To say that I have been DYING to get my hands on this book would be a SERIOUS understatement. This series has been occupying my mind for the better part of almost two years and I just HAD to be on the team to ARC read for this amazing series.
When Snow Falls is the third book in the Obligates of Aerta series. It follows right along after the events of book 2, wrenching our hearts from the trauma that we, as readers, were left in. On every page you can practically feel the ache and grief these wonderfully written characters are going through. I cried and sobbed through the first five chapters and cursed E.A.'s name with every sentence I read. Definitely make sure to have tissues in reach. You're going to need them.
And yet, in the Goddess fashion, our benevolent author ensures there is a bit of levity in this book. Ambrose, our beautiful Black Bear, brings the laughter and fun into this story that is a much needed reprieve from Eira's grief and pain. He, alongside our Protector, prove that Monwyn men are so much more than the back-ass-ward, thick headed, brutes that we've come to see them as. They are multilayered and so perfectly written that you can't help but swoon and fawn over them every moment they are in the scene.
Now, I'm not going to say things work out for everyone. This wouldn't be an E.A. Fortneaux book if it did. There are moments of turmoil, instances of panic, and parts that I outright screamed at my kindle over. But trust me, my lovely readers. Every one of them is worth it. The sights we get to see, the battles we get to endure, are so brilliantly portrayed that I literally could not put this book down. Seriously. I read it in two days!
Written in these pages is a story that is profound, stunning, wicked, and jaw dropping. All the little threads are coming together into a tapestry so vibrant and bewitching that one can't help but lose themselves in it all. Eira, Cato, and Ambrose show us that love transcends. That love heals. That love can conquer all, should you allow yourself to embrace it. When Snow Falls is a FANTASTIC edition to this series and, while it isn't the end we thought we'd get, I am forever honored to have read it. Way to go, E.A., you've done it again, girl! 💜💜💜
