One night with her was supposed to mean nothing. Now I’m the new CEO, and she’s my most brilliant attorney. Oh, and she’s my brother’s ex.
I wasn’t looking for complications, but Olivia Grant is the definition of it. Smart, sharp, and infuriatingly tempting. One night together, and now she’s in my head, my office, and making me question every damn rule I’ve ever made.
It doesn’t help that my brother Daniel is back, ready to reclaim what he lost. Olivia and I? We can’t afford this—especially not when the firm’s reputation is on the line. But every time she’s near, keeping things professional goes out the window.
This could destroy everything I’ve worked for—my business, my family, my career. But losing her? That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.
this book was fine. When it starts is is closed door, but as the relationship develops between the FMC and the MMC is when you are able to read the smut. This book is an enemies to lovers romance and a workplace romance. Olivia goes out to celebrate the win she had in court, gets drunk and has a one night stand with her new CEO that also happens to be her Ex's brother.
Olivia is the FMC. She is a lawyer and due to her relationship with her father she has changed her name and is employed and on the partner track at a rival firm. She has fought for everything she has gotten. Daniel is Olivia's Ex and Ethan's brother. He left after they broke up and came back wanting to get back together. When he finds out about the brother and Olivia he does not handle it morally or ethically right at all. Ethan is the MMC of the story. he had a rough childhood. After he graduated he moved half way around the world to follow who he thought was his dream girl but what happens when they break up, he no longer wants to travel for a living, and looking for a place to call home.
This book is in a dual POV. the plot of the story was good but the execution left something to be desired. This could have been a little longer and a little more focus on the building of the relationship between the two characters. it was a very jumpy relationship. It went from one night stand to enemies then to lovers but will very few scenes that show the building of the relationship unless it was them working together or the court case.
Sadie Vega's new book captures you from the get-go with its tropes of one-night stand, ex's brother, off-limits, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, office romance.
Ethan and Olivia have a one-night stand, not knowing that he is her new boss. What makes matters worse is that she is also his brother's - Daniel's - ex, who is back to try and get her back. Ethan is not willing to lose Olivia, but what will he lose during the pursuit?
This new book is well-written and captivating, drawing you in until you finish reading the book in one go.
I didn’t like this. I’m not a legal expert, but anyone who has watched an episode of The Good Wife knows that some parts of that trial would not be allowed in court.
What on earth was the purpose of her best friend also being in love with her?
One of the top law offices in the city hired Beaver after he was arrested for messing with clients information? No, they wouldn’t.
She was never going to get back with Daniel, why drag it out for most of the book?
The romance… was there. Nothing memorable.
I’m so annoyed I kept reading this, but I did want to see her dad go down in court.

What do you do when you’re a lawyer trying to make partner and your father is known as the “demon attorney “? You don’t use your full name and pray no one finds out. Then you get tipsy one night and have a one night stand with a stranger only to find out the next day he’s your new CEO. Things continue to get mixed up in this wonderful story. You never know what is going to happen and you laugh, cry, clap, and even talk to the characters. A must read!
I know that it's not the Fourth of July, but this book will make it seem like it is because of the SPARKS that is going to be flying in this romance read. I loved the development of this story as well as the characters which were amazing. The romance, and suspense is FANTASTIC as well as the ending. Sadie has written a really wonderful book that hooks you from chapter one.
Ethan and Olivia have an intimate night together and find out that he is her new boss. If that isn't enough, he is her ex's older brother. This story has so much going on with all of the drama, antics and banter that I couldn't put it down.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nice quick and easy read. Book was ok, and story line was predictable but had some nice story telling / character building which I enjoyed. If you like smut this isn’t it.. a few scenes but nothing crazy, it’s more implied than written.. (like when a movie or tv show fades to the next scene when they start making out)
Predicable but what else would you expect with a title like that.
This was one fantastic read. So many different things happening I am not even going to try mentioning them. All I can say is, if you want to read a book with ups, downs, love, laughter and a little suspense that all ends in a big HEA, this is the one for you.
