Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends

Rate this book
Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends is a contemporary sports romance, where our hero unexpectedly finds his best friend's little sister on his doorstep needing a place to hide out from her ex and the world. The only problem, she's not so little anymore . . .

When fate delivers a roommate . . . don’t block it.

Tyler Quinn

There is a beautiful woman unexpectedly living in my house. A woman I sort of know because she’s my best friend’s little sister. Although, she’s definitely not so little anymore.

My entire professional career, I’ve been the starting tight end for the Tampa Tarpons. Life as a football player keeps me in the spotlight, when my preference is the dark. Through unfortunate past experiences, I guard my privacy and don’t do roommates, ever. But when my best friend calls and says he needs a favor, I don’t say no. Although I wish I had. Now she’s here, with her gorgeous turquoise eyes, big trusting smile, and taking up my spot on my couch. I’ve established the rules for how this is going to go, but as time passes and she opens up, I find it’s becoming harder and harder not to break them.

Lily Kent

If I know one thing for certain, I’m never dating another football player again.

After walking away from a very long and expired relationship, I needed a place to stay to plan out my life. My new life. I can work anywhere, so when my brother suggests crashing with his best friend Tyler, I say,”Yes.” Who doesn’t love palm trees, sunshine, and an attractive roommate? Tyler is the definition of tall, dark, and handsome, but the best part is he’s also kind. He makes me feel grounded when everything else feels upside down. He makes me feel things I wasn’t expecting. I know I said no more athletes, but in those moments when his hand grazes my back or when he makes me laugh, I wonder about my plans. Maybe I should change them, maybe we should, after all, fate did lead me to his door.

Kathryn Andrews is a #1 Inspirational Romance Bestselling Author who loves stories that end with a happily ever after. She started writing at age seven and never stopped. Kathryn is known for Chasing Clouds, the Starving for Southern series, and her much loved Hale Brothers series. Her stories are sweet, southern, and fall into the genres of chi-lit, contemporary romance, sports romance, and southern fiction.

Kathryn graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Biology and Chemistry, and currently lives in Tampa, Florida. She spends her days as a sales director for a medical device company and her nights lost in her love of fictional characters.

When Kathryn is not crafting beautiful worlds that incorporate some of her most favorite real life places, she can be found hanging out with her husband and two young sons, while drinking iced coffee and enjoying the sun.

A note from the author...

Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.

Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.

I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.

I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!

My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!

I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.

I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.

So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.

I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.

In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.

Find something that you love and tell yourself, “I do, therefore I am.”

Tiger Lilies And Tight Ends has a catching title and a pretty cover that made me choose to read it. This is the second book in the series and it could be read as a standalone like I did, but now I want to read the previous book because I want to know better the other characters and I was impressed by the Kathryn Andrews writing.

It tells the story of Tyler and Lily, a football player the first and a romance author the latter. They have known each other for a long time because Lily's brother is Tyler best friend but they only met when there's Lance. When Lily breaks up with her boyfriend her brother asks Tyler to host her because she needs a place where to recharge and start anew, he accepts even if he doesn't like to have people in his house. So it begins their coexistence, with some rules and a lot of stolen looks.

I've really liked Lily and Tyler's journey. They easily found a nice companionship, a lively friendship and a comfortable relationship. They are prefect for each other. Tyler helps Lily to become more confident, he supports her career, and Lily helps Tyler to open up and to trust her.

This was a wonderful story. I definitely recommend you give it a try if you enjoy a well written slow burn romance.

At first, the book was slow paced, sweet and funny. All the side characters are silly, goofy respectful men, with so much personality. The male protagonist - Tyler is a reclusive yet kind and sweet grump.
But the female protagonist - Lily is a little weird. There's not much depth to her, I understand she's a very kind woman, who never asked for much but she felt very bland. If everybody hates your boyfriend why are you with him for eight years? EIGHT? E I G H T? He didn't even ask her what her job is?
When Tyler asked her if she has a thing for him, she just said yes? Why was none of them shy or embarrassed or anything given it's a brother's bestfriend trope?
The third act breakup felt unnecessary because Tyler was genuinely rude, how can someone assume this about someone they have known for over a decade? How did her brother not punch his face? If i was her brother i would've. Who tf lets a supposed crush (who's also their own bestfriend) talk to their little sister like that? Tyler should've groveled a lot more.
I liked the parts where Tyler was an absolute simp for her, for a bit, but the story wasn't really going anywhere after a while.
I don't understand how and why Lily was immediately forgiving, see this is why she and her ex were in such a strange relationship lmao.
The story fell very flat for me after 60% and it felt as if the author just wanted to write tropes, not a story. I didn't particularly enjoy it, nor do I hate it, it's alright.
Thankyou to @theauthor.agency for the ARC.

