Rate this book
Orphaned at a young age, Hazel’s beloved Aunt Claire is the only parent she knows. Never mind her thoughts on her aunt’s terrible taste in men, until Aunt Claire marries Rob, an abusive creep who financially traps the two of them and begins looking at Hazel in a way that makes her skin crawl. But when Hazel falls mysteriously ill and her best friend Molly is attacked by a wild animal, she finds she has bigger issues to worry about than avoiding Rob’s notice.

Stranger yet, are the two young men who suddenly insert themselves into Hazel’s life during the onslaught of her illness; half-feral Caden and a long-lost childhood friend named David.

In a blink, Hazel’s life turns upside down. She has always been content with not standing out. Now she has to cope with becoming a part of an underground society of Shifters. Pursued, terrified, and desperate, Hazel must discover her place in this new world of packs, alphas, love, and revenge while fighting to protect everything and everyone she loves.

LOVE! Loved every second! I read this book after a very long 12book series. And I was scared for the next book I read. But this one had me sucked in from the start! I have a hard time getting into a new story when starting a new book/series. But this author kept me interested…I actually read 90% of this book in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also this is the authors FIRST BOOK! I’m so excited for the next book and what this author has for us next. And I can’t wait to see what Hazel will do next!

My booktok girlies…show our new indie author some love and go read this book you’ll love it! 🖤

I absolutely devoured this book and cannot wait for the next! Katlyn does a beautiful job of character development with a vast number of characters that will make you feel something. This book is fast paced and yet somehow doesn't feel rushed. Love love love it and need more!

Love the little bit of yearning without the spice in this one which makes it more appropriate for younger readers too :)

I enjoyed this book that puts a spin on the (spoiler) werewolf theme. The characters are well done and you'll root for the main character, Hazel, who finds herself navigating a new life and new love. The book ends with a promise of more and I'm sure other readers will eagerly anticipate what comes next.

Had zero expectation when I discovered this book and Katlyn. Stumbled upon both in a local coffee shop, grabbed a Kindle sample and immediately started smiling as I read. It resonated. It was fun. Not overly crafted. Emotion Evoking, but not egregiously. The kind of book I give my daughter and we read it together and talk about the characters and plot. Really strong first drop for Katlyn.

This book definitely had me on my toes the majority of the time. At first I thought it was overly detailed and dragged a bit, but man was I wrong, it was keeping on edge once it kept going. I think this was great for her first book, and I really hope there is a second part coming.
