Saylor Harriett

Horror Houses. Slutty Pumpkins. Buried Trauma.

Is there any better time of year than Halloween?

When I wake up in a strange place with no memory of the night before, I immediately cut my losses and bail. That doesn't stop Pack Rhys from tracking me down and returning the belongings I left behind.

Noah Rhys and Corey Hart are exactly my type and my god do their scents call to me. The pull is nothing like I've felt before, and with my omega already laying claim, I can't help but agree to spend time with them.

These alphas quickly become everything I never knew I needed. But with my abuser lurking in the shadows, the threat of losing them becomes more than I can bear. They shouldn’t have to deal with my demons.

This is my fight. I won't let him have any more of my fear. It's time for this game of cat and mouse to end. This time the
roles are reversed.

The question is, will he fall for my trap? And will Pack Rhys forgive me for leaving them in the dark?

*This novella contains some MM, referebces to past SA (happens off page), kidnapping, violence, and assault. It also contains open door spice.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Such a spicy, fast reading, holiday omegaverse. If you're looking for something that brings Halloween vibes that's spicy, and has an alpha's trying to protect an omega from their old kidnapper, read this book. It's 20 chapters, so it is a fast read, and it gives you 2 men that are super hunky.

Tropes:
- Omegaverse
- Why Choose (MMF)
- College Omega
- Scent Matches
- Holiday Romance (Halloween)
- Small Town
- Heat
- Bi- Sexual Alpha's
- Traumatic Past
- Stalking
- Super Spicy

Saylor has stayed her new life over in a new town at a new college. She escaped her past life from an alpha that was supposed to protect her. She lives with her best friend, Izzy.

They go to a Halloween party on campus one night, and it's led to believe Saylor could have been drugged. It's unclear on that part, but it's pretty clear that she was. She then smells 2 scents that screams "Mate." She chases after the scents, but it's cornered by her old kidnapper.

Noah and Corey are Pack Rhys. They are a couple but have always been open to finding their omega. After finding their mate cornered in an alley, they save her and bring her back to their home. They also run a safe haven for omegas in trouble. Corey is police and works campus security, and Noah owns a fighting gym.

Saylor wakes up in a strange home, not remembering anything. She is left a note explaining where she is, but not much else besides to come out and meet them when she wakes up. She had been in this situation before, and it didn't end well for her, so she sneaks out and leaves. Not remembering her past is out to her her.

Noah and Corey have to find their scent match again and protect her. They also want to know more about her. They're scared she won't want them, and they can't see themselves without her now. They slowly introduce themselves to her again when they find her at work. After she meets her scent matches again, they throw her into her heat.

Will Saylor choose to be with her matches, or will she run scared again. What will happen when she learns that her old tormentor is out after her again? Saylor is very sassy and very stubborn. Will Noah and Corey be able to save Saylor in time?

It's a cute and spicy read. I read this book in about 4 hours. It was good enough that I couldn't put it down, but there were some things I thought was missing or that needed more information on. This book would have been spooktacular (lol, see what I did there) if it would have been longer. The relationship seemed so rushed and unnatural at times. Especially when you add in all the outside factors.

I would recommend reading this book if you love OV and looking for something quick and spicy. You do get scenes between all three of them and between Noah and Corey. They are a couple before Saylor was added in.

I received this as an ARC from the author for my honest review.

Look. The minute I saw the title of this book, my exact reaction was "There's just no fucking way." And I was willing to give it a shot. But five typos in the glossary alone? This book was never going to get more than 3 stars. It's getting 1 star because I have to put something down.

I'm aware that indie authors aren't always capable of having their books professionally edited, but this is completely unacceptable. This is the first draft surely. There are so many typos and even misspellings that have me convinced the author has turned off her spellchecker entirely. How can there be this many mistakes and it still makes it through to a published work? Missing apostrophes? This is not middle school and this author should know better. This is so unprofessional.

The dialogue is also pretty stilted. I love a good alpha more than 99% of people who read this genre. I am sick of alpha assholes in the omegaverse, but Noah and Corey's dialogue is so bad? I'm glad they're good dudes, but we're basically just told that because this is a novella and there's no room to show it.

Also this is tonally all over the place. We bounce from an omega having a near panic attack about her rapist stalking her to her furiously masturbating with nipple clamps on and then begging these two guys she barely knows to fuck her. The whiplash is insane. The final scene with Luke is also just stupid. There was no reason Saylor had to go it alone and I was so annoyed I was throwing my hands up the entire time.

Just a waste from start to finish. "Sassy omega." I pray to Poseidon I never see those words again.