Lily realizes her and her boyfriend of 8 years have grown apart. He would rather be playing football or hanging out with others than with her, so she leaves. Taking time for herself, she needs to find a place to stay. Her brother tells her his best friend Tyler would give her a room at his house. Tyler is a professional football player and doesn't like her quarterback ex-boyfriend. Tyler likes his privacy but knows and trusts Lily.
The longer they live together, the stronger the pull between them becomes. They open up to each other more than that have to anyone else. Tyler shares his past with an ex-girlfriend that destroyed his trust. Lily lets him and shares her true passion.
The banter and chemistry throughout the book was so good. I love the football team group chats, so funny.
Lily and Tyler learn to love and trust others again.

Tyler and Lily are a beautiful story. She’s his brother’s best friend and had her heart broken. He’s kept himself distant from women because of his past.
Now they are roommates and slowly open up to each other. I loved watching them care for each other and him wanting to protect her. I enjoyed watching her grow and get comfortable with herself again.

3.75 rounded up!

Thank you, TAA and Kathryn, for the e-arc!

Tyler and Lily were such a sweet couple, growing and sharing so much. Their characters had some trauma to work through and they relied on each other and trusted that the other would be there to support them.

This was slow to start, the plot wasn’t, I mean the romance. Not going to lie, I was 133 pages in and felt no chemistry or desire from either of them. Did they mention that they found the other attractive multiple times? Yes. But there were no tension filled moments between them. He was mostly evading being alone with her and she was mostly quiet and writing, they truly felt like simple roommates.
But then it picked up.
I could feel how Tyler was feeling about her, he was gaining hope, his attraction growing and showing more on page. And then how Lily started to flirt a little.
The spice was good, even if a little too male centered. I want my MMCs to be more about her pleasure, more foreplay, dirty talk, but that’s a personal preference.

Lily was too sweet, too understanding and that sadly made her a little of a pushover. Eight years? Really? Glad that she got out, but that’s a long time. And then the whole debacle happens with Ty and she again forgives not only him, but also Morgan in seconds… like baby, your feelings matter and what he said and she did HURT ME more than they hurt you.

I wanted more apologies and groveling. It felt like they took so long to start something and then it fell apart immediately after, only to be fixed in less than 15 pages.

Grammatically speaking, there were some things, like the repetition of phrases in the same paragraph and some sayings being said again and again. Also, they talked about some issues over and over, same points, just different wording. That stuff took me out of the zone a little, but overall nothing major.

Quotes:

I want her to be happy.
I like making her happy.
Which I definitely don't want to think too hard about why.

Lips that are starting to look more inviting the longer she stays with me, and the more I get to know her.

"You want to brand me with the name Quinn?"
"Damn straight,"

I may be on the Tarpons team, but I'm also on hers.
No matter what.

I want her.
I want to taste her. I want to feel her body against mine. Basically, I want to drown in her.

But Tyler, he's not a child. He's a man, and he carries himself that way. A way that makes my toes curl and my breath catch.

"I want you. More than anything I've ever wanted in my life."

ARC Review - Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends by Kathryn Andrews

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends is such a warm, heartfelt read—it’s the kind of slow-burn sports romance that just sticks with you. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Tyler and Lily. I mean, a grumpy NFL tight end + best friend’s little sister + forced proximity? That’s a recipe I’ll never get tired of.

Tyler might come off as intense and closed-off at first, but there’s so much more to him under the surface. Watching him slowly open up was so satisfying. And Lily? She’s strong, relatable, and so easy to root for, especially as she works on rebuilding her life. The chemistry between them unfolds so naturally—it’s full of sweet tension, genuine warmth, and plenty of swoon.

What really stood out to me was how low-drama and feel-good the story felt, while still carrying real emotional depth. Kathryn Andrews’ writing is effortless—it pulls you right in and makes it easy to get lost in the world she’s built.

If you love best friend’s sister, grumpy x sunshine, or athlete romances, this one’s definitely worth picking up!

