Sometimes life smacks you right in the kisser with a whole lot of ohhhh craaaaap.

Just ask Darcy Walker.

100 Proof Stud picks up four months after No Brainer's cliffhanger ending, and Darcy discovers the aftermath pales in comparison to the crisis her heart is in. All of a sudden it's raining men, and this teenage heroine’s personal life turns her inside out.

Before she can sort out her feelings, she chases a spray-painting vandal and stumbles upon a case of identity theft right in her own backyard. Darcy jumps into the fray headfirst to prove she can hang with the big boys.

But it’s not just to hang…nope, she’s chasing reward money.

Tapping her band of misfit brothers for help, she turns Valley upside down trying to unearth the criminals. Problem is, the cloak and dagger goes high-octane, and she raises the bar on “crazy" in the process.

Bullets ring out…dead bodies appear…and Darcy rubs shoulders with the ultimate sociopath. In the midst of murder and mayhem, will she finally follow her heart or build a fortress of lies around it? Will she even get the chance?

I can’t say enough about 100 Proof Stud. Most of my pressing questions from Grade A Stupid and No Brainer were answered!

Darcy starts off stuffing her face with hotdogs at her bookstore job. But soon enough the hijinks begin and she’s being her funny, crazy self. Then she can’t seem to settle down with the one guy we all want her to be with and she goes through the charades of does she or doesn’t she...and, well, I won’t spoil it. But all the way it’s fun, compelling, agonizing, and laugh-out-loud funny too!

So, Darcy is messing around with her love life at the same time she’s trying to hunt down some vandals, murderers, and identity thieves. Her “brotherhood” stands beside her, even getting a new member or two. I especially like the small one. **winks deviously while holding back**

Darcy wraps it up in Darcy style. I loved it and you will too.

*This review is from an ARC that I was lucky enough to snag.

First off this book deserves 20 stars. This series has became my favorite new series. This author is so brilliant and talented. I read all three books in about 5 days. But this one is my favorite in the series. The story telling A.J does is like no other. I’ve never read books like this. This book is hilarious, I was laughing so hard. Darcy is my favorite female character. She is funny, witty, and smart and she gets herself in many situations. You wonder what is about to happen next, what is Darcy going to do now. This series is a must read, if you like some mystery this is the book for you. There is also a little bit of romance going on with Dylan and Darcy they spice it up a little in this book. I hope A.J really makes more books in this series because I love all the characters so much and I am not ready to say goodbye to them. Thank you A.J for writing another great book! Your work is genius

Perfect beach read! If you read one book this summer, make sure this is the one. Break Me is so sweet! I could relate to Gemma and I really loved that. I could totally see where Gemma was coming from with her trust issues. Im the same way. I loved watching her grow into an adult with each obstacle she faced. I was so proud of her!

I loved Abe so much! Complete sweetheart and a hottie at that. ;) Im so glad he was such a patient person, especially with Gemma. He is definitely a great swoon worthy book boyfriend. Girls, Im not even kidding. You have got to meet this guy! He will blow your mind!

I cant wait to read more by Harper James. I have absolutely loved everything she writes! She is brilliant!

This book was just like the other two, in that is was exciting to read, funny and full of great characters. However, it also had the faults of the other two books. Everything is so over the top it can be a bit cartoon-ish at times. Why does Darcy (or the author) try to make herself sound as unattractive as possible? It doesn't make sense when every guy she meets is like in love with her. Anyway, I found this book a bit more enjoyable and readable than book 2. We finally got some progress on the Dylan and Darcy relationship (I couldn't understand Darcy's reluctance. Aaah she drove me crazy). I've also come to the realisation that Dylan and her are not real. No 15/16 year old friends act and talk like that, do they? It is crazyily and sickenly lovey-dovey at times.

