Deadpool takes on a mission to Antarctica, where he finds himself face to face with Sasquatch (Walter Langkowski) of Alpha Flight!! After swindling some Girl Scouts, Deadpool takes on another "easy" mission -- taking out an unmanned research station. Simple, right? Unfortunately, it's not only very manned...but also brimming with gamma radiation!

A fantastic first monthly! Ack! I am so excited to finally BE here! I love how it begins with a taste of what is to become a famous quality of Deadpool's: his narration. You can tell his character isn't aware of his fictionality yet, but you can also tell how this inspired that. I'm trying to pay attention to authors ... I liked Mike (Mark? I'm so bad at this) Waid's story in Circle Chase. A lot. This feels like it might be right up there with that.
Might I just say, I love that through reading all of these Deadpool and Deadpool related comics, I've been introduced to a fair few Canadian superheroes. I didn't know Wolverine was Canadian ... and now this Sasquatch dude. He kinda makes me go "mmm," except ... there are SO many freakin' blondes in these comics. Definitely refer seeing Deadpool as Ryan Reynolds. I read a few of the more recent comics a few years ago, and even then I hadn't pictured him as blonde out of costume. Eh, I think they're fixing the blondeness of comics nowadays ANYway, so that's all I'll say about THAT.
All that said ... I want more Siryn. I know she's coming. I can feel it (and Rhiannon has hinted about it to me). I'm really enjoying the two characters together. I'm very interested in seeing that develop.
