The second half of the forbidden billionaire romance duet, SLAP/BANG Devilish billionaire Sever Mark is accustomed to getting what he wants—and what he wants is his beguiling, headstrong new daughter-in-law. Ivy refuses to give in to his relentless advances... at first. As she learns about the amazing man behind the armor, she can't help but shed her own.
But what will happen when she finally digs up his family's buried secrets—and when her husband discovers hers?
Once bicoastal, now just bi, Sirena Wise lives in southeastern Massachusetts with her partner and a small but ferocious dog. Her days are spent working for a non-profit, and her nights are spent with her imaginary friends who do unspeakable things to each other at her behest.
Despite what her pen name suggests, she is not always wise. Nor is she a siren, though she does live by the sea and has at least twenty thingamabobs. You be the judge.
I received an ARC of this book. I have also read the prior version of this story along with book 1.
First off, I would highly recommend reading part one right before part two, because I definitely felt the few months of being away from these characters in the first couple of chapters. I know the story well, but jumping back in to a pivotal scene felt jarring.
Second, in the first half of this second installment (I cannot believe I am saying this,) there might be too much detailed sex. Towards the second half, the writer pulls back and we only get snippets with more dialogue and I found that more pleasing.
Having said those two things, SW has an engaging writing style and is very talented with witty dialogue. You really feel like you know the characters and what they are thinking. You also fall in love with them and become invested in their HEA. She shows that even though every couple does not have a "meet cute" story and may come from severe dysfunction and abuse that they can find their soul mate and have their HEA.
This ultimately is a very romantic and engaging book (2 books ) with amazingly hot sex,
It just fell flat for me. It didn’t carry the same energy and anticipation as the first book. I really wanted to love it but it was okay.
Ivy, was very indecisive as to what her feelings were and how not to hurt both of them but yet she hurt them all the same. I’m usually not a fan of the cheating troupe but the first book had me hooked, and unfortunately it did not carry on to the second book. The smutt was not as well written as the first book either. Ivy, was more fierce and wild spirited in the first book, while in this one she dragged and played the victim card toooo hard. It made her character so unlikable in all honesty, her constant back and forth pinning the blame on Sever for the actions they both committed. When clearly she’s the issue on both sides… cheating on her husband while knowing it’s with his father and blaming Sever for spoiling her with the love and devotion he feels she deserves yet she destroys every attempt of his displays of love.
Sever is everything, he truly deserved his happy ending. Yeah he was horrible to his son and let him believe he was the monster in his story, to ensure he made it in life… like any parent would do with amount of trauma they both have endured. Sever as a father, needs work of course, but he at least takes accountability for his failures as a parent. As a lover, he is spectacular. He communicates what he wants, how he wants it and how he will achieve it. He from day one of having Ivy in his bed, informs her that she is his from that day forward and that she is his priority and he kept his word on that. He did the impossible to show Ivy his true feelings, faced his own traumas and let every single skeleton in the closet free in order to show her how serious he was, he pushed her to fulfill her true self and her dreams she shoved aside… showing her that he was the man he promised would be for her and only for her.
I really wished Ivy was written better and that Jason would’ve had more time within the book than he did. He truly played apart of the whole story and we didn’t get much on him in this book.
End with a bang was the best possible title for this cause girl I was GAGGED with this book! There is a plot twist with a line that had my jaw absolutely on the floor. The spice was even better, Ivy truly came into her own and admitted dad’s do it better. The plot though really came out to play, like book ones plot was good, I was distracted by the other part of the story in my review of book one but good plot in that but it got wild in this book and I was not expecting it to go the way it did. I love when books have the types of plot twists that this one did where you can tease about it but still I personally didn’t see it coming and if I had know there was a twist and I was looking out for one this still wouldn’t have even come to my mind. Usually I’m like, “Hey author give me a sequel or a book about the spinoff characters” but I don’t know where you go from here. I know I will be watching to see what comes out and blindly buying cause that’s what lead me here in the first place. Well now I’m off to find a billionaire who finds a personal shopper who knows my style then makes sure I can’t return the clothes or shoes in the spiciest way possible
After truly loving the first book, I was shocked to discover the MMC had a whole new personality in this continuation story. I made it to 42% and the only thing that happened in the book was a smidge of hesitation and a whole lot of sex. I expected the spice, even wanted the spice but somehow there wasn’t really a plot to go with it (at least not up to the point where I quit).
After the last book, all the angst, tension, and chemistry, this one was quite anticlimactic for me. Most of it was just smut, and the main male character becasically becomes a cinnamon roll. The main female also loses some of her spark and fight and becomes a sex driven character. Then the big reveal of the previous drama and their affair was a few short paragraphs, skimmed over and dealt with like it was no big deal at all. It's so disappointing to me.