I think the thing that bugged most of all about the this book (and I guess the others) is that this author jumps from scene to scene, with no transitions or time spent describing the aftermath as it happens. It's all just a few lines as Darcy recounts what happened for the reader. The biggest crime was the transition from book 2 to 3. I was so angry that after that shocking and dramatic ending to book 2 we literally get 3 sentences mentioning it in the whole of this book. What! That is so frustrating. I know it will probabaly be mentioned a couple of more times once Lincoln shows up again, but it's crap that we can't read what happened right after the crash. Those are the best parts.

Despite this I really liked this book and will definitely be reading book 4.

The young maven of mystery, murder, mischief, and all around mayhem has managed to keep herself alive long enough to risk her life for a third time in 100 Proof Stud.

This is the book that those of us who fell in love with Darcy and the gang in books 1 and 2 have been holding our proverbial breaths for.
Yes! This is the one that answers all those pesky questions.
This is also the book where Darcy also answers a few important questions for the hunky Dylan. (a.k.a the boyfriend with the patience of a saint and the body from heaven)
It is so nice to see these two finally make some progress in the love department. Even if things do get marshmallow mushy in the process.

The soft place to fall that Dylan and her friends provide, serves as the perfect counterpoint to all of the sleuthing that our dear Darcy gets up to.
On the hunt for a wide array of waywards, ranging from a not so creative local vandal, to an identity thief, Darcy soon finds herself eyeball deep in the Darcy-style drama.

Darcy is not your average heroine...in fact, if she heard you call her that she might curse you out for calling her a drug. LOL!
She has flaws, scars, and insecurities...and she doesn't always get it right.
Unless of course, solving cases is involved.
Most of the fun in following her lies in the mess making that fans of D know and love.

This is a wonderful laugh-out-loud, edge of your seat read. While Darcy and her story are over the top, the writing style and plot direction that the series creator has established as hallmarks of her work demand nothing less.

OMG I swear I will have an anxiety disorder by the time this series ends.
Darcy will kill me slowly by putting herself in the most precarious situations and I still don't know about her and Dylan. Although I love Dylan to bits, I know Darcy will do something stupid along the way.
She always does. I would love for her to be more forthcoming with the poor guy.
Absofuckinglutely amazing job on this book and all the others.
They deserve a broader audience. By God, they are amazing reads.
I will go on to the next after 10 therapy sessions. That's what Darcy does to me. I need to be mentally and physically prepared before reading a Darcy book. She's a verb damn it, not a noun.

I really wish I could give more than 5 stars for 100 Proof Stud. Darcy is at it again and caused me to get funny looks from my family because I was laughing so hard at Darcyspeak. She had me cracking up because of what she says and thinks.

"Crazy? Sure, but we did crazy like Al-Qaeda did terrorism."
"Youdoghumpingmothertruckingponkey"
"Our relationship had evolved through four stages: best friends, flirting, him acknowledging his true feelings, and then me running like an illegal immigrant across the U.S. Border."

The things this girl says. She truly does not have a filter from her brain to her mouth and I absolutely love it.

True to Darcy style, she takes on figuring out who spray painted Coaches car while it was in the school's parking lot. She is also trying to find out who The Ghost is. The Ghost is an identity thief that she accidentally stumbled upon while answering her uncle's cell phone and pretended to be her aunt. Once again, Darcy thinks she can figure it all out.

Dylan is, well, Dylan. I really wish boys would have been like this when I was in highschool. He says his normal line to Darcy, and it's still a major swoon moment. "Come here and let me love you." If only Dylan was about 15 years older.

The relationship between Dylan and Darcy is changing. They both are finally coming to terms with their feelings for each other and are admitting them to one another.

"Your smile is killer, but your heart is what makes mine beat every day. You're the concrete I stand on, Dylan. Always have been....always will be."

"Conversations like this are what would make me lie down and die for you, Darcy. You're funny. Your face is gorgeous, but your soul...your soul is what slays me."

"Because of who I am. I'm not so sure you can handle....who I truly am."

