Delmar

Rate this book
Delmar Lebedev always thought himself secure in his masculinity. He's never had a problem interacting with naked male submissives in his role as a Master of Angelus, and he was the very last man anyone could ever accuse of homophobia.

Then one night, after an upsetting experience, he's comforted by a man, their kiss turning into more, and he reacts badly, hurting the man who'd finally scraped together the nerve to come out.

But no matter what, he can't forget about the experience that changed how he sees himself—or the man who awes him with his courage and inner strength.

When a frightening experience with poachers threatens their fledgling relationship, Delmar realizes there is more at stake than old-fashioned masculinity.

He doesn’t risk just his home, his life or his livelihood—he could lose everything.

Marilize is an author of historical romance set in Cape Town, South Africa, but writes short stories inbetween for fun.

She used to comb the libraries and second-hand book sales for out-of-print copies of Afrikaans historical romance novels by authors such as Wille Martin and Ena Murray. She has always had a fascination for Cape Town history and Regency Romance, and thought to introduce the rest of the world to Regency-era Cape Town.

She's tried her hand at many different occupations, including working at a riding school as riding instructor, trail guide, stable manager, saddler, and horse handler on TV shows. She's worked as freelance typist, photographic assistant, maintenance contractor's assistant, Public Relations Consultant, and Administrative Assistant. These days she is a proud member of ROSA (Romance Writers' Organization of South Africa).

She lives with her husband and son in Muizenberg, Cape Town, and is currently hard at work on her next novel.

I’m a huge lover of the Club Angelus series and each story has a unique tale to tell. I was intrigued by Delmar and hoped he would get his own story, and what a story it is! He’s a Master at the Club, always helping and scening with the submissives being he wasn’t in a relationship. Until one night he meets Morne. Delmar has never had an inkling to be with a male submissive, but there is something about Morne that he is drawn too, but is unsure if he should pursue him. Morne is such a kind, caring person who has a body full of tattoos, which of course made me swoon! But Morne has a past that made my heart hurt and I just wanted to jump into the pages and hug him. He just wants someone to love and he believes Delmar is the one. I hoped that Delmar would rethink his feelings, and I knew Morne would be perfect for him. I enjoyed their witty banter and could feel the lust and love in my very soul. These two are perfection balancing each other out. Their chemistry is so sizzling hot that I swear I saw smoke coming off my Kindle. I don’t want to give too much away except to say you need Delmar and Morne in your life! Actually, please read the entire series, you will not be disappointed!!!

Delmar. Club Angelus Book 8

Well, Delmar is straight, or so he insists. I mean he always has been only interested in women.

And then there is Morné newly out. After a scene with another goes wrong. Morné and Delmar grab a beer at a local bar and talk. There is a hookup in a dark hallway that thoroughly upsets Delmar. Even though Delmar keeps his distance from Morné after that encounter, he can't stop thinking about him.

Evenutally, they start a relationship, complicated not only by how Delmar sees himself, but life things. Poachers threaten Delmar's livelihood and his relationship with Morné.

A well written story about the complications of coming out, how your past can wreak havoc with your present, and working through it together.

A wonderful addition to the series, and if you haven't read the other seven books, I urge you to do so.