Big thanks to Kathryn Andrews and The Author Agency for the ARC !

I have been looking forward to Tyler’s story since meeting him in Wildflowers and Wide Receivers and boy, he did not disappoint. Tyler Quinn is beyond private and has a no-roommates rule, until his best friend uses their emergency code word (adorable) and asks for a favor: let his little sister crash at Tyler’s place. Enter Lily who is reeling from ending a long-term relationship with a football player from another team, one who is a total douche unlike our lovable hero. What unfolds is a sweet story between two guarded characters, whose trust in each other allows friendship and love to blossom.

Football romance is my original love, my romance gateway drug, if you will. And so much of this book reminded me why.

The friendship between the Tampa Tarpons players is so damn enjoyable. From the group chat to their gameday antics, I can’t get enough of their bromancey vibes and affection between these guys. I love how much they roast each other—Chicken Daddy—and how no one else is allowed to mess with them.

Tyler and Lily warmed my freaking heart. I love me a good slow burn and these two brought that in spades, but they made it so worth it. Both bring significant baggage to their relationship, but they don’t let that stop them from the possibility of happiness, which they so easily could have. Their mutual crushing that developed into friendship and then something more (and spicy) felt natural and believable.

These two will make you a believer in the notion of the right time, right place, right person.

I also loved references to real places in Tampa and Florida, places I’ve actually been and experienced for myself—looking at you, Armature Works! That was such a fun element for me.

Thank you to Kathryn Andrews and TheAuthorAgency for the ARC. I loved being back in the world of the Tampa Tarpons and I cannot waaaaaait for Ryder’s book that gets teased in Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends.

“When I think of love, I want the soulmate kind of crushing love.
I have so much to give, but I want to receive it in return.
I want a best friend, a confidant, and someone who shares not only their dreams but mine too.”

I loved Wildflowers and Wide Receivers and to be back in the Tampa Tarpon world was like coming home. I feel like there is just a softness to the way that Kathryn Andrew’s writes, like it a warm hug you didn’t know you needed and Lily and Tyler’s story was just that.

Lily may have been coming out of a long time relationship with a man who was most definitely not worthy of her but her strength was amazing at the same time. Tyler may not have been ok with someone in his space but he would do anything for Lance, his best friend and Lily’s brother, so when he gets the call to see if Lily can stay with him, he can’t say no.

I love when a book has mutual crushes on each other for years. Lily’s inner thoughts, every time this girl said teenage Lily would be freaking out, made me laugh so hard. Also, them both remembering all the little moments together over those years made me swoon.

I love the character development of Lily coming out of her shell and becoming the person that she was before who shall not be named. She even grew even more into herself with the help of Tyler, which I loved.

Tyler is hard to trust and he does not give it freely but he knew he could trust Lily and at their foundation, they were friends. I love that there’s a boyishness to Tyler we don’t get to see in a lot of MMC’s and Tyler pulled it off in spades with Lily. This man was such a softie for Lily, he would literally do anything for her, even rent a baby goat.

Their love can, in my mind, can only be described as a soft kind of love, one that, even if they had crushes on each other, grew gradually and sweetly. But when it turned into more, was insatiable.

Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends is my second book by the author and is an interconnected stand alone. I absolutely loved Wildflowers and Wide Receivers and Jonahs story so I knew I had to read Tyler’s and Lily’s book, and take me back to the Tampa Tarpon team.

Lily was the FMC, and was absolutely great. I really could feel for her needing to regroup for a bit and press that reset button after getting out of a long term relationship. She is just trying to reset, and figure out her next steps in life. She was so sweet and good hearted and you couldn’t help but root for her. Watching Tyler pull Lily out of her shell and and watch her become who she was meant to be and him supporting her was amazing to watch develop.

Tyler, our MMC, is a 29 yr old Tight End and is pivoting towards the last few years of his career. He’s had it rough the last few years , and certain circumstances made him more guarded and he didn’t trust easily. As you get beneath his exterior you see the REAL Tyler. Who is someone funny, a golden retriever hero, and someone who will do anything for his friends, even let their sister stay and figure out her life.

Tyler & Lily story was beautiful and was meant to be. They tried to fight it but one kiss was all it took. They just had this connection that they couldn’t stop. Their love was a slow burn but when they finally came together it was well worth the wait. They had this true connection.

I can’t wait to reader Ryders book.

Another great book from Kathryn.