She is finally admitting that she does see a possibility of more with him, but she is so scared that once he finds out about what she really does, and what she hides from him, he won't want her like that anymore.

"Give me a chance, Darc. Please"

"Dylan Taylor left me breathless, and I wondered how in the world I could've missed what had been standing beside me for years."

We also get some questions about Darcy's mom answered. We know, sort of, what happened to her and why she isn't in the picture anymore. But I feel there is still a lot more to it, and I can't wait to find out what that is.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Darcy story if there aren't some dead bodies laying around somewhere. Or without Vinnie and is other identities. We also get to meet a new character and Darcy has her couple of near death experiences. I wish I knew more younger girls so that I could recommend this series to them. I can't wait for Defcon Darcy!!

I loved the epilogue and it was the only part of the story that didn't make me laugh.

"Darcy Winston Walker had a boyfriend. Dylan Michael Taylor held the title."

First off I need to say this book was full of excitement on every page . One way or the other . Darcy was a 16 year old girl with ADHD . She always was in the middle of something somehow or other. She didn't think much of herself but she must have been wrong because so many guys liked her. Her description of the guys at school was in very much detail, how they dressed and looked. Dylan was a good looking guy who was in love with Darcy for years . They spent a lot of time together. She was a virgin and he said he would wait for her. Lots of school fights, poor Darcy. She did have a job but also tried to earn income with side jobs. You will never believe what she gets herself into.

If my kid did these things....

I always enjoy the slapstick that is Darcy, but admit, if my kid ever did the crap this girl does she would be on house arrest until she's 25. I'm also still baffled that adults haven't figured out it is a teenager they're dealing with, but again, makes for an entertaining read. Darcy is kinda clueless at times, but also a little too smart which lands her and unfortunately, her friends into danger. Seriously, the girl probably would have died in real life. Darcy gets bored and when she is bored and stumbles onto a mystery, God help those who care about her. She either lies by omission or edits her version of the truth to suit her, but is still likeable...which is part of her charm. She's also very much like a teenager with the low self confidence as it relates to her looks, and doesn't understand how boys like her. I like her, klutz and all. There were all kinds of players which made it a little more difficult to figure out who was behind the identity theft and as usual, there is more going on than just that one thing. Again, a little slapstick, but entertaining.

OMG DARCY IS AMAZEBALLS!!!!!! :D

[Insert random ramblings about Dylan here: Gorgeous, athletic, hot bod, knows how to love, smart, DIMPLES, tall, and guy I'd like to meet. :D Oh how I love Dylan let me count the ways. lol but seriously I wish this guy existed, I would be all over that like a bowl of ice cream. I love his alphaness and he would give alpha wolves a run for their money. I could go on forever how amazing he is, but I'll let you figure out that yourselves. and you can think my best friend Snyder for putting insert things about Dylan. All I did was gush about him. So yeah Tiffany out ] LOL ;)

BEWARE READER! This book contains guns (not the water guns), Testosterone, Lots of flirting, Danger at every turn, and DYLAN!!!!!!!!! *Swoons*

Darcy never seems to disappoint me. I never know what to expect and I love her for it. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a character more. I feel connected to the characters in this book like no other. A.J. Lape knows how to make you love someone and hate someone. I quote frankly think she is a genius. :D Let’s get back to the book shall we lol

