The New Warriors were one of the most exciting young hero teams of the late 80s and early 90s, and this omnibus focuses on two of their biggest breakout stars - Nova and Night Thrasher!
As the Warriors’ old enemies, the Folding Circle, make moves in Madripoor, colliding with a crimelord named Aardwolf, Night Thrasher and his lover, Silhouette, find themselves in the middle! Thrasher comes to deadly blows with his own brother, teams up with the Black Panther and, with help from Rage, faces the fury of the Hulk! Meanwhile, Nova rockets into action against foes old and new — including grudge rematches with the Corruptor and Diamondhead! Nova fights alongside the Thing, She-Hulk and Ant-Man — and is recruited by Nick Fury for a space mission that puts him at odds with the Inhumans! Plus: Thrasher and Nova share team-ups with Spider-Man! Darkhawk fights alongside the New Warriors! And Ultra-Girl makes her dazzling debut!

Fabian Nicieza is a writer and editor who is best known as the co-creator of DEADPOOL and for his work on Marvel titles such as X-Men, X-Force, New Warriors, and Robin.
His first novel, the Edgar Award-nominated SUBURBAN DICKS, a sarcastic murder mystery, is on sale now from Putnam Books.
The Dicks will return in THE SELF-MADE WIDOW, coming June 21st.
The final, what I assume will be the New Warriors Omnibus, is more side stories than anything.
The first part of this is a massive team-up with Spidey. It's mostly Nova and Spidey team-up, but eventually Night Thrasher and the gang join in. It's a big crossover; I covered some of it in the Spidey Omnibus, and it's a decent fun time.
Then we get the Night Thrasher solo series. It's solid. It has a lot of good moments for the characters and feels most in spirit to the original New Warriors. The problem is the first half is very strong; the second half is just okay. When we veer a lot more into crossovers with other heroes, it feels weaker.
Then we get Nova's solo series from the '90s, and while I like the first 8 or so issues, the last half is pretty bad—some of it awful.
We leave off with another Spidey team-up crossover that's okay, and then the Ultra Girl mini-series teaming up with the New Warriors; it's whatever.
Overall, there are some hidden gems here or there, but this is mostly skippable. Only buy this if you're a die-hard fan of Night Thrasher and Nova, but even then, this isn't the best material. A 2 out of 5.
None of the stories in here hit the heights the main New Warriors series did, but there's a lot of fun and yelling and explosions and tough-guy posturing. The parts Nicieza didn't write (except the Round Robin story) are skimmable, and all of it's a decent sweep over the action teens of the 90s.
