Emmerson loves Christmas—the lights, the carols, and all the trimmings that make the season bright. What she didn’t expect was a plan to sell her great-grandmother's candy company right from under her—or that she'd end up tangled in the sheets with her best friend's celebrity brother.
Paxton is a Scrooge. All he wants for Christmas is peace and quiet to figure out his next career move. A holiday fling with his sister’s best friend wasn’t exactly on his Christmas list, nor were the paparazzi shots that outed his location and threatened his career.
When sparks fly like a roaring yule log, and the candy company’s future hangs by a string of twinkle lights, Emmerson and Paxton find themselves unwrapping far more surprises than they ever imagined. What’s a pair to do when the heat turns up? There’s more to this candy caper than meets the eye.
This story had so much promise in the beginning, but it fell flat at the end. I loved Emerson. She didn't take any mess and went for what she wanted, which was Paxton. Paxton frustrated me some because he had no reason to treat his sister the way he did, but Emerson made sure he fixed that. Now, my issue with this book is the ending. It felt incomplete, like the author had to turn in what she had and just ended the book. Other than that, it was an okay read. All the Christmas elements of the story were perfect. I just needed a better ending to feel as if all issues were resolved with the characters.
This was shaping up well, but I was disappointed in the ending. It felt like there wasn't much resolution in the end, even as the couple got their HFN ending