100 Proof Stud was everything I imagined it to be! There was mystery, bone chilling creeper men, and hot guys….ok make that one hot guy with a semi hot guy on the side (Ben). I don’t know how she gets into the things she does, but she has a knack at finding out the truth. And I swear I get the paranormal vibe from this book, like with Ben and the Ouija board. That was some freaky stuff! You will just have to read the book for yourself to find out what I’m talking about. I feel like I should say more. I was practically read half the book to my best friend; she was over while I was reading it. I was laughing at practically everything. Darcy does not have a serious bone in her body and I freakin love it. She is the sweetest girl ever, but if you mess with one of her friends you better watch out. Oh and her friend Justice was awesome and I just loved Rudi. She was the cutest little thing and I wish she was more confident in her self. OH MY GOSH I have not talked about Dylan!!!!!! I must be on something, seriously. Dylan is a guy that you wish you had. He may have a protective streak and be all alpha male, but he is ALL lover. I practically swoon every time he and Darcy are together. They are like moths to a flame. Why does this remind of an Edmund Spenser poem I read? It is sonnet 30 from Amoretti and it states “How comes it then that this her cold so great / Is not dissolved through my so hot desire, / But harder grows the more I her entreat?” Darcy inst cold to him, but she doesn’t really encourage him either….well she does but doesn’t. And well Dylan he is hot for the Darcy. LOL he just gets hotter for her the more she tries to pull away. ;) But yeah this book rocked my socks off. This is seriously one of the best books ever and I will forever remember everything in it. Darcy like I’ve probably said in a lot of my other reviews has a special place in my heart. I can’t get enough of her crazyness! It is always a crazy adventure and there is always always the possibility that she won’t make it out alive. Like I said the whole thing is a mystery and I freaking love that A.J. can keep you guessing till the very end! And then WHAM BAM Out comes all the dirty little secrets. I feel exhausted after reading it but fully sated as well. Darcy can about give me a heart attack at times. I feel for Murphy. Lol He is the best by the way. He gets the best dad ever award. I’m totally rambling right now. This book was just too good for words. Just take my word for it and buy it! You will not be dissatisfied.

Overall: 100 Proof Stud was action-packed, laughs danger in the face, highly addicting, and just plan ole amazing! This is what you call the whole package. If you want it, 100 Proof Stud has it. Darcy is all verb and you better buckle your seat belt because you are about to go on a wild and slightly crazy ride.

100 Proof Stud is full of giggles, hot boys, hot girls and drama of high school. There is also some crime happening around the school area. Darcy plans to solve she can use the money for Christmas.

Darcy is in high school. Her best friend is Dylan Taylor. She hangs around with a lot of guys that she has adopted into her gang with their permission or not. She works in a book store. She gets into messes because she is curious and finds dead bodies.

Dylan Taylor is a rich school jock who is also smart. He and Darcy have been best friends for years. Now his feelings are changing. He is a good guy but has a temper especially if someone is hurting Darcy.

Darcy was asked by coach to figure out who spray painted his car. She agrees for a reward. She also finds some fake Ids and falls into looking for the students who are thought to be behind it. The leader is even thought to kill a couple of guys who have found out who he is. Darcy gets her friends into helping her.

Their is good suspense of who is behind the different crimes. Also with different people who want to see her safe.
There is plenty of soap drama with relationships around her with adults and high school students. Dylan wants to start dating Darcy but she is afraid it will damage what they have. Plus she thinks he deserves better than her.

Darcy has a fake identity called Jester. So her family won't find out what she is doing. a reporter has had his identity stolen and was calling her Aunt about it.

The story was a little long for me had to read it over a couple of days. Do like Darcy and her friends.
I have the first two books to read about Darcy and her friends and will look forward to reading them too.
I was given this ebook to read and in return agreed to give honest review of 100 Proof Stud.

You know when you start reading an amazing book and you are trying your hardest not to rush it because you want to savour every single bit and you know when you finish you will sit then and wonder what you are going to do until the next book comes out? Yeah that is exactly what this book did to me. I found myself reading my torch light.
This book is the best book in this series by far. I honestly have no idea how the author is going to top it.
I love Darcy. There is a little bit of Darcy in every single one of us - some more so than others.
In this third installment we watch Darcy go through her own rollercoaster ride of emotions.
The previous two books have always left me with questions about Darcy's mother and a few other things.
i don't want to give anything away but this book reveals where/what happened to Darcy's mother. It also has characters revealing a few things of their own - leaving poor Darcy's head in a spin.
Each book you feel for Darcy. You cheer when she gives Brynn and Ivy what for. You laugh when she does her normal Darcyisms. Then there are the sad times where you want to comfort her and then there are the times you want to jump into the story and give the young girl a bit of advice.
This is definitely a must read.
I could be here all day praising this book and telling you what a talented author A.J Lape is but I think it is something you need to discover on your own.

