Within Fields and Flowers was such a cute small town vibe with added spice I was not expecting! While I am usually not a fan of miscommunication in a book, I absolutely enjoyed the chemistry and backstory of Charlotte & Dallas! The banter and spice was a big win for me!! Overall 4 star read and highly recommend!

This was such a cute book. It had so many tropes I love including small town, second chance romance, slight enemies to lovers in the beginning, great banter, a fun and bubbly best friend, and some pretty good spice too! But this book also has a more vulnerable side to it too, with the main character Charlotte also working through her grief after losing her father. The emotions throughout the book felt very real and the characters were well thought out and developed.

You could definitely feel the connection between the love interests Charlotte and Dallas. They were originally high school sweethearts who broke up the summer before she left for college. Eight years later Charlotte finds herself back in her hometown. After her father’s death she inherited the family farm. With the goal of cleaning out the house to sell it and get back to her corporate life in the city, everything starts to change when Dallas begins inserting himself back into her life, and she uncovers the truth of what happened all those years ago when they broke up.

The relationship in this story moves pretty quickly. There’s definitely no slow burn here. But it actually makes sense because Charlotte and Dallas already have a history together. There are moments in the story where it does still feel like very young love though. Like one minute Charlotte is angry and hates Dallas and then next thing you know they're all better and getting it on. So I think this is an example of one of those passionate relationships that feels all the emotions very strongly, both negative and positive. I think we’ve all been in one of those relationships before.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story. It kept me entertained the whole way through. Definitely worth the read.

I received a gifted copy of this book from the author. I am voluntarily giving my honest review.

This started off pretty sweet and had a very cozy feel. I was enjoying for the most part. Right up until they started having sex. The dynamic between Charlotte and Dallas was good. The chemistry was written in enough. It did seem a bit stilted and it moved far too fast than you'd expect. Despite it being a fairly short book (under 300 pages), it definitely needed a little bit slower of a burn.

But as soon as they got physical, that's when it became painful to read. There was no indication that it was going to happen, but apparently Dallas needed Charlotte to refer to him as 'sir.' Enough that he demanded it out of her. They did not use a condom. Charlotte had been celibate the entire time of their 8 year separation and Dallas claimed the same thing.

Anyway, these two 'adults' don't speak to each other. There's no communication. It started as a slightly cozy second chance romance and devolved into a weird smut, miscommunication mess. Overall, just not for me.

Within Fields and Flowers by Elisabeth Rose.

Review:

The book “ Within Fields and Flowers” by Elisabeth Rose is the perfect example of small town Romance with a hint of spice. The story revolves around Charlotte who returns home after the loss of her father only to find herself facing an old love that may not be finished.

What I loved about this story is how beautifully the author captures the depth of emotions after loss and coping with how to move on. The comfort of returning home to the never changing small town she tried to evade. The chemistry between the characters was palpable and left me turning each page rooting for their chance at rekindling their friendship and love for one another.

The autumn vibes set the peaceful tone to this story that made me think of a blissful world that I always love to dive into.

The spice between the characters is sweet, yet sizzling. Wholesome and wild.

I cannot wait to see what is next!

-second chance love, small town charm, and fall vibes is the perfect combination.

Charlotte & Dallas, they are a storm to be reckon with. The banter between the two was pure gold!! They both knew how to get under each other skins to give you a sense of familiarity between the two. The way that Lottie dealt with the grief of losing a parent was handled beautifully. The memories we would get of her and her dad was beautifully done. I cried during this, because being a daddy’s girl I could not imagine, but then to find a letter!!AHHH break my heart!

I will say this does have a miscommunication trope, so if that is something you do not like, just be prepared. Even with that trope it was still a great book, it was the development of how it was handled made it worth it. The growth for both Lottie and Dallas to have to admit things within themselves to be able to move forward.

I loved Del! I am ready to see or know what happens with her story because it was set up in this book!

I would recommend this if you love a second chance romance, small town, fall, pumpkins!

This book is a solid 5/5 stars for me. I was truly captivated by the beginning. I really loved both the main characters. Their tension and banter is what drew me in but Dallas' tenderness is what made me stay. I loved the character development from our MFC she was really relatable from the very beginning. I loved her relationship with her bestie and felt like I have a similar relationship with my best friend. Only thing I wish the book had was more, if that makes sense. I mean more of everything, more spicy scenes, more banter just more. I cannot wait for the next book by this author I know she's gonna bring even more to the table than she already has. I believe Elisabeth has found her calling and I'm confident that she is only going to keep impressing us and improving on her craft! This book was such a quick easy read! I really enjoyed every moment of it and can't wait for book two because I know whatever happened at the reception is just gonna bring us more to come!!

A cute second chance romance story that takes place in small town Crooked River.

All the right tropes were there, the characters were likable and relatable, and the setting was perfect. I just wish that the author would have fleshed about the book a little bit more. I personally would have liked to see a little bit more angst from both Charlotte and Dallas before they hooked up. I especially would have liked the ending to be fleshed out more. Both characters went from ‘I hate you go away’ to ‘I love you please don’t leave’ in an almost unrealistic amount of time. And while I know it’s just a book and it’s fiction, that took me out of the world of Crooked River.

Overall, I did have a lot of fun reading the story and exploring the world of Crooked River, I just would have liked more details.

Let me start by saying this was an emotional rollercoaster. This was a lighter rom-com/cowboy romance with spice. It really hit all the feels reminiscent of (insert popular card/TV channel here).

Elisabeth Rose beautifully captured the ups and downs of early adulthood. Her descriptions and emotions demand your attention, and place you directly in the story.

This was a wonderful read, and I am excited to see how this world continues in this interconnected standalone series.

"This book is proof you can." 🥰

You had me at Dirty chai latte. That's my favorite go to starbies drink. I felt a lot of emotions while reading this book and almost cried a few times. I could feel the pain and relate to the loss of Charlotte's father as I too lost mine to cancer. I enjoyed the relationship between Charlotte and Dallas as it unfolded between memories of their past and present and even laughed more than a few times at the playful banter. This book while not extremely plot heavy still had a good flow to it and Lord the spicyness. I was blushing reading certain parts. I would definitely recommend this book .

Hallmark fans, this is a story for you. Such an adorable small town romance! I loved Charlotte and Dallas’s banter and growth throughout the book. Being high school sweethearts and coming back together as adults was exactly what they needed as they matured and grew. Definitely a tale of how miscommunications and not hearing your partner out can make or break a relationship. I can’t wait to read more from this series!

Charlotte and Dallas are such an intricate and deep couple. Their history adds such depth to their story, and makes their reunion all the better. I often don’t like miscommunication tropes, but Elisabeth did it so well here that it was essential to Dallas and Charlotte’s growth. It showed them that no matter what happens, they’ll always find their way back to each other and can work everything out as long as they are together. I can’t wait to see more of them in future books, and I also can’t wait to find out what happens with Delaney and Garrett. Small town romances are some of my favorite books, and I was absolutely not disappointed in this one. Perfect fall read, but can be read anytime and still be loved. I’m so thankful I got to pick this one up, especially before its release 🫶🏼
