Grace Weston left a loving stable home and family to follow her heart. And with her parents disowning her for running off and leaving a bright future behind. At only twenty, she is utterly alone. Apart from the man who has taken a severe nosedive in the boyfriend department. Convincing herself her part time work and art is all she needs, she ignores the bad (Joel), and gets on with it. But her street angel just turned house devil. When she feels true fear at the hands of Joel for the first time in the tiny movable house she calls a home, she needs to leave. Right now.
Mackinlay Rawlins is the good guy, the everyman, solider, hero, big brother, little bro and beloved son. And he his life was just flipped upside down in the worst way possible. Forced back to the ranch on medical discharge, life is difficult. His mobility is limited, his pain too much. Being around his happy, upbeat family is the last place he wants to be. A live-in nanny? Absolutely not. Doesn't matter how many times Ma calls her the housekeeper. She goes, just like the last three. Now, he's stuck on repeat of the worst day of his life, desperate for a way out.
4.75⭐️ | 3.75🌶 the most emotional and by far my favourite in the series! I loved it! Mack and Grace. They were literally everything. The deep dark holes they pulled themselves and each other out of. Their journey to peace, healing and safety both as separate individuals and together as one. My heart shattered reading this beautiful book. The Rawlinses were everything. Harry just keeps growing on me (he wasn't my favourite in Huddo's book iykyk). Now, Grace's parents... detested her dad. but her mother. Oh I wish I could hug her. I wish I could hug everyone. I want to be a Rawlins at this point. So ready for Harry & Louisa. Thank you to Alex for the arc.
Okay, Mack is now ranked near the top of book boyfriends. Mack is a soldier that was honorably discharged after a mission he was on went sideways. He's home now and broken, physically and mentally. He hates being hurt and needing help. Grace is a young woman that has left a terrible relationship and is trying to make it on her own. She comes to work for the Rawlings as Mack's live in house keeper and carer. Mack does everything he can to prove she's not needed. Along the way, they become friends that turn into more. When her past comes back into her life, Mack and family do all they can to love and support her. This story showed how important your mental health is and learning to love and trust others.
-First and foremost, I disliked the beginning. It didn’t feel like Joel was actively trying to keep Grace around. Then again, I know it’s difficult to leave those situations but it didn’t feel realistic. That being said, the whole book felt entirely unrealistic. Grace was hired without anything. Just looking a little lost and sad was enough for them to think she would be perfect for the job. Even for being an arts teacher, she cannot be overqualified if she ain’t got no experience or a degree? I couldn’t get over just how unrealistic everything was. I won’t say every detail I found so, but it really just took me out of the story. I don’t need books to be 100% accurate or anything even remotely close but this was just so out of it that I couldn’t love passed it.
-The characters themselves were alright, but everything goes back to how unrealistic everything was, in their attitudes or reactions. Grace really switched from one type of character to another. Also, the couple got together not even 40% for the way in and the just banged for the rest of the book with a few cringey scenes in between. All of the spice scenes were unnecessary and since they were together for the entirety of the book it just got a bit boring and repetitive. Although I have to say it was nice seeing characters I already knew but sometimes it felt forced how they were added into scenes. They don’t have to be there all of the time.
-There were two or three major elements in the ending and they were all quite predictable. From the ex boyfriend to the family it was expected for a romance book like this. I don’t have much else to say about the ending where I won’t repeat myself.
Every once in a while, cowboy romance was exactly what I needed and this book delivered that beautifully. I loved the ranch setting, the daily routine in a cowboy's life, and the overall vibes of living on a farm made it pretty easy to imagine what it was like to be there, both mentally and physically. The main couple, Grace and Mack, took a very long time to finally open up to each other after enduring their dark pasts and overcoming their deepest fear when it came to relationship building and trusting others. It was indeed a touching moment to see them melt the other's heart at the end of the book. However, though this book was quite a delight to read, somehow I found myself drifting away several times in the middle of it and couldn't possibly continue reading it in one sitting. It seemed to lack some sparks among the characters and I kept wishing the story could pick up eventually, which never happened. That being said, Rosewood Ranch series was still an enjoyable cowboy romance so if you liked this subgenre, I'd still recommend it!
***Thanks to the author for kindly providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
My cowboy era is still going strong and I found a new favorite book and reason of existing!
