyst for love that you will devour every chapter! You simply won’t be able to get enough! Get ready to fall in love with this delicious, cocky man—Shepherd Foster. Shepherd Foster is 42 years old, the CEO of Home Shepherd who is arrogant, unapologetic, workaholic, cold-hearted grump, sexy, and eligible billionaire bachelor who keeps his PR department busy because he always seems to have bad luck with relationships and women. Shepherd does not date seriously, and he will NOT fraternize with his staff. He’s the type of man every woman desires and longed to have. Shepherd had a fake relationship with a model to help her career, which turned out to be a PR nightmare. “With me, it’s always strictly business. Absolutely no romance.” His assistant, Hannah Cho, came up with the idea of a “program for young social media influencers interested in philanthropic work to shadow the CEO for several months so they can gain the executive experience” to help his image.

Destiny Lancaster is 25 years old, and she is an influencer. Destiny is very independent, and she is a billionaire’s daughter (Cole Lancaster—owns Wired Cup, coffee company) who taught her how to be independent and loves philanthropy—she does not rely on her father’s money to make a living. When Destiny applied for the influencer program, she won, but soon finds out what Shepherd is cold-hearted and grumpy. What makes matters worst, Destiny is hired at Home Shepherd to work in the influencer program. “It shouldn’t be humanly possible for a man so cold to be scorching—but the fact that he’s so forbidding and imposing makes him more attractive.” But Destiny is a force to be reckoned with.

Shepherd and Destiny are complete opposites, and it is their differences that fuel their witty banter and teasing in this fantastic read. Shepherd is enamored with the feisty, sassy, and obstinate beautiful woman. Because Shepherd is Destiny’s boss, he tries to distance himself from Destiny, but there is something so hypnotic and magnetic about her that he can’t stay away from her. “It’s easy to believe he’s a heartbreaker. He’s handsome enough, in a coldhearted lizard blood kind of way.” When things were starting to look up for Destiny, then an incident happens that turns Destiny’s idyllic life upside down. Find out what happened—what a conundrum! If you’re in the mood to read one of the best enemies-to-lovers books with humor and a dialogue that crackles, this is it! This story is entertaining and fervent with a dash of dreams coming true. There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. Nicole Snow satisfies hearts longing for laughter in their love stories, with some suspense, and a battle of wits is tremendously fun. I highly RECOMMEND this book—you won’t regret it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Their meeting is the match that sets their world on fire and then some

Just as I started reading One Bossy Disaster (Seattle suits Book 4) by Nicole Snow my mind was already going a million miles a minute about the characters and the main plot. First, I just have to say that Vanessa Dumas is an antagonist’s perfect name! Every time it pops up on a page, I’m laughing hysterically inside. Then, as Shepard and Destiny become acquainted and the enemy lines are drawn, the verbal sparring is the only clue one needs to see how bright, sharp and hot the sparks between these two are going to smolder, burn slowly and build into an inferno. The slow burn build is simply magnificent from their first introduction and continued to wow me throughout the entire book.
The plot is constantly fueled by internal dialogue and no matter what messages each of their minds are sending. For the most part, their hearts seem to overrule more often than not. To say there’s conflict is a massive understatement. It’s neck deep rough seas conflict that bats these two around like a rudderless raft. Each of them have their own reasons for conflict and the age gap is not the only one. There’s much Shepard and Destiny need to reconcile on their own while navigating personal, professional and social land mines, antagonism, the reluctant burgeoning relationship just to name a few.
I was swept up in these characters so quickly! From the first chapter and once again found myself starting my review way before finishing the book. This seems to be what I am always compelled to do with any book by this author. I love how captivating her writing is from each characters perspective and the deep dive taken into what makes the characters the way they are. For me it’s as emotional as it is steamy. The slow burn makes the characters and story arcs intriguing with a burning need to know what’s coming next! Captivating suspense is also sure to raise the blood pressure and get the heart racing. Shepard and Destiny’s book is no exception. In fact, it’s a guarantee. A veritable page turner, nail biter, breath stealer for sure.
Overall, internal battles do nothing to douse the slow burning embers smoldering from battling with each other. Despite all the arguments and seeming obstacles against Shepard and Destiny, burning hearts full of love won’t be denied by any means. The journey to acceptance is messy, with a bit of heartbreak, but worth every harsh verbal sparring match and internal lashing meted out. Shepard and Destiny wrap each other up in their hard won love and survive their way to a dreamy, delightful, promising and fulfilling HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Oh no! Did I accidentally not do a review for this? Noooo! So sorry. This book was amazing. This whole series is amazing. I cannot recommend it enough. It is one hundred percent, hands-down Nicole Snow's best work. If you only read one series from her, it must be this one. But I would recommend going in order. They build upon each other. Not that you couldn't read this as a stand alone. It's just better if you didn't. Because...

