When his wife, the one person who should obey him refuses to, Zoran discovers the battle for his heart’s desire is fiercer than any he has ever waged before. Could the conqueror become the conquered?
About the Series
The dragonshifting princes have no problem with commitment. In one night, they will meet and choose their life mate in a simplistic ceremony involving the removing of masks and the crushing of crystals. With very few words spoken and the shortest, most bizarre courtship in history, they will bond to their women forever. And once bonded, these men don’t let go... Too bad nobody explained this to their brides.

Pia Korbin is an assasin whose body has been burned over 60 percent during an explosion. After killing a man for trying to rape her, her only alternative to get away is signing up as a Galaxy Bride. During her trip to Quilixen she has reconstructive surgery. Even though she no longer has scars and looks beautiful, she feels ugly. When Zoran claims her as his bride and tells her he desires her ,she is convinced he is making fun of her. Having been an assasin she knows how to fight and does not like the restrictions put upon her by Zoran. Both h/h are strong and have quite a few misunderstandings. The emotional turmoil these two go through to finally find HEA is at times heartbreaking. While there were not alot of sex scenes, there was alot of sexual tension.
I'm not enjoying this series as much as I did the spinoff (Lords of the Var) and I think a lot of it has to do with the timeline of the books. So the series is written on a concurrent timeline which means that everything is really happening at the same time. For the story in each book this means that you'll see certain scenes again, have some plots overlap, and can see a scene from a few different points of view. I think that this is a good idea, and it can be interesting to see one scene from a different characters eyes or finally know what that other character was thinking at a particular moment. However, there have also been a few scenes that have been repeated in each book. I think some of them are almost identical and it's becoming a bit repetitive. I understand the timeline is happening at the same time and many of the characters met previously (on the galaxy ship for example, or the beginning of the bridal march) but do we really need to witness the same scene in each book? It's just becoming tedious.
It's not enough of an issue to stop me from continuing the series, but I didn't notice it as much in her Lords of the Var series. Perhaps because this one has more books in it that I'm noticing more similarities between them? Who knows? I'll continue to read because I want to know what happens with the rest of the family.
A story about the 4th prince of the Draig. This prince is also looking for love and finds it by forcing Pia, a girl who is running and thinks she is ugly and running from a murder, therefore has a body/face transformation that makes her yet more beautiful.
The princes have a way about seducing and he definitely puts it to Pia. She resists thinking that he could not really find her irresistable. After many, many things happening on the planet, they both come to realize they were made for each other. There are also plenty of hot, sexy scenes.
This book is a perfect ending to the Draig series. But there is more to learn in the next series, Lords of the Var--keep reading!
This is the last book in the Dragon Lords series that revolves around the princes. I did enjoy all the stories. One of the things that drove me crazy in every story was the repetition. Since all four books include the same days for the princes and their chosen brides, when all came together (princes/brides) you had the same verbiage through every book. It wasn't even altered a little bit to, for example....show the decorations of the coronation ceremony through each brides eyes. I also had some eye rolling moments over how each bride (so therefore each story) fought the marriage.
Well, it probably doesn't deserve it, but I'm giving it a 4. Why? Because I didn't feel compelled to go find things to do instead of reading it.
Ok... The Great Misunderstanding is not a trope anyone other than the authors seem to actually enjoy. This one takes it to frustrating levels because...the characters do actually talk to each other but they only sortof listen, and they fill in the blanks based strictly on their experience. That said, it's easy to see why when...
the h was severely injured as a teen and left with burn scars over 60% of her body. She ended up a galaxy bride in exchange for the surgery necessary to remove the scars because...she killed the son of a rather unsavory character in self defense and now has a bounty on her head. She has zero self esteem when it comes to her looks so assumes that a hot guy coming on to her is either playing a practical joke, or he's desperate.
