Having my own business, hanging with my bestie, surrounded by books and coffee – sounds like a dream come true, right? I wish it could be that simple. I can't help feeling like something is missing…until two of the most dangerous men in town walk into my bookstore and I find out they're my fated mates. And the kicker? One of them hates me. I could probably deal with that, until my ex reappears with some new friends who seem to be adept at dark magic. Can I trust my mates to fight beside me? Or will old prejudices drive a wedge between us all?
Ravin DeMarco is a baby author from the Midwest who loves reading and writing in equal proportions.
When not writing, Ravin enjoys her time behind the camera lens, capturing all the spooky vibes she can to go along with her year-round aesthetic.
With her very spoiled husky at her side, Ravin dives into creating fantastical multi genre worlds that her readers can't get enough of.
She can be found at home, like the hermit she is, cuddling with her fur babies, drinking coffee, or making playlists and character inspirations for her books.
Shasta is a seriously bad@ss witch who’s very powerful and I loved the dynamic between her and her mates. It is a little rocky at first but who doesn’t love a lil drama/hate fkking? 😄 I also love how loyal her friends and family are. That’s goals right there 🤩
All in all I give it 5/5 stars and I hope we see these characters again in the future! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
While this book is not super spicy it has such a great storyline.
Lion shifter and heads of the Wrath motorcycle club, Ethan and Kadi are on a mission to track down a group of people causing havoc for the Supe community when they stumble upon a witch who may just change their entire lives.
Witch, Shasta is about to have her whole world turned upside down after 2 lion shifters entire her quaint little book shop.
I absolutely love these three. Shasta is a baddddd a$$ witch with a take no $h!t attitude and she is about to have 2 of the most ruthless and alpha men step into her life. Emmett is the bestie we all need. Loki is the guardian we all want. And the vamps, yeah, can’t wait for their story!
Please note that this book is part of a series. While Shasta, Ethan and Kadi have completed their HEA, there are questions that remain unanswered that will be unlocked as the series progresses.
Not having read many shifter romance books I loved the fact this one was different in that the MMCs animals were lions not wolves like so typical in these sorts of books. Mixed in with Shasta our FMC being a witch and a powerful one at that, it’s great that the fated mates are also enemies of one another. This kicks off the book well with explosive chemistry from the get go, dark back stories, and an evil society to boot, I couldn’t put the book down. There is a lot going on in Prey and although doesn’t end on a cliffhanger there are unanswered questions which I am sure will be answered as the series continues. The writing is very easy to read, Shastas POV is very chatty in nature which reflects her character I feel. There are a lot of names and information given surrounding the MC group which was hard to remember at times but I feel this will be easier to take in more on a second read through or when the second book is out. Overall I look forward to seeing how this series continues and am hoping the vamps get their story next.
“Prey” by Ravin DeMarco is the first book I’ve read from this author, and it was absolutely amazing! I was hooked within the first few pages and can’t wait for the next installment in the series. A determined witch, two scorching hot lion shifters, and enough twists and turns to leave your mind reeling.
Tropes: 🦁 Protective/Grumpy & Golden Retriever duo 🏍️ Morally grey MMCs ☕ Bookstore owner ☕ Soulmates 💙 Shifters, witches, vampires, and more…
Intense, captivating, steamy, and sprinkled with a touch of humor—absolutely irresistible!
This was a great read. The fmc owning her own business. also hanging with her bestie, surrounded by books and coffee. Is a dream come true for her. she can't help feeling like something is missing…until two of the most hottest, dangerous men in town walk into her Bookstore, and I find out they're my fated mates.
One of them hates her because she a witch. She could probably deal with that until her ex reappears with some new friends who seem to be attached to dark magic. Can she trust her fated mates to fight beside her?
Shasta is a powerful witch and works and lives over a coffee/book shop Kadi is a lion shifter also in a biker club Ethan is a lion shifter and is the leader of the biker club Emmett is the manager of the Cauldron coffee/book shop and best friend to Shasta If you like bikers, shifters and witches this is the book you need to read. It has mystery (who done it vibe) with a twist. Can't wait for the next book there's a lot of good characters in this book and can't wait to read about them again.
