Windsor Peak #4

Forever Home

JJ Monahan has been in love with Zoe for months.

As Windsor Peak's sheriff, he's used to being patient. Waiting for the right moment. Playing it safe.
He was content with the friends-with-benefits situation he had going, thinking Zoe will eventaully admit her real feelings. But when he realizes Zoe's never going to—he makes the boldest move of his life.
He proposes. In front of all their friends. And somehow, she says yes.

Zoe never planned to stay in Windsor Peak.

She came to escape a vindictive boss and a mother who's spent years tearing her down. She planned to keep her head down, work at the local restaurant, and disappear before anyone got too close.
Then she discovered she has a half-sister in town. And suddenly, Zoe has family. Friends. A place that feels like home.
And JJ—her best friend, her safe place—who just shocked her into saying "I do."
But saying yes to marriage and saying yes to love are two very different things.

JJ knows Zoe married him out of shock, not as an admission of love. He's willing to wait. To prove he's not going anywhere. To show her that Windsor Peak—and he—are worth staying for.

Then Zoe's mother arrives in town. Determined to drag Zoe back into the life she escaped, her mother's presence threatens to unravel everything. The fragile trust Zoe's built. The friendships she's finally allowed herself to have. And the marriage she's only just beginning to believe in.

JJ has spent his career protecting people. Now he has to protect Zoe's heart—from her past, from her fears, and from the voice in her head that says she doesn't deserve this.

But when danger strikes too close to home, Zoe realizes that some risks are worth taking—and some people are worth fighting for.

Can JJ prove he's worth the risk? And can Zoe finally stop running long enough to realize she's already home?

A heartwarming small-town friends-to-lovers romance about finding family, facing your past, and learning that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stay.

Perfect for fans of Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber—a closed-door romance with found family, emotional depth, and a guaranteed HEA.

If you love slow-burn romance, small-town charm, and characters who earn their happy endings, this one’s for you! ♥️💌

Forever Home is all about JJ and Zoe, their slow-burning, two-year courtship, and the emotional journey of opening up to love when you’ve spent so long guarding your heart. 🫶

JJ is patient, steady, and exactly the kind of man who knows that love isn’t about rushing—it’s about showing up, again and again, until the person you love realizes they’re safe with you. 🥰

And Zoe? Watching her let down her walls and start believing in the possibility of a happy ending was so rewarding. Their romance isn’t just about passion; it’s about trust, growth, and the quiet moments that mean everything. 💘🏡

This is book 4 in the totally unputdownable small-town romance series set in Windsor Peak, Vermont. Originally about the 3 Burrows brothers who are all now coupled up, the series moves onto other main characters, this book being about JJ, the police officer who runs the towns policing; and Zoe, the chef at Windsor Peak Palace.

JJ loves Zoe and has done it since day 1, but he's trying to break down Zoe's defences. Zoe is Emma's half sister, and now that Emma is dating Patrick Burrows, a well-known movie star, Emma wants the best for Zoe.

This book is a bit darker than the rest, but I like how the author introduces the couple to feature in the next book before the end of the book.

I absolutely love this series, each story being a standalone story about a couple; however, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.

The next book is a novella, then another full-length book, which will feature Natalie, one of Patrick's co-stars and Mike, the trainer who lives in Windsor Peak, who is captivated by Natalie.

From the moment I first met JJ I had a special place for him, even though he wasn’t a main character in previous books, and only mentioned briefly, I loved his energy and his expression of feelings toward Zoe the chef, who’s character has slowly built over the series.

Now in this book we get to see their relationship flourish and grow. JJ is the sweetest in organising a surprise engagement and wedding for Zoe and I still find it humorous that she is unaware of her feelings when everyone else can see how much she loves him and he her.

Seeing Zoe self reflect on her feelings while sitting at JJ’s bedside waiting for him to wake up was quite moving, learning her past and how she over came it. The twist with Colin was genius and I loved that by extension with Colin a part of JJ helped her in Paris when she needed it most.

A beautiful book, with not one, but two amazing g weddings. I can’t wait for more.

Lovely Love Story

I really enjoyed this fourth Windsor Peak book. The only drawback was the amount of errors in it and that kind of made it lose its luster for me. However, I will continue with the series because these characters are so interesting.