The H is the commander of the draig soldiers and also a prince (now why he'd ever think she didn't find him attractive, I dunno, particularly in light of his musing of offworlder females flocking to him). He's used to barking out orders and is clueless on dealing with a female. He doesn't order her about so much as just...put her in a cage (his house) for safekeeping and go off to do his own thing. He, when she tells him of her past, picks up on the "she had no choice" part and pretty much ignores everything else.
So the character interactions were interesting, frustrating, amusing, etc. They did come to a far more believable understanding than the other three of this series. Well, I guess book 2 did ok.
Now...technically there are 8 of these books, but the other 4 do not intertwine with these 4. I have no idea if they intertwine with each other. Frankly though, the whole rehashing everything 4 times was about 3 too many.
And... I'd also add that the queen tells the h in this one that leaving the tent was a choice itself - a "no". Two of these women did leave the tent. Two of these women were dragged back. This one said "no" and was manipulated into removing the mask. This one knew she was conned and intended to complain to the rulers and council. The H prevented her from that.
This does not set well with me at all, and is likely why I will not bother with the other 4, because I do not want to read of 4 more women who were in hiding, and were denied the choice they supposedly have. Nor do I wish to read of them being pressed to get over it.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this extremely well-written, fascinating dragon shifter romance. The plot has outstanding world building with splendid scene descriptions & is quite intriguing with some very interesting, suspenseful situations. There are some character crossovers but this book can easily stand on its own although I would suggest reading the series in sequence to fully understand the underlying storyline. The characters are interesting with opposing personalities & are inclined to be quite confrontational but they entwine quite well with each other later on in the storyline. It is about: a strong-willed female assassin (Pia Corbin) who is badly scarred kills the mayor’s son for trying to rape her on a mafia-like planet (Rayvic) but she manages to escape & strikes a bargain with the “Galaxy Brides Ship” to help remove the scars & to change her appearance by becoming a bride. Pia finds herself on a barbarian planet (Qurilixian) where she is chosen as a bride by a warrior captain dragon shifter (Prince Zoran) but Pia is not very trustful & the battle for her heart begins while danger rears its ugly head. There is: Draigs (dragon shifters), Vars (cat shifters), rivalry, fated mates, adventure, action, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, drama, secrets, mystery, deceit, betrayal, devious plans, threats, danger, attacks, conflict, violence, vengeful feelings, insecurities, devastating memories, irritation, disbelief, confusion, suspicions, misunderstandings, complications, vulnerabilities, distrust, disagreements, defiance, attractions, blatant blackmail, determination, mischievousness, compromises, some discipline/ spanking, mild bondage, contentment, some steam & a hard-earned satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed reading this book & would recommend it.
These latest books in the series have been annoying me more than anything else and this one was no different.
I understand that Pia had some image issues due to her scars and those types of things can be embedded in your psyche, but goodness did she annoy me by continuously assuming that Zoran didn't find her attractive or that he was rejecting her.
All of their problems could have been fixed with COMMUNICATION.
The parts that are repeated from the previous books were done better before this point also.
And why do these people expect these women to get with the program quickly when they don't know anything about their culture. Then you have the audacity to be butt hurt when a woman may not like that she is married to a shifter. It's ridiculous.
I think Pia was hypocritical about sharing information and being open. She wanted Zoran to trust her enough to openly share what was going on but she wouldn’t share the whole truth about her own past when Zoran specifically asked her questions. I don’t think I’d be as trusting if I knew someone was keeping things from me. I understand that her past had nothing to do with the current situation but being honest about it when asked goes a long way to earning trust. Just because they got married doesn’t mean things are automatic. Everything is a two way street. If you want something you need to be able to give the same thing in return.
Excellent paranormal story in the Dragon Lords series. The characters of Zoran a Warrior Prince and a Pia. Pia is from the Galaxy Brides Corporation. She was a different person before she decided to sign up with Galaxy. There’s drama, misunderstandings, intrigue, suspense, mystery and romance. Great series of books. I received a complimentary copy of the book via Booksprout and chose to write this review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Pillow.