After reading Wildflowers and Wide Receivers I was eager to read ‘Uncle’ Tyler’s story and boy was this a fun and exciting book to read.

Lily struggled with the realization and acceptance that the future she had planned for just wasn’t going to happen in her long-term relationship, so in the beginning of the story we learn about what she’s been through. As she gets more settled a new direction becomes clearer to her and it’s one that has her becoming more comfortable with herself and her success with her career. She grows so much and is a character I who quickly felt like a new bestie.

Tyler is a sexy, but super private professional football player who has an unbelievably traumatic relationship history. My jaw dropped when his backstory story was revealed. Even though he didn’t want a roommate, he stepped up for his best friend.

I loved how Tyler and Lily had a strong and comfortable friendship that spanned many years. They may not have been in close contact, but both of them were able to trust each other despite their reluctance or inability to trust others.

The introduction of Lily to Tyler’s teammates and their significant others was so much fun. The guys reactions were pretty hilarious as they recognized her from being the girlfriend of a famous player on another NFL team.

I’m eager for more stories from the author, and I plan to read her prior books focusing on other Tarpon players.

I received a free ARC from the author and The Author Agency; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

This was my first book by Kathryn Andrews and my first 5 star review of the year.

Lily, recently breaking up with her decade long NFL boyfriend, seeks solace alone to evaluate her life and where she lost herself along the way in her former relationship.

As an author, under a pen name, only a few know, she has created a successful livelihood but under anonymity. Other than her brother Lance and his wife Cassie and best friend Morgan, no one has ever taken her seriously.

Her brother calls in a huge favor “Ambulance” to his former college roommate and teammate, Tyler. He asks him to let his sister crash with him to protect her from the potential fallout from her breakup. Tyler is a tight end in the NFL in Tampa.

Tyler values both his privacy and his space and the thought of sharing his space with anyone gives him the creeps, but for his best friend, he will do anything. Also, he’s known Lily for as long as he has known Lance. Can it really be that bad?

So begins a friendship, revelations of each other’s past, healing by being around each other The way they build each other over time was beautifully written.

I’m a spoiler free reviewer, so I’ll stop there. However, for me to give this a 5 star rating speaks volume.

I binged this book through the night. I’m so thankful to the author and The Author Agency for the opportunity to read this book before official release.

Kathryn Andrews I have loaded by TBR with more of your books.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I want to go back and read more of their work.

Lily is coming out of a long term relationship and trying to find herself and where she belongs in life again. She didn’t have much self esteem or faith in herself and needed a little bit of help. She is an author that works under a pen name and no one, except for her best friend, brother and his wife know who she really is. Her ex boyfriend didn’t even know. She has had a crush on her brothers best friend since the moment they met years ago.

Tyler is a successful NFL player. He is very guarded and loves a private life. He is also very grumpy and not used to having people in his personal spaces he was hurt years ago and doesn’t trust anyone anymore. He has liked Lily for years, but it was his best friends sister so he can’t act on it.

When Lily’s brother asked Tyler for some help with letting her stay there it’s just a little temporary thing. Just long enough for her to see if Florida is where she should be. There are rules sets in place because Tyler wants to keep his life private. The two have always been friends and quickly fall into a routine. Slowly he helps pull her out of her shell and gets her out of the house. The two also start to tell one another their secrets that not many others know.

This is a slow burn, but it’s beautiful and worth the wait. There are high emotions and so much character development. Watching the two start to trust again and in one another was so good. They have incredible chemistry together also.

Tyler & Lily have known each other for a while because he is best friend's with her brother. They've had some interactions but weren't ever close. But now she's in need of a place to stay & Tyler lets her stay with him until she can find a place of her own.

This one was a slow burn but it was absolutely worth the wait. These two really brought the best out of each other. They found trust and companionship with each other that they didn't realize was missing. Tyler was a huge softie when it came to Lily. I loved the little things he did for her to show her he cared. (Hellloooo baby goat!) There were definitely misunderstandings along the way but they just had a really sweet love that they never gave up on. Also, I loved Lily's character growth. That girl deserved to shine!

I loved the found family aspect of this book. The girlfriends that Lily made and then Tyler's football buddies were such great people and support for them. The banter between the football buddies was so funny!

I've really enjoyed both books in this series and definitely cannot wait for Ryder's book!

This series is becoming a favorite of mine. The emotion. The love. The banter. The longing. This is the second book and it entirely captured my heart.