I inhaled it but it left me with a broken heart, I knew what I was getting into, for sure. In the end, there’s no sugar coating a cheating spouse and a heartless father. When I hear the expression, all children deserve parents but not all parents deserve children, this one rings true. My heart broke most for Jason. He surely didn’t deserve so much betrayal in his life and I’m sure there will be plenty of PTSD to last an eternity with him.
Sever was a hot mess but his reforming nature came through his lust and later hopefully love in the unconventional form of his daughter-in-law Ivy.
Because of his lack of care or concern for his clearly unwanted son, it was hard for me to root for him. But three stars anyhow since it was well-written and we can clearly see the man-child in Sever. Another point of contention is that Jason appeared to be much more grown-up and less reckless than his father. It appears to be more common in today’s world unfortunately.
The end felt rushed and when Sever says that he does care about his son, it fell flat for me and it was just a way for the author to show that Sever is not a complete ass. It would’ve been more believable if he didn’t care at all for Jason and the whole taking a bullet for him appeared forced to show ‘oh yeah, he’s a good father. If this was true, how come he could spill so easily to Ivy about the truth of Jason’s mother but not to Jason himself and instantly mend bridges. Sever, here came across as selfish because he only did that to make Ivy his. This man never cares about his son at all because Jason wasn’t any worth to him unlike Ivy who gave him sexual satisfaction.
Ivy…it was hard to like her but it’s no fault since I knew what I was getting myself into.
Not my cup of tea but I’m sure it will be higher rated for people who enjoys clandestine romances and the forbidden. This was too forbidden for me unfortunately and that coupled with parents and spouses behaving bad. I bit more than I could chew here.
What I did like about the book was the brilliant prose and the writing. Towards the end there was a lot of telling rather than showing. It’s sad that Jason just got a line or two about finally meeting his mother but all the focus rather went on the romance between Sever and Ivy and the other major plot lines were rushed up.

Well, End With a Bang takes the forbidden billionaire romance to a whole new level of intense! Ivy and Sever’s wild, taboo-filled story continues, and let’s just say, it’s HOT 🔥. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but things get complicated real fast when Ivy digs into Sever’s family's secrets and her own past starts to unravel. 💋 What to Expect: • Age gap romance with an extra twist (hello, father-in-law drama 😳) • Intense daddy kink turned up to 11—because why not?! 😉 • Unraveling family secrets and plenty of emotional rollercoasters • More angst than your favorite rom-com suddenly needs—prepare the tissues! • Steamy high spice with some serious praise, degradation, and spanking mixed in (you know what you’re in for 😉) 📖 My Thoughts: • Chemistry: Off the charts 🔥. I could hardly turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen next! • Angst: Ooooh, the angst was done beautifully. It hit me right in the feels—can't help being a sucker for that emotional depth. • Characters: These characters need therapy... and I loved watching them start to open up and face their pasts. (Seriously, someone get them a counselor! 😂) • Ending: It felt fair, but I won’t spoil it. Just know, it hits the right notes (for the most part). Overall, this book had everything I wanted—steamy, angsty, and super compelling. It did feel a little slow in the middle, but it’s all part of the emotional growth, right? 😄 If you’re looking for a forbidden romance that’s as hot as it is complicated, End With a Bang is a good add for your TBR! 😈💥 #EndWithABang #SlapBangDuet #SirenaWise #ForbiddenRomance #BillionaireRomance #FatherInLawLove #DaddyKink #HighSpiceRomance #TabooRomance #AgeGapRomance #EmotionalRollercoaster #SpicyReads #RomanceBookReview #SteamyRomance #BookishFeels #BookRecommendation #RomanceReaders #AngstLovers #SteamyDuet #CheatingRomance
📚 End with a Bang - Sirena Wise - Slap/Bang duet book 2 of 2 -
🚨 *this book contains cheating & some (off page) religious/childhood trauma that might mess you up*
Cheating w/ your father in law• Age gap • Billionaire romance • family trauma• Possessive • High spice • daddy roleplay•praise & degradation•spanking • angst •3rd person POV • trigger warnings
This book started as with a good time 🤤 and it's always good to jog my memory a bit. The daddy kink is turned up higher and I'm here for it.
We get a bit more angst which is always a part that make me sappy. This book did that part beautifully. I love how fair the ending is.. (?) If that make sense. I love how each characters start opening up because all these characters definitely need a little *awakening moment* and by that i mean yeah.. therapy 😂
It did kinda feel flat in the middle with a *could've should've would've* moment but hey.. the characters were stuck and so are we 😄
I still loved this book so much, but the back and forth she had about not hurting Jason literally irritated me so much!!! Like, she knew what she was doing was bad, really bad and kept doing it. So for her to get mad at what he did, while she been doing WORST got me so mad. Like ugh!!!!! And I understand Jason not the best, but it's like just end it then. Stop acting like you are going to forgive him when you won't! This book is a whole lot of smutt, so be ready for that.
