The Payment is a 3 part serial. Each part is best read in order, as they are not standalone stories.
Part 1, The Payment serial
After agreeing to a one-year term of service with a benefactor who can pay her debt, Catrina Carter begins training in how to please a man.
But will a benefactor be willing to spend such an astronomical sum—one hundred and fifty thousand dollars—just to have her for a year?
She’s about to find out.
WARNING: This serial contains material some readers might find objectionable, such frequent punishments, anal play and humiliation. If these themes bother you, please do not purchase this series.
Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards.
She thinks the best part of being a writer is penning stories about love and sex while most others struggle with commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers.
Catrina is in major trouble due to her spending habits and about to be homeless and penniless and so agrees to be auctioned off to a benefactor who will pay her debts in return for one year of service from her however he sees fit. I felt at times that the consent was dubious (yes, she signed the contract but when she did so she wasn't aware exactly what was going to happen to her, how many men she would serve or what specific punishments she would endure from Jared. She had the power to walk away at any time, but considering that would leave her where she started - did she REALLY have that power? It's doubtful.)
I find it extremely difficult to find books that have only anal sex or anal sex for the majority of the story, so I was happy to find that all three books in this series concentrated on only anal and blowjobs and vaginal penetration was out of the question.
I liked this series. It was a quick easy read (I do wish the books had been longer or on KU instead.) This was my first time reading Cassandra and I will be checking out her other works.
I'm really looking forward to the next in this series. I enjoyed the story though I can't help but feel if places like this existed debt really would be reduced... except for those of us who would deliberately run up debt, just to be in that situation, to be sold off. Very disappointing 25% of the 45 pages are devoted to plugging other books instead of continuing with the story.
I have a wild imagination and love almost all genres including bdsm. This was just sick. Supposed to be about helping the girl and yes getting something for himself. Instead she was taught she was less than garbage. Never ever felt good about herself or physically ever. Then couldn't understand why she didn't care if lived or died when she ended up in hospital at end of terrible series
ok read not my favorite beating the crap out of a women till she is in agony is not very sexy. The lead character is not in a loving bsdm relationship where she’s happy she essentially being sold as a prostitue to pay her bills and being groomed to be abused.
This is the first dark erotic story written by Cassandra Carr and I think she did a good job depicting the unimaginable situation Catrina has gotten herself into and what she must endure for the next year. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her as she was "trained" in some sexual acts she was not accustomed to and being displayed in front of others. I found myself being intrigued at what would happen next to Catrina as she enters into this new life with her benefactor for the next year. I'm looking forward to finding out with the next installment.
A woman who's in debt (slightly less than one hundred fifty thousand dollars) signs up with a debt management services. After her two week training is complete and after an auction where a benefactor bids on her and assumes all debt, she is required to stay with him for a year. After her contract is complete she'll be free to go back to her own life debt free. I hope she gets a HEA with her benefactor. This is part of a series.
The writing was good, but not great and the story- while an intriguing idea- lacked consistency. Yes, the girl does the same thing day after day but her character is inconsistent to her personality and facts we have been told don't match with facts we are informed of later.
Prized by Cassandra Carr was a good quick read. Catrina as found herself in a lot of debt so she agrees to be of service to a benefactor for one year. The benefactor will in turn pay off her debts. Catrina must train in how to please a man.
Catrina had no contol over her spending habits to the tune of $150k. Out of credit, faced with eviction she turns to a "training center" to pay off her debts with one year of service to her "benefactor" who can use and punish her however he sees fit.