As the Tight Ends for the Tampa Tarpons, Tyler values his privacy. When his best friend calls in a favor asking if his younger sister could temporarily live with him, he knew he couldn’t say no. He’s known Lily for many years but they weren’t exactly close. She moves in and they agree on certain roommate rules. However, as time passes, he finds himself wanting to break all of the rules.

There was something so soft and gentle about Lily and Tyler. Their progression from friends to lovers was slow but still very satisfying. Lily had just left a relationship where she wasn’t valued. Tyler had been burned badly in the past. I loved seeing Lily become more confident, not only as a woman, but as a successful author. I loved Tyler’s gentle spirit. He took notice of the little things about Lily and ran with them.

Also, I just love every single one of Tyler’s teammates. Their text messages are unhinged and had me laughing out loud. Everything about this book was like a giant warm hug and I did not want it to end!

Lily is 26 and has spent the last eight years of her life as girlfriend to a superstar NFL QB. Finally realizing that he only cared for himself and how much they had grown apart she leaves him. When her brother finds out she left Dean and is going to need a place to stay he tells her he has a temporary place in mind and it's free, what could be better?

Tyler Quinn is 29 and a tight end for the Tampa Tarpons professional football team. He very much loves his privacy, in fact demands it so when his best friend Lance asks if his sister could stay with him he's not thrilled about it but lets her as long as she follows the rules, lol.

The longer she's there the closer they get. She admits she has had a crush on him forever. And for Lily she starts to come out of her shell and finally someone other than her brother and best friend sees her for her and Tyler knows that she is an author and is proud of her. This is something that Dean had no clue.

Things are great until they aren't. Will this change and tear them apart?

4.5 stars
Loved the story. It's emotional with both having baggage and things they needed to work through.

Devoured this book and I’m still swooning. Tyler is the Tight End for the Tampa Tarpons and one of the older players in the team. He’s very private and has only a select few friends he trusts, mostly his teammates with the exception of his college roommate. Lily has known Tyler for almost a decade since her brother is his best friend and old college roommate, and he’s called in a favour with Tyler to let Lily stay with him while she’s reassessing her life following a relationship breakdown. This is a slow burn where neither act on their mutual attraction, Lily has crushed on Tyler for many years!!
Loved how this book took the time to work through their emotional trauma but how patient and support they are of each other and how their friends support them. The banter between the teammates is hilarious, I’d read a whole book just on them alone! Kathryn is a new author to me and I’m now going back to read her previous works.

I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own

I can’t give half stars on here, but this book was 4.5 stars easy. I saw that because Tyler and Lily were both broken.

Lily, girl, let your light shine. I totally got it as you were with a narcissist for eight years and drew within to keep the peace. Let you tell you, baby, you are enough. Actually, you were more than enough because although you supported you, shined in your own lane. Your words spoke life into others. Tyler tried but failed. He renigged on his support. He was not healed when he was trying to heal you.

This book was all the emotions and growth. Kathryn, don't miss, but I would say for the first time I loved and hated her hero. I expected more conversation from Tyler and Lily at the end, but from the events, I know it happened. His conversation with Lance was perfect, though. It gave true friendship vibes, and he kept it 100.

This book is great and packs a self-care punch.

This is the second book in this beautiful series and I was waiting for Tyler so patiently and look how I was rewarded.

From the moment I met Tyler, I was hooked. I loved him so freaking much! His charming, goofy personality around his friends made every scene feel so natural and real. And when he met Lily? That’s when he truly shined. Supportive, thoughtful, and just the right amount of awkward. Tyler is absolute boyfriend material in the best way possible. And let’s not forget the baby goat... I won’t spoil it, but that scene cracked me up beyond words!

Now, on to sweet Lily. Loved character she was incredible. She starts off strong in her quiet resilience, but as the story unfolds, you see her grow into someone bold, courageous, and deeply inspiring. Her strength wasn’t loud, it was earned, and watching her evolution was one of the highlights of the book for me.

And oh my god, the group chat scenes? HILARIOUS. They felt like a group of real friends I wanted to be a part of. The inside jokes, the chaos, the random tangents.

I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series I’m so excited.

Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends by Kathryn Andrews is OUT TODAY!!
It is book 2 in her Tampa Tarpons series!
It is the love story of Tyler and Lily.
Tyler is Lily’s brother’s best friend. She has known Tyler for a long time and she most certainly had a teenage crush on him. Now they’re both grown up and Lily needs a place to hide out after a break up.
Tyler is a professional football player and Lily is a secret romance book author. Tyler has a big thing about his privacy so at first he is hesitant to have a roommate but he would do anything for his best friend so he welcomes her into his home. What starts as friendship slowly becomes more.
Tyler is a total golden retriever and I loved watching him fall. Lily is an FMC I would love to be best friends with.
I have wanted this book since I finished book 1 in this series, Wildflowers and Wide Receivers, and I absolutely devoured it.
You do not have to read book 1 to read Tiger Lilies & Tight Ends but I definitely recommend reading them both. They both fantastic books and I cannot freaking wait for book 3!

Tiger Lilies and Tight Ends is another great book in Kathryn Andrews' Tampa Tarpons series. It's an interconnected standalone, and takes place at the same time as book 1, Wildflowers and Wide Receivers.

After breaking up with her longtime boyfriend, Lily needs a fresh start. Her brother sets her up to live with his best friend, Tyler, whom Lily had a crush on back when they were in college. Tyler doesn't like having people in his personal space, after being burned by an ex who betrayed his trust, so the new roommate situation definitely puts him out of his comfort zone.

I really enjoyed seeing these two reconnect and become more than just roommates. While he helped her regain her confidence, she helped him learn how to open up to people again. This story was such a heartfelt romance, with the group chat amongst the players being the perfect dose of comic relief!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This book is the second in this series and the previous one was a beatiful reading, and I was willing to come back to that universe.

This book is the second in this series and the previous one was a beatiful reading, and I was willing to come back to that universe.
Tyler is a football player that fit perfectly in the grumpy heart of gold guy. After a few rough years, he's guarded, but then came Lily, sunshine definition personified, sweet and caring, she is what he needs to open up.
If you didn't read (yet) the previous book, I don't know what you're waiting for, but, after that, come back to Tyler and Lily.

Tropes you can find in this book:
- Brother's best friend
- Slow burn
- Football romance
- Found family
- Dual 1st person POV
- Forced proximity

This book is an open- door book, is a slow burn story but when you get, it's so worthy!!!!

My ratings: 4/5 ⭐; 2/5🌶️

I’ve received this book as an ARC and I’d like to thank Kathryn Andrews and her team at The Author Agency (thank you Shauna) for letting me read this book in advance and allow me to give my honest opinion.

The perfect beach read…

Tyler Quinn is a professional tight end with commitment issues and a preference for solitude. He’s methodical, private, and borderline hermit. Enter Lily Kent. She’s his best friend’s sister, fresh out of a toxic relationship and needing a place to lay low. I know what you’re thinking, and yes, we’ve seen this trope before, but Andrews does something genuinely interesting with it. No melodrama. No insta-love. Just two people unpicking their messes while unexpectedly bumping into each other’s soft spots. It’s slow-burn in the right way... measured and tense. The characters are grown-up, complicated, nuanced, and refreshingly self-aware. Their romance feels like a choice rather than a convenience, which is extremely refreshing. Andrews’ voice, true to her signature style, is engaging, her prose is clean, and the pacing is sharp. Lily and Tyler’s story has heat, but it doesn’t do all the heavy lifting. There’s real depth in their story. It’s contemporary sports romance done right and an easy 5-star read you won’t regret starting. I loved it!

Another great book by Kathryn Andrews. Another prime book boyfriend in Tyler. He definitely gives off golden retriever vibes. My heart went out to Lily, but I give her major props for being brave enough to start fresh. She may not know exactly the path, but being roommates with her brother's best friend is an unexpected one. Tyler breaks a lot of his own rules when it comes to Lily. It made my heart happy to see how well Lily fits right in Tyler's life and team family. Lily sees another side to a football team with the Tarpons. They are like a family. Their text chats are hilarious. This is a book that will have you hooked right from the beginning. Lily and Tyler's journey was such a delight to read. Loved that little Vivi pops in several times in her Uncle Tyler's book. Another thing I really loved about this book is Lily is a romance writer and boy does Tyler make me swoon with how supportive he is of her writing. This definitely a book you do not want to miss!

Brothers best friend (brother approved)
Football player
Room mates
Teenage crush
Slow burn
Dual pov
Fmc secret author

I loved this book I will definitely be going back and reading the others in this series.