But this is why I love this book, I'm so mad at the MFC because she knows what she doing is bad and keeps doing it. Sirena just makes you have all the feelings and I know these feelings are there for a reason. Because I love it but hate it at all the same time! This book does end on a HEA, which I'm glad for and loved this book a lot. I just did feel bad for Jason, but he got his HEA too!!
End with a Bang is book two in the Slap/Bang duology. Both great books but need to be read together. The spice level in both is off the charts. Older daddy, sons wife, taboo sex all over the place. Sign me up. It's not for the faint of heart though. Readers please take the trigger warning to heart and be mindful before reading. I am not one that needs a trigger warning page so for me, it was fiction and that was it. I can't say I loved the idea of cheating, but it made for a good story.
This being Sirena's first series made me fall in love with her writing style. I look forward to reading more in the future should she be the brilliant writer she is for many, many more books.
This was amazing! loved this duet and the unconventionallity of it. While usually romances who have the cheating trope use them to make the partner look worse and enhance the good treats of the FMC, this one uses it to create dimension to it. She is the one cheating and going through the phases of negation, accepting she is cheating to deny her feelings, fall out in love and fall in love as well. When there are also external factors that increase presure on the relation, it becomes even more beautifully complex and it makes it delightful to have this ending.
Disclaimer: I received a free eARC from the author, but my opinions are my own.
An absolute banger.
This was the perfect sequel to Slap, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better resolution. Amazing flow, incredible character development, and Wise absolutely did not pull punches with that ending. The plot twists, the powerful statements which are so timely, the HEA that was a perfect mix of romantic and cute and hardcore... All of it, the whole thing. Chef's Kiss.
This duet truly was a delight to read and reread. I loved loved loved it.
While I absolutely loved the first book, this one was a bit harder to get through. Sever completely surprised me and proved me wrong in the best way—he was such a standout in this story! On the other hand, Ivy really annoyed me with her insecure and unsure behavior. I understand where she was coming from, but her indecisiveness made it tough to stay fully invested in their dynamic. While I shipped them hard in the first book, I found myself rooting for them a little less here.
The middle of the book felt repetitive, but the excitement picked up again towards the end, especially after Ivy's pivotal moment with the drugs. That twist brought the intensity and had me hooked once more! Despite the slower sections, the story redeemed itself, and I loved it again!
If Sirena writes it, I will read it. And I will never be disappointed with the time spent flying through those pages. I was desperate for the conclusion the this duet and it well and truly delivered!! You 100% need tor was book 1 first to follow the story and enjoy it to its fullest, but if you do you’re in for a treat. A true rollercoaster of a journey with characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
I enjoyed this read, but it didn’t hit as hard as Starts With A Slap for me personally. There was good character development, but Ivy tugging both Sever and Jason along while she tried to figure things out, had me squirming. There was quite a gap in time between reading book 1 and 2 for me, and I think readers would get more out of the storyline rolling straight into End With A Bang. All in all though, this was a fun read and I have no regrets. 3.5 ⭐️ 4 🌶️
I felt for Jason, I really did. I wish things had come to light sooner so we could see more of Sever and Ivy's relationship. I would have liked to learn more about his and Jason's backstory. There was just so much trauma to work through. I really appreciate the way it was portrayed. The way our trauma manifests, toxic habits formed, feelings projected. It was awful and raw and real.
This is the second book in the Slap/Bang duet and it concludes Sever and Ivy’s story. Their chemistry lit up the pages. This was a wonderful, romantic story even if it was about cheating! I loved it!
I didn't think the second book could top the first one but it did! Ivy and Severs story was not conventional but it was theirs. If you're looking for a hot and steamy book this is a must read for you.
I absolutely loved book one and had to find out what happened. Book two was just as amazing! I got the recommendation from a friend and man did I not truly know what I was getting into but I’m so freaking for it!!! Age gap, cheating wife, the spice is off the charts! Check your triggers.
DNF @ 30%. I felt this book was a completely different story from the first one. The characters had completely different personalities. I can’t deal with the MMC going from an asshole to a puppy. The writing was very choppy. I feel a bit whiplashed.
A perfect end to a perfect duet. Very sexy and exactly as dramatic as it needed to be. The prose is poetic but accessible and, while the plot isn't for the faint of heart, Sirena Wise is definitely worth a read.
What a wild ride this duet was. It was an addicting read. I seriously ate it up and couldn't get enough. It was one of the spiciest reads I've ever read and that is saying something! Overall a great duet!
A great ending to a well written story about cheating, family, abuse, love and honesty, that sees the would-be couple from book 1 finally get their HEA.
