My life as I knew it began on the day I met Drew Bryant. He taught me that it was okay to not always be perfect, that it was okay to loosen up and have a little fun in life, and that it was okay to fall in love.
My life as I knew it ended on the day I met Drew Bryant. He taught me that giving my heart to someone completely was the most dangerous thing I could ever do, and that the perfect world I was living in didn’t matter anymore without him in it.
But the most important lesson that he taught me? A broken heart turns into a reckless one, and what we feel inside that heart at one particular moment can set our destiny, making us a stronger person, a weaker person, or leading us into a darkness from which we can never escape.
Ever since I can remember, I've always had a passion for Creative Writing. There's something special about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen--or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. Maybe it all started with the soap opera-level drama I used to script for my Barbie dolls. Plot twists, emotional arcs, surprise twins—it was basically a writer’s room before I even knew what one was. Whatever the spark, storytelling quickly became my favorite way to explore, create, and shake up reality just a little. I love stories that keep me on my toes. The kind that push me outside my comfort zone and introduce me to characters I either want to be friends with... or dramatically argue with in a fictional diner.
I love traveling to scout out new and exciting settings for my books—but nothing beats a peaceful walk in the woods or a seat by the ocean close to home. Turns out, plot twists and inspiration show up just fine with a sea breeze and squirrels.
This book blurb is awesome. The reviews for it are awesome. And since I’ve read books from this author before and liked them, I know this author is awesome. Unfortunately, this book was not. In fact, I wish I could rewind time and take back the few hours I spent on reading this book. If you are in the mood for a story that is on the surface, lacks depth and quality, and has twists & revelations that are totally out of the blue and are there for shock purposes only, here’s your next read! The premise is a solid one (can’t give it away without spoiling the storyline) but falls flat because of the underdeveloped plot and book structure.
Twenty-one year old Becca Keeton is a sheltered and shy college senior returning home for the summer. Having grown up in a family with overprotective parents and a wild younger brother, her parents’ hopes and dreams are always pinned on her and so she never stops striving for perfection in school, leaving her zero time for a social life. At a party her best friend invites her to, she meets Drew Bryant and they’re both immediately attracted to each other. To the dismay of Becca’s parents, she gets in a relationship with Drew and spends most of the summer with him when she’s not busy with schoolwork. To Becca, Drew is THE ONE.
But for Drew his feelings were a little ambiguous. It was obvious he was hiding a gigantic secret from Becca and even though he cared for her, he also held up a wall between them at all times.
At this point, I was thoroughly bored with the book. Up to 40% into the story and I can tell you exactly what happens: have sex, eat, work and repeat. Then around the halfway mark, a plot twist finally happens. And let me tell you, this will be the make or break for you. You will either love it or hate it depending on your interpretation of the story. For me, I fell in the “I hate this plot twist” category, not necessarily because it was a bad one, but because the author didn’t do it justice IMO. She threw the twist at me then immediately jumped into a 6 year gap. Where’s the detail? Where’s the emotion? Then I’m treated to past/present POVs inserted randomly into the second half of the book. Those were great, and I liked seeing Drew’s POV but it didn’t add to the story, just took up book space that could’ve been used to describe the twist more.
Lastly, the final 20% of the book was a big block of cheese with a side of cheese puffs. In the context of the book, it was completely unrealistic and that epilogue? *shakes head* If the author’s goal was to strive for a 100% perfect, cookie-cut happy ending, well she accomplished it. However, I find it ironic to have her characters – especially Becca – go through what she did and send out the message that it’s ok to not be perfect, to have physical flaws and still be able to live a good life, only to squash that message by serving up a ridiculously cheesy epilogue.
All in all, this book was not for me. If you want a quick & predictable read to pass your time with, by all means this book can meet those requirements. But for me, I want epic. I want books that emotionally consume me and though I thought this book could do that based off the blurb, it didn’t.
P.S. There were actually a lot of complaints I left out because to voice them would spoil the big twist. But if you’ve read the book already (or don’t plan to at all and you’re curious) here’s a rant I need to get off my chest summary of it all: ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

My Thoughts - Story Ms. Rinyu is one of my favorite writers and is always an automatic YES when she asks me to review one of her books. She has a way of drawing the reader into the story to experience each emotion the hero or heroine is. She makes you FEEL – she makes you EXPERIENCE and she makes you LOVE. Her characters are real with real life problems.
