Ramon McKenzie gave his heart to Noah, only to have Noah up and leave him. For over two years there has been no word from Noah…but now he’s back. He'll do everything he can to have Ramon's forgiveness, and to claim his heart, but this time, for forever.

But where does that leave Sylvia? Not only is she the personal assistant to Michael and Sebastian McKenzie, but she’s also the woman Ramon has been taking around town, on and off since Noah left.

Nothing is straightforward in the lives of the McKenzie Brothers, and Ramon McKenzie’s life is no exception.

This is book 5 in the McKenzie Brothers series and can be read as a standalone.

Please note that this is an M/M romance with explicit scenes.

The McKenzie Brothers series got lost on my tbr while I was waiting for the next release, but I'm happy I finally started reading it again. I skipped Entice because I just couldn't resist reading Ramon's story first. Major m/m lover right here.

This was a good story and the steam level was very high, which I loved! Noah and Ramon were electric together and I loved the scenes that had just them in it. Not that I didn't like the family parts of the book, because they were great too and I liked that this family was so close. But still, when Ramon and Noah were alone together I could feel the heat coming off of the pages and I was captivated.

I did have some issues with the story, but that was mostly because I couldn't remember much of what happened in the previous books or with the other characters. It says this can be read as a standalone, and if you aren't extra curious like me, then it can. But for me the little things that were mentioned about other character made me a tad confused because I just needed to know what was going on with them. Even with Ramon and Noah I felt like I was missing part of their beginning story.

Overall, this was a good story and I'm glad I finally got back to this family. I'll definitely be going back to read Entice and maybe do some re-reads about the rest of the McKenzie brothers.

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--CHERISHED is the fifth installment in Lexi Buchanan’s adult, contemporary McKenzie Brothers erotic romance series focusing on the five McKenzie Brothers (Michael, Sebastian, Ramon, Ruben and Lucien) and the women (or men) that they love. This is Ramon McKenzie and Noah’s storyline.

NOTE: CHERISHED is an M/M erotic romance with graphic sexual situations.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Ramon and Noah) CHERISHED follows the rekindling of a relationship –a second chance at love- for Ramon and Noah but also looks at the threats against the McKenzie’s and their current business operations. Two years earlier, Noah disappeared without a word leaving his sister Carla and Ramon to grieve. In the ensuing time, Carla married Sebastian McKenzie, and Ramon entered into a platonic relationship with a woman name Sylvia. But Ramon’s love for Noah never waivered and he pined for the man who disappeared without a trace.

Noah had to leave to protect the people he loved and now that the threat has been eliminated, Noah has returned home to discover that once again, threats from a different source have been directed at the McKenzie family. Hired to work undercover with the McKenzie construction team, Noah must first make amends with the man that he loves and the sister he left behind.

The relationship between Noah and Ramon is one of second chances between lovers and friends. Ramon was devastated when Noah disappeared but not knowing the reasons made it that much more difficult for everyone involved. Noah’s return brings with it betrayal, heartbreak and mistrust. The $ex scenes are erotic, provocative and sensual.

The secondary characters include all of the previous storyline couples as well as the McKenzie parental units. Ramon’s relationship with Sylvia remains friendly but Sylvia now has eyes for someone else. The requisite evil comes in the form of revenge for the sins of the past.

The world building continues to focus on the McKenzie family-five brothers who have found love and new beginnings with their own happily ever afters.

CHERISHED is an intoxicating read; an engaging storyline about second chances and love. The love between Ramon and Noah is all consuming; heartwarming and inspiring. The premise is passionate; the relationship encouraging and emotional; the happily ever after well deserved and fated. Lexi Buchanan’s startling world of the McKenzie Brothers is well worth the price of admission. You can’t help but fall in love with Lexi’s leading men.

Can I just start by saying I absolutely adore Lexi, she is one of my most favourite people.
I really, really wanted to love this book but unfortunately it just didn't work for me.

I didn't like Ramon much to start with, I thought he was a bit of an arse and I got whiplash from him blowing hot and cold all the time.

I really liked Noah, although I don't feel we really got to know him very well. There didn't seem to be much information about Noah and Ramon at all. What they looked like, personalities etc.

I enjoyed the story and the writing but I found parts of it confusing.
I love a dual POV but occasionally I forgot whose POV we were in and had to go back and check.
I'm still confused about the problems they were having on the site. I get who was behind them and why, but I've no idea what the actual problems were.
I don't understand why Noah and Ramon felt they couldn't be openly together for most of the book, especially after Ramon came out to the rest of his family...and, if I'm completely honest, I still don't fully understand why Noah had to disappear in the first place. It was dealt with in a paragraph or two and it just wasn't enough to fully explain Noah disappearing without a trace and a two year absence.

I got a bit bogged down with all the family stuff (especially the wedding, that seemed to go on and on...) and there are soooo many characters.

It was obvious that Noah and Ramon loved each other and I felt their chemistry but I found the sex scenes a bit repetitive and samey.

I read this as a standalone.
I wonder if I'd read the others in the series first maybe it would all make a bit more sense.

There are moments of sheer comic genius. Can you say Hot Tub?!
The writing is flowing and easy to read but personally I think you would have a much better experience if you read the others in the series first.

Gifted a copy for an honest review! To be truly loved and accepted for who you are and what you bring to people is a beautiful feeling. Lexi Buchanan gives a second chance romance that is hot, steamy and so very loving. Ramon and Noah's story will touch your heart and you find yourself cheering for them. Sometimes you go through a storm to find the strength you never knew existed. This is a fabulous story. It has hurt, love, healing and some hot scenes. Especially a particular scene which I will not reveal. What a tremendous series by Lexi Buchanan. If you haven't read this series then you should get started.

