The Westons of Montana #2

Reckless with the Cowboy

Rate this book
Cowboy Becket Weston likes women, plural, and has a reputation for breaking hearts. His bad-boy behavior masks a deeper need to atone for past mistakes. His side-hustle—using a pseudonym and posting comic drawings of ranch life on social media—lets him explore life, love, and grief without being exposed. He even has a following! But no amount of introspection can explain his fascination with Eleanor Campbell—Main Street, Marietta’s newest shopkeeper. She’s definitely not his type, so why does she keep turning up in his drawings?

Ellie Campbell isn’t one for staying long in any one place, but when she inherits money from her grandmother and decides to open a yarn store in small-town Marietta, it feels like she’s putting down roots. She’s not looking for a relationship after one too many hard knocks, literally, but Becket Weston gets under her skin like no other, igniting passion that’s impossible to ignore.

He’s a bad boy playboy and everyone knows it, but there’s something about him that just doesn’t add up. Does Ellie have the courage to stick around and find a way into his heart?

I have been reading love stories for as long as I can remember and when I ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James The Brontë sisters, etc. during my studies, I was hooked for life.
I married my college boyfriend and soul mate and we are fortunate to live in the picturesque little seaside village of Betty's Bay, South Africa with the ocean a block away and a beautiful mountain right behind us. And although life so far has not always been an easy ride, it has always been an exiting and interesting one!
I like the heroines in my stories to be beautiful, feisty, independent and headstrong. And the heroes must be strong but possess a generous amount of sensitivity. They are of course, also gorgeous! My stories typically incorporate the family background of the characters to better understand where they come from and who they are when we meet them in the story.

We are back in Marietta, where I love to be, and the second Weston, Beckett may just get his HEA if he can put the past behind him, look to the future and do what he loves to do best and convince newcomer to town Ellie Campbell that he is not the person many people make him out to be.

Yes Beckett knows he has a reputation with woman and for him for someone who does not want to marry life is good, very busy though with working on the ranch with his family and doing what he loves best doodling pictures of his three dogs looking after his social media account and coping with grief his way, but when Ellis falls into his arms one afternoon things start to change for Beckett.

Ellie has moved to Marietta to start a new life, for her it is a pit stop before she travels more, but opening her yarn shop and meeting and making new friends maybe it would be a place to stay for a while anyway, buying her own home and getting a cat, like most spinster woman because there is no way she is marrying, but when bad boy Beckett literally catches her maybe a fling might just be what she needs if only she doesn’t lose her heart to him.

This one is a beautiful moving and emotional romance, that shows how friends and community can be there for each other, I am loving the Weston family and Beckett is a great hero and Elle what a beautiful heroine, I do highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a good romance, I am looking forward to the next one.

My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.

Becket Weston is a cowboy who works on his family’s ranch. His heart isn’t in it. He loves to do art and is great at it. He sells a lot on-line and he can barely keep up with it. All the ranch work and his art. He needs to decide what to do. He’s also a womanizer who loves women. Elle Campbell moved to Marietta after she left her abusive fiancé. She inherited enough from her grandmother, who loved and raised her to open her own business. She literally feel into the arms of Becket. She knows to stay away from him. She finally agrees to go out with him when he makes his plea about their chemistry. Neither wants to get married, so what can go wrong? Will the two both walk away? Will they confess their feelings that are bubbling up? Will they get hurt? I was rooting for these two. Sometimes it takes a while to find your soulmate. The characters are wonderful. Worth the read. Didn’t want to put the book down. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily

I love everything about this series. Ellie and Beckets story was so sweet and so hopeful despite his grief and Ellie’s trauma. The animals in this book as well as the previous keep it entertaining and interesting as well as the interesting gifts of the Weston’s bring a little magic without being over the top.

I also love the set up for future books in the series and I absolutely cannot wait to hear the stories of the remaining siblings.

Ellie inherited money from her late grandmother, who raised her; so she moves to Maretta and opens a yarn shop. Leaving an abusive relationship behind, she plans to stay in Marietta for a while, but she’s not ready to put down roots yet.