I really wanted to love this book. I didn't feel the book flowed well at all. Everything happen so very fast and in the space of a week. I didn't feel the MMCs and FMC relationship had any chemistry. One of the MMC hated witches for so long then he's mated to one and in a couple of days everything is fine?? I really think there was too much going on at one time. And the FMC was meant to be this super power witch/demigod but she just didn't seem to fit the roll.
4.5/5 stars! I absolutely adore the FMC she is fierce protective and powerful! Lost with trauma but stays strong for her family and friends. The MMC’s yes this is a MFM fated mates! The buildup was very fast that’s the only part that threw me. One of the MMC hates her kind and he just gives in so easily. The plot of the story is amazing and the twists and turns to take down evil is so well built! I love all the different types of magical people. Shifters, demons, her cat! (Wink wink) fae, vampires, humans, witches and warlocks. Don’t forget the Gods. I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds and I look forward to keep reading! There is triggers so make sure to check them out! I would highly reccomend this book! -Kerin 💖
I enjoyed everything about it and also the fact that her mates are shifters...love it!! There is spice the action amazing!! The fact that Ethan didn't like her at all due to her being a witch was unexpected. She was his mate and all, but I get it with what happened to him. Anyway, I don't want to give any spoilers, so if you love shifters, vamps and witches, this must be your next read!!
Prey by RAVIN DeMarco was an amazing read. I was hooked within the first two chapters! I personally love a read that continues to draw you in and picks up pace and DeMarco definitely delivers it. I will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!
Intense ,engaging, steamy and with a little dash of humor absolutely delicious!
A strong willed witch, two hot lion shifters, turns and twists enough to blow your mind . And the spice? They have barbs!!!
Well written with a great world building, a captivating plot, multilayered characters and an overarching plot that promisses to be the first in an EPIC series kept me engrossed in the story until the last word and left me wanting more! Highly recomend!
I started reading this book yesterday and just finished it! It's that good!! It has everything you want in a book. At least for me. It has bikers, shifters, vampires, witches, enemies to lovers, it has all the things. And the story is so good! I truly did get wrapped into the plot of it all. I hope some finds this book and loves it as much as I do!
I want to stsrt off by saying shape shifting paranormal romances are not ym thing BUT I do enjoy Ravin's writing so I decided to dive into this ARC read. Prey by Ravin was a wild ride of twists and turns throughout the 300 pages. A lion shifter and Wrath motorcycle club president bring havoc from the start but Shasta, a badass witch who tolerate anything but the bullshit welcomes two alpha males that have bo clue what they signed up for. Ethan, Kadi and Shasta have their story and even though spice is limited; their story is atill worth reading and kickstart this series. The chemistry is very real with the plot build in Prey and I'm here for it all. The POV style writing is what you can expect with Prey and there mayy be alot of names to catch onto (typical MC baseline) but there is a reason for anything so just keep them in mind for future books in the series. I do want to mention, Emmett. If Emmetts book is next, I'm here for it!! Just to note, the banter is another level and it really made this book really good. I cant wait to see whats next!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Prey is an intense paranormal menage romance. It is engaging, steamy and has bits of humor sprinkled in. It was a great read and I highly recommend it!
Take one strong willed witch, two fated lion shifters, add some twists and turns and you will be mind blown. It is a bit of a build up of spice but hello, they are shifters who have barbs! Need I say more??
Over all it was well written for the most part, a few places it felt a bit rushed but did not detract from the overall story. I really enjoyed the characters and the fated mate aspect but I would have loved to have seen more of Kadi
I liked this book, but there were a couple of things that let it down for me.
I feel like once things got sorted between Ethan and Shasta, Kadi was sort of forgotten about. To me it ended up being a relationship between two people and not the three of them.
