I picked up this book because I kept hearing about AI and ChatGPT from my grandchildren and I felt like an idiot because I had no clue what they were talking about. I’m not a tech person at all, and the idea of learning about artificial intelligence felt overwhelming. Thankfully, this book breaks everything down into easy-to-understand pieces. It explains things like machine learning, generative AI, and ChatGPT in a way that made sense to me, without using confusing jargon. I finally felt like I could grasp the basics without needing a tech background.
What I really appreciated was how the book showed me practical ways AI can be useful in everyday life and work. Whether it’s boosting creativity, improving productivity, or understanding how AI tools are shaping the world, the examples felt relatable and relevant. I love the self assessments at the end of each chapter. That let me know that I really did grasp the information. I also really, really loved the activities that are included. My grandson and I have done a few and plan to do them all.
If you’re someone who feels intimidated by AI but is curious and wants to understand it, this book is a great starting point. It’s straightforward and encouraging, making you feel like you don’t need to be a genius to understand the basics. By the end, I felt very confident about exploring AI more and I am even trying out some AI tools myself. It’s amazing how something that once felt so complicated now seems like an opportunity I can actually take advantage of.

This is an excellent introduction to the world of Artificial Intelligence. Whether we like it or not, AI affects the majority of us on a daily basis in many of our day to day activities. This book helps dispel myths and opens the mind to how AI works, some of where it originated and where it is going.
The author is careful to integrate easy to understand language along with the technical terminology prevalent in the AI field so both the novice and more experienced AI explorers can benefit from the concepts presented.
I also enjoyed how the author utilized QR codes with access to mini quizzes to reinforce learnings, as well as to access hands on AI development tools that we could explore and directly learn from real world AI applications.
A quick read filled with great information on a very relevant and continuously evolving technology. Well worth the time to read!

A lot of case studies you can work with
I really liked the positive tone of the book. For once, it was not "how to use AI to work less or make more money" but rather how to show that AI will help all industries.
It is full of case studies accessible via QR Codes.
There's even a section dedicated to the ethics of using AI... there are quite a few people who should read that... if you know what I mean!

This is good introduction to ai. It is more of a discussion than a hands on approach, but one chapter does focus on several practical projects. It also has a lot of great links to really useful ai tools. Recommend to anyone who is totally new or curious about AI because it does such a good job of discussing all of the various applications as well as ethics and dispelling AI myths. Some repetition because there is a lot of overlap.
