This short book does two things. First, it explains that the only way to decipher the Book of Revelation is with five linguistic counterpoints, precedents, etymology, literal meaning, and chronology. Second, it reveals who the Antichrist is, and translates Revelation’s contents based on the application of these five techniques.
Revelation’s cryptic imagery is impossible to interpret at face value. But closer scrutiny of its text raises questions that begin a journey of for example, why do its letters to the seven churches contain so many Old Testament images that seem out of line with Gospel language? The words that one might expect to find are rarely used, if at all—grace, faith, forgiveness, salvation, the cross. And Gospel language is hardly used in the rest of Revelation. Yet the book extensively uses Old Testament words and phrases, imagery and precedents. The modern church must fully grasp the intended meaning of Revelation’s written words, symbols and prophecies, because it is the Lord God’s warning to us about what is going to happen in the last days. Given the enormity of the trials ahead of us, I urge you to heed the insights of this short book, one that you can repeatedly turn to in your studies of Revelation.