At the beginning I was more excited about this book than any of the other three because for once it seemed like were going to get a female mc that wasn't going to fight her marriage. In fact, Pia had fallen in love with the planet as soon as she stepped off the ship and was really hoping to find a husband there on the first planet she goes to. So imagine my surprise, and annoyance, when almost right away she's seeking divorce and trying to put distance between herself and Zoran. What happened to wanting to find her husband there!?
Pia has had a most unusual upbringing and it's not until the very end when we finally learn about it. When she was young, she was horribly disfigured when she suffered burns over 60% of her body. She still manages to survive using skills she already had learned, but when she kills the son of a very powerful and dangerous man in self defense, she knows she has to find a way to hide herself. And that's were Galaxy Brides comes in. They will pay for all of the surgeries to fix her entire body if she signs an exclusive contract with them. Seems like a win win. She'll be completely unrecognizable and will be very far away from those after her. With luck, maybe she'll even find a decent husband. But she never expected someone like Zoran.
Zoran is the commander of their armies and I have been waiting for his book since the first one. I love me a brooding warrior. Much like his brothers, Zoran knows immediately when he has found his mate. He's even more sure when he gets her back to his tent and she literally starts fighting him. When Pia refuses to remove his mask despite how much she obviously wants him, Zoran maybe kind of sort of forces her hand....and burns the mask when she tries to get him to put it back on. And the next morning he maybe sort of also forces her to break his crystal. Just maybe.
Really, these two made a very good couple. It's too bad it was so hard to get there. We got some really, really good times with these two together but there were too many times where they were pushing each other away. It was frustrating how it took almost the whole book for Pia to not deny it and get angry when Zoran called her beautiful. I mean, for crying out loud woman. I get it. You used to look horrifying. But you have goddamn mirrors and know you're not anymore. Get over it. Then you have the two of them assuming they know how the other feels for most of the book which causes huge misunderstanding after huge misunderstanding. If they would have just talked, even just once, everything would have been sooooo much better. Yes, they are both fighters, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't know how to use their words. I hate when authors draw out the drama like this when it's something that could easily be solved.
Pia doesn't have some crazy family or past that catches up to her like the last two did, so I feel more of the book was focused on the two of them. Which I liked. Mostly because with all of these happening at the same time I was really getting tired of reading the exact same scenes over and over and over again.
Zoran and Pia were my favorite couple so far, but honestly, I don't intend to read more of this series. I tire of reading every book having the female not wanting to be with her husband. Especially knowing that's exactly why they were brought there.
Warrior Prince By Michelle M Pillow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was given a copy to read and review. Michelle Pillow is one of my favorite aurthors to read. I adore her storyline they are fascinating, imaginative and lovable. Her characters are truly fantastic, sexy, individual yet keeps the series going. I couldn't stop reading until I finished. Sleep and food don't matter, just give me a comfortable seat and place. Then I open Michelle's book and I'm in a world I enjoy!
This is my favorite couple I was sure of how Pia is so humble about her appearance to the point she vehemently denies being attractive (although that did get a little old after 200 pages of people telling her she was attractive but I do understand her perspective). She is very self assured in her combat skills but she feels useless to Zoran because he doesn't seem to value her skills or opinion. Also, Zoran is so ready to lay the world at Pia's feet but she is so unsure of herself and Zoran that she doesn't trust her feelings for him and constantly pushes him away. This book has some really great sexual tension and verbal sparring between the main characters. I really enjoyed seeing how Pia and Zoran circled each other before finally opening up their feelings.
The fourth installment in the Dragon Lords series centers around Pia Korbin and Zoran of Draig. Pia is an assassin with burns covering most of her body. Forced on the run for killing in self defense, she goes to the Galaxy Brides Corporation for free surgery in exchange for being a bride. After intensive surgery that removes her scars she participates in the Breeding Festival on planet Qurilixen where women are few and warrior men abound. She is chosen as a bride by Zoran of Draig, the second son of the King and Captain of the guard.
