Architect Francesca Moretti has always been taught to aim high, work hard and finish what you start. So when it falls to her--the baby of the family and only daughter--to head up the family construction business and see a high-profile project through to completion, there is no question of bailing out. Still, it won't be easy. Construction is a guys' game--Franci will have to prove she's just as comfortable in steel-toed work boots as in peep-toe heels. To make matters worse, the financing company has sent a glorified babysitter to oversee the nitpicking workaholic Kyle Jagger. The human watchdog is constantly looking over Franci's shoulder--and not always at the blueprints. And Franci's getting the distinct impression that Kyle is interested in a little more than just the bottom line.
Stef Ann Holm was born in Southern California near Hollywood. With the fantasy worlds of Disneyland and Universal Studios at her doorstep, her imagination was stimulated at an early age. She attended Chatsworth High where Kevin Spacey, Mare Winningham and Val Kilmer entertained on the school's stage. As a semester elective, Stef Ann enrolled in drama and played a Fandango hostess in the chorus of Sweet Charity. It was the beginning and the end of her acting and singing career. She got a "C" in Drama and an "A" in Creative Writing.
She sold her first romance in 1987. While waiting for a load of laundry to complete at the laundromat, Stef Ann made up the name for her heroine, Camry, when she saw a Toyota Camry parked outside in the lot. Who knew that model would end up being so popular, making her in-depth research seem so shallow. Stef Ann has had twenty-three novels and one novella published. Her editor calls her contemporary romances, "Slices of life stories about real people."
Stef Ann lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband, extended family and beloved Beagle.
Ok, so this book is not so trashy. In fact, the only reason I picked it up was in hopes of some steamy sex scenes that can draw my attention away from general (celibate) life. I mean, really. If I can't get laid, at least my character should. Sheesh. Anyways, I stuck it through to the end and was sadly disappointed that it took me 300 of 360 pages to find the sex. And then...they "dot-dot-dotted" me. That's right. Just like in "Mamma Mia." I wanted to throw the book. How many romances are read because they have a good plot? Please. I read them for many reasons, but plot is not one of them. I learned that...your perfect match was somewhere out there, even if you had to wait till your 30s to meet him, and that he would be patient, handsome, and own his own company. LOL.

This was ridiculous. I wanted to DNF it but I was 150 pages in already and didn’t want have it all go to waste so I essentially skimmed the second half of the book. There was no chemistry between the main leads and honestly my eyes rolled into the back of my head so many times. Maybe it’s because I like independent women characters but Franci was sooo annoying. She kept talking about how independent she was but she was really whiny and not independent at all. I didn’t really like any of the characters except for maybe Mark and he barely existed in the story. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It sucked.
Very good book. I knew the dad was going to die, but it still shook me when it happened. I was just wishing he went to the doctor just once for the pain.
Picked this up at used bookstore - figured what the heck the back blurb sounds cute. Strong professional woman has to run her family company under "silent partner"/boss type that she really likes. Could be fun.
Problem is, this arrangement doesn't happen until well over 1/2 way mark in book. There is a LOT of slow moving, intro and background, and "oh my Italian family is just the best" scenes. I don't have a problem with any of that - except by the time we get to see our heroine working/in action there just isn't time or space left for it. There's no sizzle, no real connection or sense of drama, and overall I'm left with a book that is ok, no better.
I just couldn't get into the author's style I guess - telling me details and things I really didn't care about but skimping on good dialogue or any scenes with strong emotion or depth. Oh the potential was there, but the way it was handled felt skimmed over and "so what".
All The Right Angles by Stef Ann Holms This book follows two, Franesca who is an architect designer and aims high. Story also follows Kyle and his company that his father had left him, along with his mother. Time changes decisions others had made and now everything is in an upheaval. Love that there are two families involved and those involved=easy to keep track of them and how secrets will come out after the death that will either split the families or bring them together. Loved learning all the industry from their points of expertise and the flying parts and other careers the relatives have. Hot steamy sex and great family get together. I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
Franci, a thirty-something architect, works for the family construction business on the big new project her father secured thanks to a secret financing deal with a rival company. When her father passes away unexpectedly competing company's CEO steps in to oversee the project and the sparks start to fly between him and Franci. It's a fine story with likable charactes, and I was inspired by the fact that the dialogue was a bit wordy...maybe there's hope for me yet!
I happened upon the second book in the series not realizing it was part of a series. I liked that book so much I decided to look for All the Right Angles. I enjoyed this book, but thought parts of it moved slow. But, I can't stop now. I have to read the third book to see what happens with the Moretti family.
This was a really good "light read" romance. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Never any "too much information" which would have seemed very inappropiate in this story. There is some family tragedy in the story and the authors respectfullness with the characters was part of what made this a very good book.
This was a great book. It tells a story about family, loyalty, and making the best out of a situation that is less than perfect. The loss of a close one forces people to step out of their comfort zone and sacrifice to achieve the goals of an entire family.
liked this book a lot, I have already read the 'sequel' so I kind of knew what would happen but it was still a good read. Loved the Kyle Jagger character, love to meet a guy like that!
