When an unexpected find is made in the deserts east of Luxor, Chyna Stone and the Found History team are brought in to help with the excavation of the Chambers of Ay. As they explore the underground maze of forgotten corridors and hidden passageways, they become keenly aware that there is much more to this discovery than meets the eye. A discovery that reaches down through the ages.

It's called the Egyptian Book of Life—an ancient, and priceless text dating back to the rule of the Pharaoh Djoser—and Chyna and her team might just have stumbled upon a clue to its final location. Now hot on the trail, Chyna and her team travel through Egypt and Turkey and parts unknown, soon coming into contact with a secret society of men who are sworn to protect the secret of the Book of Life and its location. But when treachery is discovered among her team, Chyna will find herself on the run...all while following a cryptic trail of clues that will lead to the Book of Life...or to her death.

But Chyna Stone is no ordinary archaeologist—she's an adventurer through and through—and she will do all she can to preserve history and to protect the lives of those she cares most about...all while uncovering the true secret of the Mummy Codex.

Chyna Stone and the Found History are called on to assist and archaeology dig and a new adventure begins. The team head to Luxor to help excavate the Chambers of Ay. As often happens on a dig, new adventures and discoveries occur. Found are underground hidden tunnels and chambers.

The find a box that all hope contain the Book of Life, that contains the list of Egyptian Pharaohs. Instead they find that it had been stolen by a disposed Queen who left a clue. Chyna and her team head out to discover the clues that will lead them to the Book of Life. Unknown to them they are been observed by an ancient group known as the Watchers. The Watcher have long been charged with the protection of the Book of Life.

Adventure and history make for a very interesting read.

The tale begins in the time following Tut's death and sets the importance of The Book of Life. Fast forward to present day and the archaeologists of the Found History team led by Chyna Stone. Danger, adventure and romance ensue. The publisher's summary will give you enough hints without spoilers. It's an entertaining novella, worth the time and money. I found it perfect for one session listening while doing other tasks.
I'm sorry, but Heather Ross just didn't seem like a good fit here. I feel that she would be great for a Sophie Kinsella or Kasey Michaels novel, but just too thoughtlessly perky for this series.

Good read

This book was good. It lacked a little of the excitement from the first book. But I enjoyed and will continue reading the series.

It seems like the author took a long book and broke it into several small books. The subject matter is interesting but the characters are a little stiff. I did enjoy the book, even though it was too short.