At 60% the story started to drag and I was getting a bit bored until around 85/90% when everything seemed to happen at once and then it ended. I have so many questions that were left unanswered 🙃
I really enjoyed this read and if you've seen my Facebook posts, you know I have re-read it and don't regret it! It was fast-paced, fast-burning, fated mates, and had a rollercoaster of a plot throughout. It was full of shifters and supernatural beings with all kinds of powers, action, and pairings. Shasta is a powerful witch with a lot pain from her childhood and her recent past. She's not a shy, subservient, or weak FMC- she owns the spaces she enters like the powerful being she is. Her Coven/family made me miss my abuela dearly but also brought me some warm fuzzies, so I really enjoyed the family dynamics.
Ethan (Wrath MC - President), and Kadi (Wrath MC - Vice President) are both powerful lion shifters, and outlaws who protect the supernatural beings. But what happens when one of them loathes witch kind and their mate is a witch? I guess you'll just have to find out for yourself!
Shasta, Ethan, and Kadi are adorable in their own little broken way and I really enjoyed watching them embrace each other and communicate even in the tough situations. The powers Devi has are really unique and make for an intriguing storyline with all of the twists we get!
It is a why-choose, fated mates, PNR MC romance, and it is book 1 in Ravin's series, The Boys of Wrath. While can be read as a standalone, more interconnected books from the same world and wrath MC are in the works. I can't wait to see what comes next in this new world from Ravin.
On another note I really enjoyed the banter in "Prey" but I also really loved how memorable Ravin made the side/other characters both in and out of Wrath MC.
El's Scale: Plot: 5 - it is jam packed just the way I like it and kept me flipping pages until the sun came up. Spice: 2.5 - it isn't over the top but it's not lacking, plus there are barbed p33ns so I mean... come on just *ahem* add to cart am I right?! Would I recommend this book: Absolutely! I think Ravin did really well and maintained an enjoyable pace throughout. My ADHD self inhaled this. Overall: 5/5
I received an ARC of Prey and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest review :D
Oh, Ravin DeMarco, you’ve done it—you’ve stolen my attention with "Prey," the glittering jewel in the crown of magical, morally grey fantasy romance. This book is everything I hoped it would be: dark, witty, action-packed, and brimming with the kind of characters who stomp straight into your heart with muddy boots and unapologetic flair.
First, let’s talk about the main event: the cast. The grumpy, brooding, morally ambiguous MMC? Deliciously complicated. The badass FMC? Sharp, commanding, and a joy to follow. And the side characters? Absolute scene stealers. Loki, the “cat” (who’s definitely more than a cat), had me cackling; the vampires and shifters bring a delightfully chaotic energy; and Grams? Iconic. She’s the kind of character you wish were real—part nurturing grandma, part drill sergeant. I’m convinced she could reduce a god to a quivering mess with one withering glare.
The plot is a familiar trope: bad guys want to rule the world by stealing magic from others. But DeMarco takes this oft-used concept and breathes new life into it with fast-paced action, clever twists, and enough intrigue to keep you turning the pages. Sure, it’s a trope, but when done this well, who’s complaining?
What really sets "Prey" apart, though, is its balance. Unlike some fantasy romances where the story gets sidelined for endless steam, DeMarco weaves the romantic tension seamlessly into the narrative. Yes, the chemistry between Shasta, Kadi, and Ethan is sizzling enough to fog up your glasses, but it’s never the sole focus. Their connection is layered and complex, leaving just enough unanswered questions to have me practically begging for the next installment.
In short, this book is a wild, magical ride that doesn’t skimp on humor, heart, or heat. If this is how DeMarco kicks off the series, I’m ready to cancel all plans for when the next book drops. “Prey” is a must-read for fans of morally grey heroes, fierce heroines, and side characters you’ll adore almost as much as the leads. Bravo, Ravin. More, please.
