*This book can stands alone, but you'll probably enjoy it more if you've read the first book in the series, The Christmas JULIA.
The Christmas Village: MELODY by Frankie Robertson - Book 2 in the series.
This is a time travel from 2023 to 1840's historical romance book. The books in this series can be read as stand alone books. This second book in the series features Melody, the Best Friend Forever of the main character Julia from the first book. For me it is a nice read and I liked that this book takes place 1 year after book 1 finished and the reader gets an update on what is happening with Julia. I did not like this story as much as book 1. For me it was not as interesting as book 1. Part of this book explores Melody's relationship with her younger sister Angelica and it sets up for book 3 which is Melody's sister Angelica's book. I really would have liked an epilogue at the end of each book where the main character of the book reflects on her life and updates the reader. Overall a nice read.
When I finished the first book in the series, Julia, I wished for more about her best friend, Melody. And here is her HEA. Some might find the idea of time travel travel without a machine farfetched. I appreciated this whimsy. My only complaint is there were a few loose ends relationship wise that maybe needed a prolog. Otherwise, an enchanting tale.
I could hardly wait to read book 2 in this series and fortunately had bought it and was able to begin reading immediately. Already familiar with both leading characters (as they appeared in the previous book) I was delighted to find another gripping story which I began and finished the same day.
I liked both Julia and Melody and I want to read the next one - Angelica. These were fun to read and engaging and even though I was pretty sure what would happen, I was pulled in enough to the characters to care about their decisions. A fun read and a fun fantasy. I love time travel books.
Second story in this series about women who go back in time and meet the loves of their lives. The women decide to stay permanently and so each story has a happily ever after.