Lily needing to find her path again after ending an 8year relationship and needing a place to stay her older brother offers his best friend Tyler’s place.
Tyler disliking anyone in his space set rules for her stay. Lily was a shell of her former self and with the help of Tyler he pulled her out of her funk. Tyler is super cautious about letting anyone in his private space/home.
They tried to fight the connection but once they gave in they were end game until Tyler’s doubts came back full force.
Watching him figure it out not just apologising and glossing over it but working on it was beautiful.

I loved this book

I love anything the author writes! This is my second Kathryn Andrew’s book and I devoured it. I could t wait to get my hands on it when she announced the release. I’m a huge sucker for covers and this one as well as the cover of Wildflowers and Wide Receivers are both perfect!

The novels do not have to be read in order in my opinion but the characters are introduced in both. A team of hot pro football players - an FMC that is battling with self esteem and doubt - a brothers best friend - yasssss….sign me up!!

If you love happy endings, light spice with swoony moments - this novel is for you!

I thought it was well paced and wanted more of them together!! I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to read more of her work!

This book has it all!

🧡 Brother's best friend ✔️
🧡 Sports romance ✔️
🧡 Slow burn (so, so good!) ✔️
🧡 Found family (and new friendships!) ✔️

I absolutely LOVED Tyler and Lily. Tyler is such a good guy. Total golden retriever vibes in the best way. Lily is an indie author who just left a toxic longterm relationship. She's looking for a fresh start and thanks to her brother, she finds herself as Tyler's new roommate.

This was a fantastic story with incredible characters. All of the characters are great. The text threads between the players are amusing and so fun.

I highly, highly recommend this one. Once I started it, I didn't want to put it down. Looking forward to seeing what story we get next. 🧡

*Thank you to The Author Agency for the opportunity to receive an ARC. These are my own opinions and thoughts on the book.*

Oh my , Tyler and Lily's story was everything and so much more. Lily was such a strong character. She's smart and sassy, driven and strong willed and she's trying to figure out her life and her career . And with the help of her brother she ends up staying with his best friend and her long time crush Tyler. Tyler is living quite a sheltered and restricted life after a bad situation in his past . And they were so good and respectable roommates . And that tension and angst and the slow burn were building up to their highest point and those two were pure fire together. In fact they both have crushed on each other for so long . Lily's ex tried to mess up a little their relationship but that didn't ended how he expected. Both Tyler and Lily have some issues from their pasts that they are working on but some suspicions can sneak and mess with them . And when that happens they have to change some more so they can get to a better place in their lives. Tyler could redeem himself after his poor judgement and behavior and that grand gestures were so sweet and swoony. And that epilogue was so good. Now I can't wait for the next book in the Tampa Tarpons series.

Thanks to the author and The Author Agency for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.

“I should’ve known that kissing her would change everything”

Tyler kisses me like he’s a starved man 🥵

I was looking forward to this and so excited I couldn’t put the book down! Tyler and Lily needed each other more than they think and get each other and work through things. Lily is strong talented woman who is a kind soul. And Tyler who is guarded but loyal cut him self off emotionally until Lily. The tension and angst had me on the edge of my seat. And loved the football in it making it a sports romance which I absolutely lovveee. Love the team and found family. Their love story was so sweet and spicy it absolutely stole my heart.

ARC Review

This is my second book I have read by Kathryn Andrews and I really enjoy reading her books.

Tyler & Lily story was beautiful written, they known each other for awhile as Tyler is Lily’s brothers friend and when she gets out of a relationship she was looking for a place to go so her brother asked if she could come stay with Tyler for a little bit.

Lily is a romance writer and Tyler is a football player at first they didn’t really care for each other but one kiss is all it took for them to see where things went as neither one of them was really looking for a relationship especially Tyler. But they decided to see where things went between them.

Writing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh, what a sweet, contemporary romance that has all the good stuff: brother’s best friend, football, roommates and spice! Lily, a secret author escaping writer’s block and a bad ex, escapes to temporarily live with her brother’s best friend, Tyler, a tight end for the Tampa Tarpons. Neither like the spotlight, but the way they both find love in each other...they bring out the best in each and support each other. The Florida flora and fauna and wildlife adds authenticity to the setting, and the plot is not short lighthearted goodness with a few hiccups thrown in. I have enjoyed the two books so far in this series and look forward to getting to know the rest of the team. 4.25 stars
