I thought I knew what it felt like to reach rock bottom. Turns out, the universe had other plans for me.
The Violet city was built for hopes and dreams. But from where I come from, it's nothing but a nightmare. Most never make it out of the city's Ruby district. It's a horrid place. A concrete wasteland built to turn alphas into beasts, and omegas into prey. When I presented as an omega, it was the last thing I would've wanted. But then I met her. My salvation. My hopes and my dreams. My alpha. And then she was ripped away from me. Leaving me to pick up the pieces of my shattered soul. For omegas like me, there is no such thing as second chances. So, when a pack of mysterious alphas sweep in, perfectly scent matched to me, I find myself wondering if the universe is just trying to drag me down deeper into a hell I never deserved. These alphas are everything an omega like me has ever dreamed of, but everyone has their secrets. Power is the only thing that matters in the Violet city. How far am I willing to go to keep the alphas that had no trouble lying to their forever mate in the name of power?
**This is a MFMMM Omegaverse Standalone with dark themes. Trigger warnings will be listed at the beginning of the book in the Authors note** **This version has recently been edited. For any other major issues, please email the author directly**
This was just ok. It had a lot of potential but it fell kinda flat. There were a lot of spelling mistakes and a few plot holes.

He didn’t even know she existed before this, stopped straight away and sent the beta away. He felt like shit about it and Gray was a bit miffed when she woke but she later said that their pasts were their pasts and she herself was even mourning her dead alpha when they met so she couldn’t really be pissed that they all had pasts. From the moment they scent her they’re all in 100% obsessed and devoted to her. -HEA -Epilogue 9 months later, they have twins

A little too dark for me (but that’s my bad). Crescent City meets Haunting Adeline vibes. This book needed at least 200 more pages to fully explore all the dynamics and relationships to their potential—it sort of had a half-baked impact.
I don’t even know where to start. Vaughn is just dead weight as a character, he finds gray, then his name is thrown in as an afterthought throughout the book. There is a big deal about Storm, and it is another 1purpose then dead weight, should have let the dog die, then Storm would have had more meaning then given. For ‘ faded perfect scent matched’ pack, She has her favorites. Tenzin it her obvious top, followed by Rune. Zion is the pack lead but doesn’t play a huge role, the Vaughn is just to add to word count. The pack brothers themselves do not like each other and complain and compete with each other to be her favorite. On the steam dark factor- this is vanilla as it comes, and only 3-4 couplings including her heat, which is boring. The author does not know what MFMMM is, there is 1 threesome and a train, implied, in her heat. No orgy of 5 and the alphas take turns to leave for work during the heat; leaving her with just 1 alpha. The mafia storyline is not there any more than Vaughn is, just a throwaway line of “we are mafia, but can’t tell you.” The whole book is side stories, not fully fleshed out, with a lack of omegaverse basics, rather than a cohesive book.
Out of all the romance subgenres I read, Omegaverse is the one I pick up the least—not because I don’t enjoy it (I actually love it!) but because so many of them feel repetitive. That being said, *Tears of Gray* completely shattered my expectations with its fresh, unique take on mates and the raw, emotional depth of its characters. From the very first page, I was hooked. How often do we see an omega who has already found their alpha, and built a loving, healthy relationship—only to lose them? This story boldly delves into the trauma of grief and the possibility of second chances in love, making it an unforgettable read.
January did something I hadn’t yet read. As we know from the description, Gray loses her first alpha, Heather, in the beginning. Personally, I’m not a fan of FF so I usually pass on books with that but in this instance, it’s a beautiful example of love and devotion and Gray working through her grief. Then when she meets the guys, it’s their appreciation for her former alpha taking care of her (rather than jealousy).
And don’t worry…there’s still the omegaverse spice!
The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is due to the grammatical errors. Mostly due to missing words or incorrect words used. I understand that there are usually issues with most books, but this one had more than normal. Other than that, it was a good book, great story line, I highly recommend it.
If you love the Omegaverse this is the book you need to read. This is the 1st book of January Blue I’ve ever read and all I can say is I loved it! If I could I would give it 10 stars I would! I can’t wait to read more by this author. I hope to see Sutton’s story and Jessie’s.
While the climax scene was predictable, this was a sweet story of an omega who processed her grief in order to accept a new life and the 4 new scent matches that she came across. All of the characters had their own struggles and personalities, I do wish we had gotten some more time with Vaughn though.
The storyline was great. I loved the whole pack. I did feel like Vaughn was a bit forgotten at times, and the fact that there are so many glaring errors are what dropped a star for me. Still would recommend to anyone who loves OV and doesn't care if the book is "perfect"
I was loving the story, but it just didn't come together. Things don't make sense and I couldn't concentrate on the book. I am going to try and read it again in the future, but I just can't focus on it now.
I liked the plot, but the writing could've used more editing before publishing. There were a few plot holes, and grammar errors. Overall, I give it a 2/5
I love dark romance. I love omegaverse romance. So, put a dark omegaverse romance in front of me and I will be insanely excited. Tears of Gray had the makings for a 5-star read, but I can't justify it for several reasons.
Overall, the grammar and spelling was unpolished. The wrong words and phrases used (pension instead of penchant) and incorrect plural or possessive grammar ('s instead of just s, and vice versa) in great abundance. The perfectionistic, OCD part of me wants to redline this book so badly! On top of that, I feel like some of the most traumatic things the FMC goes through in this book just get glossed over. She has one breakdown early on over her grief and then just seems to get over it aside from a few comments throughout the rest of the book. Anybody would've been suffering PTSD given all the things she goes through after she's with her pack and there's not a single moment of struggle as a result, which was just a missed aspect that would've allowed for so much more emotional impact.
Outside of those things, the storyline was great! I loved the tension and the angst and the spice was pretty good, too! A very specific trope happens that I'm not a huge fan of, but I can certainly overlook that for all the other things I love about dark omegaverse romances. If you can overlook significant grammatical errors and typos as well as limited emotional trauma/impact that was lacking, you will certainly enjoy Tears of Gray!
⚠️ check trigger warnings ⚠️ Tears of Gray is a beautifully written, heart-wrenching story that stays with you long after the last page. It’s raw, emotional, and deeply human. I felt every ache, every tear, and every quiet moment. If you’re looking for a book that makes you feel something real, this is it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HEA? yes 3rd act break-up? no 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