Another Prince I fell in love with and I can't wait to read the next Book from Michelle! I recommend this book I really really enjoyed
I'm continuing my revisit of the Dragon Lord princes with these new extended additions and wow I'd forgotten just what fun they are. Four books that all interconnect but each time the reader is treated to a different point of view. This particular book brings us face to face with Zoran the commander and probably my favourite prince. He is loud, ruthless, always in charge and about to meet his match! Pia is on the run and needs to disappear but with her looks? Hmm maybe not that easy or is it? With a little help from Galaxy Brides and their medical tech perhaps anonymity is possible. Pia will always see herself as scarred though and doesn't expect to be chosen but Zoran has no doubts she belongs to him. Oh Pia I felt for you, truly feeling unworthy and so distrustful but luckily there's a certain warrior who will stand firm and it was wonderful to read how the relationship developed into something both passionate and loving. Expect fireworks though before this couple reach their happy ending. Yes these books form a wider picture when read in order but they can each be read as a standalone . Finally learning the softer side of Zoran was a huge treat as he is such a tough stoic character but it's Pia who stole the show as it were. It's impossible not to want her to find happiness after the life she's had and maybe at times she's a little too harsh on both herself and Zoran but Ms Pillow finds a way to let them both shine. A delicious romance and recommended for lovers of paranormal romance I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review
I’ve been anxiously awaiting this final Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition to be released because I’ve been DYING to leave a review for it! I received it as an ARC for my honest review and I have to tell ya, you do NOT want to miss this! If you are new to the series or have read them before it does NOT MATTER! You WILL want to read them all! The first ones were good but these new edited and expanded Anniversary editions? SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pia and Zoran have issues like any couple but are able to blast through them as well as dealing with trouble from several fronts. Their methods of dealing with these troubles bring them closer together. At times you’ll want to cry with them, smack them, and love them! I really love how each of the stories works together but are independent of each other and quite unique!
It's always hard to decide which of the books in this series is the best; especially when each installment seems to be better than the previous. in this book you finally get to see what Zoran is like behind the gruff and stoic demeanor he shows to the rest of the world. Pia, too, is far from one dimensional. I think her story is the saddest of the heroines in the series. The interaction between her and Zoran keeps both characters, along with a few others, on their toes. The storyline is different enough from the previous books to keep you involved instead of skimming the parts that cross-over. I think the story is best read at a leisurely pace too, you won't want to risk missing anything. I believe that this book is the best of the series to serve as a standalone and you definitely can't go wrong purchasing it.
*a copy of this book was received in exchange for an honest review*
MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES... I LOVE THIS SERIES and I love this book and this warrior may be my favorite but oh my I just cannot choose.. they are all so yummy.. The auther does relive thru each book but it is a must with each bride since they do share many of the same issues but on different level and in differnt views so you will not be disappointed... Zoran is my favorite and I love his animalistic character... he is just etible.. I WISH THE AUTHOR would come up with a continuation book on the four princes and their kids and wives,, I know there are lots of issues, all that stuff you know...... and the great sex... cannot forget that either...
I would LOVE Michelle to follow up on these characters....
Another Prince bites the dust! Prince Zoran, Commander of the Guard may be a hard a**, but he is about to meet his match.
Pia is a very scarred girl, full of hatred for herself, now she finds herself with this husband who keeps telling her she is beautiful , but she knows better. No man that handsome and sexy could want her, but she will not let him pity her.
So the battle for dominance begins, who will give in to the will of the other?
Prince Zoran may be the big bad Draig, but he has the softest heart and his feelings are much more sensitive than his brothers. I absolutely loved him!
