I really enjoyed this story, it beautifully mixes mystery, magic, and emotion. Hadley’s return to her haunted hometown felt deeply personal, especially her struggle to face the past and reclaim her mother’s legacy. The eerie small-town secrets and strong themes of love and friendship kept me hooked. It’s a touching, magical read about courage, healing, and the power of connection.

From the very first chapter, James weaves a haunting, atmospheric tale that blends folklore, suspense, secret magic, and coven drama, all wrapped in rich gothic vibes 🌒🕯️
The protagonist is both relatable and refreshingly complex: flawed, fierce, and walking that deliciously grey line 🔥🩶
The worldbuilding is immersive without being overwhelming, with magical history and belief systems that add both beauty and danger to the plot. You can feel pieces of James’s personal world woven into the story and I loved that 💀📜
What really stands out is her writing style: moody, lyrical, and emotionally grounded, even in the most high-stakes moments 🔮🌒
She masterfully builds tension, especially in the coven’s relationships, which pulse with unspoken histories and dangerous secrets 📚✨
Overall, White Tree Coven is a beautifully written, darkly magical tale that will absolutely enchant fans of contemporary fantasy with a gothic twist 🖤🔮.