Now – I was pulled into this story and was floating on cloud nine….until….yeah, I have to be honest here. I was sooooo freaking close to rating this one of my few 6 star ratings for the year, but it was the ending. I’m sorry…but with a story like this…I didn’t expect everything to fall into place so perfectly, so quickly and so much like a fairy tale ending.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a reason NOT to like the book and to pass on reading…I LOVED this book – I just would have liked the last 5 pages to have been a little more believable.
Besides that…my honest opinion is that this would make the PERFECT Lifetime Movie!!
My Thoughts – Writing Style Ms. Rinyu’s writing is, as always, flawless. Never any complaints about plot holes or inconsistencies, but if I had to choose something…I guess I would say that she cleaned up the ending a little bit too quickly – I would have liked to have read more about the couple….after the fact (sorry can’t say much here or I would be giving away the story)
Re-Cap I’m only going to give you a taste of the first part of the story…the part where Becca is a perfect daughter to an overprotective family. She has always followed the rules, never getting into trouble with perfect grades, no boyfriends and her future all mapped out for her. She comes home for the summer to spend time with her friend, Krista. Krista is the complete opposite of Becca and talks her into going to a party.
This is where Becca meets Drew and everything she knows about following the rules is instantly forgotten. This is the ONE who will change her life forever – this is the ONE who she can see spending the rest of her life with – this is the ONE who she gives herself completely to – this is the ONE who she defies her father for…..and….this is the ONE who breaks her heart.
Heartbroken and alone, Becca’s life is thrown into a tailspin and she must learn how to live all over again. She must learn how to trust and open herself up – she must for once, bury the feelings she has been holding for Drew and learn to love again.
But can she??

I am such a huge fan of Beth’s writing. She always writes with such emotion and creates these characters that you can relate to and fall hard for. Blind Side of Love I think is by far her bet one yet. This is one of those books that left me with a book hangover. I even went back and read the ending again because it was that . I just fell in love with the characters and the storyline was fantastic and different.
Becca is this smart, beautiful and amazing young girl whose father is a bit on the strict side. He wants to control her life and for her to do as he say. He seems to have her best interests at heart all though it may not come out that way. But he doesn’t want her dating and ruining any chance of her future because of it. But while in college Becca meets a boy who she spends the summer getting to know. She ends up falling in love with him, even it means that her father being disappointed in her. But when her heart gets shattered into a million pieces she makes a decision. And that one decision will affect her for the rest of her life. This one decision has affected her life in so many ways. But she does everything to move on and live her life, even if finding love and happiness with someone may never happen.
I am going to stop right there because going any further will ruin it.
I felt all of the feels with this book. It was heart breaking at times, and there was a moment or two where the main characters pissed me off a but. But there were also these sweet and loving moments that caused tears in my eyes, put a huge smile on my face and were completely swoon worthy. There are moments that will simply melt your heart. There are a few twists and turns along the way that you didn’t see coming. And there is that one moment where you are sitting on pins and needles just waiting for the other shoe to drop. And you just know that when it does it will not go well and there is the slight possibility that your heart will break all over again. See all of the feels.
I don’t think words can describe how beautiful this story truly is. It is a story about fate, love and forgiveness. It is a story that shows how one decision that seems so right at the time can change the whole course of your life. Beth Rinyu has completely blown me away with this one. We see alternating point of views in certain parts of the book the story flowed so nicely and was flawless. I have read and loved every one of Beth’s books. And I love them all! But this book, which is a little different than her other books, was in my opinion her best work yet. And my boyfriend Dailan O’Malley (from one of Beth’s other series) has some serious competition after reading this one.
I know this review may have been a little cryptic but I did that for a reason. All I can say is read this book. You will not be disappointed at all!!. Absolutely amazing. I thought about it for days, and want to go back and read it all over again.
Beth's books always make cry (some Fugly tears) but they always have a message that each of us need to remember throughout our daily lives. Life is far from perfect or even fair at times. In this book she reminded us of the beauty in everything that most of us take for granted. She reminded us that stupid decisions can sometimes have severe consequences, but it's how we endure, learn & not only survive them but what we take away from them. How, if you want something bad enough, you will keep trying to obtain it that..'Don't let fear hold you back. Just because something bad happened once it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen again. Some of the best moments are those that we never imagined ourselves in again. Don’t ever let anything prevent you from what you want to do. If you want it bad enough, it’s always obtainable no matter what obstacles are in your way. Sometimes, those road blocks make it much more gratifying when you do finally reach that goal.” This book is a great story reminding each of us this !