From the beginning of the series i knew I'd love Pia's story. I feel the most connected with her and share some of the same traits. Her story with Prince Zoran is one filled with insecurities and vulnerabilities. Hope for change and discovery. Pia is such a wonderful character and I was so happy to see her happy and loved unconditionally. The epilogue was amazing as well. I'm happy i discovered the series and yet a little sad it has ended. It will be a book I re-read often.
Pia and Zoran’s story is one with lots of ups and downs. It’s emotional, and intense, and I really, really enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s a great entry in the Dragon Lords series, and one I’d definitely recommend it to series readers. Warrior Prince is especially intriguing as this is book four in the series and some of the events are shown for yet another time from more viewpoints, but in Pia’s eyes nothing really seems the same. New perspectives on the Galaxy Brides and the brides’ contracts are explored in this story, and Pia’s past and her struggle to accept Zoran’s feelings for her are intensely sympathetic, yet none of that overwhelms or overshadows Zoran’s side of the story. There’s a lot of physical back and forth between the hero and heroine, not just sexual, but in a physical conflict fashion, and Zoran’s actions at some point take away some of Pia’s choice in things. While other books in this series have mentioned the barbarian nature of the Draig and have included some scenes of capture and imprisonment of the heroines, some or Zoran’s actions did skew in a more objectionable way, in my mind, and I suspect some reader might find these elements difficult to reconcile in a romance novel. That said, all the actions taken by the characters really do seem to fit those characters in a lot of ways, and there is absolutely no doubt that affection and physical desire grow between Pia and Zoran. There’s a lot of emotional conflict (both personal and between the characters) and some gulfs of custom that both must come to terms with, and in some ways Warrior Prince is the deepest of the Dragon Lords novels I’ve read so far. It wraps up the first four stories in the series nicely, and just for that would be best enjoyed by those who are familiar with the entire series, though it would no doubt be enjoyed by those who haven’t had the pleasure as well. Happily, even though this book is about the final prince finding his bride, Pillow does have several more Dragon Lord books that I’m very much looking forward to reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WARRIOR PRINCE is Prince Zoran's story and the fourth installment in the Dragon Lord series in the on-going Qurilixen World Novels by Michelle Pillow. This story can be read as a standalone full-length, shifter romance with a sexy alpha male and defiant female. There's not much "action" but plenty of steamy scenarios. The Dragon Lords installments take place simultaneously, starting with the Breeding Festival as each prince finds and wins their destined mate.
Prince Zoran is Captain of the Guard and Commander of the Draig military he knows how to command obedience and win battles. He's found his mate but can he win her love and devotion? Not everyone is destined to obey his every command and this could be a battle he loses.
Pia was raised to be an Assassin and with a body disfigured and scarred no one ever notices this assassin until it's too late. Forced to change her looks and flee the Galaxy Pia signs up on a bride ship. She is positive no one will want a bride as ugly she is. Thus starts the battle of wills between these two strong willed and determined people.
Each story in the series can be read as a stand alone story, but so much better read in their order.
I look forward to the rest of the Qurilixen World love stories. I recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes fantasy romance on an intergalactic planet and some steamy and fun reading.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Pia Korbin, is on the run! She was an assassin and whilst on a job she attracted the slimy attention of the mayors son. After being forced to kill him when he attempted to rape her, she runs and escapes on the Galaxy Brides Ship.
Her body had been burned, over 60% of it, during an explosion whilst escaping her home planet. During her trip to Quilixen she has been given extensive reconstructive surgery. Even though she no longer has the scars, she still feels ugly and unworthy.
When Zoran claims her as his bride, she is convinced he is making fun of her. She hates the rules that he tried to have her abide by. She wants her freedom!!! There ensues a struggle for the upper hand.
Both are strong and forceful personalities and there are more than a few misunderstandings. There is a breakdown in their self imposed barriers and the HEA was just perfect. While there were not a lot of sex scenes, there was a lot of sexual tension. The love scenes are forceful and there is BDSM like scenarios but they are not forced and are very much consensual!!!