This was boring. No angst,no drama,no mature characters. Noah's reason for leaving was so poorly explained. He pissed some people off who threatened to hurt his sister and boyfriend. As a result he left them without a goodbye. Noah says he did it to save their lives, but that makes no sense. Why would that stop the bad guys to go thru with their threat?? They wanted to hurt the people he loved not Noah himself. Noah running away made 0 sense. Their reaction to eachother was childish and imature. Noah has a fit bc he thinks Roman wasn t faithfull in the 2years they were apart. That s so ridiculos since Noah left without a goodbye or a reason.

Two years ago Noah left without a trace taking Ramons heart with him.

Not knowing why he left Ramon cant move on, he is constantly reminded of him especially as his brothers is married to Noahs sister.

All of a sudden he returns but before Ramon will give his heart again he wants answers.

i loved this 5th instalment of the McKenzie brothers, and how we get to see them again. There are scene that left me needing a cold shower, amd parts that made me laugh out loud amd OMG the hot tub scene (i am not saying what happens as you will need to read for yourself but OMG)

Interesting that the end of the series is Ramon and Noah. They are now my 2nd fave male couple behind Logan and Tate [Try, Take, Trust].

And for some reason they are already happy at 56% but guy 1 is mad that mc is not open and proud like they are not in a southern town w rednecks that would kill their asses??1!22!
Yea no read like a horrible fanfiction

***3 I really love a good M/M, but this fell short STARS***

notangry

This is my first book by Lexi, and I had really high hopes!!! (I met her at an author event, and she was a DOLL!!!)
The book starts off very interesting because Noah is returning home after abruptly leaving his family, and the man he loves years before. His first encounter with so said man, goes over, well not so well, as can be expected. Then Noah finds himself in a very bad predicament, and Ramon shows up to his rescue. Everything after that is kinda blah...

Maybe it is because I have not read any of the other McKenzie brother novels, but I just felt like so much was left out. It seemed like either stuff was implied or you should already know certain tings and I didnt.

Also, there did not seem to be any depth. I love sex as well as the next smut reader, but I also want my characters to have some depth to them, and well Noah and Ramon didnt really have that. Now, they did have ALOT of sex... And EVERYWHERE!!! That part was something to enjoy!!!

I wanted to like this book more, I really did, but it just fell short for me.
Now the dilemma I have is whether or not to read the other McKenzie brother stories or not, and if I am going to read the Christmas novella, that is going to pick up where Cherished left off.

A really enjoyable end to a fab series. Ramon and Noah's story was fun to read, especially the hot tub scene! It was also very sweet, and angst free.

However I did wonder at how easy Noah found things on returning, as his sister Carla and Ramon were pretty understanding from the start, I know Ramon originally pushed him away but it didn't take long for them to get back on track and with no real explanation of why Noah left, unless I am missing something mentioned in Carla and Sebastian's story ( which I've not read for ages) and a couple of other things that happen are the reasons why I didn't give the story 5*.

Overall though if you like me are a huge fan of this series, and the author, you will enjoy this book, however if not i'd certainly suggest starting at the beginning with Michael and Lily's story and reading the rest in order as a fair amount of this book involves Ramon's brothers, there wives and extended family. Who are to appear in a spin off series starting with Eric and Sylvia in Blade, and that story will certainly be on my to buy list.

WOW! Lexi amaze me everytime I read every another book of hers.
I wasn’t surprised about her writing, because she is one hell of writer, but to write such wonderful M/M book seriously takes to have balls :). And what a great job she did. Loved the story.

This story is about deep love between Ramon and Noah.
Ramon still haven't told anyone about his preference for men. These two have known each other from construction site in Canada and happend to get in secret relationship. After Noah left without telling anything, Ramon hadn't known if Noah is ever coming back. After two years Noah meets Ramon in a hotel to take job which was offered by McKenzie's company. Will Ramon take Noah back? What has Noah to offer to Ramon? Would they still have to be in secret relationship? Find out for yourself :)

Ramon, Ramon, Ramon!! This man! He is the one that seems to hold everyone up. Don't get me wrong, this family is so close, tight knit and supportive of each other. Love this family so much. But Ramon seems to put everyone ahead of himself. He was there to support Carla and kept her secrets until she was ready to share. He was there for Sabrina and will not hold back if he feels his brothers are behaving like asses! He was there for Sylvia. But he has been holding himself back, hiding a piece of himself from his family. Although to be fair, his brothers kind of figured it out.
So beautifully wtitten.

This book 5, Cherished, was absolutely WONDERFUL! This may have only been my second encounter with this type of romance & both have been 5 ratings! I love how Ramon finally gets the balls to not care what others think. I'm a firm believer in 'the heart wants what the heart wants'! Yes some can be influenced by history & society but ultimately the heart knows what it wants!

Ramon's book is finally here.

I love the McKenzie Brothers and Ramon has always held a soft spot in my heart. I was thrilled to be able to read his story.
To learn about why Noah suddenly left two years previous with any word was intriguing.
I loved this book, it was full of love, passion and a little bit of mystery.
Thank you Lexi Buchanan for such a wonderful series.
5 stars all the way.

Not up to usual standard

I've loved all this series, but felt let down with this final one.
I found Noah in particular annoying and whingey. Not one that I'll be 're-reading as I found myself skipping past pages.