Becket is a player who loves women, but wants no commitment, ever. While he works on his family farm, his real passion is for comic drawings about his life on the ranch with three dogs. He has quite a following on social media, but is reluctant to tell his family as he feels obligated to work on the farm.

When Becket saves Ellie from a bad fall in her shop, passion flares between them. Ellie knows he’s a player, so she has no interest in being his next conquest. However, as they get to really know each other, Becket is hard to resist. Will they find their way to each other’s hearts?

No spoilers here, but I loved this book! There was depth to the characters and I love how Becket’s family treated Ellie as one of their own.

Ellie had moved to Marietta to get away from her ex and because it was the place her Gran had always told her about. After losing her Gran she knew it was where she needed to go and seeing it proved her Gran was right it certainly is a beautiful place for her to start in. Now opening her store was another step. Ok it's not a book store but a yarn store is the next best idea. The little town didn't disappoint with the locals totally accepting her and of cause she heard about the gossip mill. Especially a certain male cowboy. Beckett knew how the locals gossiped about him but they all thought they knew him, the local heartbreaker. But other than his three dogs and his family he kept his secrets well hidden. Until the new woman entered his life and Ellie was nothing like any other woman. Both characters have sworm off relationships and marriage each for their own reasons, but can the small-town work it's magic on them. Can Ellie let down her walls. Will Beckett let somebody into his life. Will the local gossip work her level best to put an end to them before they realise the truth. This is one of those books that is sweet, spicy and you can't stop reading. I really am looking forward to the next book in this series

I voluntarily read an advanced reader’s copy for an honest opinion.

Reckless with the Cowboy by Elsa Winckler, book two in The Westons of Montana series. As much as I enjoyed the storyline I would have liked it even more if it had a little more to the ending of the book. But still a very good book that was well written which pulled me in from the first chapter. Can't wait for book two in the series.

I gave this story four stars instead of three since I liked the characters enough to keep reading despite the focus on sex. Not a reader of intimate scenes. Skipping those did help me to finish the book quicker. Some heartwarming moments. Thanks to Booksprout for providing a copy. My review is voluntary.

Reckless with the Cowboy by Elsa Winckler, book two in The Westons of Montana series, is a wonderful, enjoyable, heartwarming story about starting over and unexpectedly finding love.

Becket Weston works extra hard on the family ranch, but his heart isn’t in it; he would rather draw.
He is an amazing artist, drawing comic about his life on the ranch with his three dogs. He has quite a following on social media, barely keeping up with the work he sells, but is reluctant to tell his family as he feels obligated to work on the farm. He needs to decide what to do. Becket is a player who loves women, but wants no commitment, ever.

Elle Campbell moved to Marietta after leaving her abusive fiancé. She inherited enough from her grandmother, who loved and raised her, to open her own business anywhere she wants. After hearing stories about Marietta from her grandmother, she decides to move there and opens a yarn shop. Her dream is to own a home, be a spinster, have a few cats, and run her yarn shop. She moved to Montana but didn’t plan on staying long until she literally fell into the arms of Becket.

Ellie knows he’s a player, so she has no interest in being his next conquest. However, as they get to really know each other, Becket is hard to resist. Neither wants to get married, so they should be safe; right. As feelings grow and passion flares between them, they need to decide admit their feelings or walk away. Some people are slow to finding their soulmate.

I loved this book. Ellie and Beckets story was so sweet and so hopeful; despite his grief and Ellie’s trauma. I love how Becket’s family treated Ellie as one of their own. The animals in this book are entertaining and interesting, and the gifts of the Weston’s bring a little magic without being over the top. I also love the set up for future books in the series and I can’t wait to see which Weston sibling gets the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

"Reckless with the Cowboy" by Elsa Winckler is the second book in The Westons of Montana series, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, having read both books so far. The captivating storyline, rich character development, and the undeniable chemistry between the two main characters kept me engaged from start to finish. Winckler's writing is fluid and immersive, filled with moments that draw you in, making it nearly impossible to set the book down.