Prey by Ravin Demarco is an absolute masterpiece of suspense, tension, and unrelenting twists. From the very first page, this book hooks you into a pulse-pounding ride, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the final, breathtaking conclusion. Demarco has crafted a thrilling narrative that masterfully blends mystery with high-stakes drama, ensuring that every chapter feels like a revelation.
The plot centers around a protagonist who finds themselves caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse, where trust is scarce, and survival is uncertain. What stands out in Prey is Demarco’s skillful ability to build tension. The pacing is flawless, with every twist and turn adding to the mounting sense of danger, while moments of quiet reflection give the characters depth and humanity amidst the chaos.
The characters are incredibly well-developed, each with their own unique motivations, and their emotional journeys make them incredibly relatable. The protagonist’s inner turmoil and determination to stay one step ahead of those hunting them are portrayed with depth and authenticity, drawing the reader into their struggle. The antagonist is equally compelling, and the psychological cat-and-mouse chase between them is a highlight of the novel.
What really sets Prey apart is its unpredictability. Just when you think you have the story figured out, Demarco delivers a plot twist that completely changes everything. The final reveal is shocking, thought-provoking, and ties everything together in a way that feels earned and satisfying. The tension never lets up, and the payoff is worth every suspense-filled page.
Prey is a gripping thriller that will captivate fans of the genre from start to finish. Ravin Demarco proves with this book that they are a master of suspense and storytelling, and this novel is an absolute must-read for anyone looking for an exhilarating ride.
I enjoyed this one a lot. I liked the characters, the plot, the magic and especially the fmc.
Shasta was a very likable character. She was super sweet but doesn't mean she'll let you get away with treating her like crap. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and others. She was a b@d@$s. I liked her relationship with her family and best friend. There was a lot of love between them 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
I liked the guys. Kadi from the beginning wss very likable unlike Ethan. Don't get me wrong I still really liked him even though he wasn't on his best behavior BUT Kadi was a respectful gentle lion from the beginning. Ethan most definitely made up for the way he acted at the beginning. Once everything was resolved he made sure to show and tell her how sorry he was and that he genuinely cares about her and wants to change.
They had a good amount of chemistry. I do feel like everything moved wayyy too fast. I would have liked for them to develop their relationship a little bit more and also focus on Ethan getting better after everything instead of going straight into the plot of the book. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the book and liked them together but they need at least a week or so before everything started happening.
I'm satisfied for now with the ending. It must definitely feels like a hfn type of ending. There's still a lot more people to take care of and a couple of characters whose stories I want. Also what happened to her familiar??. This book had me at the edge of my seat cause I was just waiting for something to go down.
I always love a book with a powerful fmc who isn't afraid of her powers and kicking some a$$.
I love Shasta and how strong of a person she is. Not only is she a very powerful witch, but she is a bada** and doesn't let anyone mess with her. She stands up for herself and those around her. I wish I had her confidence to call people out on what they have done.
Not only is she a very strong, independent woman, she also happens to be mated to two of the most powerful lion shifters, who are the leaders of the bike club in town. This bike club is known to take matters into their own hands, and police just look the other way. From their first encounter, there was a strong connection between Shasta, Kadi, and Ethan. The only problem is that Ethan hates what Shasta is, and this is due to what happened to his family when he was a child.
I was hooked from the very beginning, and if I didn't have to work, I would have finished it in a day. It was a fast-paced story with no plot holes or jumping around. Some of the characters had a rough start, but they were very likable, and I especially loved Emmett. He is the kind of best friend anyone would be lucky to have.
If you love reading about witches, vampires, and shifters with crazy twists and turns, then this is the go-to book. Can't wait for more in this series, and to hopefully get more stories on the other characters from this book.
OMG, Ravin de Marco has a new book out and it is a lion shifter, why choose, and magical witch. If you are looking for a shifter / paranormal book that is fast paced and is packed with so much that will have you sitting in a corner craving that next page.
Shasta is a witch that runs a bookstore / coffee shop with her bestie when one day things take a turn that changes her direction forever. An unsavoury character runs into her shop and smells of dark magic, his scent is off and all of a sudden he goes and in comes two men in leather. One man is kind and welcoming and the other is off.