Saving Grace is a cowboy romance in the Rosewood Ranch series following Grace and Mack, respectively a young woman escaping from a very dangerous man, and a soldier gravely injured in war. In her escape, Grace finds safe refuge at the ranch by working for Mack. Things between them don’t start off too great, but together they learn to heal.
This was one of the. Most beautiful. Healing journeys. I have ever read. My heart was beating out of my chest, my eyes were flying across the pages. I have fallen deeply in love with Mack and Grace as characters and as a couple, and I adored the Rawlins family so much that you bet I dove into the first of the other two books in the series. I need to read about my darling Rawlins brothers. (Spoiler alert: I’m loving Huddo and Addy in Tough Love as much as I loved Mack and Grace here!) When I tell you I was giggling with anticipation for my sister to start Saving Grace too, and now we’re both addicted. This series deserves all of the love! If you’re a fan of the Chestnut Springs series, then you MUST try this one!
Now I’m on the hunt for physical copies of the series, which seem to sell out faster than I can convince myself to break my book buying ban!
Here are some tropes! 💚 Forced Proximity 🕰️ Age gap (he’s ten years older) 💕 He falls first ☠️ Touch her and 💀 ❤️🩹 DV survivor (her) and PTSD (him) 🌶️ spicy!
Thank you to the author for gifting me an ebook. Opinions are my own.
This was my first time reading s cowboy romance and I’m hooked!!🤩
Grace runs away from her abusive husband and hopes to start fresh in Kansas. While that, Mack is a wounded soldier who came back home with more than just physical scars. Mack’s family ends up hiring Grace as his live-in keeper to help him. Both of them have their past traumas that they are running from. I cannot recommend this book enough!! Their chemistry, banter, spice is all perfection. A heartfelt small town romance that gives all the swoons!
What you can expect: 🐴 Ranch life 🐴 small town romance 🐴 cowboy 🐴 forced proximity 🐴 hate to love 🐴 trauma healing 🐴 war soldier x DV survivor 🐴 found family
all i’m gonna say is if you don’t know what you’re talking about either don’t write that scene or use google. there are inaccuracies in EVERY book - like the author obviously did some research and then just like stopped? idk but good god you think we ride yearlings? YEARLINGS?!
2/5 stars - Very confused how so many people rated this so high. Plot was minimal. Skimmed what felt like half the book because of the constant redundant sex scenes. It seemed like he magically got better with the snap of a finger and he was back on a horse in basically the same chapter a doctor told him he wasn’t ready. Only reason I didn’t DNF was because I wanted to actually finish the series. Will NOT be reading book 4 whenever that comes out.
Mackinlay freaking Rawlins you are EVERYTHING 😍😍 I devoured this book, Gracie and Mack’s story was perfection. It was filled with love, heartache and a whole lot of family moments.
I am a sucker for a military man and god I just wanted to give Mack a hug. Grace is the perfect woman for him and their journey is one of growth and emotion ❤️
I had to knock off a star bc at 80% this book started giving me some serious ick. The "conflict/dramatic event" felt so forced and made these characters come across the page as big dummies for letting it happen. Also, seems like with each book in the series, the authors has included more frequent spicy scenes and it got to a point where I just had to skim them.
The story shifted from cold to hot in the span of a single page. He didn’t like her at all in the beginning, (full of hate and self pity) acted like a complete ass, and then suddenly changed his mind, gave in into his insane attraction to her and asked her out.
There was no emotional depth. I kept waiting for more complexity, especially some angst, but it never came. The supposed slow burn didn’t feel slow at all, and I couldn’t feel any real chemistry between them.
I didn’t finish this. It was a miss for me!! There were some cute moments and the characters are OK, but it just got way too repetitive and boring. There are way too many intimate scenes also with no real plot. I am not interested in continuing on this journey unfortunately.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ TROPES: domestic abuse, PTSD, recovery, found family
“I do have expectations. I expect you to do your own physio three times a day. To eat every last mouthful of the healthy food I make you. To let the sunshine touch your face at least once a day. And I expect you to make a full recovery.”
This book. 😭❤️🩹
I couldn’t put this done once I started it. I finished this book in less than 24 hours people. Once I started I literally could not put it down.
If you aren’t already familiar with the lovely Alexandra Banks and her Rosewood Ranch series (aka smutty cowboy romances), then you seriously need to go check them out. This is the third in the series (can be read all together or separately). Book one Tough Love and book two Heart & Hope can be found on KU or Amazon.