The central character, Cowboy Becket Weston, carries a notorious reputation on the dating scene—he has a pattern of ending relationships after just two weeks, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. While he dedicates most of his time to working on his family's expansive ranch, he also harbours a creative side: under a whimsical pseudonym, he shares humorous comic drawings that depict the everyday realities of ranch life and his dogs on social media, much to the delight of his growing online following.

On the other hand, we have Ellie Campbell, a young woman who unexpectedly inherited a substantial sum of money from her beloved grandmother, who played a pivotal role in her upbringing. Driven by her desire for independence and a fresh start, Ellie relocates to the quaint town of Marietta, where she opens a charming yarn shop that reflects her passion for crafting. However, she has no intention of settling down in Marietta, viewing her time there as a temporary chapter rather than a permanent home.

Both Becket and Ellie are fiercely determined to avoid romantic entanglements and the commitments of marriage, each carrying personal burdens and emotional scars that have shaped their pasts. Their paths cross in intriguing ways, setting the stage for a compelling exploration of love, trust, and the possibility of finding connection amidst their shared reluctance to embrace it.

Reckless with the Cowboy ~The Westons of Montana #2 by Elsa Winckler:

Elsa Winckler delivers a brilliant addition to her Westons of Montana series with Reckless with the Cowboy. This instalment introduces us to Becket Weston, a charming and well-known player who famously never dates a woman for more than two weeks. Enter Ellie Campbell—new to town, determined not to settle, and certainly not interested in Becket… or is she?

The novel is exceptionally well-written, with rich, relatable characters that draw you in from the start. Becket and Ellie’s chemistry is undeniable, and their emotional journey is both heartfelt and entertaining. Winckler's storytelling shines through detailed descriptions and a smooth, engaging plot that’s easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable.

I highly recommend Reckless with the Cowboy to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with authentic characters and a touch of small-town charm. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series.

I read this book as an ARC and loved it. This is book 2 in The Westons of Montana series and while it can be read on its own you should read book 1 first.

I absolutely loved Becket and Ellie. I loved Hayden and Laura in book 1 and I know I’ll love every other set of main characters in the rest of the series.

Becket was a playboy and Ellie has a bad past with men that made her never want to be in a relationship. When they say falling for you I don’t think they usually mean literally like Ellie did off the ladder into Becket’s arms. Can Ellie get over her troubles and reform the playboy? You can guess the answer but you have to read and find out the whole story because I loved it and couldn’t put it down once I started.

I felt for Becket and why he didn’t want to have a permanent relationship because that was part of Hayden’s reason too when it came to Laura.

I also loved the animals and the “doodles”. How can you not love a cat and 4 dogs?

I loved this quote from the beginning of the book:
“I know all about you, Becket Weston. I’m not falling for those baby blues.” -Ellie

Reckless with the Cowboy is the second book in Elsa Winckler’s terrific new series, The Westons of Montana. The series introduces us to the Weston family of Marietta, Montana. We met all the siblings and the mother in the first book. It is nice to see them all again in this book as well. Book two features Becket Weston. He works with his brothers and sister on the family ranch. In addition, we learn that he enjoys doodling comic style pictures of his 3 dogs. He shares them on instagram under an assumed name and he has a side business selling and delivering his work. He is getting very busy with his sales and it is starting to interfere with his work on the ranch. He doesn’t want to let his older brother know about it. He blames himself for another brother’s death in an accident and feels he must work harder on the ranch to make up for the loss. It is also why he feels he can’t settle down with a wife and family. Becker has the reputation of being a womanizer and sleeping with many different women.

Ellie Campbell is new to Marietta. She opened a yarn shop with her inheritance from her grandmother. She escaped from an engagement to an abusive man. She tells everyone she plans to remain single and get a cat and read and crochet. Ellie plans to stay in Marietta temporarily but wants to find her own place. She’s staying at Annie’s B&B in town. She’s heard about Becket’s reputation from others in town, including his family. When she almost falls from a rickety ladder in her shop, he happens to see in the window and rushes in to help. The two feel an instant attraction and a special connection they can’t explain. Both, of course, have sworn off any kind of relationship. Not in character for him, Becket asks Ellie out on a date. After sharing some steamy kisses, they agree to take things to the bedroom. Their chemistry is off the charts and they decide to continue a physical relationship. Ellie knows his history has been not to date anyone longer than two weeks so she keeps expecting him to end things. Their futures are uncertain and there’s lots of angst mixed in with the romance. Both feel more than just lust butt aren’t ready to admit it.

