Unlike most beastfolk, Tsunagu has never gone into heat…until he met Mari, that is. And Mari is pretty sure her feelings are the trigger. Although he’s learning to control these new feelings, she honestly doesn’t mind his touch. And the more they spend time together, the more she finds herself growing greedy for that exhilarating feeling…
Again, I'll start with the trigger warning... This is a romance story about high school teenagers were one teenager happens to be a beast person, specifically a doggo. If you're uncomfortable with steamy makeouts between a dog person and a human girl the series is not for you. If you don't mind or like that sort of thing then no problems! I do think that it can also be interpreted as a metaphor for racial differences in actual human society... But it's definitely catering to the furries.
I definitely love watching the struggle of diversity and overcoming such prejudice. The blooming romance between the two main characters is beautiful and sweet. You can feel their struggles with not just their differences but adolescents in general, and you can't help but wish for their success in the future. It's a lot of low stakes interactions as far as conflict goes but emotionally it's still pretty high stakes because it's dealing with racial prejudice, diversity, and a lot of social stigma. I think this kind of story has a beauty of its own that transcends humanity being segregated by all the different categories we break ourselves down into.
4 stars - Even though Mari and Hidaka are developing their relationship, they're trying to be cautious due to public acceptance of Beast folk, which was surprisingly sensible of two teenagers to think of! Naturally though, they're having trouble staying away from eachother, much like Hana and Sana in the prequel manga. Though this series isn't explicit like that one, it does get some quite steamy moments popping up frequently in this second book as the pair try to hide how they feel from everyone else.
The artwork is beautiful, the pairing is cute, and I'm excited to see Mari in the beast folk's home in book 3. Maybe we'll get to see Hana and Sana properly in it? The one flashback of them with Hidaka as a kid was adorable and I'd love to see them fuss over him now he's older.
ngl i always read manga on illegal websites so i never pay attention to the volumes, but let’s just say that the overall story was okay.
it wasn’t anything special. but i did like it.
the whole “we should touch each other more so that the mmc could get used to the fmc’s smell and control himself better” premise is kinda dumb imo?????
have you ever heard of fasting??? lmao
it’s like trying to get rid of your pizza cravings by buying as much pizza as you could afford and then having them all laid out in front of you with their enticing aroma and pepperoni and cheese just a hair breadth’s away but NOT eating any.
it’s so dumb lol.
but hey, i enjoyed it. but like i said in the previous volume’s review: i want a cat beastman romance pls.
This manga kind of has the placeholder female lead. Which is kind of the most boring part. I am not sure if I like this and its very sweet but horny at the same time. I do think we will get more insight into the beast side of society next time and I am interested in that.
I think I wish there wasn't a romantic rival, it feels unnecessary when the biggest obstacle seems to be just the fact that she is a boring human and he is kind of omegaverse human. Which helps cause this is lust driven.
This is SO cute!! Are his parents from the manga Hana and the Beastman? I would cry if it comes out they are. I honestly just love how wholesome this series is. I'm rooting so hard for Mari and Hidaka. I'm also super excited for the anime adaptation of this series to come out. This volume had me smiling from ear to ear.

I love how this relationship is developing. The political social discussions of Beastfolk vs. Humans is also really compelling. Like a metaphor for interracial relationships. I really love this series. A new character is introduced in this volume, as well. Looking forward to seeing where it develops.
Oooooh, a love triangle where they’re upfront and honest about their feelings?! This series is so refreshing! It’s taking a standard Shoujo and twisting it into a take on prejudice with three very honest protagonists. I adore it.
Continuation of the story from the first book. Still sweet and entertaining to read. Fast paced, lighthearted, and so good to see the romance growing more deeper and intimate between the characters.