We learn this men in leather are part of the Wrath MC and one is the prez, and the other is the VP. One man falls instantly for this witch that he has met and the other has an issue. This issue is long and into this mans past and has shaped who he is. One bond is found and another is tethered just wasting for him to get past his past.
So we have a story of bonds forming, new bonds coming together and an evil that is looking to delve in deep. Plus all i am going to say is the one words that sticks out is ‘barbs’.
This is book 1 in the serious and given the side characters we have met in this book this series is going to have us on the edge of our toes. Im excited are you?
This is by far the best book that I have read by Ravin! I just could NOT put the book down!!!! She did a GREAT job with the plot and character building. I really loved the connection between the characters, even though some had a rough start to their relationships. PREY has lion shifters that are HOT 🔥🔥. They have barbed peens that lock!! That was a first for me. 🪭It is not too spicy, but it is a reverse harem without BDSM. I think it had two on page sex scenes, so I kept the spice level at 4 🌶️ with that combination. If you love bikers, witches, vampires, fae, other shifters, demons, demigods, enemies to lovers, (there is a hate f8ck scene), and trauma, then this is definitely a GREAT READ for you, and I HIGHLY recommend it. PLEASE read the trigger list first though because of the trauma in the book. Mental health is always important. I suggest it as a great book to start off 2025. I do hope that we will see the love story of Jessa and her mates and how that turns out. Maybe there will be a follow up for Little Witch and her mates and their next adventure. GREAT JOB RAVIN!!!
I want to start this review off by saying paranormal themes are not usually my cup of tea. However, "Prey" by Ravin DeMarco, has opened my eyes and changed me! This story is a thrilling paranormal dark romance that centers around a formidable FMC, a witch whose powers are awe-inspiring and an integral part of her identity. On the other side, we have the 2 MMCs who are equally compelling as lion shifters. The dynamic between the witch and the shifters is electric, filled with tension, and chemistry. You will even fall in love with some of the secondary characters in the book and want more from this world and author.
DeMarco's writing style is vivid and immersive, drawing readers in. The narrative is fast-paced, with enough twists and turns to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Overall, "Prey" is a must-read for fans of paranormal romance who enjoy strong heroines and captivating shifter dynamics. DeMarco crafts a world that is both enchanting and dangerous, making it impossible to put the book down. It's a gripping tale of love, power, and survival that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. Do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!
Ravin DeMarco is an amazing action writer. Her scenes always have me on the edge of my seat. Mix in some romance and hurt/comfort and you have the makings of an incredible book.
Prey is the first book of The Boys of Wrath series. Shifters and Magicals and humans, oh my!
I fell in love with Kadi and Ethan right off the bat. Kadi's happy go lucky personality and Ethans brooding demeanor drew me in from the start. Shasta had me worried at the beginning. I didn't want her to be this bratty, damsel in distress which is what I thought was happening. But she's actually a no nonsense baddy who can take care of her self but still flourishes with her mates beside her. Even though they started off a little rocky.
I really hope we see more of Joaquin and Laken. Out of all the side characters, they intrigued me the most. I want to see where their relationship with Jessa goes.
My favorite scene would have to be when Shasta, Kadi and Ethan are in her kitchen eating Alfredo. That whole scene is carefree and goofy and playful.
If you love PNR with fated mates and epic battles. You'll want to read this.
Absolutely loved this book so much!! Shasta is one of my favorite witch characters. She's sassy, vocal and downright stubborn. Which makes it EXTREMELY when the heads of a local MC group walk through her store door. What's better than the heads of an MC group? SHIFTERS. It was interesting getting to know both Kadi and Ethan. I absolutely loved Kadi right from the start, but Ethan...Ethan had to work for it XD. He had me frustrated for a little while! Though who could really blame him for acting like a jerk when he's been through some seriously painful and traumatic events as a kid?? Though I will say that my top favorite is Loki the Cat. (IYKYK). Their worlds collide right when that tiny piece of dirt threatens to offset the balance. Things are going to spin out of control. The only way any of them are going to make it out in one piece is if they can learn to get along. Be ready, though!! Ravin's got some serious twists and turns in store for you! Fantastic job, Ravin!! I can't wait to see more from this world!!! Definitely can't wait to add this to my shelf!!