This is a very well written book. The characters are genuine and very likable. The story is entertaining and easy to read. Both Ellie and Becket have experienced tragedy in their pasts. The family and friends provide support to both of them. The addition of the various pets adds a sweet touch. Elsa has created a wonderful group of characters she added to Marietta. I enjoy seeing the characters from her prior series as well in this book. This is a romantic story that has suspense and surprises as well. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it.

I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Reckless with the Cowboy is the second title in The Westons of Montana series and brings us Ellie’s and Becket’s passionate romance, which, unfortunately, is filled with assumptions on Ellie’s part. It’s understandable in some ways, because Becket loves women, but has no plans ever to marry. His survival guilt is a constant companion; his work on the family ranch, and his true talent (and passion) of creating comic art featuring his three loyal dogs and life on the ranch keep him extremely busy (and tired). His heart may not be on the ranch, but he has self-made obligations that hold him back from all that life could offer him if he were to simply tell his siblings how he feels.

Ellie left an abusive relationship and settled in Marietta, Montana, to see what this small town that her grandmother spoke so lovingly about could offer her. She’s opened a yarn shop and is making friends, yet she has no plans to stay long-term. She’s fine for now, but she lives her life with the thought of being able to pick up and move on at any moment.

Two very stubborn (and passionate) people are about to cross paths, and the emotions that follow are on fire. I loved Ellie and Becket from the start, both individually and as a couple. They just fit, even if it seems they have one foot out the door on this relationship. The new gossip queen in town will fuel Ellie’s doubts to the point where I often wanted to reach into the story and shake some sense into this woman, who truly cannot see herself as Becket does.

I adored Becket’s family; they are somewhat unusual in some ways (no, you get to figure that out on your own), but their love (and meddling) go deep. If you love a well-written romance with some issues to be dealt with, a small town you’ll fall in love with (Marietta, Montana, is my favorite fictional town), and a couple that really needs to get out of their own way for that happy ending to take place. I loved Reckless with the Cowboy by Elsa Winckler, and I believe you will, too.

Ellis Campbell is passing through Marietta on a slow trip to see more of the world she hasn't discovered. While in town, she decides to open a yarn shop, and her book club is another great way to build friendships in the town.
Men are not on her radar after a difficult experience with her former fiancé which only confirmed lessons she learned from her broken family as a young child. Now her grandmother who brought her up has passed away and left her with enough security to be independent.
Her ambition to be a single spinster cat lady only needs a cat to make it fully realised.
A pity then that Becket Weston should walk into the store when she was fall off a rickety ladder and throw all her plans awry.
Becket has his own challenges dating back to the loss of his brother in an accident years ago. It's left him with a strong sense of responsibility to the family and a feeling that he shouldn't have the happiness denied to his dead brother. It's left him with an unenviable reputation as a lov'em and leave them guy who breaks hearts before breakfast.
Ellie knows this. She couldn't have been in town for more than three minutes before the gossip mill told her all she needed to know about Becket. Even though he's family to members of her book club, she regards him with suspicion and a little disdain.
Everything changes after his ladder rescue and somehow the chemistry between them upends all their plans and assumptions.
I enjoyed watching these two dance around each other trying to rationalise the intense reactions that accompany each encounter.
There is a lot of intimacy in this story once they get to know each other better. I was puzzled about it and got to thinking about my reactions and while we get to see them relate a lot in the bedroom, it's not as explicit as you might expect.
The stars of the show are Becket's three dogs who play an important role in both his career moves and relationship development.
It was great to meat the rest of the family we met in book one in the series and the friend circle Ellie has built in her time in Marietta.
A satisfactory ending and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Becket Weston has quite the reputation around town, though maybe not as deserved as the everyone would have you believe. Sure, he’s had his fair share of women, but that’s all lost a bit of its sparkle for him. Enter Ellie Campbell, new to Marietta and determined to steer clear of a man like Becket—especially after fleeing an abusive relationship. But fate has other plans when Ellie quite literally falls into Becket’s arms off a wobbly stepladder, sparking a chemistry neither of them can ignore. Neither is looking for anything serious, yet Becket finally persuades Ellie to go out with him. A fling with a ruggedly handsome cowboy—how bad could that be? But as she peels back the layers, Ellie realizes there’s a whole lot more to Becket than his rakish charm. I adored the sweet, unexpected connection they shared through Becket’s art. Ellie had no idea that the cartoon illustrations that brightened her days were Becket’s creations—and the adorable stars of those drawings made their way straight into my heart. I loved how Becket’s loyal Labrador, Harper, seemed to have an uncanny understanding of everything that was going on, while his golden retrievers, Jack and Sadie, were like the goofy cousins that simply followed her lead. When a curly-haired woman almost magically begins to appear in Becket’s sketches it was a testament to how far Becket had fallen for Ellie, even though she was still convinced it was all temporary. This is the ultimate feel-good romance, set in a picture-perfect small-town brimming with meddlesome family and friends you’ll adore. Add in three lovable mutts, a sassy ginger kitten, and her bosom buddy, Duke, and you’ve got a heartwarming story that’s impossible to resist.

