Rate this book
Ask yourself, how many days does it take to fall in love?

Nolan Parker and Clara Lawrence never saw eye to eye. In fact, if you asked Clara she would tell you that Nolan hated every thing about her. They never shared any form of connection besides Alex Lawrence.

She was Alex’s bratty sister and he was Alex’s best friend, they never stood a chance.

Five years have passed and almost 12,000 miles have kept them separated, both living completely different lives. Unchanged perceptions and expectations should have kept them apart but when Nolan returns, the foundations of their ‘relationship’ is sure to change.

Their story was meant to end the day Nolan left for Stanford. But what if seeing each other after five years was the game changer? What if this was their one chance to rewrite their relationship or were they always destined to never be more?

Avid English Breakfast tea sipper and romance author, Len Webster spends most of her days writing, saying good morning to her dogs with kisses or trying to explain how the internet renamed her to Leonard Webster.

Len, is a fantastic writer with an amazing ability to capture the readers attention and keep them locked in through out the series.

This book has some amazing reviews and I feel like the odd one out.

Noel is an Aussie living in Boston. He takes a trip back home and his best friend asks him to look after his sister Clara. They haven‘t seen eachother in 5 years and never really had much in common. It just so happens that they fall in love with eachother. The problem? They don‘t think that Clara‘s brother Alex would be too happy about that.

Noel was a dick at first. His best friend asks him to take care of his sister so that she wouldn’t be alone on her birthday. He forgets that birthday, leaves her birthday dinner for her to pay for it all and lets her walk home alone so that he can take his ex-girlfriend back to her Appartement to f**k her. He didn‘t even care if and how she made it home okay. How big of a jerk do you have to be?!
He changed a bit after that and when he admitted his feelings to Clara but not enough to be totally swoonworthy,

Clara is the heroine. There is not a lot to say about her other than that she got on my last nerve sometimes. Everyone treated her like a fragile princess, so she never really stood up for herself. I didn‘t find her likeable at all and her stupid actions just aggravated me most times.

This story ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger so I‘ll have to read the second installment to find out if they get their HEA.

Thirty Eight Days isn't any ordinary kind of love story we often heard about. Every chapter has their own unique phase which will make you more eager to know what's next for Clara and Noel. Good writing skills

Thirty-Eight Days begins when Nolan has to go stay with his best friend's littler sister for a few weeks, because his best friend is worried how she's doing after a horrible break up. Clara and Nolan haven't ever been very close, actually Nolan has always seemed to hate Clara at least to Clara's way of thinking. But when these two come together after not seeing each other for five years, Nolan is thrown for a loop when he sees how beautiful Clara has become, and what a wonderful person she is.. Now he's not sure at all what to do when it comes to her, and Clara is the same way.

I did not like this book at all. I thought in the beginning it was a little bit slow, but it would get better. But I was extremely wrong. I still gave hope though, but in the end it just wasn't for me. The writing was good, but it's just the plot line and the characters I didn't like at all.

A few of the main things I didn't like were:
1) Chapter Twelve. Nolan is a major a hole (Not the good kind of a hole either.) and I felt like he never really redeemed himself from it.

2) The end was just awful. Clara and Nolan were both being stupid and idiotic. I do not even want to read the next book, because that was just not good at all.

That's about all I can say about the book without giving anything away.

If you're looking for a book that brings out every emotion in you, you're right here- Thirty Eight Reasons. It makes you want to smile, laughter, bawl your eyes out, punch someone's face, hug someone, scream in frustration, everything.

Each line Noel, Clara, Alex, and Liam say melts even rock-hard hearts. Clara makes you want to break into the book and tell her about Sara and her lies. Liam become the sweetest guy and makes you want a Liam for your own. Noel always proves how much he loves Clara, and leaves her crying because of it. Alex is always the wonderful brother and makes you cry badly at one point. Alex steals everyone's hearts by the way he's always there for his sister and best friend. CeCe never fails to make you Aww at her. Andrea is such a wonderful girl, and makes you like her too. Let's never forget Stevie and Julian, they're the best.

Who will Clara choose? Who is the most deserving of the angel's love, Noel or Liam? Whose heart will she have to break? Who will put up a fight for her?