Shasta is a very powerful witch and owns a bookstore with her bestie, a patger shifter.
Ethan is the president of the Wrath motorcycle club and a lion shifter with a grudge against witches. Kadi is the VP of the club and also a lion shifter. These men are as close to brothers without sharing blood.
While out chasing a dark magic lead they come across Shasta. Ethan immediately hates she is a witch and Kadi kisses her hand discovering they are fated mates.
From here everything changes and the amount of conspiracy, secrets, grudges, hate, magic and mayhem ramps up. This book hits you hard and fast.
I laughed, cried and bit my lip through it. The characters had to face a lot and grow even more. I can't wait to see what is next in this series. I also want more of Loki.
I leave you with a quote that was hot as well as funny.
'Hot mate? ✅ Sexy abs? ✅ Vibrating bike? ✅ Going to have to change my panties when I get home? ✅"
Prey from Ravin Demarco will definitely have you thinking who is the hunter and who is the Prey. With a strong, determined and feisty female protagonist, the male leads have their hands full in such a good, steamy and electrifying way. The balance between the characters allows for individual and harem growth and while one character is perfectly swoon worthy to begin with, the other must show he is worthy of her forgiveness and love. There are plot twists to keep you guessing, a strong sense of family and friendship and an overall storyline that is sure to evolve further as the series progresses. This is not a standalone and while I want answers, and I will get my answers, the fast pace of the book shows there is so much more that needs unravelling and solving. Let's face it, that ending definitely leads to more questions of who will be hunting next?
This story is a thrilling paranormal dark romance that centers around a formidable FMC, a witch who’s power are awe-inspiring and a huge part of her identity. On the other side we have two MMCs who are equally compelling as lion shifters. Shasta is a very likable character, she’s a badass who doesn’t put up anything & has the most amazing relationship with her friends & family. In the beginning Kadi is very likable, Ethan on the other hand not so much. Kadi is very respectful & gentle, towards the end Ethan changes his ways for her & stops being such a dick. The boys genuinely care about her & their chemistry was incredible, but the story was very faced paced so you get straight to the plot & I wish there was more development between the characters. Overall I loved it, this is my second book by Ravin & I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I absolutely loved this book. It pulls you in from the very beginning. We start off meeting Shasta. She is this powerful witch that instantly has you loving her personality, and her sassy attitude. We quickly meet Ethan and Kadi who are part of the Wrath Motorcycle Club. We quickly see there are some issues with Ethan and witches but Kadi is the charmer. The story quickly evolves and we see a ton of action, drama and suspense. It pulls you in and keeps you glued to it. I couldn’t put it down and devoured it so quickly. My only complaint was with myself that I just couldn’t get enough and had to find out what happened. The characters are extremely well developed and the writing didn’t leave you feeling like you were missing out on things. This story is absolutely fantastic and doesn’t disappoint.
I started this as a ARC book. But life happened and I had to finish this on unlimited. This was my first lion shifter book, also first book by Miss DeMarco. However it won't be the last but this great author. This was a non traditional shifter book, and I liked it. The story line was very good and intriguing. This is a why choose book MFM to be exact. I was honestly glad there was no 🍑 play. That seems to be in every book, it's not a trigger I'll still read it. I'll just roll my eyes 🤣🤣 Kadi was definitely my favorite out of any of them. Which is odd cause I'm usually a Dom lady which should have meant Ethan was my favorite lol. But this book I was firmly team golden retriever. I'm hoping that there will be other books this one didn't end on a cliffhanger but definitely some unanswered question.