A Bit Of Pumpkin Spice With A Dash Of A Sweet HEA 🎃

A sweet, warm & fuzzy OV story with a serious stalker threat & a constant threat of danger through most of the story. I was amazing at how well Roxy balanced the sweetness of omegaverse, as well as the Halloween & cozy fall vibes, with the very real & emotional talk of a past assault (previous PA & SA mentioned in a vague way, not very detailed at all, just FYI) & threat by our omega’s stalker. I loved how her potential alphas, Noah & Corey, were advocates for omega safety, and knew exactly how to support & encourage her through her fears, not to mention their protective instincts that were on high alert. They quickly became just as enamored with her as they already were with each other. When I say these guys understood what consent & boundaries were, & how to abide by them (even during Saylor’s heat 🔥)…well, let’s just say they deserve some applause 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Seeing Saylor finding the strength to face her fears, the external & internal ones, and watching her find a HEA with her scent matches, was a quick & thoroughly enjoyable read. Definitely a good read if you enjoy OV, scent matches that bring on an almost insta-love connection, cinnamon roll protective alphas who love each other as much as their omega (⚔️), a touch of danger & action, and the perfect amount of spicy moments to add the icing to the cake (including that 🔥 epilogue). It also helped get me in the fall/pumpkin season frame of mind that can be hard when you live in the south 😉🔥😂 Happy I gave this a shot, and squeezed it in to my busy ARC schedule 🧡

Started reading and honestly got to a little over halfway through and had to stop multiple times before managing to finish- this is like reading a poorly written and unedited college wannabe author’s rough draft. I’m sorry if that seems harsh but as someone who loves fluffy, light, hea’s that can be light on the plot and heavy on the spice (meaning I wasn’t looking for the next literary hit of the century) this is not any of those things.

Annoyingly, from the very beginning, the author switches between British English and American English regularly and the description of events don’t fit American culture or normal social interactions, such as policing and their response to criminal events. The author really needed to decide if this was a British book or an American one and follow through. The main male characters in this book are not alphas at all- I’d be pushing it to call them betas. They are whiny, shallow, social justice wannabe warriors who have no redeeming qualities and honestly don’t even seem appealing even as a one night stand. And what is with the weird random scene of the leading female character where she is trying to *ahem* self-gratify but she was also still terrified after being harassed by a stalker ex? I’m sorry but what? That scene was honestly gross and borderline dark.

I was really hoping for a quick and steamy sweet fall-themed read but this didn’t get anywhere close to that. Skip this hot mess, find yourself some cozy and spicy omegaverse somewhere else, and save yourself the time I can never get back.

Roxy Leigh's Knotty Pumpkin is a cute, smexy story that does deal with some heavy topics. Saylor is an omega who hasn't quite recovered from a traumatic event in her life. To escape it she leaves the city with her best friend in tow so that she isn't alone. Months later she is moving forward and ready to celebrate Halloween. I am a huge Halloween fan, so I love that this book revolves around it. While at a Halloween party she scents her mates and rushes out. Unfortunately, she isn't able to find them and runs into someone from her past. As Noah and Corey are passing the alley they notice that Saylor in the alley being bothered. They head into the alley to rescue her and take her back to their house to sleep it off. They are intrigued by her scent and want to explore it further. However, they aren't giving the chance when she sneaks out the next morning. When they find her she is on the verge of her heat. This is when the book gets hot, hot, and hot. While I can see while some of her choices may seem strange for someone with her past, but I placed them mostly on her designation and her heat. That isn't to say that she doesn't have control of her facilities, she is just letting her heat guide her. Noah and Corey complement each other so much and when Saylor is added they are a perfect trio. Pay attention to warnings in the front of the book, Saylor's trauma is talked about and could be upsetting to some. I will be recommending this book and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of her works.

3.25 slutty 🎃

Knotty Pumpkin is a fast paced instalust/instalove omegaverse novella. it plays very much into the tropes of fall/halloween with Saylor, the omega and fmc, scent being pumpkin spice and the nickname her alphas, Noah and Corey, give her is Pumpkin, lol. but honestly, that is what i wanted out of Holidayverse novella.

though this was instalust/instalove with scent matches, you still get the discussions of limits and boundaries before Saylor fully goes into heat.

i enjoyed this quick holiday read, however i wasn’t a fan of how the mmcs used their alpha bark multiple times during spicy scenes not to get the fmc to eat or drink. it felt unnecessary and weird in those instances. also the number of times it was described that Corey was a “smaller alpha” compared to Noah. there was also a lot of repetitiveness that didn’t seem necessary since this was a novella.