So what are we waiting for? Just go and read one of the most addictive books- Thirty Eight Reasons

Two stars only because I got halfway into the book. Reasons I did not like it:
1)Noel was beyond cheesy at the beginning. It had me rolling my eyes and I ended up skimming some of his unrealistic corny thoughts.
2)HE FUCKED ANOTHER WOMAN.ON CLARAS BIRTHDAY. AND SHE HAD TO WALK HOME. I don't care if they weren't officially together. I especially hated that the author put in a paragraph basically excusing the sex as a reaction to him freaking out about getting to close to Clara. No. And then to kiss him 4 days after being hurt by him fucking another woman...where she can hear everything. Also on her birthday? Nope. Immediately hated this book. But it's ok because what? He is falling in "love". Psssssssssshhhhhhhh bitch please
3)I really hate the instalove. A week and they are already falling for each other.
4)It bothered me that Clara was a virgin. Noel can fuck whomever he pleases, but of course we had to have Clara all nice and virginey (yes I typed this correctly) for him. Again...bitch please.

So I started this with 2 stars but now at the end of my review I decided to change it to 1 star because I did skim some. I tried to continue, I REALLY did. But after the scene with the other woman, I couldn't. All this book did was have me rolling my eyes and feeling pissed off.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

♥ In dire need of the sequel! ♥

This piece of fiction is as close to a real love story as one can get. My heart hurts. It turned to goo and then it hurt again. I loved every second of the ache it went through, and just to know that there is a sequel to this epic love, my heart is bracing for the best.

Len Webster's debut novel packs the punch of veteran romance writers. She has a bright future in fiction, and I can't wait to see what comes next ... the sequel.

Tulips and Romance - a truly beautiful read

"Ask yourself, how many days does it take to fall in love?"
I was initially introduced to this story and author online prior to its publication. Immediately, I was drawn in to the story of a young woman (Clara Lawrence) and a young man (Nolan Parker). Connected from since they were young children through Clara's brother, they have not seen each other for many years. When they finally meet again in their hometown, the connection between them is undeniable, and we join them on their road to falling in love. But no one ever said that love is easy, and their story is hardly a simple 'boy meets girl' story.
The story is beautifully and delicately written, and we cannot help but feel the emotions of each of these young adults as they deal with the implications of their feelings for one another. Both desperate to be loved by the other, they also feel the pressure of the outside world which attempts to pull them apart. Clara and Noel are unspeakably human with their wonderful networks of friends as well as their own uncertainties, insecurities and flaws which make them all the more endearing.
I have to confess, I read this story a number of times, and each time I was happily drawn into the world of Len's words. She truly has a gift with writing characters who tug on our heartstrings and can make us laugh and weep. With her first novel, she has done a brilliant job and I sincerely look forward to all her future works lining my bookshelf.
Thirty-Eight Days is currently available as an ebook and will soon be available in paperback and hardback. I heartily recommend it to anybody who can appreciate a modern day romance which may just make you shed a tear or two.

Thirty-Eight Days is a beautifully, heartbreaking story and the perfect romance read! It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry (a lot), it'll even have you wondering how you have any hair left from pulling on it so much. haha! But most of all, it'll show you how to love and love deeply. Len does a wonderfully, fantastic job of conveying her characters and their emotions that you just can't help falling in love with all of them! Noel and Clara are truly beautiful together and their journey is inspiring and one worth taking.

I am so very glad I was able to read this book before it was published; also a huge, ginormous thank you to Len for allowing me to be her beta reader! I still cannot thank her enough for asking me. It was even better that time and I look forward to all the times after that when I read it to be thoroughly entranced by her writing.

If you haven't bought this book yet, please do! It's amazingly, awesome! Also, don't forget to purchase a print copy as well. ;)

Again, a gigantic congratulations to Len. I'm SO proud of her for publishing her debut novel and I wish her all the best with her future projects! <3

Thirty Eight Days is something that you can't get over with once you started reading it! Though when you were already in the middle of the story, you will be irritated because of Noel and Clara's inconsistencies on how they felt for each other, but you will still continue to read it and eager to know what will happen next!

It's how the Author Len Webster wrote it, that you will crave for more. And be hooked on the story. She has this thing that you will feel that you are also part of the story! Awesome writer, great story!

I give this book 2.5 stars. I struggled whether to give it three stars. I think this book and author has tons of potential and look forward to reading more of her books as she develops. However I think this book needed a lot more work - the flow, the writing and the character development. And I didn't love Nolan. I actually thought he was a bit of an ass who pledged his undying love for all of three seconds until he met some pushback. I'm mildly interested finding out what happens in the story but not sure I can sit through the whole book.

The plot of the book was oh so promising but in the end it was such a disappointment. Nolan was an irremediable jerk from the start and Clara could have been a good character without all the unecessary noone-likes-me, noone-wants-me incessant thought. She was treated by others (her brother, her friends and even Nolan) like a 14 year olds and she let them do it.
I found the ending to be a contriving way to create an uncessary sequel

When I read the title I was like what falling in love in 38 days no chance. Guess anythings possible. This book was interesting, I enjoyed it, I felt like screaming and telling Noel to man up, and I couldnt get the smile off my face when he finally did. The book had twists and turns which got me really annoyed, but the ending was just... Wow.

