Honkytonk Angels, Book Two

After hearing talented songbird Jezebel Jones playing for tips on a Nashville street corner, record producer Mallory Hayes approaches her to join her rockabilly band, the Honkytonk Angels. Jezebel’s first love is her music, and Mallory’s offer is tempting.

But it comes with a caveat. To be considered, Jezebel must undergo training with a dominatrix. After just one taste of submission with domme Billie Martin, Jezebel’s left yearning for more. In the dungeon, she’s bound, spanked and, beyond anything, pleasured. But for them to share a future, Jezebel must be willing to risk everything for the girl born on the wrong side of the tracks.

Training a sweet, sexy sub seems like just the distraction Billie needs, but a dark secret from her past has returned to haunt her and even love might not be enough to save her.

The Paisley Smith Binge continues :-)

After securing the lovely Polly Purefoy with help of domme Vivien Blackheart, record producer Mallory Hayes is looking for the next musician to join her rockabilly band the Honkytonk Angels. Jezebel Jones is playing for tips on a Nashville street corner and is interested to see what Mallory has to offer. Little does she know that a bdsm training is involved in the process.

Jezebel - real name Eleanor Ashcroft – is the single heir of the Ashcroft fortune. Her father Fletcher Ashcroft is controlling her life up to the point where her music is the only thing that is truly hers. Motherless at five, Jezebel grew up surrounded by numerous nannies and then shipped off to boardingschool. Craving for love and affection she gets introduced to domme Billie Martin and soon knows that submission was her missing link to feel whole. The chocolat skinned amazon opens a can of whoop-ass and Jezebel lurves it! It's the start of something beautiful.

Billie harbours a dark secret from her past, a secret that does not mesh with what daddy Ashcroft has in mind for his daughter. Can the lonely little ritch girl and a woman born on the wrong side of the tracks ever have a future together?

It all gets too real after a night where Billie – after suffering from a panic attack – opens up to Jezebel. They end up making love all night. Jezebel knows she is falling for Billie and gets a case of cold feet. She fears dad’s monetary retribution (shallow much?) and decides on the spot to quit the band and end the training, hoping she can forget about everything and go back to being the dutiful daughter. But can she really go back?

Again, the emphasis is not on the music. Unless you count the rhythmic slapping of the paddle or the cracking of the whip(s). The author provides another round of romance combined with some spankin' hot sexytimes.

f/f explicit

Themes: we see the insides of a real bdsm club this time, sweet vintage beauty Jezebel likes to have her bottom spanked, more anal training… those poor sphincters, ah… there is that three-way strap-on again, I guess all the dommes shop at the same place, some angst is provided by the looming spector that is Billie’s delinquent steph daddy, we really need more lube.

Like the first one in this series, after a 7-year gap it reads like new. Some lovely BDSM action, but not as good as the first one. Maybe it was Billie, who caved too soon? I just like my dommes severe, I guess ;-)

There was supposed to be a third book, there is even a bonus chapter in the back of the book, but it never published. Wonder what happened to Paisley Smith.

I’ve been procrastinating on this review for a while because, as much as I enjoyed the first book in this series, Fall to Pieces, the second one didn’t engage me as much. I won’t complain about the lack of plot, who reads these books for plots anyway? The BDSM training is hot, there’s some angst and some falling in love. It’s just not very memorable.

If I had read this series when it was first published, I would have looked forward to a third book, the fiddle player’s training, hopefully by producer Mallory Hayes herself. Alas, that third never came out, as far as I can tell. Oh well.

Satin Sheets (Honkytonk Angels #2) by Paisley Smith: Jezebel Jones, Billie Martin, and Mallory Hayes are the main characters. The story is odd for me but okay. I did finish it because it is short. It seemed to move along much too quickly. This one was not to my taste but if you are looking for a quick erotic fix this may be for you. I will give this book 1 1/2 stars.

2.25...

Opposites attract. Second in training-the-submissive-songstress series. BDSM is hot, but not much plot.

I'm hooked. I can't wait to read about the fiddle player! I've read both of these stories twice now and I loved them both. When do we get the next story in the series? Mallory should definitely train the fiddle player herself.