Mack or also know as Mackinlay, has returned home on medical discharge. The fun, loving Mack is no where’s to be found though. Instead his family is left to deal with a grumpy arse. He needs someone around to help care for him but he keeps losing all his caregivers due to his attitude.
Grace is in desperate need of a life change but doesn’t know how to do it. She’s stuck in an abusive relationship and has slowly watched all her favourite things in life disappear. Seeing a chance, she escapes and drives across states till she comes across a ranch outside a small town that had posted looking for help. Unfortunately the position was filled but Mack’s family sees her as a potential caregiver for him. Needing a job desperately, Grace accepts the offer, but then wonders what she got herself into.
This story had my heart breaking and repairing so much. The journey that Mack and Grace are on with recovery is absolutely the greatest thing ever. Both struggle and both are each other’s Saving Grace. See what Alexandra did there. 😏
I highly recommend checking this book out as well as the others in the Rosewood Ranch series. You will not be disappointed! Oh and if it wasn’t already a perfection of a book, it’s set to release tomorrow! Who doesn’t want a good smutty book to read on Valentine’s Day!!!!
Topics throughout the book are: Age gap Small Town forced proximity PTSD rep Dual POV DV survivor
Summary: “Four hands. Two beating hearts. One movement.” Grace Weston escapes her abusive boyfriend, driving with nothing but a little cash and nowhere to turn. She ends up at R&R Ranch, desperate for work. Mackinlay "Mack" Rawlings, a war veteran struggling with physical and emotional pain, is reluctantly forced back to the ranch after a medical discharge. His family suggests hiring Grace as a live-in nanny to help him heal, though Mack is skeptical after previous failed attempts. But as they live together, a bond begins to form. Will Grace's past come back to haunt her? Can Mack confront his PTSD? And will they both find the healing they desperately need? Read to find out!
This captivating novel is the third installment in the Rosewood Ranch series, yet it stands perfectly on its own as a remarkable story. As my first book by Alexandra, I can’t help but wonder why I didn’t read her sooner. Her storytelling is nothing short of brilliant—emotionally charged, raw, and deeply moving. The way both characters navigate their healing journey together is beautifully portrayed, and their connection feels so genuine that you’ll find yourself completely immersed. It’s like watching a movie unfold in your mind. Don’t miss out on this masterpiece—grab your copy now on KU or Amazon! You won’t regret it!
Many thanks to Alexandra for providing me this opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Mack and Grace were both in a place in their life where they needed one another to make it through. Mack needed Grace to push him when he wasn’t doing what he was supposed to, and Grace needed Mack to gain her confidence back. Watching these two grow into the people they were before their accidents/incidents was bittersweet. Mack truly was drowning and Grace pulled him through.
Grace was a little lost and looking for somewhere to start fresh when she met the infamous Louisa. She was offered the job as Macks live-in “nanny” to help him recover from his medical discharge from the army. She immediately fired in with the Rawlins’ and was quick to learn to make her own choices in life.
Mack was grumpy and not himself since his accident. After he realized how much effort Grace was putting into his recovery, he really began to trust her. Mack is a fighter through and through, and he is also a great protector. When Grace needed his help, he was there for her in a heartbeat.
Tropes included forced proximity, hate to love, age gap, he falls first, and PTSD rep. I love that Grace finally decided to put her university education to use and get a job that she wanted. She was so strong for learning to depend on herself, and I loved that Mack saw that she needed to be her own person. These two complimented each other so well, and I was happy to see their future in the epilogue.
Thank you to Alexandra for the ARC, I highly recommend if you love a protective cowboy!
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Saving Grace is one of those books that I knew from the early pages would be a five star read. It was emotional, raw and utterly captivating.
Grace is young and she finally manages to break free of a toxic relationship (TW: Domestic Violence). She treks across country in pursuit of a cleaning job only to find the position has been filled. But Ruby & Louisa tell her that a position is available as a live in carer, which she jumps at. Mack is a soldier who was severely injured in the line of duty and struggling with his recovery & PTSD. Grace slowly starts to bring some sunshine to Mack’s grump and helps him on his road to recovery.
Saving Grace is an Age Gap, small town romance. It is the third book in a series of interconnected standalones. Saving Grace was a page turner and it so well written. I felt the raw emotions of both Grace & Mack and was so caught up in the good vibes too. Expect some incredible found family vibes with the Rawlins crew and got be fully drawn into the Small Town Vibes.
