Exodus from Sudan: True-Life Story ... and More

Rate this book
Driven by his mother's plea, he makes the heart-wrenching decision to leave his homeland, unaware that this departure would be permanent. Once an ordinary middle-class boy aspiring for college, his life shatters when armed security forces raid their home, imprisoning his father and putting him in danger. With youthful determination, he navigates an uncertain path, striving to meet his family's expectations while witnessing profound events that reshape history. His decades-long journey ultimately brings him to the United States, where he glimpses the American dream. However, just before their long-awaited reunion, fate cruelly intervenes—his mother passes away, followed by his father, leaving him heartbroken and without closure.
This real-life story is not only a journey of survival but also a reflection on the political forces that have shaped, and often shattered, the lives of millions of Sudanese. A powerful cautionary tale, it warns of the dangers inherent in the shadows of unchecked power and fanaticism.

Alnoor Alnoor writes an interesting book about The Sudan

Exodus from Sudan True-Life Story is a very enlightening and also frightening book. This is the second I have read from this author, but this one is nonfiction, showing this author can write multi-genres. If you're familiar with the Sudan, and all that comes from its legends, and true stories of how Sudanese live and are treated by their own government, and so-called soldiers of God. Sudan is known for its torture, persecution, global terrorism and ethnic genocide. And then, when the Iraqi took over, with their invasion on Kuwait, it started something that is terrifying. Between massacres, home raids, and trying to escape to a better life. A life where terror and torture is not a part of the lifestyle. This is one of those books that grabs you from the start and pulls you in. A definite eye-opener and an emotional rollercoaster. This is the real story of the author and his family, and the reader gets to see what is happening from the narrator's slash author's point of view. One phrase that stood out to me, was the kindness of the words, Peace be upon you. Brave for sharing! Impressive writing. Exodus from Sudan True-Life Story is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.