⚠️ i would def check all the CWs for the book as it does have some heavy themes including on page attempted SA and discussions of past SA and imprisonment (not by the MMCs)

the series looks like it’s the first of the Holidayverse series centered around a different couple/pack for each book. next one being for winter/Christmas and a brother’s best friend age gap.

I loved this holiday Novella! It was just what I need to be able to read for the spooky season but was still light hearted! I loved that! I loved the balance of sweeteners but also the emotional and real talk of their past. This novella was so good!

I loved Saylor and her Alphas Noah and Corey. They were so protective of her and supportive they were of her. They encouraged her but also became smitten with her. But I also loved the balance between the two alphas as well. Their love for each was just as strong as their love for Saylor. I loved the passion between these characters and they each being a piece to the relationship that was needed.

Spice? Yes I loved it! But I also loved the romantic and sweet moments and the way even though Saylor had a heat they were big on consent. That was so sweet the way they did that.

Overall, this book was so cute and full of Halloween/vibes. I loved the characters and plot. I highly recommend this omegaverse if your looking for a holiday novella thats a quick read!

The Pumpkin Fights Back . . .

Saylor is an Omega who attends a party and is being forced into something she does not want. She either drank too much or something else is making her feel odd and in danger. Luckily Corey Hart, who works in campus security for the college to protect others, sees what is going on and intervenes when he notices the sleazy alpha trying to take advantage of her while she is in no condition to consent. Noah joins him and they take her to safety with their pack.

Saylor finds herself waking up in the Rhys pack where she is attracted to her two protective alpha rescuers, Noah Rhys and Corey Hart. She knows she is going into heat and the two alphas are a perfect choice to get her through it. But Saylor’s earlier life experiences had not been pleasant and Luke, the abuser she is trying to escape, is still tracking her down after her rescue. But maybe it’s time to stop running. How can she keep Noah and Corey safe? Will she try to stop her abuser by herself? And will she find a HEA or be dragged off by her enemy?

No rating because I had to DNF at 47%, largely because of the atrocious grammar and juvenile way the characters had of speaking, but it was veering toward one star. There’s also a lot of repeating scenes, which is never necessary, but in a novella it’s just annoying. Once I got to the part where they literally busted down her door when she’s about to go into heat and this sexually traumatized omega tells these alphas she’s just met that anything goes and “every hole’s a goal,” I’m done. I don’t object to the action, just the continuous speech patterns that make them all sound like prepubescent children.

I wanted short and spicy and seasonal. It might be all of those things, but an author who is writing about a hero who is a policemen and doesn’t even know the spelling for “Sergeant” is not “ Sargent” or “Sargeant” (yes, I did a search and she misspelled it two ways), as well as many other grammar mistakes is unacceptable to me.

Great length, great pacing, great spice, great plot. All around, this was a super balanced read!

I usually prefer my omegaverses more angsty and slowburn, but I actually really enjoyed this fluffy almost-instalove story!

I do wish that we had seen more between Saylor and Corey--we got a little, but it seemed like she focused more on Noah. Similarly, I wish we'd had more active MM action, but there was really only one brief scene towards the end.

Overall, this was fun. Perfect for the month of October. The suspense in the plot kept me engaged, and was totally balance with the spice scenes. Would defo recommend to someone looking for a great holiday OV.

Added the rest of the upcoming series to my TBR! Love holiday themed novellas, especially OV 😍
.

Multiple heat scenes + a non-heat scene
Only 1 MMF scene, most were the two Ms fully focused on F

For a novella, this somehow felt like we were being spun in circles a bit.

I really wanted to like this, it's a mix of my favorite things. Omegaverse? Check. Halloween? Check. Scent matches? Double check.

Even though this was short there was a bit of repetitiveness that had me rolling my eyes. This also could have done with another round of proofreading/editing.

I'm all for a steamy novella-that's why I picked this up.

This just fell a bit flat for me. Make sure to check out the TW/CW since this contains darker themes and scenarios.

A very enjoyable omegaverse romp. This is basically a normal human world but with alpha/beta/omega dynamics.

Omegas, though, can sometimes be horribly abused. Saylor was abused by a vicious alpha, Luke. She is found by two supportive and loving alphas who are also her scent matches (yeah, yeah, everything is convenient).

I have some problems with the work. It starts with Saylor choosing to get absolutely blind drunk at a party, even after her history. Besides being insanely risky, this just seems past reasonable. And the book ends (except for the HEA part) with Saylor executing a "cunning plan" to take Luke down.

But, on the whole, an absolutely fun romp.