This book is so good and I really did enjoy reading it. I highly recommend this book to you all and enjoy reading your cowboy romance, I sure did.

This is a love story between Ellie Campbell and Becket Weston. Ellie owns a yarn store in Marietta, Montana and one day she is up on a ladder and just happens to fall when Becket runs in to save her from getting hurt. His own mother had told Ellie that he was a womanizer and could never stick with one woman and he was a heart breaker. So she knew his tricks ahead of time and his lines did not work on Ellie. Becket uses a pseudonym and posting comic drawings of ranch life on social media. Very few people know of his love of drawing and he has become somewhat of a star as he is getting requests to do drawings for other people. He has a lot of followers and makes a lot of money with his art. He does a lot of his drawings late at night because during the day he helps his brother run the ranch. Since he rescued Ellie she has been making a lot of appearances in his drawings with his three dogs. He has even taken the time to train his dogs to answer when they are asked questions. One bark for NO and two barks for YES, He is not sure why he keeps drawing Ellie, she is definitely not his type and has made it clear that she is not looking for any kind of relationship.

Ellie is not the type to stay in one place very long but when her grandmother left her money when she died she moves to Marietta and opens the yarn store. And that feels like putting down roots to her. What will happen with her and Becket? Will they get together? Will Ellie remain in town or will she leave? Will Ellie find her way into Becket's heart?

Ellie Campbell did not want to put roots down when she arrived in Marietta, but she soon sets up a yarn shop and buys a house. She does not want a long term relationship either. She just wants to be a single lady with a cat. Then when the town bad boy safes her from a fall in her shop, her outlook begins to change and she is seeing herself staying and putting down roots.

Beck Weston is the "devil may care" guy of Marietta and is not known for his long relationships. His roots are in Marietta and his family he loves his family and helps out on the family ranch. And not married with children for him. Little do the town and his family know who is 'other' persona is. He loves to draw and has set up an on line business under EL Beck and people buy his renderings of his comic drawings. And although Ellie is not his type, her face keeps coming up in his drawings.

I just love these two together. The chemistry between the two just about ignited the pages of this book. Once they came together, they couldn't keep away from one another. It was my fav book of the series so far. It was a book that once I started i could not put it down. All the wonderful Weston family and their friends make it fun as they 'know' more about the two lovers than they know themselves. Always being their with their advice, love and friendship. Just what we want for the books set in Marietta, MO.
I can't wait to read the next installment of The Westons of Montana.