Out main female MC is Cole Lancaster's daughter, Destiny. But she's like way older in this book, and she's on her own and has ignored her inheritance in order to make a name for herself as a conservationist. She's super personable and down to earth, and even though she's one of them social media people, she's totally cool. The thing that made me sad about her was the fact that she left her dad so that he could have his own little family with Eliza and their new children, and my heart completely broke. Like, how sad is that to feel that way? *tears*

Sigh. So, Shepherd has a bad reputation because of a series of unfortunate events that he keeps getting into, and sadly, they really aren't his fault. Okay. The last one was his fault. Should have had the b!tch sign an NDA. Or like, grow a backbone and learn to say, "No," to women instead of having a fake girlfriend. *shrugs* Bro got ninety-nine problems AND women problems. SMH

So, Shepherd and Destiny have the funniest meet cute ever. (I almost typed meat cute, and now I'm wondering what that would be like. Fun at a butcher's? The world may never know.) And the meet cute ends up creating this enemies to lovers bit that creates such a fun read. The sex scenes are amazing, and the story drama is top notch. I'm assuming there is going to be another book after this one, and I'm pretty sure I know who it's going to be given how this one ended. But who knows, right?

Anyhow, read this book. It's so good. You should stop what you are doing right now and read it. Unless you are driving. Then keep driving. But why are you reading reviews while driving? Shame on you.

I finally got to read this book after finishing a collection I was finally able to find. I shelved this book the second it came out but was hesitant to start it because it’s longer than most books I read and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to immerse myself in a long story. I’m glad I started it at a time when I didn’t feel rushed because otherwise I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much. Distantly each character I’ve read in this series makes a small return, reminding me of what started it all. I’m glad for this because sometimes when it’s been a while since I’ve visited characters, I need a reminder about them. I remember reading about the Lancaster’s a while ago but forgot Cole had a daughter before Eliza. Getting Destiny’s life in the future was a treat. I got to see where she’s at and how far she’s come. I also got a glimpse of the relationship with Cole now to how it was back when I was reading about his story. Anyway, I thought this would be your typical enemies to lovers story I’m familiar with. It was, but for some reason I found this story not boring and was hooked. When I say boring, I mean like I can predict the plot, I know what happens and can pretty much recite what happens without even starting it. There was some of that in here but the one thing that is prominent in this story that most enemies to lovers don’t have is quick trust. Destiny and Shepard trust each other quickly and without much judgement. Sure there was head butting in the beginning but that was short lived. When Shepard sees Destiny in her element and with persuasion from Hannah, his assistant, he was able to see reason and give Destiny a chance. The only thing he didn’t want to do was allow himself to fall for her, which we all know happens anyway. The story itself was a delicious mix of temptation, emotion, love and this inane connection between Shepard and Destiny. Their chemistry was off the charts and every touch and intimate moment was steamy. Toss in a life or death situation and you get full blown fire. I thoroughly enjoyed this and hope this isn’t the end of this world. If so, it really went off on a bang and I enjoyed the ride, definite 5 stars!

Apparently I have certain books I turn to for comfort and they all happen to be tropes written by authors I’ve previously binge-read - who knew?

One Bossy Disaster released during September and continues within the world of the Bossy Seattle Suits. Nicole Snow has a stacked back-catalog but I’ve only ever read about the Suits: grumpy billionaires (typically boss-holes) who have their worlds turned upside down by fierce, determined, strong-willed women.

Destiny may have been the most relatable in terms of her drive and desire to do good, but she is probably the youngest of the FMCs we read about (cannot confirm but it certainly feels this way by the way she’s written and how she acts). You have to respect a person who chooses to leave their gilded-spoon life in the dust to pursue a career based solely on fundraising and spotlighting endangered species through her socials.

Shepherd is a real heartbreaker, as in the man’s back story will break your dang heart. I’m not sure anything else could have possibly happened to him before we meet him but the fact the’s a loner and tries to reduce any relationship to a business transaction is completely understandable. Self-deprecating, refusing to accept anything good and living a life of loneliness to atone for past sins - once we break through that snarky jerk exterior, we cut him a lot of slack.

If you like:
- Immediate chemistry that cannot be denied - even when both MCs are determined to snuff it out
- Age-gap romance where the older MMC is close in age to the FMCs dad (and runs in the same grumpy rich-man circles)
- Watching the realization dawn on the resistant party that life is too short to wall yourself away from a chance at true happiness..
.. then you’re going to like this one.