Wow, what a fantastic book! This story sucked me in and I lived it, reading right through the night until the sun came up, it seriously was that gripping!
This is a hard book to review without giving away spoilers and that would be terrible as you really need to go in to this story with no knowledge to experience this to its full. There were many twists and turns to this story but all of them were believable and real. There was never a dull moment, never a natural break to take a rest as I felt I needed to keep reading on to know what was going to happen next.
The characters had depth and feeling to them. There were some I loved and adored, some I liked, some I tolerated and some I down right detested. But no matter what, Beth Rinyu made me feel something, whether good or bad, about each and every one of them.
We are taken on a thoroughly thought provoking journey of love, lust, jealousy, decision making, deceit, fate and forgiveness. We are shown how much choice and bad decisions can affect your life path. There are times where your heart will crack and shatter and times where it will melt and mend and it will definitely sigh a few times. You will be taken on a ride that you will be so very glad you embarked on and you may even find that you learn a lesson or two along the way.
I know that I have written quite a cryptic review but please one click and dive in blind. You will be thanking me for not spoiling a thing about this beautiful story. Beth Rinyu just keeps on getting better and better!

Great story about love and choices. And how sometimes a stupid choice can change your life forever. And how people we think we can trust end up breaking our hearts. Becca is what most would call a "Miss Goody Two Shoes" she made good grades she didn't drink do drugs or have SEX. She was the perfect daughter. In her senior year in college she meets Drew the new Hot guy in town. They become inseparable but not everyone is happy about this. Becca dad is not happy with the changes hes seeing in his daughter. Becca thinks Drew is the one she will be with forever. That is until Drew breaks her heart by leaving town. She makes a tragic make that changes her world forever. Becca doesn't think she will ever trust a guy again. But Mason changes everything. Mason makes her feel things she hadn't in yrs he helps her see she she can love and trust again. And that things always seem to work out as they are meant to.
Becca was the perfect daughter and good girl who followed the rules. Then she met a young man that made her feel beautiful, taught her to live for herself and enjoy the small things in life. He encouraged her to challenge things that kept her locked in and to follow her dreams. But there were parts of the situation that she was not aware of. And when it did not work out like she hoped, she was devastated and it sent her into a tailspin with long lasting repercussions.
When Becca has a second chance at finding love, she has to let go of her fears from the past and insecurities in order to let someone into her new life. But can she handle trusting someone and taking the risk of being hurt again?
It was interesting to see her love stories unfold twice and the connections made. There were some definite secrets, lies, and plot twists. I will admit that I figured out one of the twists, but one of them totally shocked me. And there were many other little surprises along the way.
This is a story of living life to its fullest, second chances, and finding hope in the darkness. It's about seeing the beauty in the world however it is presented to you and overcoming obstacles. The characters were strong and determined despite the fact that they also had fears and insecurities.
Becca's true love story was challenging, heartbreaking, emotional, and different. It was an engaging story of the power of love to bring hope, acceptance, and healing. It was told in both points of view but divided in such a way to allow there to be more curiosity with the story and filter how the information unfolded. The characters had intriguing stories with depth and challenges. The plot had surprises, twists, and turns that kept it interesting. The characters grew on me more and more as the book went on and their strengths, fears, and connections become more exposed. And the intensity and plot built as the story went on. It kept me tense and thinking and anticipating how it would all work out. This is one of those reviews that you just can't say much or it will give too much away. So will just leave it at that so you can experience it for yourself.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
We first meet Becca when she comes home on break from school, The only thing this town has to offer Becca now is her best friend Krista and her family. One night when she attends a party that Krista has dragged Becca too she meets the eye of Drew who happens to be best friends with the sleazy Ashton and her world is turned upside down. Her heart that's been guarded from everyone finds a true connection to Drew and a relationship is formed but Becca is trying to juggle being a good girl for her family, learning to let herself live a little with Drew but also run errands for a women's charity that Ashton family are fronting. When everything is hard to juggle and Becca finds herself struggling with life she needs to forget and finds herself turning to Ashton to help her forget but a mistake has life changing consequences for her. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and I will warn that it will make you cry like a baby. Such a beautifully written book that has so much depth and emotion to it.
