Catrina is in major trouble due to her spending habits and about to be homeless and penniless and so agrees to be auctioned off to a benefactor who will pay her debts in return for one year of service from her however he sees fit. I felt at times that the consent was dubious (yes, she signed the contract but when she did so she wasn't aware exactly what was going to happen to her, how many men she would serve or what specific punishments she would endure from Jared. She had the power to walk away at any time, but considering that would leave her where she started - did she REALLY have that power? It's doubtful.)
I find it extremely difficult to find books that have only anal sex or anal sex for the majority of the story, so I was happy to find that all three books in this series concentrated on only anal and blowjobs and vaginal penetration was out of the question. This is book 2 in a series and book 1 needs to be read first.
I liked this series. It was a quick easy read (I do wish the books had been longer or on KU instead.) This was my first time reading Cassandra and I will be checking out her other works.

Disappointingly emotionless.
While the concept is intriguing and has potential the book sadly reads like a laundry list. I do wonder what would happen when one of the girls is into the pain... that would be more interesting to read.
I do wish the author had explored how both parties felt as well. They came off as kind of robotic most of the time

Kind of lost interest 2/3 of the way through. It's abuse couched as "education" in a way (may not have right word to describe it). I don't mind the abuse but I prefer it not be dressed up as something else to make it seem acceptable. Jared seems almost like a nice guy but his role is...unappealing.

This is the first dark erotic story written by Cassandra Carr and I think she did a good job depicting the unimaginable situation Catrina has gotten herself into with her debt and what she must endure for the next year. We got to see her go through "training" in Prized and now we get to follow Catrina's situation in the next installment, Possession, as she enters into her one year contract with her benefactor, Jared. Jared started out being cold, methodical and somewhat unfeeling but there were some instances where he softened a little bit as he taught her how to manage her finances better. In the beginning, I wished the author wrote the sex scenes in more detail when Jared brought his friends home for her to service them but that was remedied in the later chapters. Though the sex scenes were dubious and non-consensual at times, the author did a good job writing them in great detail and they were hot. This story is not for everybody but if you are a reader of dark erotic, you should give this story a chance as it is written by a wonderful author.

Possessed by Cassandra Carr was another good book in the series. Jared has become Catrina's benefactor and paid off her $150,000 debt. In return she's is of service to him any way that he wants. I enjoyed reading this story and can't wait to finish the series.

This book has a lot of hotness & intense reading material. I was not able to put this book down was I started it. It will make you think twice on spending money on things that you do not need.
