'He looked so fragile like this, his skin pale and clammy, his life slipping away.
I couldn’t let him go. I wouldn’t.
“This is the only way to save you,” I whispered, my breath warm against his skin.
And then I bit down.'
I loved this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I liked the dynamic between a dragon shifter and a human mate who hunts rouge shifters. I loved both Blake and Samuel. Both hunted, but while Samuel hunted dangerous rouges, Blake had been taught by the guild that they were all dangerous. Samuel had to make the choice to give Blake his mate mark or he would die from his wounds. I liked that Blake struggled to understand Samuel's actions that clashed with what he'd been told about shifters. I liked that dynamic between them and it kept things interesting. I was completely hooked to their story and thought they were quite cute together. Blake had fire, and Samuel liked his spark. I couldn't wait to see where it would go. 5 stars.
'And in that moment, I knew— I’d do anything to protect him.'
