Historicalish - A 16-year-old gets married to a 25-year-old soldier whom she doesn't meet due to him still being on the battlefield. 8 years have passed, and now she wants to divorce him.

He gets the letter and declares war ons his wife (both of them have never met each other.) He returns home and makes a new proposal.

This manga contains suggestive sex scenes and nudity.

The artwork is flat. The MC looks permanently high or irritated, and his eyes are always narrow.

The FC just gets under my skin, so I cannot root for her.

The 'new proposal' trope doesn't work for me, but it is an enemies-to-lovers situation. I cannot recommend this one, nor am I going to continue it.

We Stan a strong fmc like Byletta🙂‍↕️👏 But marriage of convenience AND a wager?? I’m locked in crazy and if it were me, I would’ve folded for that man like a pretzel crazy when he came back from AN EIGHT YEAR WAR😭😂

Me gustó, desde el inicio es muy atrapante, me encanta que las protagonistas sepan defenderse y usar la espada ME ENCANTA!
Byletta es obligada a casarse en un matrimonio arreglado, pero cuando se casa, se entera que su esposo se fue a la guerra y pasa 8 años sin verlo, hasta que regresa y ahí empieza todo🙊
Me gusta mucho Byletta, me da risa y el primer encuentro con su esposo Arnald fue muy 🔥, ella se quiere divorciar pero él no, así que apostaron que si en un mes ella no esta embarazada, firmaran el divorcio y ella es libre, pero si ella esta embarazada, se quedan juntos por siempre.
Me gustan sus interacciones, así que ya quiero leer el siguiente para saber que pasa!!

Oh this was as fun and sexy (or well the first night not so much, but after that I quite liked it). About a woman married to a guy who apparently in all the 8 years at war never cared to once see her or send a letter. I could understand her frustrations, though I did love how she set out for a plan and in 8 years made a good name for herself and become close with her family in law. She wants to get divorced but the guy has different plans. Curious to see how this one will be continuing!

The vibe is off with this one and it made me feel a little uncomfortable. A man seeking sexual "revenge" and humiliation of the wife he never met simply because of rumors that were taken out of context.

I might give it another volume because I'd like to seem him eat his words but we'll see.

If you ever needed proof, men try to trap women with babies just as much. The male lead, obviously with his feelings hurt, wants to punish the female lead for being rumored to be promiscuous. It’s treated like she’s so beautiful that she has seduced her own uncle; like, that’s constantly thrown around like it’s a compliment.

Then, male lead contemplates what if she’s not a “loose” woman. Then, he might have to learn to respect her as a person.

The sexual content is dry and unseasoned. “Good girl” is an automatic no. A love scene where the man is fully clothed with his pants on (???) while the lady is bust open like a can of biscuits is also a no, too. The dynamic here is very power-imbalanced, and it feels like dubious content. Like, you're married, so 'you must put out' type of thing. But in an old-timey kingdom, it's to be expected.

Sensuality isn’t a thing here.

Just the lead wanting to punish the girl with a baby turned me off. I thought the dynamic would be more fun, like they couldn’t resist each other and needed the wager as an excuse. And these strong women leada always lose all backbone when they’ve been dicked down properly. -_-

Y’know, this can be some reader’s guilty pleasure, but it’s not for me. This was quite explicit for the "older teen" rating.

Thanks to Edelweiss and Yen for a DRC of this manga! I was initially turned off by Arnald's attitude and how forceful he was with Byletta. He does change a bit when he realized that he was acting on some quite large misconceptions, but I'm hoping he does some serious groveling in the future.

Byletta has such a fun attitude towards reaching for what she wants from her life and not taking nonsense from the people around her. I also admire her focus and tenacity in ensuring that the people are cared for, even if she plans on leaving to continue enjoying her life without being tied down by men. Looking forward to seeing where this one will go!

We love a FMC that is cunning, can hold her own, and has her own personality and desires. Our FMC is arranged to be married but luckily her husband gets set off to war for 8 years. Can you imagine being married and having no contact for 8 years? Beyond strangers. Upon notice of his return, she hits him with a request for a divorce. I cackled seeing his expression when he opened the letter. Her letter felt like a “damn, you’re alive. Let’s nip this in the bud.”

Upon the MMCs return, he swindles her into a deal that if she gets pregnant within a month, he wins, If not, he’ll divorce her. Uh, who wagers on a child?! I’m happy to see our MMC changing after realizing he judged her too harshly and believed rumors but oof. He better become her biggest supporter to make up for it.

I’m really excited to see where this series goes. Seeing her put the father in is place multiple times is -chefs kiss-

This is a bit of a different twist on the usual not wanting an arranged marriage trope. Byletta is the daughter of a viscount, is well trained in swordsmanship, and is a rather sharp businesswoman. When her father sets her up to be married, her husband, Arnald, has gone off to war. Sensing greater freedom and seeing things in her husband's family home that she is determined to fix, she chooses to stay at least until he returns while growing her own business. When the war ends 8 years later, her one and only letter to her husband is requesting a divorce. Arnald doesn't seem attached to Byletta herself, but he's clearly not amused by her rejection and seems to believe rumors when it comes to her personality and actions. After setting his own terms for their divorce, he discovers maybe his assumptions based on his supposed research aren't all correct. He has a month to figure out the truth before their wager comes to an end.

Aside from the rushed start that feels like a staple in so many manga to throw everything they can think of into the first chapter, the story sorted itself out and focused pretty well after that. I like the characters and the world being set up. Really like how sharp and independent Byletta is and how she's not here to suffer fools. Nice character designs, and lots of great scenes with high sensuality/tension, but nothing explicit.

Only thing really pressing my suspension of disbelief is how Byletta hasn't given any indication of how she'll win her wager just by using birth control. For someone so savvy, she's got to know about it...

surprisingly good - I love a strong fmc, and byletta is not only a gifted swordswoman, she also whips her father-in-law into shape. I don't understand where the slutty rumors are coming from (they seem rather random) and some of the thoughts during the smutty scenes made my eyes roll with how antiquated they were, but overall this caught and held my interest. some of the art was really great, other panels were awkward. all in all, a solid start to the series! even with my small gripes, this was pretty entertaining.

Surprisingly intertaining

I actually really liked this manga. I was looking for a cleanser read and i think i found a new favorite manga. This was interesting and it has so much funny tension. There definitely is the miscommunication trope WHICH i surprisingly like in this case. I also love how the FMC is sooo strong willed. I want more of these characters and i want it now hehe

Ohhhhhh this is what I get for not reading the description beforehand. I must have got this series confused with something else because I was not expecting a mature rating. I am sad however, because I did like the general plot and the female lead, but the lead guy was red flags for days. I'm sure he will get better, but I honestly don't want to read through any more of that with him. 🙅‍♀️

Dropped the series, contains marital rape as a cutesy trope.

While I'm sure its probably something that historically did happen for the time period... Doesn't mean I wanna waste my time reading a story that ends with the whole scene being hand waved away for romance.

Not what I was expecting. Love the female lead. Headstrong and witty - happens to be an incredible with the sword. Art is stunning but their relationship wasn't what I was expecting. The deal they agree on doesn't quite sit well with me but we'll see what becomes of it.