I was given an advance copy in exchange for am honest review.
My god woman you can write!!!
I have never been let down with any of Beth's work each book is better than the other one.
I did not see this story line at all, it was pure genius!
The characters were amazing! Of course we had our usual arseholes in the book but we also had the love story and my god was it sweet.
I highly recommend this book to you all, I will put money on that you would not call any part of this book. I even balled my eyes out! ( me tough cookie who doesn't cry)
This was such a great book by a new-to-me author! I really enjoyed the character development particularly that of Becca. Watching her mature and fall in love was so wonderful to see despite the catastrophic events that unfolded. I loved the twists woven so perfectly into the storyline! The author certainly had me second-guessing myself quite a few times and I loved that! Overall, this was a great read and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I look forward to reading more of this authors writing.
This story was so great I couldn't put it down. I loved mason how he was so sweet but at the same time had a hard job and Becca had a big heart that didn't see people's wrong and even though she went blind she moved on made a life without feeling sorry for her self. Loved this story .
Beth Rinyu your characters and books can do no wrong. Every time I sit down with a book from Beth I know that not only will I fall in love with the characters immediately I will have another book to add to my all time favorite book shelve.
Blind Side of Love that is an understatement. I was Blindsided by Love with these two characters and their all to swoon worthy fabulousness.
Becca is the perfect daughter and the perfect girl. Not snotty or snobby just well rounded and makes good choices, most of the time. She is well on her way through life when she manages to have her heart and life turned upside down. But have no fear Mason is here. He swoops in with his all too kind heart and teaches Becca to “see” love and trust again. But that’s not all. That’s never just the end. Beth always has a twist for us that will blow you away or in my case just blindsided me. I knew it was coming but I just love what this lady can do with a story. I melted, I cried, I laughed and my heart was broken and put back together again.
Beth Rinyu you have once again brought me to my feet screaming and jumping up and down . I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!!!
Holy Plot twist! This book was awesome. I love Becca, she was such a strong AMAZING character. I love all of Beth Rinyu's books but I think this may be my favorite. Loved the originality of this book and how it wasn't the same old recycled plot. I can't say too much in this review because it's very easy to give away a lot of the secrets. I will say that each character was deeply developed something that this author excels in! She makes you feel every emotion that they are going through. It had a sweet romance but still managed to keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it!
This is another wonderful book by Ms. Rinyu that captures her characters to perfection. When you meet Becca and Drew there chemistry is not to be denied and you feel every bit of it and then everything takes an unexpected turn and you are left heart broken. I had to get my tissues, before I dove into part two. Ms. Rinyu is the master of surprise. She did it again.
Becca comes from a well-to-do family. She is considered by most to be a “goody two shoes” and can count her friends on one hand. Home from school, she attends a party with her best friend, Krista, and that’s where her life changes. The party is being held at Ashton’s house, the town’s sleazy player, who wants in her panties. Becca meets Drew, Ashton’s friend, and her world is turned upside down after that first encounter.
This is a story of love and the way choices can completely change the course of our lives. Becca finds herself devastated after a heartbreak and the choice she makes as a result, has tremendous impact on her future. She struggles to come to grips with the hand she’s been dealt, but time helps heal some wounds and she learns to live and accept her new fate, with the help of a new man in her life, Mason.
Twists and turns that happen over the course of several years, make this story a very interesting read. It is full of love, family relationships, second chances, and overcoming obstacles. We see how lives change with one single decision, but how strong convictions and determination can help change the outcome of that same decision. The flow of the story was easy to follow, the plot didn’t drag, and the characters were very relateable. This is one book I was able to finish in a few hours and enjoyed every single moment.
WOW!! I have loved books before but this one jumped up immediately to my top 5! I absolutely loved it! My fav Beth book so far! Amazing story of love, loss, determination, making choices & living with the consequences of those actions!