I loved this series and seeing the story evolving from the differing points of view of the heroines was fantastic. No spoilers but I loved the multi HEA in the epilogue!
I enjoyed this virgin, alien-human, arranged marriage romance with a side of danger. It was a good mix of sweet, spicy, danger, painful pasts, and real life issues. Pia has spent the majority of her life badly disfigured due to burn scars. She knows how to fight and protect herself. Knowing that her scars make her easy to identify and running for her life, she agrees to become one of the alien brides shipped to Qurilixian in exchange for surgery to remove her scars. Zoran is a Qurilixian dragon shifter, a prince, and the captain of the guard. He has followed all the customs of his planet and felt like when his pendant glowed the Gods had chosen the perfect wife for him in Pia. Unfortunately, Pia’s painful past influences the way she sees herself and she believes Zoran does not really want to be married to her. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Pia. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. To get to their HEA, Pia and Zoran will have to deal with the cultural differences, misunderstandings, and secrets along with baggage unpacking, and life course correction in the midst of dealing with danger.
Having read several of the four Dragon Prince brothers, this is Zoran, second son of the King, Commander of the Draig military and Captain of the Guard’s story. Although there are glimpses of each character in the other Prince brothers books; this particular story is from our main characters point of view: Zoran & Pia Korbin. It truly is amazing to gain the background from each main character and why they acted the way they did in the other brother’s parallel stories. Yes parallel. Each Dragon Prince starts with their soon-to-be-bride and how they came to the Dragon’s planet, Qurilixen. We learn what happens as the same events unfold in each story. Again its focus is the perspective of those characters. I do like this method. This series makes each book a standalone. We learn a lot about the character dynamics in the same sequence of events. I enjoyed reading about Pia and Zoran. Of course I loved the ending. There is humor there as well as a lot of strife and drama.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Plus it was so good I had bought a copy.
Well, this is the 4th & last book with the dragon princes. This is still a must read but oh my goodness, Pia drove me insane. She is definitely my least favorite princess (I do still like her it just took time) but ironically, Zoran is my favorite prince. Zoran is definitely the fiercest brother but he has a heart of gold & my heart as well. Michelle M Pillow is still very much a beloved author. Spoilers next: I can understand Pia being a little self conscious at first but she literally had surgery that made her pretty. Her constantly thinking people are making fun of her or that Zoran wouldn't really want her as his wife just drove me nuts. I mean didn't she ever look in a mirror or anything? Not to mention the old adage beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Pia is also hypocritical when it comes to being open & honest. Her only saving grace for me was that she has no fear fighting, or trying to, her giant Draig husband & her weapon skills. Zoran makes my heart smile just with the fact that he has such little knowledge of what women like and need. Him pulling women off the street just to buy Pia things due to his lack of knowledge was so hysterical & heartwarming.
Have to admit that I didn't like Pia. She makes an expensive deal with Galaxy Brides and then attempts to get out of it on the first try, as if she hadn't signed a contract! It's a shame Zoran didn't want to give her up. But then that's the plot with major angst, sooo....
Initially, she accepted her choices and was prepared to go ahead and be chosen as a wife to a stranger, and yes, she has self-image issues (understandably), which makes me think she'd never have accepted ANY groom from any planet, tbh.
Her behaviour towards Zoren from the get-go put me off reading past her getting annoyed when he concentrated on important paperwork instead of paying full attention to a usually uninterested and suspicious wife. Why should he fawn all over Pia just to be constantly kicked in the metaphorical family jewels?
Also, in the earlier incident when the queen visited, Pia made no effort to admit she sheared her own hair, leaving Zoran in the shit with his parents and his people, bugged me too.
Grooms who want to find a wife. Brides who don't really want to, but decide to do so- then take it out on the grooms. *sigh* It's better when you can actually like BOTH main characters.