This book got me in so many ways that very few books do, and I love that it didn’t give me the typical happily ever after that so many romance books strive for. Which makes it unexpectedly engaging for someone like me who normally guesses what is going to happen before it happens. So let’s jump into the book now!

We start of with a memory of a young Noel and even younger Clara, as innocent as can be and as sweet as can be. At this stage I guessed the book was a boy (Noel) meets girl (Clara) and when they are older they move into a romantic relationship and live happily ever after!

Fast forward 15 yrs and we get to Noel who now lives in Boston and has been living in America since he graduated high school. At the time we get to him he’s preparing to take an 8-week holiday back to Melbourne, Australia with his best mate Alex. That is until Alex calls to tell him he can’t make it and wants Noel to go back to Melbourne as planned, but now he wants Noel to stay with his little sister to make sure she’s ok since going through a bad breakup. Noel ends up accepting for the sake of his best friend, since he has to stay in New York because of a court case he’s caught up in.

Then we move to Clara, and we will keep switching between Noel and Clara throughout the rest of the book. When we get to Clara we find her finishing up her final uni exams for the yr and looking forward to going home to wallow in her self-pity at being newly single. We find out that Clara considers herself a loner with no friends even though Annie, Stevie and Jarrod try to get her to open up to them and accept that she is a part of their friendship group.

Next thing Noel has arrived in Melbourne to sweltering heat and meets Liam while heading in to Clara’s apartment building. Liam chats to Noel and they hit it off as buddying bro-mance straight away. Liam mentions that there is a hot brunette living on the same level as Noel’s “mate” and Noel’s sexual interest is immediately peaked. Then of course, because Noel is a typical Aussie bloke, he puts his foot in his mouth because he hasn’t seen Alex’s little sister since he left for America. And turn’s out Clara has turned into a beautiful woman that Noel is instantly attracted to.

For the first half of the book Noel and Clara are fighting their attraction to each other and avoiding the other as much as possible. The final straw for this was when Noel forgot about Clara’s birthday after having a great dinner with her and leaving her to pay the bill herself and then walk home alone from Lygon Street while he catches up with his ex and then taking said ex back to Clara’s apartment to have sex with her while Clara ends up sleeping outside in the courtyard to avoid hearing them.

This mistake does however tip Clara over into being mad at Noel and that forces Noel to kiss Clara as an explanation of why he’s been so awful to her for so long. Now I don’t know about you, but if I was yelling at the guy I like coz he’s been a complete ass hole then I’d be even more pissed off if he then tried to kiss me. And yet Clara has the poise and control I don’t, and she simply turns around and walks out of her apartment to get away from Noel.

The next 30 odd percent of the book seems like everything is going well once Noel rescues Clara from a dive bar. They are super in love, doing cute dates, Noel even goes out of his way to show Clara how much he loves her by finding a trinket he bought for her before she was even born. The final 2 days before all hells breaks loose we know Noel spends the day making phone calls. Now they never actually confirm what these calls were, but I think that they were calls to his boss’s in America to resign, to his landlord to end his lease and to organise for all his stuff to be moved as well as to start the search for a job in Melbourne.

What we do find out at the end of the following day is that he organised a custom-made engagement ring for Clara that truly represents their love. Only to have Clara end it because she won’t let Noel explain what happened when she was told a lie by a spiteful ex and saw another ex kissing Noel for a split second. We get to hear how both Noel and Clara handle this heartbreak and I found myself wondering how and when they’d make up as I crept closer and closer to the end of the book. By the time I got to 90% complete with Clara dating Liam and Noel planning to ask some new girl in Boston out I found myself wondering what miracle would happen to bring them together for their happily ever after.

Only to find out that they don’t have one in this book! My first thought was “thank god! It’s not another sappy love story. It has a girl too afraid to really let people in who just want to be her friend, let alone want to love her. And she’s learnt how to protect herself from others”. However, at the same time I couldn’t help but feel that this resonated with me.

I’ve always been fearful of letting others in, of sharing secrets about myself and who I really am in case these get used against me to hurt me. And it made me reconsider if Clara is only setting herself up for more pain by doing this. Whereas Noel was ready to open himself to this pain and got burnt. But he accepted this and is doing the best he can to move on and mend his broken heart. And this is what I will take from this book.

