Come Alive is the 4th book in the Darkest Desires Series by Sage RelleAnne. Before you begin this book, please ensure that you have read, or you do read, Come to Bed, Come Inside, and Come to Head before you read this one. All of these books are connected and you will not understand Come Alive without having read those previous books first.
Thank you Sage for giving me everything that I didn't know I needed in the final book in Yara's book. Although I will admit that I wish there was one final book in Yara's book, I just wish we had one more book to know what happened after this book to this perfect little family. Through this book though, it was everything I didn't know I needed for Yara's story after everything she's been through, she get's the ending that she truly deserves, and I can be honest and admit that through this entire book I was nothing less than a total mess through this entire book.
Sage did her job and made sure that Come Alive hit as hard as possible. As a empathetic person I felt each and every ounce of Yara's pain, I went through the healing Yara went through right next to her and I smiled at her growth.
Yara's past, one that she thought was dead and buried, isn't actually as dead as Yara thought. And now it's coming back with a vengeance. And now it's not only Yara's life that's on the line, it's also her best friend Izzy's life and Yara soon learns that the two of them are actually way more intertwined than they ever dreamed.
And after she and Izzy are taken, their men are going to stop at nothing to get them back.
I love that Yara gets her HEA, but man oh man, what a trip.
Yara has been to hell and back. And yet, through all her trauma, she has managed to pull herself back to her feet, find the strength to rise again and find herself stronger for it, and find a peace and finally find a love of her own and when she found her love, that just made my heart ache and swell in happiness in only the best ways. And through it we see that she faces a trauma that is so raw and overtly heavy, and that only makes her finding her HEA in the end all that much sweeter and hit all that much harder.
Sage is a master in writing spice and the spice in Come Alive is just absolute perfection. It's perfection, passionate, creates connections that connect characters who have been broken over and over again and then put back together over and over again. Each spicy scene is meaningful, every touch feels as if it carries weight and by the end of this book, I felt as though I was just obsessed with these characters and I really wanted more of them.
Sage managed to perfectly walk the edge of a razor-edge between the darkness and hope and creates this beautiful story. You will find yourself crying, blushing, and by the end of the entire story you'll find yourself grinning like a fool because Yara finally earned her own HEA. This was her perfect ending to her journey.
We see emotional healing, the entire story is emotional, it's beautifully unhinged and as Yara's story comes to its full circle we find that all the tears we have shed for Yara, they have all been worth it.
This is the perfect ending to Yara's story and if you have read the rest of the series than I highly recommend this book. If you haven't read this series then I highly recommend it, Sage RelleAnne is a master at the stories she tells and they are all worth the read and all highly enjoyable. I can't recommend her or her novella's enough.