When I first picked up this book I thought it would be just a mystery with a younger protagonist. Was I wrong!!

Darcy Walker is nothing like the sleuths I had read before. She is off the wall crazy. She is a teenager that seems to have no fear. She puts herself in some incredibly dangerous situations. Plus she is unbelievably funny. She has her own set of DarcySpeak – like fastard – ” Boys that are fast, tell you they love you, then set up your next date only for you to find out the fastard has a steady on the sly. Substitute a “b” if you are the cursing type” is just one example. It seems wherever Darcy goes Mayhem follows.

In the midst of the madness there is a romance really starting to bloom. I really enjoy reading about the start of young love. Since this is the first book in the series I have read I am missing the back-story but what I read I liked.

As this was my first Darcy/A.J. Lape read so it took me a while to get with the flow of her writing but soon I was just going with the flow. It has been a long time since high school and as a mom I hope there are no real Darcys out there. But this sure was a fun read.

A.J. Lape knows her audience. Teens will love this book. Their moms will like it too but it would be uncool to tell their kids that :)

So when we last left off in the Darcy Walker Series things were looking bleak in Darcyville. AJ Lape did such a amazing job not only filling in where we last left off but with the storyline in general. This story is so far the my favorite in the series and considering I absolutely loved the first two books that is saying alot. Darcy is her normal crazy self but shes a character you can't help but love her for all her querks. Dylan oh Dylan where can I start. He is not only a alpha male but he's extremely open with his heart and his love for Darcy and you can't help but swoon when he opens his mouth. The story line keeps you glued from page one and when you think you have everything figured out like I did AJ changes it up and throws you in a complete and opposite direction. In this book you get to learn more about Darcy's mother and even a little bit about the mysterious Jaws, of course Vinny is back with his pink bug and you have the reliable Finn & Grumpy to Darcy rescue. This series is only getting better as the story continues and I can't wait to see where it goes.

OMG!!! How does Darcy get herself into these situations? This is the third book in The Darcy Walker Series and it picks up right were the last one ends. Darcy always finds herself in unique situations that turns out her finding and solving the next mystery that comes her way. AJ out does herself with this story. I started this book and couldn't put it down until I finished it. My day turned out to be a Darcy Day and nothing could keep me from reading this book in one sitting. This story has romance, mystery and laugh out loud moments that keep you reading and wanting to know what will happen next. WOW!!! Darcy and Dylan finely turn up the heat factor in this story!!!! Love these two and they way they love each other. Darcy and her friends have continually grown with each story and I can't wait until the next one comes out. This author is amazing and the way she writes words to make a story come to life will keep you entertained. This is a must read series!!! I wonder what will Darcy face in the up coming books.

Darcy Walker is a teenager of extra ordinary talents, especially for getting into trouble. Trying to help her coach solve a mystery leads to a bigger mystery and before she knows it she is once again where she shouldn’t be. Along with her teen angst, her confusion surrounding her best friend Dylan and a few other assorted things, she isn‘t always sure what is what. The only thing she does know is that this time she may be in way over her head.
Another delightful Darcy book, I don’t think I could ever get enough of this series. I cannot wait for my granddaughter to get a little older so I can introduce her to Darcy too. This series will forever be at the top of my favorites list. Well written and capable of pulling you into the story to the point that trying to stop at any given point is almost impossible, you need to read it all. Then when finished sit back and say again, again. There isn’t anything left for me to say but go get this series, you will never regret it. Many thanks to A. J. Lape for giving me her book to read and review.please keep them coming!!