I am really loving Elsa Winckler's "The Westons of Montana" series, a heart warming series about the Weston siblings who farm the Weston Ranch in Marietta, One such sibling is Becket Weston.
Becket is ruggedly handsome with twinkling blue eyes but Becket had a reputation as a "love em and leave em" kind of guy, Becket's love of the ladies was well known, as was the fact that he had no intention of ever getting married.
Farming wasn't Becket's first love, he did it through guilt and loyalty, his real passion was drawing and he was good at it, he could quite easily have made a living from it but he couldn't let his brothers down.
Ellie Campbell was new in town, Ellie had left her abusive fiancé in phoenix, her grandmother's death had shattered her but the inheritance that she left gave Ellie the chance to change her life for the better, even though she had accepted the fact that she would stay a spinster and keep cats.
Ellie followed her dream and opened a yarn store in Marietta, she loved it there, she felt at home.
The first meeting of the confirmed bachelor and the accepted spinster took place when Ellie nearly fell from an unsafe ladder and landed in Becket's arms. Ellie had been forewarned about Becket and when she saw what he dropped on her shop floor she was even more convinced to keep her distance but it appears that cupid had shot his arrows and hit his targets.
This is Ellie and Becket's heart warming story and I promise you won't be able to put it down.

Reckless With The Cowboy is the best Elsa Winckler story I’ve read so far. Set in Marietta, Montana, this book has all the charm of small town living, complete with the care and generosity of community and family as well as an intrusive gossip, who is determined to be the first to spread stories, true or otherwise and regardless of the harm that might ensue. In this story, the second in its series. we meet Eleanor Campbell, Ellie, who has moved to Marietta to start afresh after escaping from an abusive relationship and thanks to a generous inheritance from her grandmother. Despite her small size, Ellie is a strong character who it is easy to love. Her joy at the range and colours of yarn that arrive early in the story as she’s setting up her new shop is infectious. I love that she is bookworm as well and that she’s been central to the establishment of a reading group. Gorgeous middle brother Becket Weston is also easy to love, and not just because ofd his looks or his cowboy swagger. Despite a reputation as a womaniser, Becket has a heart of gold and a secret alter ego as E T Beck, talented Instagram illustrator. He’s clearly attracted to Ellie and, despite his reputation, unwilling to look at anybody else while he’s wooing her. Despite both of them being determined to keep things casual, it’s clear that there’s more going on here than just some very sexy moves in the bedroom. I loved watching these two falling in love and I loved the way that family wove itself into their romance. This is a reallyt sweet story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

3.5 STARS - ROUNDED UP

I wanted the h to play harder to get. She was warned he had a lot of notches on his bedposts and never was with a woman for more than 2 weeks. She was adamant she wasn't going to add to his notches. Well, that lasted about 2 weeks. Not a fan of this.

I did like the strength she showed in leaving her last boyfriend, who was verbal and physically abusive towards her. This was off page, and you learned about it, in her telling friends.

Family of the H's have some unusual traits, in talking to animals, knowing what someone is thinking, etc. Just a tad of this that I enjoyed. I got a kick how the H's 3 dogs interacted with him.

A lot of lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 5 out of 5. It was more lust for me than them having a connection.

One huge misunderstanding by the h, she acted as a teenager in her thinking. Granted the H has a history but how many times did he have to reassure her?

Near the end. what she discovers from her deceased grandma was very touching. I did like the secondary characters and how they interacted with each other. Love small town stories! Also, near the end a twist I certainly didn't anticipate!

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, standalone, nice set up for next story, some romance and plenty of steam. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

Ellie immediately fell in love with Marietta, visiting the town after her grandmother passed on. Opening a yarn shop, since Marietta already had a lovely bookshop, she was now ready to find a place of her own, where she could feel safe and secure, and adopt a cat and possibly a dog too from Cooper Weston, her new best friend, Laura’s brother-in-law. She only needs to stay clear of the other Weston brother, Becket.

Becket Weston, a guy with a reputation. Flirting and flashing his baby blues and killer smile at all the ladies, until they wanted to get serious. Becket doesn’t do commitment and is hiding a creative secret from his family, or so he thinks.

Ellie is determined not to fall for any of Becket’s lines and stay long-term in Marietta, but will the connection between the two lead them to change their plans?

Of course, there is some town gossip when Becket meets an unfamiliar woman for lunch, and a bit of drama when Ellie’s abusive ex shows up, throw in Becket’s plans for the future, Ellie’s dreamhouse, an Instagram account with doodled animal antics, and you have a heartwarming cowboy romance like only Elsa can write.