I will never forget the first time I read Thirty-Eight Days. I was so touched by the book I didn’t ever want it to end.

By the end of the book I just wasn’t ready to give up on Clara and Noel. They are just such a sweet couple that it isn’t easy to just let them go! But luckily in the sequel Thirty-Eight Reasons their story continues.
All through the book I was just so drawn to Clara and Noel. Their story will be forever in my heart. It isn’t like all the love stories we often hear, it is its own unique story which makes you want to know more about Clara and Noel, and their friends.

Through the book I got to know a lot of different characters and fell in love with every one of them. Every character has its own heartbreaking story and luckily Len Webster is going to write a book about each one of them. I could easily relate to the different characters and their situations. They have me sucked in for what has yet to come for their life.

Len Webster had me hooked from the beginning and with her lovely words she keeps me wanting for more.

After finishing I knew that Thirty-Eight Days will always be one of my favourite books, … and in addition also the sequel Thirty-Eight Reasons.

There's something about this series that makes me so damn happy. The colorful characters, the angst, the sweetness, the chaos that love causes. Len Webster does a great job of weaving it all together. Noel & Clara's story isn't the easiest, but what love story is easy? Noel is everything you want out of a book boyfriend, even the reflex jerk reaction, but it's his faults that make you fall for him (hard!). Plus, reading this guy figure out his feelings for Clara is half the fun, though sometimes I wanted to smack him. Clara is also a character I didn't know I'd love so much. I'm always a little tough on the female MC, and although she frustrated me on occasion, it was never without valid reason. She won me over. Her love and intent are both innocent and thoughtful. She's sweet, loyal, and level headed for the most part, and she acts like any other girl in love, confused, and in search of doing the right thing by the right person. I felt just like Clara, I wasn't sure which was the right choice some of the time when things "could" be good either way. The moment this book ended, I needed my hands on book 2 stat. It's a no brainer. This series is addicting.

38 Days was selected in a book group i belong to and i must say from the blurb alone it sounded like an amazing read.

38 Days stars two main characters Nolan Parker and Clara Lawrence.
They have been friends since childhood and Noel (Nolan) is Clara's brother's best friend.
He is asked by her brother to go and look after her after a nasty split with her ex and he begrudgingly does as a favor to his best friend.
But you know the drill they have chemistry and both want to go further.
This is their story of mighty highs and horrendous low's.

This book will invoke every single emotion within you.
I was happy, sad, angry, broken, happy again and then wanting to punch certain characters lights out.
It takes a lot for me to feel the amount of anger i felt, and especially since this is a fictional story lol.
This made the story magical for me as you know a good written book when you feel it in your soul.

The book ended and i instantly want to read the follow up book...and that also suggests it was powerful!

I have given this book 4* and it deserves every one!
I would recommend to all.

This wasn't the best book I've ever read. In fact, it was rather melodramatic, the insta-love was annoying, and the main characters weren't very well developed.

So why did I give it a 3 star rating? Honestly, I struggled with what to rate this and almost went with 1 or 2 stars but I'm trying to keep in my mind that I read this on Wattpad so it's basically like a short manuscript and not the real story. I don't plan on reading the published version because I just don't think it will be my cup of tea, but I don't want to judge this version unfairly. So 3 stars it is.

As far as reading the next book goes, I probably will. But only because I'm one of those people who has to read every single book in a series, even if I'm not that in love with the series. It's a curse, really. Maybe that's why I've only been reading stand-alones lately.

Best book evaaaaaaa.
This is the best book I've ever read in my entire life. Although I must admit, I was a little bored with it at first. But once I got too deep into the book, I just couldn't stop. I couldn't help it. I kept scrolling page after page, chapter after chapter, and I never felt bored again. This book is brilliant. It's perfectly arranged to tease the hell out of the readers, but I still don't ever regret wasting the time to read it on my exam night. I would do anything to get a copy of it, and good luck to the author. I love you, Len. <3

Thirty Eight Days is a new unique kind of love story, full of drama, secrets, and jealousy. This book is extraordinarily tragic, as we find Noel and Clara making some of the hardest decisions of their lives, while always staying in love with each other. I recommend this book to anyone who has a soft spot for romance, plot twists, and happily ever after's. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the journeys Noel and Clara take to find their way back to each other.

Thirty Eight series is the reason I am going to fail my midterms :) Once I started reading Thirthy Eight Days I couldn't stop.
Noel and Clara's love for each other is heartbreakingly strong, it really melt my heart. And the characters in the books are extremely cute. I still don't know which one I like most Noel-Liam or Julian.
Once you start reading you will wonder what is going to come next. God I love these books :)))
