The woods are dangerous — not because of isolation or a lack of communication — but because of THEM! Travel deep enough, and you may hear their cries. They're hungry for your flesh. They desire to tear you to pieces. Included here are four short stories of creature feature A young woman discovers the horrible truth of what her dad and boyfriend hunted in the woods; two friends find something terrifying living in the old sewers and subways of their city; a family must survive the rage of a giant hairy beast after their car crashes in a blizzard; and a lonely man in his late seventies recalls his haunted past and how it's connected to the ATTACK ON SASQUATCH VALLEY.

Attack on Sasquatch Valley features four short stories, all Sasquatch related. How could it NOT be fun?
The first three tales are like vignettes, short, but packing a punch and then the last tale ties them together. All taking place in Toronto, Canada-the perfect home for big hairy monsters like these. I enjoyed all of these tales, but I think the third and fourth ones were my favorites.
In I AM THE NIGHT, a woman who is at her breaking point with her often drunk and abusive husband are driving home through a snow storm. With their two children in the back seat, mom tries to keep her cool when suddenly, they hit something big in the road. I bet you can guess what it was? I loved the turn this tale took and I was rooting for the mom to make it through.
In the last tale, the titular story, the author ties everything together in a clever, satisfying finale. Bravo!
Attack on Sasquatch Valley is a lot of fun and it's the perfect read for a lazy fall afternoon!
Four short stories of Bigfoot mayhem and magnificence. I absolutely adored this book of Bigfoot horror. I love books about cryptids, whether they are fiction or nonfiction.
The stories within are chock full of horror and gorror (I think I made up this word, it's a combo of gore+horror=gorror). They also have a great emotional quality to them. The descriptiveness is quite vivid and the writing itself kept me turning pages and flying through it.
Disclosure: I do know the author and it made me a bit nervous to read this because I was worried I wouldn't like it. Happy it turned out to be fanflippingtastic!
A fun and entertaining collection of four short stories that do not hold back on the gore. I enjoyed all of them, but the one with the family crashing their car during a terrible snowstorm was absolutely top notch. I was rooting for the mom, such a tense and thrilling tale. I also loved the final story which bought everything together. Highly recommended!
ATTACK ON SASQUATCH VALLEY, by author Jason White, is a collection of short stories centered around the Sasquatch. Each story is complete on its own, but when you get to the last--and my favorite--story of all, "Attack on Sasquatch Valley", you get pieces of the previous stories added in as references.
The last tale acts as a culmination of sorts of all that came before, and has a different "tone" (in my opinion) than the others. This one has the same horror and gruesome scenes as the first three, but also centers on the loneliness of one boy as he ages into the widowed man he later becomes. It also gives an altered version of the Sasquatch, one that others in this book don't show.
I had the best time with this collection. The juxtaposition of lovely imagery describing the moon, the forest, and the landscape with the gore of the attacks really worked for me. I could visualize everything. I also rooted for several characters' brutal demises. I was impressed by the way the characters were really fleshed out in such short stories. I loved that the final story tied all the others together. Attack on Sasquatch Valley is the highlight of my fall reading so far!
This collection of Sasquatch stories was so much fun! All of the stories were great with engaging characters and some gnarly Bigfoot action. I especially liked how the final story tied the stories together and gave a sense of place to them. The violence and gore was top notch but not the main focus as again, the characters are well fleshed out on the page and I found myself rooting for them. If you’re looking for some great Bigfoot stories, look no further than this awesome collection.
This isn't Harry and the Hendersons… Attack on Sasquatch Valley contains four short(er) stories: the first three seemingly unrelated but everything gets tied together in the final entry. Each of the stories was an absolute blast to read and despite the short length, the stories and characters were fleshed out well. The stories do not hold back on violence and gore, but it's functional. Sometimes, there's just a huge amount of gore for the hell of it, but that isn't the case here; it all works terrifyingly well. There's an emotional element to it as well, which made me stretch the last story out for as long as I could, torn between wanting to know what happens and not wanting it to end. Cryptids are absolutely one of my favourite (sub)genres and I certainly hope this author will delve into this topic more often.
Toronto has a Sasquatch problem... Or maybe the Sasquatches of Toronto have a human problem. This collection of four stories all connect when you read the last. Each stands on its own and hooked me from the first paragraph. With vastly different characters, and scenarios in each, this collection did not feel repetitive at all. If you are a fan of creature features, you won't want to miss this one.