The book was extra spicy and I loved the chemistry between Grace & Mack. Despite it being an age gap romance, I wasn’t focusing on that at all. The relationship was solid and the amount of trust & respect these two characters had for each other was admirable.
I do suggest checking the full list of trigger warnings before starting this book.
Thank you to Alexandra Banks for gifting me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Saving Grace is book three in the Rosewood Ranch series, but it’s the first Alexandra Banks book that I have read. The books are interconnected, but this can definitely be read as a standalone.
The book starts out with Mack being injured in war and Grace leaving an abusive relationship. They both were down on themselves, but luckily their circumstances allowed them to cross paths. Once Mack broke through his grumpiness, he taught Grace how safe she could feel in a relationship. And Grace was right there, helping Mack emotionally and physically heal.
The premise of the story really drew me in, and while I enjoyed reading about their character growth (and all the side characters), there were a few things that kept me from fully loving this story. I wish there was a little more backstory to Grace and Joel. Don’t get me wrong, I hated his character, but I felt like I needed more about why she felt like she had to stay for so long. It just started a pattern of character choices that I questioned a bit. I also wish the character development continued more in the second half. Once they started sleeping together it seemed like that’s all they did.
Even so, I had a good time reading this one and I want to thank Alexandra for the ARC!
First of all, a huge thank you to the author, Alexandra Banks, for sending me an ARC of this book! When she reached out and asked if I wanted one, I obviously said, "absolutely"! I hadn’t heard of this series before, but DAMN, you better believe I’ll be reading the other books too!
I loved this. Couldn’t put it down. This book broke my heart but also put it back together.
Mack & Grace—ugh, I adore them. This story made me so emotional, omg. They’re both broken but heal together. They heal each other. The way they support one another in their darkest times, pull each other out of it, and find their way to peace? Everything. And the Rawlinses too! You can feel the love they have for each other.
This story was so much deeper than I expected. It highlights the importance of mental health, and I absolutely loved the PTSD rep—I think it was done so well. And Grace? She’s amazing. A strong, lovable FMC. A survivor.
Also, Mackinlay Rawlins, the man that you are! Protective, devoted, and will absolutely ruin you in the best way. The perfect mix of strength and softness. Definitely one of my top book boyfriends now, hehe.
After reading the first two books in the series, I couldn't wait for this one and it was so worth the wait. I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this book.
Saving Grace features Mack and Grace, two people who have had a rough time of it and manage to overcome their struggles and build a beautiful future together.
Grace is a strong FMC who manages to escape her life of domestic abuse and set herself on a path that enables her to follow her dreams. Mack is an injured soldier who is grumpy and stubborn and refuses to have anyone help him. Grace doesn’t give up and before long, she has Mack wanting to atone for the way he initially treated her.
There’s great chemistry between Mack and Grace and the way Mack does everything in his power to make Grace happy and feel worthy is beautiful.
The Rawlins family once again shines and ensures that Grace knows she is one of their own.
I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cowboy romance. I’m hoping Lawson gets his own book!
Just be ready for every emotion possible with this book and have the tissues ready, I definitely needed them. Grace has always wanted to be an artist, but life doesn't always go to plan. Estranged from her parents and living with the man who is supposed to love her, she wonders why her life has turned into the emptiness it has. When she recieves a card from her Mama for her twenty-first with $50 she knows she has to hide it or he'll just drink it away. Finally escaping the horrors she hopes to find a life better than that. Mack is finally home on the ranch after his time in the hospital after his medical discharge from the army. He's gone through three home helps already, he doesn't need a baby sitter he can cope himself. Can these two broken people help heal the other. Will Grace's past catch up with her. Can they find happiness or will everything end in tears. I loved this book so much and Mack is just perfect while Grace just needs to grow into herself. I can't wait for the next in this series
I absolutely devoured this book in a matter of hours. I was in tears from the first chapter and then pretty much on and off the entire book. What an emotional story, my heart shattered many times! I absolutely adore Mack & Grace - both of them came out of the deepest darkest places and one couldn’t do it without the other.