We have Becca who is in college. She's smart, sweet, and knows what she wants and it's not what her family wants! Her family has money but she doesn't really care about that! She does, however, live her life how her daddy wants her to! She's the perfect daughter until she meets Drew at a party one night! Drew is not who her dad would want her with! They hit it off! He's perfect! Drew is sweet, protective and an amazing boyfriend! Things seem to be going good when Drew leaves Becca! Just out of the blue! I'm not going to lie, I was upset! I really liked Drew! How could he just leave?? Becca is very upset & rebels! Rebels in the worst kind of way! That one night changed everything! Forever! Years go by & Becca comes face to face with her past & reality hits her! Becca is forced to deal with the consequeces of her bad choices of her past!
Can she get past it? Can her heart be mended & healed after so many years ago?? This book is one that I will read again & again! I never do that so that says a lot! Another grand slam for Beth!! <3 <3
One of the things I love most about Beth Rinyu's stories - her masterful way of transforming me into the heroine - and no one more so than Becca! Whether star gazing or horseback riding or painting or falling in Love, I was right there with her. And Drew - how I Loved him and Hated him. And although the choices that were made and the consequences that resulted were devastating, the resulting story is just heartbreakingly beautiful. Full of unforeseen twists and turns, I could not put it down till I finished the amazing Epilogue! Another truly Incredible book by Beth.
"I prefer half-moons - There's just something about it, you know....kind of like it's looking for its other half to make it whole but still beautiful just the same."
Wow what a beautiful story! The twists and turns were heart breaking but it made it a really gripping story. Becca is perfect. Well atleast to her parents standards. She hasn't really lived life so when she meets Drew and falls in love, it was such a beautiful thing to read. She was finally doing something for herself. It's was such a tragedy that her first love had some heartbreak but even more tragic that she rebelled and it changed everything for her. As sad as it was she pulled through and was as tough as nails. Truly admirable how she handle everything and still kept on going. I was hooked throughout the whole thing. There was quite a bit if drama towards the end and a few things were predictable but I still Absolutely loved this whole story.
This book had me going through so many emotions. It had me happy, mad, sad, then happy again. I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next, and I didn't want it to end. I've loved all books by this author, but so far, this one is my favorite. It was a very unique story...not one that you're expecting. It has an awesome twist to it. I'm not sure if it was a good thing that I started reading it on my Disney vacation because I didn't want to put it down. Every second I got to myself I wanted to read it. I loved the main characters and pretty much just everything. I highly recommend it.
Oh my goodness! Such a page turner. This book will have you hooked. There are so many emotions, twists and turns. The author has written characters who you can relate too. Characters you fall in love with some you will hate with a passion. This author knows how to write a book with such deep emotions and she knows how to captivate your mind. I'm not writing any spoilers and I'm not giving any of the book away. If you love a book with deep emotions and such a brilliant story, READ THIS BOOK!! I would highly recommend this amazing story.
I love all of this author's books. I especially enjoyed this one because the storyline was so unique and I thought that the plot twist was brilliant. I like the way that it was done in two separate parts and that some past chapters were included in part two to give the reader more insight into the unanswered questions from part one.
I immediately connected with all of the characters, even then ones I didn't like. I thought that the epilogue was great and the perfect way to end the story.
I went into reading Blind Side of Love...blind. I did not know what the story was going to be about. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a touching story and it was sweet. I even cried a little. I fell in love with the characters. There was an unexpected twist (to me) and I am so glad I found this book. I will be sure to check out Beth Rinyus other work. If you want a book that will touch you and make you fall in love with the characters, I recommend Blind Side of Love.
Beth Rinyu never fails to make a wonderful story and this one was no different than her other books. Every word from this book touched my heart. It's not her typical "ugly cry yourself out" but there were moments that made me tear up. Overall though it was lighter than I expected because of the characters and it's definitely different than her other work. It's fresh and absolutely awesome!
I received this for an honest review. I have to say that this book really opens your eyes and shows you how love is seen with your heart rather than your eyes. This was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed Becca's story how she was blinded and overcame it to find the love of her life. It was an enjoyable read. This is was the first book I have read of Beth's and it definitely will not be my last...
The name was perfect for this book. I was blinded by the twist that came with the story . My emotions really got wrapped up in this story . Great Job and Ii think goodreads should add 10 stars at least for ratings cause this book was def a 10!
This book will definitely blind side you! I love books with unexpected turns and emotional twists that will pull at your heart. I fell in love with the characters . It was an amazing story and cannot wait for more from this author.