I swear as this series goes on it gets more exciting and I just don't want to put it down. I love Darcy, she is such a funny character who makes me laugh all the time. Darcy obviously is still really hurting over the death of her mother and the circumstances of how she died, and the fact she really doesn't see how beautiful she is and what people especially Dylan sees in her is sad. I feel Darcy is so scared to allow her feelings for Dylan to advance because she truly doesn't think she is worthy of him. I however think she is brilliant and obviously so does Dylan. It hurt me knowing that he was hanging out with Darcy's arch enemies but am thrilled with the ending. I'm hoping Darcy can allow her happiness with Dylan to evolve in the next book and can't wait to read more.

100 Proof Stud is AJ Lape's best work yet!

The relationship complexities and dangerous adventures grow a with each book. It's so hard to write a review WITHOUT giving anything away!
buuuuut...
We learn a smidgen more about Darcy's mom.
We meet new crazy characters.
We embrace and learn more about the Nutball Brothers.

And so many major questions will answered, leaving even more that will need to be asked.
Oh, and the ending, everything I could have wanted it to be!

Hilarious, witty, and loads of fun! Darcy Walker is a recipe for disaster -- she's a pinch of Lucille Ball and a dash of Laverne and Shirley. For younger readers, if you ever get a chance to watch anyone interview Jennifer Lawrence, you have witnessed Darcy in the flesh. AJ Lape continues in 100 Proof Stud the antics and mystery that surround her main character. Yes, there's another dead body. Yes, there's more romance, and yes, there are more predicaments that leave you ROFL! Definitely worth the read, and I can only imagine what story will unfold in the next book with a title like Defcon Darcy!

I am defiantly falling head over heals in love with the entire Darcy Walker Series and AJ Lape is now ranking in my top 10 favorite authors list.
Darcy is at it again in the third installment of the Darcy Walker Series, but this time she's bringing a few of her "brothers" along for the ride. I laughed so hard at the "drug bust" my kids thought I was insane, until I read it to them.
It doesn't come as a surprise to anyone that AJ will go far with this series, and I look forward to reading the next installment.

100 Proof Stud by A.J. Lape is another wonderful read. Witty, suspenseful, happy, sad, confusing, all of the things we have come to expect from 16 year old Darcy Walker. I also hope her guardian angel is working overtime. Darcy crosses so many lines, they become blurred into a jumbled reality. I was super happy to see the genius that is A.J. Lape reappear and spread her wings a bit farther in this episode. Well done!

100 Proof Stud is AJ Lape's best work yet!!
The relationship complexities and dangerous adventures grow a with each book. its so hard to write a review WITHOUT giving anything away!
buuuuut..
We learn a smidgen more about Darcy's mom.
We meet new crazy characters.
We embrace and learn more about the Nutball Brothers.

And so many major questions will answered, leaving even more that will need to be asked.

review to come

This Laugh out Loud whodunnit will keep you reading all night! Darcy Walker is funny and full of wit and she doesn't let anyone push her around. She will have you laughing so hard you cry. Her Darcyisms are fantastic and they will have you rolling as she says them without thinking and at just the perfect time. I love how A.J. drew you into the story and made you want to stay till the end. What a great summer read to take your mind of things life has to throw at you!

I received a copy of this book from A.J. Lape. I am a big fan of A.J.'s and I love Darcy Walker. She is so funny and always up to something. Fastard Hater 4 Life!!!!! Gotta love Darcyville cause something is always going on. This is the 3rd book in the series and let me tell you what a great series you really would need to read Grade A Stupid and No Brainer to understand this series. You will have some laughs that's for sure. 5 star review.

A.J Lape is AMAZING! I will be keeping my eye out for more Darcy and Dillon over the years. Actually, anything A.J writes, I can honestly say I will buy. I love her work, her humour and her characters!

I loved it. It had the same craziness from Darcy as the first 2 books. I'm happy to see things go in the right direction for her and Dylan. I was actually surprised by the villain, and can't wait for the next book.