After reading the other two books in the series it literally broke my heart to read Mack in the state he was in at the beginning of the book. My heart hurt so much to see the way he thought about himself as well as the impacts of the his injury on him as a whole. Once Mack decided he had a reason to move forward, that reason being the woman he needed as much as oxygen, he became Mack again. He was fiercely protective of Grace and the way he loved and cared for her was so beautiful.
Gracie was such a strong FMC in this story, a true survivor. She took everything in her stride even when it hurt. She never gave up on Mack and truly was his Saving Grace. I love how Gracie found her people and learned to love and trust those around her.
The Rawlinson family are really a dream and you can feel the love they have for each other drip off the pages. I am so excited to read more about them in the upcoming novels.
Fully in my cowboy era at the moment 🤠 thank you so much to the author for this advanced copy ♡︎
This book follows Mack and Grace, both struggling to cope with recent traumatic events that they have endured. Grace is employed as a live in carer to support Mack whilst he recovers from a serious injury.
I must say the way this book handles some very sensitive and traumatic topics was great. I really felt the those feelings of hurt, sadness and hopelessness along with the characters which made for an emotional ride.
The progression between both characters was my favorite part of the book, they both grow and heal together and that was such an amazing and wholesome part of this journey.
There’s also some incredible tension and spicy scenes which I just couldn’t get enough of. A cowboy talking in a mildly southern US accent had me folding so fast 🫠
Overall this is a super cosy ranch based romance, which also touches on some heavier themes (tw check required) with a healthy dose of character growth ♡︎
Okay where do I start. Oh.my.god. This boooook. I thought I loved addy and Hudson or reed and Ruby but my number 1 favorite is definitely Mack and Grace! I enjoyed this book so much I didn’t wanna put it down but I also didn’t want to get quickly to the end. I loved the story of Mack his struggles the strength and the weak moments. And grace it broke my heart her journey and struggle I just wanted to go in the book grab her and give her the biggest hug. I loved the growth both of the characters did I enjoyed the struggle because it’s not that easy and I loved them together! Saving grace is definitely now my favorite read this year and wil be in my top 5 favorites a year. 5 ⭐️ read I highly recommend and of course to read the other Rosewood ranch books 1. Though love 2. Heart and hope 3. Saving grace @author_alexandrabanks thank you for writing these beautiful books and taking me with you on there journey
🫶🏽I am so in love 🫶🏽I want to live at rosewood ranch 🫶🏽Mack is my new favourite man 🫶🏽Come pick me up off the floor, I am a puddle for this man
Every book in this series I say this is my favourite but I lied, this one is my absolute favourite. “You have no idea how addictive you are, Mackinlay Rawlins.” and grace wasn’t lying. I finished this book a few days ago and I am still thinking about it.
This man is, strong, compassionate, emotional, and the mouth on him. Phew, he would make a girl sweat. The way he falls so hard for Gracie feels all encompassing.
Gracie is sweet, patient, kind with a little bit of fire. Her confidence grows the further she is able to get herself away from her ex.
I love that this series is set around a family they’re all in each of the books. It’s like seeing a friend, gangs all here. We get to see a little more of Louisa and Henry’s personality in this book. Plus that sneak peek at the end.
Mack & Grace are both fighting their own battles- when she shows up on his family ranch escaping a dangerous situation & he is forced to adapt to life after an honorable discharge from the military- they find themselves depending on each other in order to heal. Grace struggles with choices she has made, being only 21 and on the run from a life she was stuck in, she’s determined to find her way back to art and find her independence. Mack is the ultimate ‘touch her and you will pay’ book boyfriend who is older and very protective. This grumpy-sunshine cowboy romance will tug your heart strings and mend you back together. I loved this sweet, spicy story so much!
Tropes: Spicy, he falls first, 10 year age gap, cowboy romance, close knit found family, forced proximity, enemies to lovers.
Receiving an arc for this book was MY saving grace lol. I don’t even know where to start, I absolutely adore the Rosewood Ranch series and Saving Grace did not disappoint. I swear cowboy romance heals my soul a little bit every time I read a new one. In our latest instalment- Mack is discharged from the army after a serious injury and it’s left him miserable and hopeless. Grace is on the run from an abusive ex and settles in living at the ranch as Mack’s live in care. I think I’ve said this in every review of this series but I adore the captain thing. It’s so uniquely these books and I love how it follows through the rest of the series. If you are looking for a grumpy/sunshine romance, where hope and healing take the centre stage, I cannot recommend this one enough.