Reckless with the Cowboy is full of corny lines, love, fun, trust, forgotten dreams, and taking chances.

To be honest, I think I might love Ellie and Becket’s story more than Laura and Hayden’s of a Family with the Cowboy. 😏

The bad boy and his wannabe spinster - This book takes readers on another trip to the idyllic town on Marietta, Montana. I have loved my every visit, and there have been several, this most recent just as entertaining. Becket and Ellie were both reluctant to love, a past hurt causing him to effect a reputation about which even his mother warned her. She had left an abusive relationship, refusing to live in fear of her partner. But then she literally fell into his arms. What was supposed to be just a good time became so much more. Until her past came knocking, an unwanted intrusion in that was ejected by a most unlikely protector.

This is a lovely story with a great cast of characters. The MCs and the townsfolk of Marietta are still amazing (except maybe the local gossip queen). The town took Ellie to its bosom and accepted her as one of its own. Even the pets are integral, Becket's dogs pushing him to claim the love of his life. It only took one sniff and they knew she was the one to make their family complete. Ellie didn't become the spinster she aspired to be, but she did get a brood of adorably sweet fur babies, the house of her sweetest dreams and the man of her naughtiest desires. Maybe I should get a wobbly ladder....

Becket Weston has a rep for loving women and breaking their hearts. Well that is until he meets Ellie Campbell. And she is the least likely woman to catch his attention and to potentially break his heart.

Ellie Campbell has landed in Marietta after her grandmother's death. Her grandmother always talked about Marietta and this yearning to see the town where her grandmother talked about has drawn her to this lively small town in Montana. And Ellie has decided to settle here for awhile and opens up a yarn shop. (Can I go visit since I always am checking out good yarn shops? After all, vacation yarn doesn't count as stash yarn.)

There is something that draws Ellie to Becket. Something about him doesn't add up for Ellie. Can she overcome her own mistrust of men? Can Becket be willing to open up to Ellie what he has been holding back? Well given we know this book has a HEA, yes. But to not read it, you will miss the storyline. This is a wonderful fun easy read.

Well written, full of flirting, romance, abuse, chemistry, intrigue, twists and a msall town magic. Becket lives on a ranch with his family and works there but has a online business selling his art work. That's where his heart really is. Between working on the ranch as a hand and keeping up with his art orders, he just is burning too many wicks. Now he does have a very busy life style and enjoys his women. Eleanor (Ellie) is a young woman who opens a yarn shop after getting out of an abusive relationship with her ex. Not wanting to find any man now, she falls for Becket. She knows that she needs some time to get herself together but temptation is right there in front of her- Becket. Lots of back and forth between them till they get to their happily ever after. Would recommend to others.

I received this story and leave this unbiased, honest review.

Romance, cowboys, small town antics, and family members with some quirky special abilities? Sign me up...again!

I didn't realise I had read the first book in the series until the quirky Weston family started appearing. Gosh, I love the found family, warm, welcoming aspect of the Weston family. I loved the little snippets of Laura, Hayden, and Luke, who are from the first book.

Our FMC has a traumatic history, running from an ex and saw herself as temporary in Marietta, owning a wool shop.

Our MMC, Becket, has a history as a playboy, cowboy, and...secret artist?

I would rate this as open door spice 2 🌶.

At 200 pages, this is an excellent, quick read.

Tropes: Found family, fate, sixth sense, lots of animal friends, cowboy romance, who did this

Reckless with Cowboy is book 2 in the Weston’s of Montana series by Elsa Winckler 4.5 stars

Back in Marietta, Montana for more Weston’s…up next is Beckett and Ellie story is about so much..his guilt over the loss of his brother, working on the family ranch instead of following his passion, being a womanizer (though they know the rules), breaking hearts, not looking for love until she sees Ellie, the yarn shop owner falling from a ladder who he catches. She’s just using the shop as a stop gap for a year or two then moving on, putting her past with her abusive ex behind her, planning to never marry but becoming the cat lady spinster. What happens next is a fast paced, easy to read, laughter at the pickup lines, breaking down barriers and maybe an HEA neither saw coming…

I voluntarily read a copy of this book tule Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