It reads as a standalone among a series - you won’t need backstories of previous books to enjoy this one (although Eliza and Cole from book 2, One Bossy Dare, are frequently referenced) but don’t be surprised if you find yourself adding the rest to your TBR!

Otterly Fantastic
I know whenever I open a book by Nicole Snow that my heart is going to get a major work out. It will be lightened by laughter, accelerated by terror, uplifted by joy, beat double time by character chemistry, shattered by sadness, and finally mended by love and a HEA. So if you are looking for a story with all the “feels” look no more!

Destiny is reintroduced in this story and she has grown into a beautiful, kind and independent young woman with a backbone of steel. Shepherd is a grumpy, gorgeous older man who has basically managed to fight his way out of a shady past to corporate success.
Their meet cute is anything but, yet neither of them can look away.

The chemistry between these two characters is off the charts and the slow burn anticipation is deliciously maddening! Once ignited that heat could burn down the forest they are in when they finally succumb to fate.

But reaching their HEA is fraught with many complications, not the least of which is character assassination by media influencers. We are witness to some heroic efforts made by the main characters and also the supporting cast. Shepherd’s PA Hannah Cho, a particular favourite of mine, is a stalwart warrior who will do what needs to be done to help Shepherd tread the right path to success (and happiness).

Although this is a grumpy/sunshine age gap romance with just the right amount of adventure, steam, angst and redemption there is also an underlying message that we need to be careful to assess the veracity of the information that media outlets and influencers deliver.

I received an free advance review copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I have loved this series from the beginning, but this may have been my favorite book so far.

Both main characters come in with a decent level of baggage, him far more than her. It's easy to see why he shies away from anything resembling a relationship or feelings of any kind. Their first meeting didn't go well, but fairly quickly you could tell that they had a mutual level or respect for one another even if they didn't want to admit it.

There was a slow progression to their relationship that I really enjoyed. It gave the reader more time to get to know each character individually as well as together.

I love that Destiny is the FMC. She is the daughter of Cole Lancaster from one of the previous books and getting to see her all grown up and making something of herself on her own was beautiful to see.

It didn't have a true 3rd act breakup seeing as they were never truly together and expectation were made very clear from the start. Even though you could easily see that they were falling for each other and the idea of no longer being together was hurting each of them, they believed it was for the best. I prefer this kind of angst or drama over the traditional 3rd act breakup where the man does something stupid or lies to the girl in order to "protect her" and then regrets it and has to win her back. In this scenario, all they really had to do was have a conversation saying that they actually want to give this thing a real shot.

Overall, I would highly recommend this series as a whole, as well as this book in particular.

One Bossy Disaster by Nicole Snow is an enemies-to-lovers age-gap romance. I loved the drama that seemed to follow the couple everywhere. It was laugh-out-loud funny, and I loved the otters!!! The characters were exciting, complex, and had crazy chemistry. I thought this book was original, and I loved the plot twists that had me turning the pages to see what would happen next. The drama and mystery were exciting because it took place through social media. It kept me turning to pages to see what would happen next.

I don't think I have ever loved an FMC like I have Destiny. She is everything I wanted to be when I was a little girl. I thought she was totally a free spirit; she was loyal and a very determined FMC. I loved her compassion and determination. She knew what she wanted and went for it. Shepherd was a grumpy bosshole. He was blunt, broody, and jaded. He was the perfect OTT possessive bosshole. I loved the push and pull, and all the angst both characters battled against throughout this book. Destiny and Shepherd were opposites of each other. I loved their banter and quick wit when facing off with each other. This story was a page-turning, slow-burning, heartbreaking romance, and I enjoyed every minute of it, from the adventures to the tabloid rumor mill hounding them at every turn.- Brooke

another great read by Nicole

I was not surprised by this being another great read by Nicole. For me, I 1 click buy most of her work. I know each of her books are great and I love rereading them. This book is part of the bossy series, but it doesn’t have to be read in order, each book is independent. This book does refer to some characters in a previous book, but not enough to spoil either book if read out of order.

Overview: Destiny Lancaster is the daughter of Cole Lancaster, but she is grown and on her own trying to find her place in animal conservation. Destiny wins the influencer grant from Shepherd Homes company. But when she meets Shepherd, both know each other from a quick previous meet on the beach, and both hate each other. But Shepherds personal Assistant helps him understand that she passed all the elements and showed him her influencer page and it’s only about animals and not gossip, something he fights with all the time. So the two end up on an otter exploring with new equipment. The two can’t stop fighting but also can’t stop the attraction. The two give in since they are out away from public eyes, but as always, something else happens to change their futures in multiple ways.
