Sniper Alley—where every decision is life or death, and the price of survival keeps getting steeper.
Ex-MI5 agent Tom Marlowe thought he had finally left the dangerous world of covert operations behind, but his past refuses to stay buried. His old nemesis, St John Steele, former Orchid operative turned ruthless mercenary, has placed a kill order on Marlowe’s head—and now, assassins from every corner of the globe are closing in, determined to collect on Steele’s personal vendetta.
Fleeing to America under the guise of repaying a favour for crime boss Frank Maguire, Marlowe finds himself entangled in a shadowy world of betrayal and deadly intrigue. Uncovering a conspiracy that threatens not just his life, but the future of a nation, with assassins in pursuit and time running out, Marlowe must navigate a deadly path, uncover hidden agendas, and confront Steele in a final showdown amidst the Black Hills mountains of South Dakota, that could leave him broken.
From the streets of London to the heights of Mount Rushmore, the lines between friend and foe blur in this high-octane thriller, where the fate of nations—and the balance of global power--hangs in the balance.

Sniper Alley by Jack Gatland is book 8 in the Tom Marlowe series. Tom Marlowe is undercover in the financial district in London as a favour payback for Katherine Saito, who he knows from his MI5 days. His offsider, Trix Preston, is monitoring the situation remotely. His mission turns into chaos, and he ends up in a tricky situation. Marlowe has several personas and one of them is causing him trouble with both the law and others. He is running out of options when help comes from an unexpected source. Orchid, the secret society, is up to its old tricks and an old foe is pitted against Marlowe. Marlowe and Trix work well together in this thrilling read and, for me, it is pure escapism and a great adventure story, although the mission turns into a nightmare. It is cleverly written and so well put together. The characters are interesting, and I would like to sit down with them for a chat. It is easy to get swept up in the tale as the action moves from London to Las Vegas, and there is plenty of action.
A good spy thriller, with tons of action, espionage, and double-and-triple-crosses. The latest in the Tom Marlowe series. Tom is still out of MI5/6 and avoiding the CIA while he and Trix investigate the new Orchid and St. John Steele. They travel to America again and once again deal with Gabriel Rizzo. Full of action and very fun.
The plot twists and turns in this Tom Marlowe installment were excellent, kept me guessing to the end. As a resident of the Black Hills it was good fun to visualize the Mt. Rushmore topography as it played into the story.
The crazies from Las Vegas are still operating as Thomas heads back to the states. Even Gabriel Rizzo still has a casino, just under a new name. Is it time for revenge or a new world order?
