Hazalag: Everybody Loves Large Chests

Rate this book
The Dragon Festival looms over the horizon, promising great riches and power to any who dare challenge the domain of Terrania's mightiest creatures. From influential individuals to nation-spanning organizations, few can resist the allure of the event's extreme risk and fitting rewards. However, adventurers and nations alike must also contend with the nebulous threat of a world-spanning Shift. The impending turmoil and uncertainty are sure to spill into the Dragon Festival, elevating the affair to profoundly lethal heights. Such rumors, whether genuine or a ploy to scare away competition, are unlikely to reduce the number of attendants. For many, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach that coveted Level 100 and the life-extending benefits of the Rank Up that accompanies it. For a few, it is also a chance to reach even further beyond.

For Boxxy T. Morningwood, the Dragon Festival is little more than a giant paycheck. Levels? Rank Ups? Those really aren't as hard to come by as people say they are. All they need to do is ignore silly things like laws and morals and commit an industrial amount of murder. Getting a fresh batch of shinies - now THAT's the real challenge. Collecting strange jewels and unique treasures is a far more difficult task than increasing the numbers on a Status, at least in the former mimic's opinion. That's why the Dragon Festival is so important. A whole bunch of very important people are sure to bring their best stuff to the event, and with loot like that on the line, how could Boxxy possibly resist attending? Of course, the creature knows full well its greed is sure to drag it into all kinds of unforeseen trouble, but at this point, it doesn't even care anymore.

A monster will stay true to its nature until its very last breath.

A terrible break up

They were such a cute couple, how could it end this way? Well, that's what happens when you are in service to the god of chaos. But who gets custody of Minic.
Anyway, Dragon Festival time, and Boxxy wants it all. Spoiler alert: He gets a bunch, including a bit of a pickle at the end.
A definite upswing from the previous book and hopefully a new story arch has been established. Tom out

This book is almost a nothing burger, with the last 60 pages containing the only actual interesting plot. Without it this book is 2/5 stars.

I think I didn’t enjoy the eldritch horror direction of boxxy. The plot of Kiera as Boxxy’s secret identity was always my favorite part of the series, but oh well.

The final fight was quite good and the ONLY good bit of the book.

I read this book probably 3 weeks ago, but it’s still as boring as I remember it. By far the worst book in the ELLC series.

I am never a fan of depowering or removing abilities. Boxxy again loses some abilities. Admittedly, he has a metric crapton of them, but I do not like the trope of the depowered MC.

It feels like Neven Iliev wrote himself into a corner with the Keira persona and he was tired of dealing with it. So surprise, Boxxy gets multiple identity discorder. The solution, use up his IOU to fix it. The God of Chaos' solution, split Keira into its own entity and give it the job Hero of Chaos. This removes the Doppleganger's acting proficiency, hero skills (including Eyes of the Dead God).

The is my second least favorite volume behind volume 3.

Great Fantasy Setting, with some… questionable flavor.

One of the best developed fantasy or LitRPG settings I’ve had the pleasure of immersing myself in.
However: while this might be the “tamest” in the series in terms of sexual deviancy, it’s still full of jokes, lines, and scenarios that I have to tune out. If you can handle or ignore or enjoy that, you’ll have a lot of fun here

Pretty good

I really loved this story, it added so much more lore to the world but the only problem I had was with snack still being alive, I think the author forgot or didn't mention about her coming back.

As the twelfth episode in this series, it's showing its age. When chaos gets predictable, things get boring. Additionally, the LitRPG aspect now seems tacked on, which makes it even more lamer. Iliev needs to end the series.