I really enjoyed this Omegaverse book. It was short and sweet, which is just what you need sometimes!

If you love scent matches and insta-love Omegaverse stories, then this one is for you. Saylor is a sweetheart of an omega who unfortunately has a tragic past. The author touches on it briefly, so check your trigger warnings. However, I felt I was handled so well in that it explained her mindset without dragging the story down.

Corey and Noah are such good alphas. I absolutely loved them and how they took care of Saylor. She definitely deserves her alphas!

I really enjoyed this book. our FMC is an pumpkin spice omega who LOVES fall. She has a traumatic past of abuse when she meets both her fated mates and has an amazing heat with them. Followed by her abuser resurfacing and stirring up trauma and drama.
I really enjoyed reading about our gal, this is a pretty short novella which I was able to read in about an hour and a half. It has plenty of spice ( pumpkin and otherwise) and is an enjoyable story and well written!.

Knotty Pumpkin by Roxy Leigh is a quick read for the Halloween season. This is an OV story with one female omega and two male alphas; there is MM. Saylor is a college student that is trying to get away from very bad relationship. At a party, Saylor finds a smell that could be her mate. She blacks out and wakes up with the Rhys pack.

How will she react when she meets the pack? How will the guys feel about her? Will Saylor be able to resolve bad relationship in her past?

This was a spicy short story. It was very enjoyable and you should read it now.

Good Read

Knotty Pumpkin is part of the Holidayverse series and follows Saylor who, after waking up in a strange place, flees but leaves her phone behind which leads to Pack Rhys tracking her down to return it and ends up being drawn to the two alphas who return it.

This was a really nice novella, it was super sweet and fluffy with a little bit of bite to keep the story interesting. I loved the characters and I also really liked the setting of the novel which got me into the autumn vibes.

Overall, this was a good read and one I’d recommend.

Omegaverse Novella

Saylor loves Halloween and her naughty pumpkin costume, but the return of her alpha stalker/ previous abductor, threatens to ruin her happiness. She’s saved by two hot alphas that smell like they’re hers, but she knows that her stalker won’t stop until he has her… What’s a little omega to do when she fears for herself and the alphas she wants to call hers?

Spice Level: 4/5

- Some MM action ⚔️
- Threesome
- $ex toys
- Heat/Rut/Knotting
- Stalker
- Past imprisonment/sexual torture mentioned
- Attempted SA
- Drugged at a party

Love, love, and love for such a small read. I am in shock at the characters' development and storyline. I absolutely loved them all.

This book was so much more than I anticipated. There was danger, lust, love, spice that actually worked with the plot and was not just thrown in.

I love the idea of an omega society without shifters being a part of it. Not something I have read alot of but I smashed it did not want to put it down!!!

Can't wait to read more from roxy!!!

spicy, cute and short read

So this book was on the shorter side, and you didn’t really get a sense of the characters. I wish there had been more backstory of the characters, and more character development. I also wish the author wrote more of their story, instead of meet, sleep, and bond. There were some grammatical errors as well, and could have used a round of editing. Overall, a cute book, just better editing and more dynamic to the characters.

I was so excited to receive an ARC for this book. I thought the romance was adorable and the story was really decent for a novella. It wasnt pure smut like some are (nothing wrong with that). However some parts were a bit dark so check triggers first but I definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved it

Sassy, independent omega obsessed with all things autumn, the most perfect complimenting pair of alpha’s, and a psycho stalker. I couldn’t have asked for more. Plus it’s set in my favourite season. 🍁🍂 Fantastic quick read. Super cute moments that make your heart melt.

Cutsey/ hallmark OV

This does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s cute scent matched pack with low angst. It’s got the festive feels of it all (as you’d expect with the cover). Super super easy to read. Perfect for an afternoon in the autumn sun. As with any OV book, there’s a nice spice but not heavy, that becomes plain erotica.

A sweet and steamy OV novella. Omega Saylor (FMC) is traumatised by her Alpha Ex Luke who seems intent on her life being a nightmare. One Halloween party and a run in with Luke leads her to Alphas Noah and Corey. Two sweet Alphas who are fiercely protective of Omegas especially Saylor. A quick read with characters that I liked. A good read.

This is not my first work by this author. Buts it’s not my favorite. It was festive for sure.

Quick read

Wrong season, but still works. I wanted to read this in order so Halloween for Xmas it is. Slightly gray storyline, but otherwise super sweet, plenty of spice and just an all round cute little read. One minute your reading it, the next minute its finished. Even with how short it is, it doesn't feel incomplete. High recommend.
