📕Title: " Away With Shadows "

✍️Author : M.M. Skye

📚Review : Away With Shadows by M.M. Skye is a refined contemporary romance that blends emotional depth, Southern charm, and quiet resilience into a deeply satisfying love story. Centered on Sharon Gable, a successful interior designer determined to guard her heart after betrayal, the novel explores what happens when love appears precisely when one believes they are done believing in it.

Skye skillfully develops Sharon and Bradley DuPont as layered, believable characters shaped by past disappointments and present responsibilities. Sharon’s resolve to prioritize independence and career feels authentic, while Bradley’s struggle between family duty and personal desire adds emotional tension. Their connection unfolds naturally, grounded in shared vulnerability rather than instant fantasy, making their growing bond all the more compelling.

What elevates this novel is its balance of romance and conflict. External forces threaten to unravel the couple’s fragile happiness, adding suspense without overshadowing the emotional core of the story. The settings—from Columbia, South Carolina to Paris—are vividly rendered, enhancing the novel’s sense of atmosphere and escape.

For readers who enjoy heartfelt contemporary romance with mature characters, emotional honesty, and a hopeful message about second chances, Away With Shadows is a rewarding and highly recommended read.

Sharon was a lonely woman looking for love, but she refused to be betrayed by another man again. Then came Bradley. Instantly they share a bond and spiritual connection.

This was a nice, sweet, and sentimental story. I wasn’t too keen on all the religious stuff, but I could surely appreciate the goodness of these characters. The pace, in general, was rather slow and unappealing. A good chunk of the story centered around the grandpa’s funeral, which, of course, involved the church. The best part were the highs and lows of two people trying to find a romantic connection while dealing with their emotional baggage.

Overall, this was a fairly nice romance.

This story is so relatable, the chemistry between the two main characters will make you fall in love with them. I especially liked how the strength of Sharon and the love of Bradley for her made it hard for me to put the book down. This story line is a good description of how southern love, redemption and good humor can make someone feel hopeful about love and romance. I loved this book. Can’t wait for the next one.
