Blake used to hunt monsters. Now he’s mated to one.

After years of tracking down supernatural threats as a monster hunter, Blake never imagined he’d be falling head over heels for Samuel, a dragon shifter with a fierce heart and a dangerous past. Their bond is undeniable, but blending Blake’s old life with his new one isn’t easy, especially when the world of shifters is filled with threats even Blake isn't prepared for.

Samuel’s lived a long time without a mate, but now that Blake has entered his life, he’s not letting go. Protective and possessive of his new human, Samuel would move mountains to keep Blake safe. But when a rogue dragon starts leaving a trail of destruction, it’s clear that their lives are about to get a lot more dangerous. As the threat looms closer, Blake and Samuel must put aside their differences to survive and stand together as mates.

Samuel is the fourth book in the Sky Stead series.

This is book 4 in the Sky Stead series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone read. This is the story of Samuel and Blake. Samuel is a nomadic dragon shifter. He belongs to the Sky Stead clan but he likes his freedom to roam. He has been assigned the task of eliminating a rogue dragon. it has been harder than expected because the dragon is somehow controlling a pack of rogue wolves to aid in their plans. Blake is a hunter of the Guild. He was told that they were hunting down a rogue wolf. He didn't expect it to be a pack of wolves. Fighting as hard as he can, he expects to die. But then he is saved by Samuel. Realizing that the injured fighter is dying, Samuel saves his life by marking him. It is only then that Samuel realizes that he just gave his mating mark to a hunter. This is their story. The book is written well and is easy to read. I liked how Samuel treated Blake with kindness and respect. It was shocking for Blake to realize that everything that he had been taught his entire life may not be true. Let alone that dragons still exist and that he was mated to one. He soaked up all the love and appreciation that Samuel showered on him. I enjoyed this book. I look forward to more books by this author.

Samuel gets his syoty in the Sky Staed series. I have read the previous books, but his one can for sure be read as a stand alone.
Espeevially since Samuel is not in Sky Staed and is more losely connected to the place and the dragons. The other dragons and families are not present in this book only as a phone interaction is there. I hoped for more, but given Samuel his assignment anf place in thr pavk/ group I can understand why the author went this way.
Blake has been hunting perceived or real rogue shifters/ paranormal creatures. Noe he seems the most unlikely person yo end up with a shifter mate. The way and why can be debated. but they dyivk it ouy and their bond grows to love.
This book has fierce and multiple fighting scenes. But in trr end this pairing find thier hea/ hfn. With a bff / ride or die friendship stronger than ever for Blakr still in tact with his vousin Finn from his hunter days and a new friendship for Samuel.

'He looked so fragile like this, his skin pale and clammy, his life slipping away.
I couldn’t let him go. I wouldn’t.
“This is the only way to save you,” I whispered, my breath warm against his skin.
And then I bit down.'

I loved this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I liked the dynamic between a dragon shifter and a human mate who hunts rouge shifters. I loved both Blake and Samuel. Both hunted, but while Samuel hunted dangerous rouges, Blake had been taught by the guild that they were all dangerous. Samuel had to make the choice to give Blake his mate mark or he would die from his wounds. I liked that Blake struggled to understand Samuel's actions that clashed with what he'd been told about shifters. I liked that dynamic between them and it kept things interesting. I was completely hooked to their story and thought they were quite cute together. Blake had fire, and Samuel liked his spark. I couldn't wait to see where it would go. 5 stars.

'And in that moment, I knew— I’d do anything to protect him.'

This is another fantastic book in the Sky Stead series. Samuel is a dragon shifter who is nomadic in his life he loves to be able to roam free he also knows that he belongs to the Sky Stead clan and that is where he’s loyalty is Les. He has been assigned to find and eliminate a rogue dragon and in his travels he meets up with Blake who is a human Hunter. Blake has been assigned the task of eliminating a rogue wolf not knowing that it is a I pack of rogue wolves he is after.
When Blake is injured, Samuel feels that the only way to save him is to give him his mark, making him his mate. There’s a lot going on in this story and of course both are a fantastic couple and I love the way that Samuel treats his mate and now they both have to work together to overcome the threat they are facing. Of course it leads to eventually to them living happily ever after together.

Tense! Blake, is a monstr hunter convinced that the Guild was right and truthful in their teachings. He is left by his partner to face the rogue wolves when a mysterious man saves him. His injuries were fatal and Samuel must implemenet extreme measures. Samuel is sent to handle a rogue dragon. Two missions, intersect and the consequences are grave. Good story, Blake and Samuel are forced to work together. The story was great, but I felt Samuel made a lot of rookie mistakes. The supe problem was intense with a bit of mystery. Well done! This is book four in the series and we get Samuel and Blake’s story, Samuel is the nomad of the pack not ready to settle down in one place but while out hunting a rogue dragon he finds his mate Blake badly injured and saves him. The story is good but is set away from Sky Stead and the pack and while I did enjoy it it wasn’t my favourite one, I’m hoping to read more from this series soon but it might be the last book also because I think that is all the pack members mated now.

Story is great, editing is terrible.

I enjoyed Samuel and Blake. The storyline is good. However, I've noticed in this book and the other Sky Stead books the editing stinks. Not just a wrong word here or there but massive continuity issues. He took me to the bedroom then we made love in a chair, then he took me to the bedroom. My rating of 5 stars is because of the characters and their interactions. If you can handle the discontinuity, you can still enjoy the story.

Samuel a dragon shifter is hunting a rogue dragon in the woods, that has been causing trouble to humans. The same woods Blake a hunter is running for his life from a feral pack of wolves. Samuel finds Blake barely alive and saves him with his bite. This begins the adventure of saving the humans. Two complete opposites joining together to fight. This story is unpredictable, with danger and steam.

Samuel finds a torn and broken hunter in the woods. He himself is being hunted by a rogue dragon. He mates with Blake and saves his life but the hunt is on for the two of them. Great book and action packed!.

This was a fast paced, fated mated story. As few touch and go moments which left me holding my breath.

Samuel and Blake were beautiful together and totally badass when they needed to be.

A bit disappointed

I'm not sure how I feel after reading. This book was so short and had nothing to do with Sky Stead. Was this a stand-alone book?? I liked the story line but it went so fast.
