This is book two in the “Backbone & Burlesque” series and is best read after book one. Teagan is part of the fabric of New York burlesque club Titter. As Tease, she enthrals the audience with her seductive and passionate routines and as Teagan she creates all the dances and keeps the other dancers motivated. What no one knows is that she’s supposed to be elsewhere studying to join her family’s business, but she followed her heart to New York to be a dancer and with the hope of seeing River, the man she loves. When River shows up at the club one night with Teagan’s brother in tow, her life as she knows it appears to be about to implode.
In Teagan the author has created a unique, driven, passionate and vulnerable character who is fierce and unstoppable one minute and seized by doubt and anxiety the next. You can’t help but root for her as she battles with how she feels about her career as a dancer, her place in her family and the love of her life. River is a steadying and soothing presence but struggles with his feelings for Teagan, his best friend’s little sister, and his own family troubles. Highly recommended for readers looking for an intoxicating story with passion, steam, emotion and heart wrenching dilemmas.
