These novels are set in a period from 1742 onward, with a civil war that changed Scotland forever. The Jacobites wanted a Stuart back on the throne and their one last hope, a young charismatic man Charles Edward Stuart. The story is told from the Jacobite point of view, with an insight to those who were neutral or Hanoverian supporters, as the Chisholm Clan stood on both sides of the battlefield during the conflict. They are tales of a family trying to adapt to the changes that lay ahead, and keep the Highlander way of life, and the struggles of a 20th century lassie choosing the 18th century in turmoil to follow her destiny.
